Part 5:

“The Angel of the Bottomless Pit!”

What most Christians are not aware of, is that the Book of Revelation is all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s why it is titled, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”. Revelation 1:1

.

And why is there so much confusion about Revelation?

.

The problem is, like so much of the Bible, Revelation is written in types and symbols. And the greater portion of the Church has been locked out of most all the Book of Revelation!

NOT SEARCHING THE BIBLE

.

For instance, if the average evangelical churchgoer wishes to discover what locusts represent in Chapter 9, they cannot simply do a word-search about locusts. If they did, they would soon discover that locusts represent God’s judgment on worldly-minded Christians as their earthly as well as spiritual riches get “eaten up” in various ways.

.

But because they are locked out, they vainly search newspapers, trying to interpret Scripture by the daily news! And so, they may decide that those prophetic locusts will actually be something like black helicopters.

THE GOSPEL IN TYPES & SYMBOLS

.

And because of this devilish and non-biblical hermeneutic which prevents them from spiritualizing away all the types and symbols found in Revelation, the vast majority of churchgoers cannot discover that Revelation is merely the Gospel of Jesus Christ, howbeit veiled in Old Testament types and symbols.

**Now let’s examine another component from this chapter in hopes of understanding this composite beast in Revelation 9: let’s examine, “The Destroyer”, in verse 11…**

“And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.”

Revelation 9:11

.

This above verse from Revelation 9:11 tells us that these composite beasts of the first verses of that chapter, are ruled over by their king, “Abaddon” and “Apollyon”. We are told that these names mean “Destroying Angel” in Hebrew, and merely, “Destroyer” in Greek.

.

This verse presents a giant concept, which other portions of the Bible give greater enlightenment.

.

For instance, perhaps the most obvious passage is found in Exodus 12:23…“For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.”

.

This passage speaks of when the children of Israel were about to make the exodus out of Egypt. and on that fearful night, God sent “the Destroyer” to slay anyone who didn’t have the blood of the covenant on their doorpost.

“What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin”

Romans 3:9

The next passage is from Jeremiah…“for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction. The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant. For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.” Jeremiah 4:6-8

.

Now this passage and the previous one from Exodus would make us think this to be speaking of God’s judgment on His own people.

.

However, let’s not forget that Revelation 9:11 gives his name in both Hebrew and Greek. So then, we must ask ourselves, “Is this Destroyer fellow going to destroy both Christians as well as non-Christians?”

.

But this duality might simply indicate that God’s people are getting destroyed by both fellow church members but also by unbelievers.

A TOTAL DESTRUCTION?

.

The third option is that all of the above will happen. And as we look at the church-world, it is apparent that destruction is coming from unholy influences both within and without the Church.

.

And yet, we sadly look out in society, we likewise see the destruction of secular society as well.

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

1st Peter 4:17

And so, we might conclude that this Revelation 9 “Destroyer” has a name in both Greek and Hebrew for all the reasons given in this article: to destroy both the churches as well as the entire world

.

So, in conclusion, let it be said that this composite beast in that chapter, as well as his king are concerning God’s chastisement on His people, but also upon the whole world. It is the time of Judgment for all!

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY!”

Proverbs 25:5

The Good News is that the hour still remains for any and all to plead for deliverance from total destruction. Oh yes, we must all go through the fire & brimstone of tribulation. But peradventure, we can say along with Job_23:10…“But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

.

Yes, God will sit as a purifier of gold (faith & love) within the hearts of His chosen ones. and the time in which we are now entering will burn away the dross of our old nature. And then the following verse will be fulfilled…“Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.” 1st Corinthians 3:12, 13

.

This is speaking of the Day of the Lord in which God will burn up all the “wood, hay, stubble”. And so, let’s use the remaining days weeks and months to make sure that our characters have a foundation: a foundation of “gold, silver, precious stones”!

THE HOLY GHOST RIDER CONSTELLATION

.

This newest Signs Of Heaven Constellation (Fall, 2013) is by far the faintest of constellations, but is a very incredible and awesome one in a number of ways (which this article will explain).

.

It is primarily comprised of the Camelopardalis Constellation (head and upper back), plus about 5 stars from the Cassiopeia Constellation (his leg), plus some random stars. It appears as an outline of a rider. Only the back of his head is detailed. And his back and the back of his legs are also detailed. Both sides of his arm are visible, and his hand is gripping the horse’s mane, and that is detailed by three stars (which are also part of the horse’s mane). The rider is in a position vaguely similar to a race-horse jockey. The two brightest stars in this constellation, are from the Cassiopeia Constellation, and are part of his leg. All the rest of the stars are very faint, and must be viewed on a very starry night.

Since this constellation has just been revealed, there may be more to this constellation in the coming months. But if you can locate the Goodly Horse in Battle Constellation, then you shouldn’t have too much trouble locating this Rider Constellation, provided you have excellent star-watching conditions.

BIBLE VERSES PICTURED IN THE HEAVENS

THIS STAR-CHART: This is a Wikipedia star-chart, in which this site’s editor has sketched in these three constellation (without the Holy-Ghost-Rider Constellation). Notice how the right front hoof is trampling on the tail of the Dragon. Also notice his eye is a star. It’s best seen when in the western half of the sky. It is found in mid-sky traveling from east to west. In January, it is in the west after midnight. As winter progresses, it can be seen earlier and earlier in the evening. a dark sky with good star-visibility is best, but not absolutely necessary to see this constellation. It is found on the opposite side of the Dragon Constellation from Orion. And as already stated, this Goodly Horse Constellation can be seen best in mid-winter when it is in the western side of the sky, and you are looking at it while you are facing west. The nose and head of this horse is partly made from the Perseus Constellation. The tail and rear end is partly of the Cassiopeia Constellation. The hind-leg is made partly of stars from the Andromeda Constellation.
