There is a church doctrine which has steadily increased in popularity, since the day that Cyrus I. Scofield first published his very own study-bible, The Scofield Reference Bible.

.

Of course, to put one’s own fallible opinions along-side God’s infallible “Words of Eternal Life”: is this not the height of foolish arrogance?!

“O My people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths”

Isaiah 3:12

There are many thoughts, words, and deeds which each and every one of us will probably hang our heads in shame for, when standing on that Great and Notable Day!

.

But tragically, Scofield just might have to answer, on that same Day, for his hellish influence on many of today’s theologians (hopefully, he repented prior to his death.)

.

And as a result, countless unlearned churchgoers have been led astray, “unto their own destruction”, by naively and unquestioningly accepting various false doctrines…

.

…unbiblical doctrines, quite often espoused by Scofield and those other erring authors of similar study-bibles!

(Bible students should never use any Bible with personal commentaries by fallible men, since some personal comments are probably in error. Rather, find a Bible with only inserted references to similar verses.)

“…they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction”

2nd Peter 3:16

The historical records give Cyrus I. Scofield credit for popularizing this false doctrine of the “Pre-Tribulation Rapture”…

.

…a heresy first invented by another 19th-century false Bible teacher, one John Darby of The Plymouth Brethren denomination.

.

Thus, by such heretical wrestling with Scripture, Scofield/Darby then began to promote the idea that Christ would “rapture” His Church out of the world, just prior to the prophecies of Revelation being fulfilled.

“…and unto them that look for Him (Christ) shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation”

Hebrews 9:28

And so, by such twisting of Scripture, Scofield/Darby now invented TWO second “Coming(s) of the Lord”, instead of the biblical pronouncement of only one!

.

And thus, was coined the name, “The Pretribulation Rapture”, and the second return, using the God-given name for the event, “The Coming of the Lord” on “the last day”.

.

Consequently, the Christian world was now being taught that there were, not one, but TWO separate returns of Christ!

.

And, of course, if you missed out on the Christ’s first return, you now would have a second chance!

.

Okay, so let’s get to the main thrust of this devotional.

.

And today’s main point is to highlight and emphasize John 6, in which Jesus speaks four times of His Return on “the last day”!

JOHN, CHAPTER 6

.

Let’s merely allow the Bible to speak for itself.

.

You see, in John, Chapter 6, Jesus made this very revealing statement…

“And this is the Father’s will which hath sent Me,

that of all which he hath given Me I should lose nothing,

BUT SHOULD RAISE IT UP AT THE LAST DAY.”

John 6:39.

.

Now, here we see that God’s people will be raised up on “the Last Day”.

.

2ND VERSE FROM JOHN 6

.

Here is another verse from the same chapter…

“And this is the will of him that sent Me,

that every one which seeth the Son,

and believeth on Him,

may have everlasting life:

AND I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY.”

John 6:40

Here again, this verse encompasses every human who ever believed on Jesus throughout time.

3RD VERSE FROM JOHN 6

Now listen to the third verse from John 6…

…”No man can come to Me,

except the Father which hath sent Me draw him:

and I will raise him up at the LAST DAY.”

John 6:44

Now, here is yet another similar confirmation that the Resurrection is on the Last Day, and NOT PRIOR to the Tribulation of Revelation!

4TH VERSE FROM JOHN 6

.

Now listen to the last verse from John 6 concerning the Last Day… “Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the LAST DAY.” John 6:54

.

So just why did Jesus repeat this “Last Day” truth four different times in just one little section of the Bible?

.

Well, one thing is for sure! This chapter makes a clear-cut case for the Resurrection happening on the Last Day, and not 7 years prior, as Pre-Tribulation Rapture advocates insist!

The reason that it puts many, or perhaps most churchgoers to sleep, spiritually speaking!

After all, why should we worry about putting on our spiritual armor, if we get to miss the entire battle?

SAD STATISTICS

.

