AN IGNORED PASSAGE

Praise God that He is actually a God who delights in mercy, even as it is written…
…“For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
But though He cause grief,
yet will He have compassion
according to the multitude of His mercies…”
Lamentations 3:31-34

It’s too bad that the so-called “orthodox” churches ignore so many passages as this one…

…passages which reveal a merciful God who does not needlessly torment souls.

THE DANGER OF REJECTING BIBLE VERSES

But God has written the Bible in such a way, that those who refuse to believe and accept ALL scripture, can and will, “stumble at the Word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.” 1st Peter 2:8.

Yes, the Bible is written in such a way that those who refuse to acknowledge EVERYTHING the Bible says will come up with such false doctrines as this “Eternal Torment” doctrine!

UNIVERSE, A PLACE OF ETERNAL TORMENT?

Can you imagine a universe in which billions of lost souls scream for mercy throughout the ceaseless age to come!?
.
Can you picture a formerly serene Heaven in which a sovereign God now turns a blind eye and a cold shoulder to vast throngs of lost souls who are suffering intensely for ever and ever and ever?
.
Can you visualize yourself blissfully winging your way through the eternal heavens, while your little atheist grandma is being mercilessly roasted in flames every moment throughout eternity, without even one drop of water?!
.
And why? Because she didn’t choose to follow Jesus!
.
Because she did not accept Salvation?
.
Is that the Good News which the Bible speaks about!?
.
No, that’s the Bad News preached by very world-loving, deceived, confused, and apostate churches!

MISUNDERSTANDING THE ALLEGORICAL NATURE OF PARABLES

This gross error was founded on a few passages, such as the Parable of the Rich Man & Lazarus, which is full of obvious exaggerations, and was never intended to be a literal description of eternity future.

NOT COMPARING SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE

And those who have decided that this Parable of the Rich Man & Lazarus must be the last word on the subject have ignored such passages as this…
…”Why died I not from the womb?
why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?…
For now should I have lain still and been quiet,
I should have slept: then had I been at rest…
There the wicked cease from troubling;
and there the weary be at rest.
There the prisoners rest together;
they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
The small and great are there;
and the servant is free from his master.”
Job 3:11, 13, 17-19 (condensed for the sake of brevity)

As this passage reveals, Hell (Sheol, “the grave”) is a place of sweet release from the horrors and hardships of this present world! It is a place of rest, not a place of endless torment!

WHY WOULD JOB DESIRE HELL!?

If Hell was a place of endless torment, Job would have never spoken (through the Holy Spirit), that he desired to be there!
.
Any earthly suffering would be far better than such a place of endless torment!
.
Even Job’s earthly afflictions would be slight in comparison to such a cruel place of endless torment!
.
No, the Holy Spirit would never have inspired Job to desire to go to the grave, alongside the wicked, if “Eternal Torment” would be awaiting him there!

NO MORE SORROW, CRYING, OR PAIN!

No, the universe will rather be a place in which it is written…
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.
And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Now this above passage reveals the kind of God that we can praise and love and adore for all time and eternity! A God who loves mercy!

ORION, THE GOOD SHEPHERD

This star-chart from Wikipedia, has Orion sketched in by the editor of this website.

With the addition of a single star, Theta Geminorum (the left hand of the Castor twin of Gemini), the sickle in Orion, the Reaper’s hand (sketch to left), now extends the blade, thus transforming that sickle into the hook of a shepherd’s rod and staff.
.
And so now this little Gemini star becomes the tip of Orion’s Shepherd’s rod & staff.
.
Thus with this additional star, Orion the Reaper Constellation now becomes the 5th personality of Orion: The Good Shepherd (sketch below right).
.
Theta Geminorum is a class A3, 4th magnitude star, which means it is much fainter than either of the stars, Castor or Pollux.
.
But faint as This little star may be, it nevertheless presents a giant concept, turning Orion’s sickle into a shepherd’s rod.
.
And this is a very wonderful and beautiful Bible truth: namely, that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, as is written…
.

“As a shepherd seeketh out his flock
in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered;
so will I seek out My sheep,
and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered
in the cloudy and dark day.”
Ezekiel 34:12
.
And so God has placed this Starry Shepherd in the winter-night heavens to remind us of His great love for a planet which has wandered away: just like sheep that wandered to where the grass looked greener.
