Have you ever seen an Alligator Snapping Turtle? It’s an amazing sight to behold! This great deceiver lies at the bottom of the water just waiting to catch an unsuspecting fish!
.
But the manner in which this turtle catches its prey is a remarkable aspect of nature…
.
Listen to Wikipedia’s description… “The inside of the turtle’s mouth is camouflaged, and it possesses a vermiform (literally, “worm-shaped”) appendage on the tip of its tongue, used to lure fish, a form of Peckhamian mimicry.
.
“The turtle hunts by lying motionless in the water with its mouth wide open. The vermiform tongue imitates the movements of a worm, luring prey to the turtle’s mouth. The mouth is then closed with tremendous speed and force, completing the ambush.”

SATAN’S DECEPTIVE WORLD!

We live in a world very similar to the great jaws of the Alligator Snapping Turtle! Yes, we live in a world, well, to put it bluntly, which is pretty much a great big lie!
.
Oh yes, God is ultimately in control of what goes on here! And yes, this world is functional, providing us with our daily needs: food and clothing and housing, etc….
.
But make no mistake, “the god of this world”, is the Devil! (see 2nd Corinthians 4:4) And he has designed this world in much the same way that God designed that worm-like tongue of the Alligator Snapping Turtle! This world is a great deception, in so many ways! And just like that turtle’s worm-like luring tongue, so also is this very alluring world!

THE EVOLUTION HOAX
.
As an example of this world’s deceitfulness and treachery, for many decades, the Master-Deceiver, “the god of this world”, has been brainwashing our children into atheism in the public schools! (see 2nd Corinthians 4:4)
.
Yes, Satan, uses erring men to perpetuate the false science called “Evolution”, quite often using myths and hoaxes as proof of this devilish-designed ideology.
.
Even schoolbooks are repeating the fake myths and hoaxes, already exposed and discredited decades earlier, using the same phony charts and imaginary pictures once created by artists, all in attempt to keep the lie of “Evolution” going!
.
And now, public schools are even re-writing history books to promote racism!

WE DO NOT CHOOSE OUR RULERS!

For another example, we who live in democratic nations, elect our representatives. We are told that we are free. And yes, we do have freedoms which are not enjoyed in many other nations. And because the Gospel was accepted by the forefathers of this nation, we still have the remnants of Christian ideals, which set us apart from those nations which do not have a Christian heritage.
.
Yes, we are fortunate to live where we do, for many reasons!
.
But there is one great deception which almost this entire society does not recognize. That is, for some reason, the Christian community believes that we have the God-given duty to go into the polling booth and elect our representatives.
.
And so, this devotional will present a few reasons why the Bible does not give any encouragement to vote, nor any hope that we can even choose our own leaders!

GOD’S WILL IS DONE ON EARTH!
.
First, does the Bible ever encourage us to go and vote? Is there any verse which leads us to believe that we have any power at all, to choose our leaders?
.
Just the opposite! Listen… “And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and He (God) does according to His will in the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, ‘What doest Thou?'” Daniel 4:35
.
Okay, so it says here that God is doing according to His own will among the people of the earth! And furthermore, nobody can stop Him from doing His own will!

NEBUCHADNEZZAR LEARNED THE HARD WAY!
.
“…and He (God) does according to His will in the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, ‘What doest Thou?'” Daniel 4:35
.
Now, is this above passage enough to convince us that it is God, and not voters who decides who rules over the nations?
.
Well, listen again to Daniel… “And they shall drive thee (proud King Nebuchadnezzar) from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever He will.” Daniel 4:32
.
So this above verse was spoken to that proud and stubborn king, Nebuchadnezzar. And it took 7 years of being a beast, till Nebuchadnezzar realized that all his power and wisdom were merely the gift of God. And it took 7 years grazing in the fields until he understood that it is God alone who chooses rulers, and nobody else!

FURTHER CONFIRMATION!

Well, do we need any further confirmation?
.
Listen again… “This matter is by the decree of the Watchers, and the demand by the Word of the Holy Ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.” Daniel 4:17
.
So, in this above verse, it is revealed that even those who are wicked rulers (“the basest of men”), are likewise chosen by God to rule over men!

So, perhaps the question we should be asking ourselves is this… “Just how can I make a difference in the way this society operates?”

VOTE FOR PERSONAL REPENTANCE!

Listen… “If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Daniel 7:14
.
Yes, it is only when a man, women, or child humbles their heart before God, and begins to seek God, with all our heart, soul, strength and mind, that God will begin to make things happen. Oh no, we don’t repent as a group effort! That would be worse than no repentance at all!
.
But individually, we must seek after the Lord, just as did David did (as this painting depicts.)
.
Yes, by repentance, by hiding God’s Word in our heart, by unceasing prayer, and by enduring the trials which will begin to come our way! These are the components which will effect true change!

SHAMING THE “DISSENTERS”
.
Now there are many who try to wrestle with Scripture, in an effort to justify their faithless attempt at joining in with the world, to elect leaders. And these same ones will gnash their teeth and heap contempt on those who realize that we are helpless in trying to choose our own leaders!
.
Yes, these faithless ones often shame everybody who trusts in God and God alone! And this should be a tip-off to us, as to what is the true underlying source of their power!
.
But the fact is, when I ignore what God says, and insist on using my own human strength, I am casting a vote which registers in Heaven, these following words… “I don’t trust you, God, so I’m using my own strength to do what I don’t trust you to do, even though your Word promises that you are the only One who chooses our rulers!
.
Listen just once more… “Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: And He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” Daniel 2:20, 21
.
Yes, our Lord is an infinite God! It is He who orchestrates the affairs of Man. And He is intimately involved in even the smallest details of life.
.
If we have a strong urge to vote, let’s vote to have faith that God is the One who chooses our rulers, both in the great matters and leaders of local matters! That’s the only vote which Heaven fully endorses!

ONE LAST WORD!
.
Now, it is not necessarily a sin to vote. This society was set up with the electoral process, and everyone should probably vote, maybe, while understanding that our sovereign Lord is the One who assigns our leaders, meaning that our vote is absolutely worthless!
.
But if I ignore what the Bible says regarding God’s sovereign control over this world, and begin to think that humans can somehow affect change by our own strength, then I may be guilty of rejecting God’s Word! That then, would be sin!

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON
.
“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Rev. 12:3
.
In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not. But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars. The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).
