“The Eternal Beauty Salon!”

we spend our years as a tale that is told.
The days of our years are threescore years and ten;
and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years,
yet is their strength labour and sorrow;

Somewhere in the foggy mist along the Pacific Coast Highway 101, appears a little beauty salon which calls itself, “The Eternal Beauty Salon”.
.
And no doubt, they perform their wonderful arts in making women beautiful!
.
But as good as they may be, nobody really takes the “Eternal” part of their name seriously! Because we all know that our lives only last a few decades!

LOSING PETALS
.
Yes, by the time we are 21 years old, without us knowing it, our life quietly begins its downward progression!
.
And by the time we reach 30, and we might even see crow’s feet burrowing around our eyes. But then by 40, we seriously look older! And on and on it goes!
.
It’s the death
process working in us!
.
The Bible says… “All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withers, the flower fades:” Isaiah 40:6, 7
.
Yes, just as it is impossible to stop a flower from losing its petals, so also, it’s impossible to stop ourselves from getting old!
.
And we finally return to the dust.

THE BEAUTY OF GOD’S CREATIONS
. 
But in spite of your’s and my inescapable death sentence, isn’t it also true that we live in a beautiful world, in many respects!
.
There’s so much of nature to enjoy!
.
The sights and sounds and smells of nature were all given, by The Creator, for our enjoyment while we live out our 7 or 8 decades on earth!

PERSONAL BEAUTY

And let’s face it! Many people have been blessed to be attractive.
.
And if these take special care of their health, they might be able to preserve their attractiveness for another decade or so!

RENTING BEAUTY!
.
And then there are individuals who have the money to surround themselves with beauty.
.
But all this is only on a temporary basis. For instance, just consider the glamorous and stately Hearst Castle. All its inhabitants have now been long since removed! Only the silent echoes of its past revelries still resound through the empty halls.
.
So in truth, we are only renters here, and not actual owners!
.

SOLOMON’S GLORY!
.
Now take King Solomon, for an example of “having it all!” Yes, Solomon was by far, the richest man who ever lived, surrounding himself with beauty and grandeur beyond anything we now 
can see in the world…
.
Listen to this man Solomon’s own description of his possessions…“I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.” Ecclesiastes 2:4-10
.
Yes, King Solomon had it all! Besides being very handsome and intelligent, his kingdom was laden with spectacular walkways made of massive precious stones: all these leading to gilded palaces filled with many beautiful women-of-royalty, all desiring to be with this most infamous of all earthly kings! Yes, Solomon had it all, it seems!

ALL WAS EMPTY AND MEANINGLESS!

But you know what? Solomon discovered that all those countless pleasures and priceless 
treasures did not bring him true happiness!

Listen again to Solomon…Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun!” Ecclesiastes 2:11
.
Solomon discovered that all those many pleasures and all that exquisite beauty brought him no true fulfillment or lasting happiness. No, Solomon, by experimentation, was made to realize that the pleasures and treasures of this very brief life only bring, “vanity (meaninglessness) and vexation of Spirit!”
.
And he saw that there was, “no profit under the Sun!”
.

TIME STEALS AWAY ALL EARTHLY RICHES!
.
Yes, time eventually took away all of Solomon’s treasures!
.
Solomon grew old! And his shiny black locks eventually lost their dark color and bright sheen! And his ruddy, youthful complexion eventually turned into ashen grey wrinkles! And as 
time passed, instead of walking upright in his kingly pride, Solomon’s back began to bow down! And he began to lose teeth. And he became incontinent! And his voice became gravelly! And his beautiful wives all became old and not so attractive!
.
And finally poor Solomon himself returned to the dust of the earth!
.
Listen once more to Solomon…“because man goeth to his long home (the grave), and the mourners (worms) go about the streets (veins)…Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:5, 7
.
And so Solomon concludes by saying…“Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.” Ecclesiastes 12:8

PARADISE AWAITS!
.
Well, there is some extremely Good News here! Yes, even though we may not have been so blessed with personal attractiveness in this life, yet there is great hope! You see, we can choose to follow Jesus, as He leads His sheep up the narrow pathway, which leads to eternal life! And that pathway begins at one’s very own front door! In his or her own heart!
.
And that pathway leads to a land of unimaginable beauty and love and peace, and joy and contentment! It’s a land “where the roses never fade”, as one old song puts it!
.
And it is a land in which we will be forever young, as another song puts it!
.
And there we will walk firm and upright! And we will never grow full of wrinkles.
.
And we will all have a full set of gleaming white teeth and a full head of hair!
.
And we will, “grow up as calves of the stall.”! Malachi 4:2
.
And the agape love in that land will surpass anything that this sorry old world knows!
.
So the question is, with all these promises of God, what on earth is keeping us from renouncing this hopeless world, and following Jesus up that pathway to the heavenly Promised Land of TRUE eternal beauty: Christ’s beauty?

FLOWER OF THE FIELD CONSTELLATION
.
This is perhaps one of the most amazing constellations that God has created! It truly looks like a flower, and appears to be blowing in the direction of westward. But as autumn draws near, this constellation appears to bow itself down, just like the flowers of Earth bow down, at the summer’s end.
.
And these are not merely obscure stars. These are among the biggest and brightest stars in the night heavens!
.
The Two Turtle-Doves Constellation is also known as Sagittarius .
.
The Flower of the Field is commonly known as Scorpio .
.
But there is another obvious aspect to this constellation group. Notice that the birds are flying in the same direction as the flower is bending; it is as if the east wind is blowing these heavenly messengers…
.
“The wind blows where it desires, and you hear the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it comes, and where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8.
.
So here is another incredible Bible concept, written in the heavens! And God has spoken of these signs! Listen… “For ever, O LORD, Thy Word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89
.

FLOWER CONSTELLATION BOWS DOWN…

It has become apparent, on this date, that as summer draws to a close, this “Flower of the Field” “Constellation appears to bend almost completely down. This occurs as it travels into the western skies. It somehow rotates in order to produce this effect. This is a very wonderful phenomenon…and biblical too! After all, the Bible says “the grass withers and the flower falls away”. And that’s exactly what this flower constellation seems to do.
.
It almost seems to be bowing itself…in the direction of that bright and beautiful star, “Arcturus” (which represents Jesus). This would make sense. After all, Scripture states…
.
“…unto me (the Lord), every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear… Bel bows down, Nebo stoops… They stoop, they bow down together… Listen to me… all you remnant of the house of Israel (God’s people)… which are carried from the womb: And even to your old age I am he… even I will carry, and will deliver you.” Isaiah 46″1-4 (condensed)
