TELEVISION: GREATEST INVENTION EVER?

Is the above title true?
.
Is television the greatest invention ever?
.
Well, one thing is for sure: television has had an enormous impact upon the world!
.
Truly, in many households, it has become the centerpiece of everyday life!
.
And also, it makes a wonderful babysitter for the young, and even a faithful friend to the old and to the infirm and to the confined.
.

But television has not remained constant.
.
No, rather, television has devolved from a somewhat quasi-moral beginning, and has gradually slipped down, down, down, into deeper and darker decadence and depravity, taking society down with it.
.
Since its first appearance in the mid 20th Century, it has morphed from a “Leave It To Beaver” mentality to a…well…let it suffice to say: it’s less than it once was, to put it mildly!

MIND CONTROL!

“Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causes to err from the words of knowledge.” Proverbs 9:27

This above verse cautions us to be careful about what we hear! False instruction has a deleterious effect upon our heart and soul!

HIGH-TECH BRAIN-WASHING

Of course, the Enemy of Souls understands this, and in these last days, Satan has developed the means of exerting mind-control over the masses: Christian and secular alike!
.
Yes, Satan knows that he is in danger of losing control over humanity, in these last days!
.
And so, in effort to marshal his vast armies, he has developed the means of “brain-washing” and exerting mind-control, via the high-tech devices now being used by more and more of the world’s populace!
.
Oh yes, these devices have a seemingly benign purpose for communication.

“THEY (people of the world) SHOULD MAKE AN IMAGE TO THE BEAST”…

Television (and Internet, etc.) is Satan’s Ultimate Mind-Control Device! It is a very powerful medium. The music, the lighting, the drama, the false goodness.
.
Television, Internet, radio, 
etc., all possess a powerful persuasion that is often more than humankind can resist.
.
As one Nazi leader once put it, “If you tell a lie often enough and loud enough, eventually people will begin to believe it!”
.
And television (and Internet, etc.) not only tells such lies 24/7/365, but also dresses up those lies, making them look and sound very appealing, mingling them with truth and beauty.

(The Second Beast) saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the (First) beast…”
Revelation 13:14

But what does this have to do with “Me” making an image to the Beast?
.
After all, I’ve never even carved one single statue in my lifetime!
.
But wait! If my character becomes conformed to the qualities which our modern-media society compels us to conform to…
.
…then I, myself, become an image…an image to Satan’s world…
.
…and ultimately, into an image of Satan, though to a lesser degree!
.
In a very real sense, I have carved an idol, an image in my heart!
.

“THEY HAVE NO CHANGES”
.
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1st Corinthians 15:33.
.
In the simplest terms, a person becomes changed into the image of what he or she fills up the heart and mind with.
.
This, by the way, is the essence of what the Mark of the Beast is all about: whose image, whose likeness have I been filling up my heart with?
.
And on Judgment Day, it says…
…”As a dream when one awakes;
so, O Lord, when Thou (God) awake,
Thou shalt despise their image.”
Psalm 73:20.
.
Yes, we’ve all wondered if God has been asleep on the job. But that Day is coming!
.
And our infinite, all-seeing God will not be slumbering on that Day!
.
And it will be revealed to each of us, just whose character has been impressed upon the tablets of our heart!

But we have this wonderful promise, that by beholding Jesus, through all-day contemplation of His Word, we can become changed, more-and-more into His glorious and wonderful image and likeness…

“But we all, with open face

are changed into the same image

even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2nd Corinthians 3:18

Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn.

As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below. He is very moral, you see!
