“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
Ephesians 2:2

Back in the 1970’s, a certain saying was popularized…“The Devil made me do it! The Devil made me do it!”
.
And this was merely the world’s way of mocking Christians, who were seemingly obsessed with pointing the finger at the Devil.
.
Then they could all mock “the silly and absurd notion” that Satan is a very active and powerful force controlling the world, by laughingly saying…“The Devil made me do it! The Devil made me do it!”

SATAN, “THE GOD OF THIS WORLD”
2nd Corinthians 4:4
.
But the horrifying fact is, the Devil does indeed cause the vast percentage of the world’s inhabitants to do a great amount of things!
.
After all, this above verse from Ephesians reveals that Satan is indeed… “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
.
And let’s face it! To admit that the entire world’s inhabitants are filled with this evil antichrist spirit is more than anybody is willing to accept, much less admit!

THE ENHANCED PLEASURES OF SIN!
.
Perhaps, one of the greatest proofs that an actual, literal Devil (Satan) exists, is the extraordinary pleasure that we all seem to derive from sin and selfishness.
.
Haven’t you ever asked yourself the question, “Why do I enjoy this world of sin so much? Why do I derive such pleasure from all my little selfish indulgences?”
.
And there are many who do not understand why they have so much pleasure in that cup of coffee, or in that TV show, or in that popular song, or in personal attractiveness, or even in an adulterous relationship.
.
And many pride themselves that they have great “libido”, attributing their sensuality to themselves.

A SPIRIT WITHIN
.
Well, the Bible reveals the answer to these questions…“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience…fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” Ephesians 2:2, 3
.
Here is revealed that there is a spirit which now works in the children of disobedience.
.
And so it is no wonder that sin and selfishness has such a powerful attraction over us!

SATAN ENHANCES THE PLEASURES OF SIN
.
Yes, the Bible makes clear that the “prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience” is now working to enhance the pleasures of sin, even as it says here…” fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;” verse 3.
.
And so, it is no mystery why the world is so content to remain in our lost condition!
.
Therefore, knowing all this, it is no marvel that so few are willing to renounce this world of sin to follow Jesus.

“A STUPID CUP OF COFFEE!?!”
.
Many little pleasures of everyday life, which we take for granted, may be enhanced by unseen evil angels, assigned to each of us to bind our hearts to this world of selfishness!
.
Even such things as a mere cup of coffee, to some TV show, or even some gratuitous shopping experience.
.
Yes, even the seemingly little everyday selfish pleasures are not beyond “the Prince of the Power of the Air”, in his attempt to further bind our hearts to this self-serving world and entangle us into “the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life”! (1st John 2:15-17)

THE PLEASURES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
.
But what the people of the world do not realize is, that the pleasures of Heaven are every bit as enjoyable as the pleasures of sin and selfishness!
.
Yes, the ways of Jesus are just as satisfying and pleasurable as any form of selfishness that Lucifer, “the god of this world” can offer! Even more so, because, the pleasures of sin are for the moment.
.
But the Bible reveals that the peace which God bestows upon His followers, is like an ever-flowing river! They never cease! (see Isaiah 48:18)
.

“THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH!”
Romans 6:23
.
And let’s face it! The pleasures of sin and selfishness only lead us to the grave.
.
But the pleasures of Heaven will lead us to life-everlasting!
.
And everlasting joy and peace!
.

.
.
“WHY WILL YE DIE?…TURN YOURSELVES AND LIVE!”
Ezekiel 18:31, 32
.
And so, knowing these things, why in the world would we ever be content to remain servants of sin, Satan, death?
.
Why would we ever want to die in our sins and selfish little pleasures?
.
Why would we not rather get on board this Gospel Ship which is leaving this presently dying world, and embark on an exciting journey which will only get better and better, as the ions of time pass?
.

“THE PATH OF LIFE…FULLNESS OF JOY…PLEASURES FOR EVERMORE!”
.
Listen to the Sweet Psalmist of Israel…“Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11

WOW! What a promise! “Pleasures for evermore!”

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON
.
“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Revelation 12:3
.
In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.
.
But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.
.
The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).
