Some of the devotionals on this website, as of late, have showcased the various 
aspects of John Bunyan’s earthshaking allegory, Pilgrim’s Progress.

And yesterday, the “picture of a very grave man” was discussed.

Now just what did this picture represent?
.
Again, hear the “Interpreter” as he talks with Christian, the pilgrim, regarding this picture…
.
INTERPRETER: “The Man whose Picture this is, is one of a thousand…
And whereas thou seest him with his eyes lift up to Heaven,
the best of Books in his hand,
and the Law of Truth written on his lips…
and whereas thou seest the World as cast behind him,
and that a Crown hangs over his head,
that is to shew thee that slighting and despising the things that are present…
…he is sure in the world that comes next,
to have Glory for his reward.”

Basically, this picture described by Interpreter is a symbolic picture of “total Christian dedication”!
.

WHO IS THAT MAN?
.
Now the true identity of this man in the picture is not given, although the Interpreter hinted that he was very Christ-like.
.
But the Interpreter warned the pilgrim that this man was the only one trustworthy to advise Heavenbound pilgrims, who wind up in difficult circumstances.
.
And furthermore, he warned the pilgrim that those who DO NOT measure up to this picture are NOT to be trusted as advisers.
.
And this is the point of today’s devotional.

PAUL WAS LIKE THIS MAN!
.
Now the apostle, Paul, was such a man as the man in this picture.
.
Yes, Paul was the very essence of all these qualities that were present in that very symbolic picture shown to the pilgrim.

So, if we are to be followers of Paul, even as Paul was a follower of Jesus…

TODAY’S HEAVENLY SIGN

CASTOR AND POLLUX & THE NARROW WAY…
WIDE & NARROW GATES IN THE HEAVENS
.
As the opening verse says…
…“Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction…”

So, what are these two gates all about?
.
And how can I choose the right door?
.
But before we explore these questions, let’s take a look at why these two sets of stars represent these two biblical gates.
.
(This sketch, while not 100% accurate, gives a fair portrayal of how this constellation group appears at winter’s end and even into June, when above the western horizon.)

HOW THE GATES RELATE TO ORION & DRAGON
.
This sketch below is when these constellations are in the eastern sky in early winter (However, this constellation group can even be seen as early as July, in the pre-dawn hours).
.
In the eastern sky, it’s not so easily seen which gate the Revelation 12 Woman will enter.
.
The Wide Gate is made of the two brightest stars of this Wave of Water Constellation.
.
Satan spews out the deadly water of his false worldly ideologies…
.
…which many of these ideologies have a form of godliness, but in some way are not in harmony…
.
…or perhaps these worldly ideologies add to the Bible, which is strictly forbidden (see Deuteronomy 4:2).
.
On the other hand, the Strait Gate (narrow gate) is composed of the two brightest stars of the Orion The Reaper’s sickle. The true Strait Gate represents Jesus, the Word of God.
.

he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out,
and find pasture.”
