Now these are pretty good lines for somebody from the world! And these words go very well with today’s devotional about the two spirits in the world!

Yes, indeed, each one of us must choose just who it is we will serve. And as this song says, “Well, it may be the Devil, or it may be the Lord!” But we each must serve somebody!

.

And it doesn’t matter who we are, either. We can be the lowest of the low! Or we might be the highest of the high! But each of us must serve somebody, either the Devil or the Lord!

.

Yes, indeed, we’re gonna have to serve somebody!

SPIRIT OF TRUTH, SPIRIT OF ERROR

Now if these above lyrics don’t strike fear into each of our hearts, perhaps the next following truth will do so.

.

You see, as Part 1 of this little series, “The Two Spirits In The World”, the truth was focused on that the Bible tells us that we will be indwelt by one of two spirits: either we will be indwelt by the Spirit of Holiness, or we will be indwelt by the spirit of the world. One or the other. No third alternative!

.

So not only must we serve one or the other master, but we are actually indwelt by one or the other spirit!

“THAT SPIRIT THAT NOW WORKS IN THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE”

Listen to this startling verse which reveals that Satan’s spirit is within unsaved mankind…“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:” Ephesians 2:2

.

And so, this verse reveals that Satan is the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.

“THEY ARE OF THE WORLD”

Just listen to this next passage concerning the two spirits…“They (Antichrists) are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit of Truth, and the Spirit of Error.” 1st John 4:5, 6

.

Here is seen that the spirit of this world is the spirit of Antichrist! And this Antichrist spirit is the spirit of error. But those who are of the Spirit of Truth can speak to those who are of the spirit of error, but they will not hear! They cannot hear, because they are of a different spirit!

MANY DECEIVED ONES IN THE CHURCH!

Now there are many faithful church-going parishioners who believe that they are indwelt by the Spirit of Truth.

.

As a matter of fact, nearly the entire Christian nation around the world believes that they are indwelt by the Holy Spirit of Truth.

.

But the Bible makes no such statement. As a matter of fact the Bible says just the opposite…

.

Listen…“Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity!” Matthew 7:21-23

MANY DECEIVED ONES!

In this above passage from Matthew, Jesus presents a very sad and terrifying, but very real truth: that on the great Day of Judgment, there will be many deceived former church-goers, who thought they were signed-sealed-and-delivered-saints when back on earth.

But as they finally stand before God on that fearful Day, they will be shocked to discover that their religion was altogether worthless!

HOW CAN I HAVE THE BLESSED ASSURANCE?

So just how can we know that we are truly indwelt by the Holy Spirit of Truth? How can a Christian have the blessed assurance that he or she is truly on the highway to Heaven?

TRIALS, PRAYERS, AND PRECIOUS PROMISES

Listen to Jesus as He addresses the worldly-minded Church at Laodicea…“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire (fiery trials which removes the dross of worldliness), that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment (Garments of Salvation), that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve (the knowledge of God’s Word), that thou mayest see.” Revelation 3:18

.

But this spiritual remedy which was originally given to the Church of the Laodiceans is just as needful today by double-minded Laodicean Christians!

PURIFIED BY FIRE, NOURISHED BY HIS WORD, SAVED BY GRACE

Yes, we must beg and plead for God to send us through fiery tribulations, that we may one day come forth as purified gold!

And we must continually beg for God to save us, and deliver us from our own apathy!

And finally, we must beg and plead for God to give us a love and burning desire for daily Bible study and constant meditation of His Word!

AS PURIFIED GOLD

And so, once God mercifully begins to bring us through fiery trials, and gives us a genuine love for the countless precious promises found throughout the Old and New Testaments.

And once we begin to love to spend many hours searching the Scriptures, and contemplating them, day and night.

Then and only then will we begin to have the assurance that God is truly working in us, “to will, and to do of His good pleasure!” Philippians 2:13

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION GROUP…

Look eastward in the early summer through fall. Find the Cassiopeia Constellation. Cassiopeia is the Mount of Blessing. In the sketch, it is the farthest mountain to the left. In the sky, it is the northern-most of these three mountains when facing eastward. It resembles a pyramid.

Then find the second pyramid to its right (south).

Then go a little further south to the next third pyramid. The third snow-cap is the Destroying Mountain Constellation.

