IMITATION: THE HIGHEST FORM of PRAISE?
.
Have you ever heard the expression, “Imitation is the highest form of praise”?
.
And don’t we see a lot of imitation going on in the world?
.
For instance, look at these imitators of “The King” of modern music!
.
Yes, the Bible says… “for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.” Luke 16:8
.
Yes, the world is often wiser in their worldly wisdom than we Christians are in heavenly wisdom!
.
And it’s just too bad that God’s people aren’t as zealous of imitating our King, as these men are about imitating their king!

THE TWO BABYLONS
.
One of the most revered holidays is the Christmas holiday (or, “holy-day”). It is celebrated in many nations of the world, by Catholics, Christians, and non-Christians alike!
.
But where did Christmas come from?
.
Just where and when did Christmas come into being?
.
Well, Hislop’s book, “The Two Babylons” presents the history of Christmas, and how it originally came from ancient Rome, as a day celebrating their pagan deity.

CHURCH of ROME IMITATES ANCIENT BABYLON

But during the rise of the Church of Rome in early centuries, that apostate organization, in collaboration with pagan Rome, began to mingle various Roman and pagan traditions into Christianity, thinking to gain a wider appeal to its vast pagan citizenry, thus enticing them into that apostate church.

Thus, both Easter and Christmas are rooted in paganism. The Bible even speaks of Easter as a day to celebrate the resurrection of the god, “Tammuz”, in which the apostate Hebrew women gathered at sunrise to weep for that pagan deity, just prior to his (supposed) rising from the dead. (See Ezekiel 8:13-15)

CHRISTMAS ROOTED IN CHURCH of ROME AND POSSIBLY BABYLON

And Christmas was a day in which another pagan god was celebrated, called “The Seven Days of Saturnalia”, which took place in late December.

But of course, Satan, made sure that both these pagan “holy-days” had enough similarity to the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to make such a transfer into Christianity very easy!
.
And Hislop’s book makes very distinct, the connection with the Church of Rome to ancient pagan Babylon…thus his title, “The Babylons”.
(Alexander Hislop has many detractors today, as one might well imagine, who attempt to criticize and malign him and his book in their defense of Christmas and its originator, the Church of Rome)

PROTESTANTS STOPPED PROTESTING
.
Now, the main purpose of this article is to showcase how the Protestant churches never completely came out from under the authoritarian yoke of the Church of Rome. Oh yes, they discarded much of Rome’s traditions, such as the deification of Mary, Mother of Jesus.
.
And Protestants also did away with the “paying of Indulgences” to that church (which promised all indulgence-payers that their loved ones would then be freed from the supposed netherworld dungeon of “Eternal Torment”).
.
But tragically, the Protestant churches clung to these holy-days (and also, to the false doctrine of “Eternal Torment”, another false church-doctrine created by the Roman Catholic Church, based on faulty and unsanctified Bible interpretation).

And the point to be made today, is that by celebrating these Roman Catholic holy-days, the Christian community is actually praising, howbeit unwittingly, the Church of Rome.

Yes, “imitation is the highest form of praise”. And by using pagan terminology, such as “The Trinity” (which Hislop asserted to be originated from the worship of the triune Fish-god and found its way into Catholicism), the Protestant churches no longer protested that apostate church, but continued to drink of her intoxicating wine of false doctrines!

CHRISTMAS & EASTER: ROME’S GREATEST EVANGELISTIC TOOLS
.
And don’t imagine for one moment that this imitation by Christians has escaped the notice of the Catholic Church. Not for one moment!
.
But rather, Catholics undoubtedly use such a praise-worthy imitation by Protestants as a proof that the Church of Rome is the true chosen church of God!
.
Thus, the Protestant church is unknowingly causing multitudes of deceived worldlings to join the Catholic Church, the very same church which persecuted, tortured, imprisoned, and murdered, perhaps, millions of Christians during those long, bloody centuries called The Dark Ages of Europe!
.
Yes, when we imitate the world, we unknowingly give praise to “the god of this world”, Satan! (2nd Corinthians 4:4)

The Good News is that instead of imitating & praising the World, God is just now giving us opportunity to come out of this Babylonish world, and begin praising our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
.
Yes, by breaking free from our slavish world-loving bonds and instead purifying ourselves into the glorious image of Christ, we can become changed into vessels of (spiritual) silver & gold, praising our Lord in all we think, do, and say, wherever we go!
.
Yes, instead of imitating this pagan world, we still have the privilege of imitating our Lord (which, of course, such an imitation is truly, truly, the very highest form of praise!)
.

LOCATING THESE TWO CONSTELLATIONS
.
This phenomenon begins in October, in the pre-dawn hours. It then begins a little earlier each night.
.
This Wikipedia star-chart to the left, has this Orion Constellation sketched in. You must locate Orion, when it is mid-sky, between east and west. You’ll be facing southward most likely, unless you are far south. Try to imagine it as a Cross on a steep hill. The 3-star belt of Orion becomes the crest of the hill. The 3 very faint stars that make up Orion’s head become the very top of the Cross.
.
Next, locate the 7 Stars Constellation. This 7 Stars Constellation is seen by facing northward. It stands upright a little later in the night. Eventually, Orion will lay down and no longer be seen as an uplifted Cross! Beginning in November, the 7 Stars (AKA Big Dipper) can be seen as a Cross a little bit later in evening.

When you are comfortable in locating Orion & The 7 Stars Constellations, then show a friend. This can be a great witnessing tool!
