The Revelation 12 Crown Constellation,

Part 1: “Hold Fast To What Thou Hast!”

“Behold, I come quickly:

hold that fast which thou hast,

that no man take thy crown.”

Revelation 3:11

.

.

.

.

.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:New-Year_Resolutions_list.jpgThis above verse is probably one of the most important passages in the Bible!

.

And probably one of the least obeyed!

.

Because, isn’t it true that it’s so easy in this world, to let go of good habits?

MAKING AND BREAKING OUR VOWS

.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:La_Gula_II_Gluttony_II.jpgYes, we make vows, and then we break vows!

.

Maybe we fall off our New Year’s diet!

.

Or we go back to smoking!

.

Or we begin to have “just one glass” of wine again.

.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Taunting_0001.jpgOr we begin again to engage in gossiping!

.

Or fall off our daily workout at the gym!

.

Well, the list is seemingly endless regarding the things that we let slip away!

“A LITTLE SLEEP…SO SHALL THY POVERTY COME!”

Proverbs 6:10, 11

.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lunch_Break_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1124457.jpgAnd so it is also in the Christian’s daily warfare!

.

Maybe we fall off our daily Bible study.

.

Or we begin again to watch “just a little television”.

.

Or we begin hanging out with the old crowd again.

.

Or whatever other old habit we might be inclined to fall back into.

.

This is perhaps, the greatest single danger to our Christian walk. This is the ultimate slippery slope that the Christian may inadvertently fall into!

.

And when the Christian falls back into one old habit, you can just guess that the Devil has a few more old habits for that Christian to fall back into!

THE SIGNS OF HEAVEN

.

God has placed a marvelous set of constellations in the night-sky to illustrate just what is at stake in the Christians, “good fight of faith”.

.

Yes, there is a constellation named “The Glorious 12-Star Crown of Revelation 12 Constellation” (scroll to this page’s bottom to see more detailed information about this constellation)

.

And right next to this constellation is the Revelation 12 Woman Constellation, which features a woman-with-child grasping for that Glorious Crown!

.

Well there is much more to all these heavenly signs, which can be explored by going to the “Signs Of Heaven” website.

.

.

.

.

.

“…THAT NO MAN TAKE THY CROWN!”

.

But needless to say, these heavenly signs give us a pictorial scenario of what today’s signature verse is all about…“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Revelation 3:11

.

Yes, this crown represents our Salvation. And even though we do not fully understand all the details of this crown, nevertheless, Revelation 3:11 is a fearful warning that the Christian should exercise great care that he or she does not take their Salvation for granted!

“KEEP THY HEART WITH ALL DILIGENCE!”

.

The Christian must maintain vigilant watchfulness at all times! The eternal destiny is nothing to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USMC-06831.jpgtake casually.

.

Listen…“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:23-27

.

And so, as this above passage warns, the Christian must be watchful, vigilant, circumspect at all times!

“I SAY UNTO ALL, WATCH!”

.

Here is a stark warning from Jesus…

.

Listen…“Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the Master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” Mark 13:35-37

.

Here again is yet another fearful warning to God’s professed people, which should not be lightly regarded! “WATCH!”

.

“BECAUSE I CALLED…AND NO MAN REGARDED”

Proverbs 1:24

.

One amazing aspect to the Glorious Crown Constellation is that it is a rather dim constellation compared to most of the other constellations on this website. This, no doubt, is because God wants us to realize how little regarded that the Christian Crown is to most church-goers! Yes, we rarely think about the importance of winning this crown as we go about our day-by-day routines! This great truth shines very dimly in the minds of most of us, as we often get so overcharged with our mundane daily duties.http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Poor_man_reading.jpg

.

And yet, the kingdom of Heaven and Heaven’s Jesus are the absolute most important aspect of our lives! And it would be better to be a homeless and poverty-stricken but a prayerful Bible student, than to be wealthy without the heart and mind fixed upon God’s Word and prayer!

DON’T FORGET THESE THINGS!

.

Listen to Peter…“For if these things (God’s promises, faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USMC-081218-M-4507D-001.jpgpatience, godliness, brotherly kindness, Charity) be in you, and abound…But he that lacketh these things is blind…give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall…Wherefore I will not be negligent TO PUT YOU ALWAYS IN REMEMBRANCE OF THESE THINGS…Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up BY PUTTING YOU IN REMEMBRANCE…Moreover I will endeavor that ye may be able after my decease to HAVE THESE THINGS ALWAYS IN REMEMBRANCE.” 2nd Peter 1:8, 9, 12, 13, 15

.

Three times in the 1st Chapter of 2nd Peter, he repeats the importance of not forgetting about these virtues, to have them in us and do them! Three times!

.

So by God’s thrice repetition through Peter, it can be assumed that the Lord wants us to know how easily we can let these things slip away from us if we’re not careful!

Proverbs 25:25

.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Angel_prayers.jpgWell, the Good News is, that this is still the Day of Salvation!

.

And there is no better day to turn away from our indifference and spiritual lethargy, and begin to beg the Lord for repentance and heart revival!

.

After all, we have everything to gain, and everything to lose in our Christian Race before us!

