Atheism Exposed: Nature’s Witnesses,

Part 17:

“Atheism Vs. God’s Two-Edged Sword”

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”

It’s always fun and exciting to listen to a good, intelligent, orderly and respectable Internet debate between atheists and Christians.

.

**And even though we all “root, root, root for the home team” (as that old song sings), we might even learn from listening to the opposition’s arguments.**

But as we witness more and more of these atheist/creationist debates, there is a common theme we hear from the atheists.

.

Yes, it is almost guaranteed that we will hear the following complaints: “The God of the Bible is a tyrant, evil, hypocritical, and invented by mere men. Christians are hypocrites, evildoers, etc., etc….

.

A young lady on a social website was listing some of the Bible’s stupidity, such as

“Forbidding to wear garments of wool mingled with cotton,

or discovering an unfaithful wife

by drinking “bitter water that causeth the curse…

thy thigh to rot,

and thy belly to swell….”

.

And well, this young lady continued on and one (interjecting numerous exclamation marks in the form of curse-words).

.

And then she concluded by saying “these ridiculous Old Testament laws only *prove, without a doubt, that the ‘3!#&!#’ Bible is pure Bull-**‘3!#&!#’,* written by ‘#%$#!’ men!”

.

But what we need to understand is, that all those hard-to-understand verses begin to make sense only when we realize that the Bible is a prophetic book.

.

**For example, when the Bible forbids wearing clothing made of both wool and linen (cotton), the spiritual message concern our “garments of Salvation”…**

…”my soul shall be joyful in my God;

for He hath clothed me

with the garments of salvation”

Isaiah 61:10

.

God wants us to be clothed with woolen from the Lamb of God.

.

We are not to mingle that heavenly garment with the worldly covering of cotton (which symbolizes the commonness of the world).

.

SLAVERY

.

God wrote rules concerning slavery for a number of reasons.

.

One very important reason is that back in those days, it was common for people to pay their debts by placing themselves in servitude to the one whom they owed money, until their debt was paid.

.

And so, God laid down codes of conduct for both the slaves and also for their masters.

.

In the New Testament, Paul gave admonitions for godly conduct to Christians who were slaves, sometimes even for employees…

.

“For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.”

1st Corinthians 9:19

.

Now, today’s skeptics and critics will use these admonitions to accuse God of being a monster or just a fabrication of the men who made up the entire myth of God and God’s Son.

.

Now even though most Bible students are not slaves of men, the fact is, we are servants and bondmen of Christ…

.

And the unsaved multitudes are servants and prisoners of “the god of this world”, Lucifer, now titled, Satan and The Devil. 2nd Corinthians 4:4

.

And so, these admonitions are applicable in many areas of life, including our career in which we are servants to our employer.

.

Jesus said “Therefore speak I to them in parables”

… And those skeptics who find seeming contradictions in the Bible or some Bible passages which prove that God is evil, because of this or that thing He did or allowed, only validates the passage that informs us…

It is not God’s purpose nor intention to bring humans to Salvation via the wisdom of this world.

Mrk_10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

.

Even though we may be spiritually blind, nevertheless, we can cry out to God…“Lord, that I might receive my sight.”

.
