WOW! What a world we live in!
.
Just turn on the TV or surf through the Internet! And it doesn’t take long to realize that we live in a very unequal world!
.
New cars we can’t possibly afford!
.
Mansions we’ll never live in!
.
Beautiful people we can’t possibly measure up to!
.
Riches and wealth we could never attain!
.
Athletes we could never compete with!
.
Songs we could never compose!
.
Talents we simply do not possess!
.
Careers we could never qualify for!
.
Vacation resorts we might never enjoy!
.
Yes, this is the world we live in!

“Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.”
Psalm 73:12

Oh yes, there are those who do seem to measure up to the high standards which society exalts before our eyes each day, and before the eyes of our children.
.
And those who do seem to live a charmed life in one way or another, give us no comfort as we struggle with our own personal inadequacies!
.
Oh yes, we desire to be like them.
.
Even the Psalmist wrote…“For I was envious…
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked…
They are not in trouble as other men;
neither are they plagued like other men…
Their eyes stand out with fatness:
they have more than heart could wish…
Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world;
they increase in riches.”
Psalm 73:3, 5, 7, 12
.
Yes, even this Psalmist was jealous as he looked at the charmed life of others who were not plagued on a daily basis as he was.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise…”
.
But God has not often chosen the rich or the strong or the worldly wise or the mighty to be rich in faith.
.
Listen…“For ye see your calling, brethren,
how that not many wise men after the flesh,
not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;
and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world,
and things which are despised, hath God chosen,
yea, and things which are not,
to bring to nought, things that are…”
1st Corinthians 1:26-28
.
Here we see that God exalts exactly the opposite of what the world exalts!
.
He mostly chooses those who are not the wisest, nor the strongest, nor the most beautiful, nor the richest to be His ambassadors to this lost world.

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY”
Proverbs 25:25

Well, the extremely Good News is that those who have had their eyes opened to Heaven’s Truth are actually the richest of the rich!
.
This is because they possess the unsearchable riches of eternal life and the true wisdom which the unsaved world cannot know, nor comprehend! (Ephesians 3:8, Revelation 5:12, James, 3:15-17)
.
Yes, they are teaming up with the God of infinite power, wisdom, and universal love!
.
And among those heavenly riches are the virtues of sympathy and Christlike compassion even for those who prosper in this world, yet are not rich toward God!
.
And we constantly pray that they too might escape this graveyard, called Planet Earth, in which all lost souls will be merely return to dust-in-the-wind for all time and eternity.

…even like faithful Enoch, walking through the highways and byways of life in this world…

…spreading the Gospel-seed of unpretentious love.

…day by day, you will become more and more closed in with God…
.
…moment by moment, your heart will become intertwined with God’s heart…
.
…eventually two hearts beating as one heart.

And just like Enoch,

…when the appointed time of sojourning on earth is finally done…
.
…you will walk onward…and upward…
.
…and into the highways and byways of eternity.