THE VALLEY OF DECISION CONSTELLATION GROUP. They appear in mid-summer in the eastern skies in pre-dawn hours. These are made of Cassiopeia (mount on left), and various stars from the Andromeda Constellation (valley) Pegasus (Mount of Cursing (middle mount) & Destroying Mount (right)), and Pisces (Broad Way to Hell). The galaxy which appears to be climbing the Mountain of Blessing is the Andromeda Galaxy.

On a Thursday morning, the residents of Paradise California woke up to perhaps one of the rudest awakenings in modern history, as the alarm of fire sounded, causing a frantic scrambling to escape for their very lives through raging killer flames!

.

The beautiful little forest community was all but destroyed, causing nearly 100 tragic deaths!

.

Nearly 20,000 buildings destroyed!

.

Almost the entire town now lay desolate!

.

The entire community being displaced, having to take refuge wherever they could!

PARADISE LOST

This obvious analogy between Paradise California and Milton’s infamous book, Paradise Lost has not escaped the notice of the public.

And the horrific and tragic fire which destroyed almost the entire community of Paradise has been described as “apocalyptic” in nature, as it was so unbelievable, that it took the collective breath away from the horrified, onlooking public!

GLOBAL WARMING?

There has been an alarm sounding for several decades now, concerning global warming.

.

Day and night, the media has been warning the world that our technology and industry has created an increase in global temperature.

IS THE PLANET WARMING, COOLING…OR BOTH?

.

Well, of course, there is an ongoing debate as to whether or not the globe has been going through a number of years of global cooling now. Certainly in some areas of our land, there has been severe drought for a number of years. So instead of calling it “Global Warming”, they now call it “Climate Change”, which allows for cold spells as well as hot spells, allowing much leeway and shelter for defenders of this theory.

.

But just how significant the role that technology and industry plays in affecting the climate has also been part of the current ongoing debate.

.

But perhaps it’s true. Yes, maybe our powerful high-tech/industrial world does indeed affect the climate.

.

But the truth is, nobody actually knows for certain (even though many claim they know for sure).

.

CLIMATE CHANGE IN CENTURIES PAST

.

However, the fact is, regional drought and even warming is nothing new.

.

Yes, throughout history there has been warming in certain areas.

.

For instance, during the warming of one particular part of the globe, long extinct ancient villages and remnants of ancient forests have been exposed from the receding glacier ice in those areas.

.

Also, the Bible reveals that much of the Middle East was once very lush, tropical forests and meadows, such as ancient Israel. And the ancient city-state of Babylon was probably another area which was once very lush and green during the days of Nebuchadnezzar, before it finally became a barren desert as it is, even now. 

.

“He turneth…a…fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.”

.

But just what was the source of that global warming back in those days? After all, there was no industrial technology back in those past millenniums.

.

Well, the Bible reveals one very important truth about climate change in Psalm 107:33, 34…“He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.”

.

Here we realize that it is God who sometimes punishes a culture’s immorality by turning its luscious greenery into dry desert.

.

It’s just very sad that this current-day atheistic culture no longer understands nor assents to these proven Bible truths, unlike many of the western culture’s Christian forefathers, who fully believed these truths!

.

“He turneth…dry ground into watersprings.”

.

Furthermore, should a society return from its licentious and/or its unjust/violent ways, God can certainly reverse that judgment…

.

Listen again to this same Psalm 107…“He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.” Psalm 107:35, 36

.

And so, whatever the reason for our current global warming (or “global cooling”, as many other meteorologists insist) which is now occurring, God can easily bless a nation which returns in full and true repentance back to Heaven’s ways! As the above Psalm 107 affirms, God can easily turn, “the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.”

.

The great question which must be answered is simply this: “Are we willing to turn to Him for help? Will this unbelieving and antichrist society ever return back from our rebellion against Heaven?”

.

A PARADISE LOST WORLD?

Perhaps you might say, we live in the true “Paradise Lost”, fallen world.

And the people of that little California community are no more wicked than the rest of us sinners!

LOOSING THE BANDS OF ORION

God spoke several times of Orion, in Scripture. His question to Job was a very mystifying question, to say the least… “Canst thou…loose the bands of Orion?” Job 38:31. Such a strange question, indeed! How could a constellation have its bands loosed, much less, even have bands? Puzzling, puzzling!

But now, He is revealing this bright and beautiful constellation in a way that has never before been seen. God Himself is loosing Orion’s bands, as He is just now unraveling this age-old mystery. And we are beginning to understand that this most infamous of all constellations is nothing less than a remarkable metaphor concerning Jesus.