FIVE WISE VIRGINS STARS

.

This constellation was identified on May 22nd, 2014. It is simply five stars, two from the Serpens Constellation, and three from the Hercules Constellation.

Wikipedia Star-Chart - Corona Borealis

.

What gives this constellation impetus and significance is that it appears as five evenly positioned stars, in a slight oval pattern, as if they were sitting in a meeting, listening, or perhaps watching someone.

.

Second, they appear to be gathered in front of The Crown of Revelation 12 Constellation. (just below Corona Borealis in this Wikipedia star-chart, in which the editor of this site sketched in these two constellations)

GATHERED AROUND GLORIOUS CROWN!

Corona Borealis/Bootes & Five Wise Virgins

.

The position of these stars is significant in a number of ways. The first, being that these Five Wise Virgins are gathered around the 12-star Crown of Revelation 12. And the obvious message here is, that these wise virgins represent the faithful portion of God’s Church. And as wise virgins, they understand the importance of winning the glorious crown of victory, which Jesus promised.

.

Listen… “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.” 1st Corinthians 9:24, 25.

.

And so, God is showing us the difference between the wise and the foolish in His Church. While the wise are gathered around this crown of victory, the foolish are nowhere to be found.

Revelation 3:11

.

.

.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tissot_Moses_and_the_Ten_Commandments.jpg

This above verse is perhaps the hardest saying in the entire Bible…“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Revelation 3:11

.

And just why could this possibly be the hardest saying in the Bible?

.

Simple! Because it’s so easy to let good things slip away!

.

.

.

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:”

Proverbs 24:16

For example, if a Believer decides to adopt the regimen of setting aside three special times a day for prayer, it’s so easy to eventually let these special times slip away.

.

Maybe some crisis occurs, or some lifestyle interruption, or just too many cares and pleasures pile up, causing the Believer to fall off this schedule of thrice-daily prayer-time.

.

.

CREEPING COMPROMISE

.

Quite often, the Believer will be tempted into a certain bad habit or nagging sin. And he or she decides to compromise by allowing some seemingly lesser substitute instead.http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Offering_a_toast_with_sparkling_wine_flutes.jpg

.

Maybe that Believer tries to overcome the temptation to drink by only allowing  himself to drink “Near-Beer”.

.

Or a former cigarette addict decides to overcome the temptation to go back to smoking, by substituting with e-cigarettes.

.

Or he decides to once again to go back to watching “just a little television”.

.

In each case, such tempted ones will eventually fall back into the real thing! The “Near-Beer” drinker will most likely find himself back to drinking the real thing. And the e-cigarette smoker, in a moment of weakness, will light up a real cigarette. And the television watcher will find himself watching more and more programs.

.

“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways:”

.

The Bible clearly teaches…“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways:” Proverbs 14:14http://www.joyfulheart.com/easter/tissot-passion.htm

.

Yes, God sees right through our hearts. He knows that we may still be secretly, even unconsciously harboring lust for this-or-that pleasurable sin. And so, in His mercy, He will sometimes allow the Devil to sift us as wheat, just as he did to Peter on the night he denied His Lord.

And God may just decide to allow our sins to fester out like Job’s sore boils, causing us to completely fall back into our old sins.

.

And so, we must decide to never allow our selves to capitulate with temptation!

.

“…They hid for me their net in a pit”https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:La_Gula_II_Gluttony_II.jpg

Psalm 35:7

.

But here is where it becomes really difficult!

.

Because, just when we make vows, the Devil often will come along, and patiently draw us back into that old besetting sin, so that all those noble resolutions become like worthless ropes of sand!

.

.

.

.

.

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation (lifestyle) the Old Man”

Ephesians 4:22

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USMC-06831.jpg

.

So what’s the answer? How can we overcome our “Old Man” who desires to gain control of our life and soul?

.

Listen to James 4:6-10…“Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Angel_prayers.jpgwill flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.”

.

This above prescription for spiritual victory is not just for a night, or a week, but is for a lifetime. Yes, until we fully overcome the world, the flesh, and the Devil, we must take on this type of repentance and seeking after God’s mercy and grace.

“As sorrowful yet alway rejoicing!”

http://lavistachurchofchrist.org/Pictures/The%20Early%20Church%20Artwork/target8.html

.

But do not despair, O tried and tempted one! For as we allow God to purify us and deliver us from that “Old Man” within, we will find joy, even in the midst of our tears…“behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing…” 2nd Corinthians 6:9, 10

.

And so, this seeming paradox of being sorrowful, yet always rejoicing will be ours, just as Paul rejoiced in the midst of his trials, if indeed, we allow God’s chastening Hand to continue to do its work in our hearts.

‘They that sow in tears…shall doubtless come again rejoicing!”

http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-photo/jeastty/3/1303829593/mall-witnessing.jpg/tpod.htmlAnd one day soon, this next prophecy will find its fulfillment in our lives…“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5, 6

.

And once this promise is fulfilled for us, we will never ever compromise with sin again; but we will instead hold fast to, and walk continually by every single “great and precious promise” which the Bible declares!