Now please don’t scoff at this idea! 

.

Statistics by the most notable pollsters show that drunkenness, addictions, pornography, divorce/re-marriage, Bible-illiteracy, materialism, TV watching, etc., are at an alarming all-time high in today’s Christendom!

.

And so obviously, the Christian community is not being watchful, as the Bible warns us to be…

…”Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved,

what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,

wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved,

and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”

2nd Peter 3:11, 12

.

The fact is, assuming the pollsters’ statistics are accurate, even if there was this so-called Pre-Tribulation Rapture, very few churchgoers would be “caught up”!

.

We simply are just not ready!

And so, if you dear soul have been listening to those who are lulling the Church into a false sense of security by teaching such heretical doctrines as the so-called “Pre-Tribulation Rapture”…

…you really need to shut them off and start studying the Bible for your own self!

Hide God’s precious promises in your heart!

Listen to Scripture on audio tapes!

.

Carry a little Gideon’s Bible in your back pocket and read it whenever you have a spare moment!

.

Take for instance the second face: the wolf, or perhaps a fox, or a dog.

This wolf-like face with one raised eyebrow, gives us a fitting portrait of a scornful, judgmental human.

And it reminds us of the Old Testament sect, known as The Pharisees, or “Dogs…the Concision”. Philippians 3:2

.

Yes, those Pharisees were a very judgmental group, who took pride that they were very moral and upright, and looked down upon others whom they supposed were not so morally upright.

A WORLD OF INEQUALITIES!

In this very proud world, there are many things which cause us to judge and scorn.

.

And there are many people who just seem to be magnets for others to judge and scorn them.

.

And because we all innately possess pride in our hearts, looking down upon, and judging others, comes to us about as natural as breathing!

.

Quite often, we’re not even aware that we’re doing it!

.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise”

We judge those who look funny or dress weird. 

.

We judge those who habitually make poor decisions in life.

.

We judge the quirky mannerisms and odd behavior of old people.

And we often judge those whom we think are “lazy”…

…or dirty…

…or poor,

…or rich…

…or “nerds”…

…or “hip”…

…or in a cult…

…or in a world-loving gospel…

…or are “too religious”…

…or believe supposed false doctrines.

GOD, NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS

This entire world is full of inequities.

.

And people tend to judge just about anything and anyone whom they see as being less than themselves in some way!

But listen to what Peter had to say about God…

…”Then Peter opened his mouth,

and said, Of a truth I perceive

that God is no respecter of persons…” 

Acts 10:34

.

God values the soul of the poor drunken beggar just as much as the soul of the wealthy entrepreneur.

.

He values the soul of the high-stepping politician just as much as He does the starving multitudes in third-world nations.

.

He bled and died to save even that poor, miserable wretch bent over from a life of drug abuse!

“JUDGES OF EVIL THOUGHTS?”

…”My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ…

with respect of persons. 

For if there come unto your assembly a man

with a gold ring, in goodly apparel,

and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment…

and say unto him (the rich),

‘Sit thou here in a good place’;

and say to the poor, ‘Stand thou there’…

Are ye not…become judges of (with) evil thoughts?  

James 2:1-4

Well, none of us can say that we haven’t judged or even scorned somebody.

.

And probably, most of us have done so, a multitude of times!

The Good News is, that this is still the Day of Salvation!

And God is giving us just enough time to repent of this horrible crime against Heaven.

And God will sit as a purifier of our hearts, and remove all Pharisean pride, if we will just cry out to Him for mercy.

.

But just one tidbit of advice which will be a benefit for each of us…

…whenever we catch ourselves judging another individual,

for Heaven’s sake, simply begin praying

for God’s blessing on that dear soul

for whom Christ also bled & died!

Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose?

(Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

Do you see an angry look? His right eyebrow is raised as if he is judging.

.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox.

.

Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog.

.

Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn.

.

Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad shock and awe; this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn.

.

As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below.

.

He is very moral, you see!

.
