FLOWER POWER? NOT SO MUCH!

Can you believe it? At the writing of this devotional (2017), it has been over 50 years since the Summer of Love in San Francisco!

.

Remember that?

.

Well, most people were born in the years following that notable event.

.

But it was a real effort by that young generation to engage in brotherly love at a time when America was at war.

.

Everything was peace and love!

.

Flowers were given as a symbol of peace and love!

.

“LOVE SHMOVE!”

.

Well, it wasn’t long until that movement went the way of almost every movement.

.

And the world returned back to its normal push-and-shove ways, now even more skeptical of any so-called, “peace and love” rhetoric.

.

^“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Matthew 24:12, 13

This above prophecy by Jesus seems to be now finding its fulfillment.

.

As we look around, we are amazed and confounded by the firestorm of hate-fueled, crime-filled violence in the world, and even in the former Christian nations.

.

Law and order are giving way to a corrupt judicial system. Police are prevented from doing their job.

.

The schools have groomed young people to hate, based upon skin-color, and against unpopular political/religious ideologies, and even against orthodox morality!

.

Consequently, this prophecy from Matthew 24:12, 13 is just another evidence that the Bible is verily, the infallible “Word of Truth”. John 17:17.

.

Having said all this, let’s give credit where credit is truly due.

Oh yes, the media bears great responsibility for fomenting so much of today’s anger, racism, violence, distrust, and intolerance.

.

And yet, Bible prophecy foretold of Satan’s role as the False Prophet which would have “two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon”.

.

Yes, Lucifer, now as “the Prince of the Power of the Air”, works through unsaved humans to stir up the masses via the press, and the electronic media.

.

As a matter of fact, Satan mostly controls the various educational platforms, working through unwary human instruments.

.

“AND A MAN SHALL BE AS AN HIDING PLACE”

Isaiah 32:2

But today’s devotional, while shining the spotlight on the tragic condition of today’s world, would also like to reveal the way of escape from all this insane hatred.

.

We don’t have to be consumed by hate.

.

Yes, there is a way of escape, which is found in Isaiah 26:20, 21…

…”Come, My people,

enter thou into thy chambers,

and shut thy doors about thee:

hide thyself as it were for a little moment,

until the indignation be overpast.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of His place

to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity:

the earth also shall disclose her blood,

and shall no more cover her slain.”

.

Yes, as this above verse reveals, there is, “a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest;” Isaiah 32:30.

THE ARK IN THE HEAVENS

.

So, what importance to us is all this information?

.

Well, if a person goes out at night, beginning in April (earlier in southern-most latitudes, and later in northern-most), in the pre-dawn hour…

.

…they just might locate the constellation commonly referred to as the Sagittarius Constellation.

.

It is located in the southern sky. (Each night it appears a little earlier, slowly inching westward, through the summer, until it finally disappears below the western horizon in November.)

.

At first, it simply appears as two twin birds flying westward.

.

But if you look once again, it just might appear as a long box-like figure, with one star on the right, as you face it, and two stars on the left.

.

The box, of course would be the Ark, and the stars on either side would represent angels, which are sometimes referred to as stars in the Bible.

.