Proverbs 14:14

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:New-Year_Resolutions_list.jpgIn Part 1 of this “Hold Fast To What Thou Hast!” devotional (click here), it was presented just how critically important it is to hold fast to the good habits and virtues which Heaven blesses Believers with.

.

But before the reader is left worrying that God is ready to grab away a Believer’s crown, this 2nd installment will be offered to present the manner in which the Lord works within the hearts and lives of His people, the true worshipers of God.

FILLED WITH OUR OWN WAYS!

.

Listen again to the signature verse for today’s devotional…“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways:” Proverbs 14:14

.

Now, many Bible students reading this might get the idea that this is speaking of the secular world. Or maybe that it also includes the false brethren in the Church.

.

But this above verse, while it may indeed include those other two groups of people, deals primarily with those who are the chosen people of God!

LUKEWARM LAODICEANS

.

Listen to this next passage to the Church at Laodicea…“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth…I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich…” (Revelation 3:15-18 click here to read the entire passage)

.

This is not speaking of merely those who are lost souls in the Church. No, but rather, Christ is speaking to the angel of this Lukewarm Church. He is counseling true worshipers to buy from Him, “gold, tried in the fire”!

GOD, A REFINER OF OF SILVER AND GOLD

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Como-investir-ouro.jpg.

Well, just listen to this next passage from Malachi 3:2, 3…“But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? for He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”

.

Here God reveals Himself as a refiner of silver and gold. And all this in reference to the “sons of Levi”.

THE CHURCH: A “ROYAL PRIESTHOOD”

Listen…“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:” 1st Peter 2:9

“The backslider in heart

Proverbs 14:14

.

In the Book of Job (pronounced with a long “o”), we read the he was “the greatest of all men of the east” Job 1:3

And outwardly, Job was “perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.” Job 1:1

JOB’S TRIALS BEGIN

But the day arrived when God allowed Satan to sift Job, even as Satan sifted Peter, “as wheat”. Luke 22:31

.

Yes, the horrible trials brought upon Job were designed to see whether or not he would curse God.

ALL FINGERS POINT AT JOB

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Job_Rebuked_by_His_Friends_Butts_set.jpg.

But then, as this wonderful story unfolds, his three “miserable comforters” Eliphaz, http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Job_and_his_friends.jpgBildad, and Zophar each engaged in a very long dialogue with Job, pointing their fingers and accusing him of all sorts of sins as the cause for God’s curse to come upon him.

.

And then after that, Elihu, the young man who patiently waited until the three “friends” had finished accusing Job, began to speak.

.

The next few chapters contain Elihu’s correct assessment of Job: inward sin which God was attempting to reveal to Job.

“THE LORD ANSWERED JOB OUT OF THE WHIRLWIND”

Job 38:1

.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bonnat02.jpgAnd finally, God Himself chimed in, asking Job questions far above anything that Job could answer.

.

The reason for these questions was to make Job realize that God has purposes far higher than mankind can know or understand.

“I SHALL COME FORTH AS GOLD!”

.

And so, God allowed the Devil to send those fiery trials upon Job, to cleanse out the hidden sins of pride, anger, self-righteousness, and self-pity from Job’s heart.

.

Just listen to Job’s very own words…“But He (God) knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

.

Here is revealed that it was God’s intention to allow Job’s fiery trials to ultimately root out these inner sins, which nobody knew about except God.

.

Yes, Job now fully understood that his fiery trials were brought upon him by God Himself, for the purpose of exposing his sins to himself. And Job finally realized how great and wonderful that God is, and what an unrighteous sinner that he (Job) actually was.

.

But Job finally emerged out of his trials totally cleansed. And God blessed Job with long life and twice as much as he had prior to his trials!

IN THE MIRY PIT

.

Many of us (including this website’s editor) have been careless and sloppy, and have allowed Satan to steal away our heaven-sent gifts, letting him snatch them from us, as a thief might do!

.

And because of this, God has allowed the Devil to fill us with our own sinful ways! “A backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways” applies to us! God has filled us with our backsliding ways! And as a result, we have fallen into that proverbial “miry pit”, spoken of in such places as Job 30:19… “He (God) hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.”

.

But God has allowed this to happen to us, that in the end, our fiery trials will burn away the dross from our hearts, so that like Job, we too will “come forth as gold”.

“THERE SHALL BE WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH”

Matthew 8:12

.

When we read that “a backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways”, we must http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Job_and_his_friends.jpgremember http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Job_and_his_friends.jpgwhat happened to Job. He had to go through a specified amount of time of suffering before God gave him victory.

.

And so it is with God’s disobedient people. We too must serve out our time of punishment. That’s possibly why we sometimes must suffer by repeating the same nagging sin over and over until the day we finally get victory over that sin. God wants us to become thoroughly sick of that sin. And just as God sent Judah through 70 years of captivity for their sins, so also we must serve out our time in the miry pit, unable to get out until we have fully been cured of that lust.

The Good News is, that by hiding God’s great and precious promises in our hearts, we might go http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:USMC-06831.jpgthrough these trials, relying on those promises to guide us and to give us peace in the midst of the storm ahead.

.
