“Because thou hast kept the word of My patience,
I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation,
which shall come upon all the world,
to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
Revelation 3:10

This particular promise was made to the church of Philadelphia, one of Revelation’s two completely faithful churches.
.
Yes, the church of Philadelphia would be kept “from the hour of temptation”, which was to come upon the whole world, “to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

BIBLE DOESN’T SPEAK OF 3RD COMING
.
And so, because modern-day theologians concluded that being kept “from the hour of temptation” required a physical removing of the Church from the earth, then there must be two separate Second-Comings of the Lord, one prior to the Great Day of the Lord.
.
But the fact is, the Bible never says that there will be two separate “Second Comings”, nor does it speak of a third “Coming”.
.
Listen… “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;
and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the SECOND TIME
without sin unto salvation.”
Hebrews 9:28
.
Here it says that Christ will appear a second time, but never a third time!

HOW WILL CHURCH BE KEPT FROM THAT HOUR?
.
As a matter of fact, the Bible nowhere specifically says anything about the Church being literally removed from the earth, prior to the Great and Terrible Day of God.
.
So then, just where or how will the church be kept from the hour of temptation, which is coming upon the whole world?
.
After all, Jesus said…
…”I pray not that Thou (His Father)
should take them (His Followers) out of the world,
but that Thou should keep them from the evil.”
John 17:15.
.

“A prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.”
Proverbs 27:12
.
.So, just where should we be in that Great Day of God Almighty?
.
This above proverb gives us a big clue, as to just where God’s people need to be, prior to the soon-coming storm.
.
Yes, the wise are preparing themselves for the great tribulation…
.
…but the foolish “are at ease in Zion”! Amos 6:1
.
.

.
.
.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves…”
Proverbs 28:28
.
Listen to this next passage about where to hide…
.
“Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers,
and shut thy doors about thee:
hide thyself as it were for a little moment,
until the indignation be overpast.
For, behold, the LORD comes out of His place
to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity…”
Isaiah 26:20, 21.
.
So now it is revealed that Christians are to hide ourselves in their “chambers”.
And they are to stay in their chambers till the indignation be over-past, when “the Lord comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth”.

LITERAL CHAMBERS?
.
Now, is God speaking of literal chambers? Here again, is a perfect example of just how often God speaks metaphorically.
.
The obvious answer is, “Of course He’s speaking metaphorically!”
.
But maybe we are to hide in our SPIRITUAL storm-shelter!
.
Listen…
“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion:
in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me;
He shall set me up upon a Rock.”
Psalm 27:5.
.
So now we are getting closer to the place of our refuge in the time of trouble before us.
.

PLAGUES FALLING ALL AROUND
.
And even though their feet will be still standing on this sin-cursed earth; and even though God’s plagues are falling all around His people, they have this promise…
.
Listen… “A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge,
even the most High, thy habitation;”
Psalm 91:7-9.
.
Here is where we must be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.
.
And though God’s people see God’s seven last plagues falling all around, those plagues will not come near them.
.
Because in heart, they will be sitting with Christ in the Heavenly Places of His Heavenly Temple: His people!
