One very popular thought-leader made the statement, “Tyrants use fear to obtain compliance”.

Yes, more and more, we see our government using fear to keep the populace compliant.

Never was this truth more evident than during the Covid lockdowns!

Politicians with tyranny in their hearts rejoiced in their newly-found powers to place the fearful public under strict authoritarian control!

Even the Bible highlights this principle, way back in the Book of Daniel (among other places in Scripture). Yes, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon used fear to force the citizenry to bow down to his likeness, that 60-cubit high statue made of gold…“whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.” Daniel 3:6

.

But when the three Hebrews refused to bow, Nebuchadnezzar once again used fear…“Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.” Daniel 3:19

.

With a scary-looking, enraged countenance, the king then commanded the fiery furnace to be heated 7-times hotter. And so, here were two more attempts to intimidate the three Hebrews into submission. But as the story continues, the three still refused, and were cast alive into that furnace, and yet Jesus joined them there, bringing them unharmed through that harrowing experience!

Well, fast-forward to our day! And sadly, and tragically, we are now seeing similar tactics being used in the western nations, the very nations which once rejoiced in the Gospel, but eventually rejected the only true Gospel!

Yes, even though we live in a so-called “advanced” world-order, there is an emergence of totalitarians who have gained control of various governments around the world. And just like history’s past dictators, this new breed of totalitarians use fear to gain power over the frightened masses, telling them unless they submit to these power-hungry rulers, then the consequences will be frightening:

“You will lose your job!”

“Submit to us or the planet will succumb to greenhouse gases!”

.

“Your Christian beliefs will offend and discourage certain protected groups, possibly to the point of driving them to commit suicide!”

.

“You’ll be branded as ‘a racist’, or ‘an extremist’, or ‘a Nazi’! You will be the object of public scorn and derision!”

“Capitulate, or government authorities might come and knock on your door to take away your children!”

THE NARROW GATE STARS

.

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter. Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter being the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story). Orion , the Dragon, and the Glorious White Horse are beginning to descend into the western horizon (sketch to right is Winter Constellations descending into western horizon. This can actually be seen as early as December, in the pre-dawn hours).

.

And at this point it is apparent that the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation  is veering toward the two bright stars, known as Castor and Pollux (sketch to below left). But the Wide Gate Stars are composed of the two brightest stars of the Auriga Constellation, known as the star, Capella, and the star, Menkalinan. The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.

This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark). While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions. It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

The sketch to left shows, the two doors are each composed of two bright stars. The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle. The two stars that comprise the ‘Wide Gate’ Stars are the two brightest stars of the wave of water that comes out of the Dragon Constellation’s mouth (for explanation of “Wave of Water”, just click here). The stars that make up the ‘Narrow Gate’ are about half the width of the Wide Gate (see sketch to right).

Various geologists, theologians/Bible teachers and laymen have gone to the area surrounding the site of that infamous city of Gomorrah to investigate claims that ashes and balls of brimstone still lay upon the now-desolate landscape as a God-made monument and fearful reminder of His awful Judgment upon those cities, as is written…“The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;” Genesis 19:23, 24

Well, sure enough, the now-desolate landscape of that once-thriving city is still covered with ashes and some still-remaining fire-balls of brimstone scattered here and there!

SODOM NOW THE LOWEST POINT IN ALL THE WORLD!

Of course, the area which once was that other condemned sister-city of Gomorrah, the City of Sodom, is now completely covered with salt-laden water, being a testimony of its complete annihilation by God, this area now being the lowest point of altitude in the entire world (1300 feet below sea level!).

AN UNHEEDED WARNING!

As the Epistle of Jude reveals, Sodom & Gomorrah were to become a testimony of God’s eternal wrath…“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha…giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude 1:7

.

Of course, this great warning from Heaven against ungodliness, has not deterred the citizens of this present-day fallen world from pursuing the same licentious lifestyle of those doomed ancient cities.

But even more fearful are the various Bible warnings to the church-world, not to pursue the vain, selfish pleasures and the proud, ambitious pursuits of this Sodom & Gomorrah world!

Listen to Jesus’ frightful warning…“And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.” Mark 6:11

Yes, when a true Believer unsuccessfully tries to warn the world’s inhabitants (and to warn world-loving churchgoers) to repent from their ungodliness, those hard-hearted skeptics need look no further than the destruction of those two doomed cities to see the awful fate awaiting every Christ-rejecting man, woman, and child!

A SODOM & GOMORRAH CHURCH-WORLD?

Listen to what God says to His very own people…“Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.” Isaiah 1:9, 10

God is comparing His very own people to Sodom & Gomorrah!

But don’t think that this verse from Isaiah is merely for the Old Testament people of God! No, just listen to Peter…“But there were false prophets also among the (Old Testament) people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies…And (God) turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly…Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2nd Peter 2:1, 6, & 3:17, 18

This passage reveals that if the works which have been witnessed by today’s church-community, had been witnessed by the unbelieving secular people of this Sodom & Gomorrah world, they would have long ago repented of their misdeeds!

ORION GETS THE VICTORY

Now if you will stay up all night, you will see that the tables turn very dramatically for our three warriors.

This is because, as night progresses, and this constellation group moves to the west, God has designed this threesome to now be in the opposite circumstance. Now it is Orion and his Horse who are atop the Dragon. Now Orion is about to cut off the Dragon’s head with his two-edged sword, while the Horse is stomping on his tail. And of course, there needs to be no explanation, because this picture tells the whole story. Jesus wins in the end! God’s people are victorious at last! No wonder the Bible calls this story…“The Good News”!
