Part 7:

“Babylonian Sun Worship” CONTINUED

THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF YESTERDAY’S DEVOTIONAL, CLICK HERE TO READ

“And He (God) brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house,

.

and, behold…twenty-five men,

.

with their backs toward the temple of the LORD,

.

and their faces toward the east;

.

and they worshipped the sun toward the east”

Alexander Hislop, a 19th-Century Gospel minister, made a compelling case in his renowned (and much despised and maligned) **book, The Two Babylons.**

.

Hislop went step-by-step, showing that the various customs, practices, doctrines, and holidays of the Romish religion were actually originated in ancient Babylon and other neighboring pagan cultures.

.

SUNDAY SACREDNESS?

.

Now, today’s devotional is concerned with just one of those ancient doctrines, Sunday observance.

.

VERY SLOPPY BIBLE INTERPRETATION!

.

But the real problem comes in when church leaders and theologians concoct and canonize a new day of worship without any biblical authority.

.

Listen to this stark warning from God…

“Every word of God is pure:

He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.

Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee,

and thou be found a liar.”

Proverbs 30:5, 6

.

God is very jealous for His Word. Nothing should be added nor taken away from His Word (no matter how insignificant such a change may seem!)

.

And let’s face it! The Bible has been written by God to be an inerrant, infallible legal document.

.

It is an air-tight contract!

.

“For precept must be upon precept…line upon line”

Isaiah 28:10

.

But when mere erring humans begin to make church doctrines based on faulty and incomplete scriptural interpretation, they break that sacred covenant.

.

**In other words, this new sabbath day requires its adherents to make conclusions of its sacredness based on assumption and presumption rather than on a plain, “Thus saith the Lord”.**

.

They must take a theological leap across all biblical prudence in order to justify that day.

.

We cannot just concoct a new holy day from midnight to midnight on the 1st day of the week using sola-scriptura, “The Bible only”! It’s just not there!

.

A THEOLOGICAL LEAP TO ASSUME CHRIST’S RESURRECTION JUSTIFIES A NEW SANCTIFIED DAY OF WORSHIP.

.

And yes, Jesus was resurrected on the 1st Day of the week.

.

But that in itself does not validate nor condone any concocting of a new sabbath, or a new sanctified day of church gathering to worship.

.

And oh yes, as already said, the Church could have met on this or any other day of the week and hopefully on all seven days!

.

But for the most part, they didn’t.

.

And yet, in the Book of Acts, we see that the early Church did indeed meet every day of the week, as is written…“And they (Jesus’ followers), continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house” Acts 2:46

.

But as Alexander Hislop painstakingly laid out in his book, The Two Babylons, the current-day church world is following its ‘Mother Church’, which has her roots deeply embedded in ancient Babylonian/pagan festivals, traditions, and doctrines.

.

Yes, Sunday worship is actually a weekly pagan celebration once known as “The Venerable Day of the Sun”, which Emperor Constantine, an avowed Sun worshiper, incorporated into the Christian religion…

.

…in attempt to make Christianity more acceptable, not only to himself, but to the sun-worshiping pagan world, as well.

.

And so, he brought this and several other Babylonian holidays into the Christian world, giving them a thin Christian veneer: Easter (the resurrection of Tammuz, spoken of in Ezekiel 8:14) and Christmas (Saturnalia).

.

Listen…“On 7 March 321,

Constantine I, Rome’s first Christian Emperor

decreed that Sunday would be observed as the Roman day of rest:

On the venerable Day of the Sun

let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest,

and let all workshops be closed.”

And considering all the other various unbiblical and Babylonian-based customs and holidays which the current-day church now celebrates, it should make it abundantly clear that the churches have become assimilated into this present-day Babylonian world.

The Good News is, that there is still time to flee out of Babylon, and save our soul, even as it is written…

“Flee out of the midst of Babylon,

and deliver every man his soul:

be not cut off in her iniquity;

for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance;

He will render unto her a recompense.

Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand,

that made all the earth drunken:

the nations have drunken of her wine;

therefore the nations are mad.”

Jeremiah 51:6, 7

Yes, God’s true worshipers are warned to flee from the wrath to come, just as surely as Lot fled out of Sodom on the morning of its tragic demise!

WHY IS THIS WOMAN RUNNING SO FAST?

**This Woman of Revelation 12 is definitely fleeing to the mountains .**

As you can see in this sketch below, The Dragon of Revelation 12 is spewing out his water of falsehoods: false gospels, false ideologies, various temptations, false brethren who will embrace her with the poisonous wine of the The Great Harlot of Babylon.
