“Great Balls of Fire!”

“But the day of the Lord will come
as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away
with a great noise,
and the elements shall melt
with fervent heat,
the earth also and the works that are therein

Amongst the many popular sayings commonly spoken of in society, the phrase, “Great balls of fire” first began to be commonly used by preachers and evangelists back in the mid-1800’s.
.
Even Ellen White had a vision of God’s Judgment Day, back in 1904, in which she later recounted…“Great balls of fire were falling upon houses, and from these balls fiery arrows were flying in every direction. It was impossible to check the fires that were kindled, and many places were being destroyed. The terror of the people was indescribable. After a time I awoke and found myself at home.”

But sadly, this phrase, “great balls of fire” became the object of Satan’s hateful sophistry, taking the alarming sting out of such a dreadful description of God’s final wrath upon a rebellious planet.
.
And let’s face it, all such mockeries come right out of Satan’s playbook, in his attempt to make the Bible as irrelevant, diminished, distrusted, and dishonored as possible!
.
In other words, this antichrist world is literally teeming with words, phrases and names which create a stigma in the minds of the general populace.
.
And so, “the god of this world”, Satan, will often take some King James Version word or phrase and give it some comical or lewd connotation. (2nd Corinthians 4:4)
.
Taking just one example out of many, the name “ass” (donkey) has been crudely and wildly morphed to now refer to someone’s anus having no apparent connection to a donkey.
.
Thus, by calling someone an “ass”, has become a double-entendre. And now, when people read the King James Version, there are many other similar words and phrases purposely twisted and distorted to make the King James Bible as cheap, comical, ineffective, and irrelevant as Satan can possibly make it!

A LEWD SONG FOR A DECAYING SOCIETY
.
Now, as far as that “Great balls of fire” phrase, Satan allow such a frightening description to go unchecked. No, but rather, he wrote one of the very first Rock-N-Roll songs (working through several secular songwriters), giving it an even more crude, even a sexually lewd connotation!
.
And even though “Great balls of fire” is no longer such a common exclamation-remark, this lewd, decades-old song, “Great balls of fire”, is still, occasionally being jokingly bandied about as a sexually-lewd inuendo!

“Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven”
Genesis 19:24

But the fact is, the Bible does indeed mention such a phenomenon. That is, in the Book of Genesis, God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, raining down fire & brimstone (great, fiery sulfur-balls) which immediately decimated those wicked cities (those great sulfur balls burning with fire, which caused them to quickly reduce in size.)
.
Nevertheless, around the watery graveyard of those cities (once-great & once-fertile cities now immersed beneath the Dead Sea), countless remnants of those great balls of fiery brimstone are still embedded in the surrounding miles of landscape. And there are Internet videos showing researchers finding and igniting some of the countless thousands of remnants!
.
In those videos you can witness them lighting the sulfur-balls on fire with a match, thus silencing most skeptics who cast doubt on the biblical account of Sodom’s destruction!

In this unbelieving, atheistic world, one would conclude that the existence of balls of brimstone still being found around that area might raise some eyebrows within the geological communities.
.
But those who have been in Christianity for many decades are only recently discovering this incredible phenomenon, all because of the various Internet videos now being produced in that region surrounding those ancient cities (those four cities long ago submersed in their watery grave at the bottom of the appropriately named, “Dead Sea”).

The Bible warns us that even though God once destroyed the world by water (the Great Flood), but has now determined a fiery deluge of this present world, because of our present-day wickedness!

But let’s not imagine that only those faithless secularists will be on the receiving end of this fiery judgment from Heaven! No, the Bible also warns the Christian community…
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:
and if it first begin at us,
what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
1st Peter 4:17
.
Yes, those who neglected a “better resurrection” will be numbered with the hypocrites when God’s fiery judgments rain down on this sodomite-world.
