In the Part 1 (click here), the concept was presented of a man living on a deserted island finding a King James Bible, and beginning to study it, completely unprejudiced by church-doctrines and man’s opinions.

And so, let’s begin where we left off…

BEING HID IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE
.
Now, because it was NOT the Vernon-McGee Study Bible that washed ashore, this naïve and pristine Bible student had to rely only on what the Bible says…
“Because thou hast kept the word of My patience,
I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation,
which shall come upon all the world,
to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
Revelation 3:10
.
Yes, because this “un-churched” Bible student could not read the personal comments found in most of today’s “study Bibles”, this Deserted Island Theologian had only to rely on what the Bible says in this message to the Church of Philadelphia, regarding them being kept from “the hour of temptation”.

BIBLE NEVER SAYS THAT THE CHURCH IS REMOVED FROM EARTH DURING THE TIME OF TROUBLE
.
And nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Philadelphians must be taken physically out of the world, in order to escape that “hour of temptation”.
.
No, this castaway theologian would only have to rely on what God’s Word says concerning being taken out of the world…
“The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart:
and merciful men are taken away,
none considering that the righteous is taken away
from the evil to come.”
Isaiah 57:1
.
Yes, this verse from Isaiah 57 explains what happened to the Church of Philadelphia: they all died! Well, didn’t they? After all, they lived in the first century, A.D.. So, they all probably died in faith.
.
But not only did they physically die, but prior to their physical death, they died-to-self in Christ.
.
And those today, who likewise die-to-self, will no longer live, yet Christ will live out His life in them and through them!

SPIRITUALLY IN HEAVEN
.
And so, the Bible tells us that we indeed will be removed from the earth during the fulfillment of the Revelation of Jesus Christ: in death!
.
But while some will be literally removed by actually dying, yet others will be hidden from God’s wrath, during those days!
.

“YE MAY BE HID IN THE DAY OF THE LORD’S ANGER”

Yes, we will be hidden during that fearful hour!
.
This is explained in Zephaniah 2:3…
“Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth,
which have wrought His judgment;
seek righteousness, seek meekness:
it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.”
.
Yes, this un-groomed Bible student is now beginning to understand just where he will be during that last great Time of Trouble, soon to pass over the entire world!
.
He will be hidden!
.

“…yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.”
Psalm 57:1
.
And in his many days of searching, this island-bound Bible student also found this next passage…
.
Listen to this same concept, of being hidden, expanded upon…
“Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers,
and shut thy doors about thee:
hide thyself as it were for a little moment,
until the indignation be overpast.
For, behold, the LORD cometh out of His place
to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity:
the earth also shall disclose her blood,
and shall no more cover her slain.”
Isaiah 26:20, 21.

Oh, so here is where God’s living saints will be kept from the “hour of temptation”! They will be hidden with Christ in, “Heavenly Places” (see Ephesians 2:5, 6)
.
And so, this above passage speaks of this coming Time of Trouble as a storm, in which Christians need to hide themselves until “the indignation be overpast”.
.
Therefore, hiding one’s self in his or her chambers, till the indignation is over-past is certainly different from being physically removed out of the earth, wouldn’t you agree?

“THOU ART MY HIDING PLACE!”
.
“Thou art my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:7
.
This above Psalm of David reveals where the Christian is to hide, during times of trouble!
.
This is one reason why God placed us in this troubled world: to learn how to trust God, even during the storms of life!
.
Listen again… “For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion:
in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me;
He shall set me up upon a Rock.
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me:
therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy;
I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.”
Psalm 27:5, 6.
.
So here it says that in the Time of Trouble, we must hide ourselves in Christ! That is where our heads will be lifted up above our enemies!
.
And David’s troubled life is a very good example of the trials that God’s people must go through in these last days!
.
After all, the Bible is a book all about God’s people faithfully facing the many trials and tribulations which come upon us, time and time again!

DESERTED ISLAND THEOLOGIANS!
.
Well, this concept of the “Deserted Island Theologian” seems to work very well in these days of apostasy, which we are now in!
.
Yes, it seems this “Deserted Island Theology” method of Bible study, has just knocked out the major non-biblical pillars of the so-called, Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory!
.
This is because this Scofield-contrived, Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory must be propped up by the non-biblical pillars, that have been focused on in today’s devotional.
.

RE-EXAMINE SCRIPTURE WITH EYES AFRESH
.
And just one more verse that this Deserted Island Theologian found…
“But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you,
and ye need not that any man teach you:
but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie,
and even as it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in him.”
1st John 2:27.
.
Finding this above passage, assured this Deserted Island Theologian that he can rest confident under his palm tree, confident that he needs not to be under the authority of any earthly Bible teacher or church denomination. God here has promised to be his teacher!
.
And, we have come to a point in time, in which it is extremely critical that each Christian does his (or her) own homework!
.
And if only we could be a bit more like that Deserted Island Theologian, then we might discover that much of what we have been taught is not really according to the pristine Word of truth!
