When Light Is Darkness

CITY OF CONFUSION
.
Babylon was given its name during the building of that infamous Tower of Babylon, because God confused their speech…
.
Listen… “Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.” Genesis 11:9
.
And so, the name, Babylon, actually means, “City of Confusion”.

“COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE”
Revelation 18:4
.
The call is now going out to anyone who will listen… “Babylon is fallen is fallen…Come 
out of her My people, that ye partake not of her sins, and receive not of her plagues” Revelation 18:1, 4
.
Yes, the time is come for God’s people to make our Exodus out of the “City of Confusion”, the various Christian organizations. And this is a literal Exodus!
.
And yet, before we can completely come of her, we must come out of her in our minds. In other words, we still have great confusion about what is truth and what is merely the wine of her false doctrines, which deadly wine we have been drinking for so many years.
.
And the reader is encouraged to click on and begin reading this series of devotionals called “Come Out of Her, My People”, to gain a fuller understanding of just why God considers today’s churches to be spiritual Babylon.

BABYLONIANS BY BIRTH
.
We have grown up in this Babylonian world. Our customs and our fashions and our tastes have all been formed by the selfish wares and faithless ways of this world.
.
But when it pleased the Lord to bring us into His marvelous light, we did not fully understand the veritable ways of Heaven. And that is why God gave us His Word. So that by reading about Christ, we could become renewed in the knowledge of Heaven’s ways.

GOD’S PEOPLE STILL IN DARKNESS
.
Yes, God has desired to purify for Himself a people, zealous of good works. God desires to have His people reflect His glorious light to a world in bondage to sin; a world in spiritual darkness.
.
But God’s people have not fully understood the importance of shining with the glorious light of Heaven. And to a great degree, we have not fully put off the darkness of this Babylonian world. We still largely behave as Babylonians.

TAKE THE PRECIOUS FROM THE VILE!
.
Listen to this admonition by God, to Jeremiah… “Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before Me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as My mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.” Jeremiah 15:19
.
This exhortation from God to Jeremiah reveals that God desires, not only Jeremiah, but every Christian to, “purify himself, even as He (Christ) is pure.” 1st John 3:3
.
Unfortunately, today’s Christian community refuses to embrace the fullness of Christ. We enjoy our worldly ways! We would prefer to have SOME, but not ALL of Christ! We love the commonness, frivolity, and selfishness of this world! And so, our music, our language, our lifestyle, and our behavior and even our fashions all reflect the ways of the world, to a great degree.

“COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE”
Revelation 18:4
.
So many churches encourage the spirit of the world into their worship services. Joking and laughter and shouting, worldly music and dramas and fashions are all allowed, yes, even encouraged in many churches. 
.
But God is now calling His people to come out of this Babylonian world.
.
Listen to Paul’s exhortation…“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.” Ephesians 5:8-10
.
This above verse exhorts us to “walk in the light, as He (Christ) is in the light” 1st John 1:7. Christ and Christ alone is the standard of acceptable behavior.

TIME HAS COME TO SHINE!
.
Perhaps in the past, God had winked at our highly compromised ways. But now that we are at the end, God desires His people to finally shine “as the Sun”.
.
But as long as we continue to cling to the godless ways of this Babylonish world, we cannot fully shine out to the world.
.
Our music, our speech, our irreverence all must be radically changed, if we will become purified, “even as Christ is pure!”
.
We just cannot mingle the light of Heaven with this world’s darkness, if we will ever hope to shine as the Sun!
.

FOOLISH TALK & JESTING
Ephesians 5:4
.
Many Christians subscribe to the idea that they must joke in order to be interesting and entertaining. And so, the Christian world has embraced this false doctrine, thinking that joking and jesting is “light”, when in fact it is “darkness!”
.
Yes, jesting (joking) is a product of this fallen Babylonian world. Heaven knows nothing about jesting! Nowhere in the Gospel do we ever read of the Lord joking and jesting!
.
“Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.” Proverbs 14:13
.
Jesus knew that joy and contentment and peace are not found in earthy jesting!
.

EARTHY & SENSUAL MUSIC
.
And the same error is embraced in our so-called worship music. Today’s churches erroneously believe that we must have fashionable music in order to attract young people.
.
But every true Christian has an inward sense of awareness of the music of Heaven. But sadly, God’s people have little taste or tolerance for heavenly music.
.
And as a result, we think that by mingling some quasi-Christian lyrics with the earthy & sensual music of the world, we can make our worship services more exciting and attractive to more people.
.

A FATAL ERROR
.
Jeremiah could only become God’s spokesman after he removed his worldly ways! And by our refusal to purify our worship services even as Christ is pure, we have made a fatal error!
.
We somehow think that we can compromise our so-called biblical preaching with mockings, and jokes, and fashions, and worldly music, and street-language, and still be under the approving eye of God!
.
But listen to the testimony of James…“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4
.
By embracing this Babylon world, we are committing spiritual adultery as this above verse warns against!

“THE GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY”
Proverbs 15:25
.
The Good News is that God is a very forgiving and tender-hearted God. And He is just now giving us opportunity to cast off our Babylonian garments and show Christ-and-Christ-alone to the onlooking world!
.
“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” Romans 13:12
.
The time is come for God’s Church to shine as the Sun in all its brightness to this unbelieving Babylonian world. And all those who profess to love Christ, will now have opportunity to “prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2)! And once this is accomplished, God’s purified remnant will, “shine forth as the Sun”. Matthew 13:43
.

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her (Babylon), My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4

God has a people in Babylon. Yes, Mystery Babylon is the Mother of Harlots. The sketch to the left shows her riding this beast with 7 heads and 10 horns.
.
But in that spiritual city, there are those who still love God to a certain degree. And before the final plagues are poured out upon her, God has been and will continue to call His people out of her… “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her (Babylon), my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
.
And so in addition to The Pleiades appearing as the Harlot Mother, we also see this second depiction of The Pleiades as an angel, which symbolizes God’s people, walking the downward pathway to destruction. They must be called out of Babylon before it’s too late!
