“Re-thinking Harold Camping Regarding The Sun Standing Still”

When Harold Camping appeared on the world stage, it was like “a flash in the pan”, as the saying goes.
.
Yes, it was all finished in a relatively short time.
.
And few of the world’s inhabitants really understood his ministry or message. All they understood was that this “quirky” Bible preacher with big ears and a booming, formidable voice was warning them that the world was soon coming to a sudden end.
.
And most everyone hated that message, including most Christians. And of course, most everyone hated Harold Camping too!
.
All sorts of mockery, insults, and accusations were hurled at this elderly Bible teacher from Alameda California.

“BUT WHETHER THERE BE PROPHECIES, THEY SHALL FAIL”
1st Corinthians 13:8

And when that much-anticipated last day finally came and went, the world immediately rose up into attack mode against this much-maligned Bible teacher.
.
Insulting caricatures of Camping were posted on the Internet. Scathing articles were written in the various media. Jokes and taunts were cast upon him. He was called a false prophet by nearly everyone!
.
Everyone pretty much “piled up” on this man to the point that in his grief over his supposed failure, he had a stroke, and died about two years or so later.
.
And even in the Christian community there were very few if any, “Noble Bereans”, who studied daily to see if the things Camping taught were true. (see Acts 17:11 regarding Noble Bereans)

“THOUGH IT TARRY, WAIT FOR IT!”
Habakkuk 2:3

But what nobody took into account (including Camping) was what the prophet, Habakkuk, declared by the Word of God…“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: THOUGH IT TARRY, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2, 3 (for further insight, read…FEBRUARY 12 (The Fearful Message of Habakkuk, Part 1)

Yes, Habakkuk reveals that at the end, the vision will begin to speak. And yet that message would seem to tarry.

And because very few people were acquainted with Camping’s ministry, nor acquainted with the Bible, they didn’t understand what it was all about.

Oh yes, Camping’s calculations were correct. But God purposely covered His hand over just how that message would actually unfold, causing it to tarry past the appointed day of the end.
.
And the reason for this delay was because God knew His people were unprepared to meet the Lord in peace. Yes, Satan had all but hamstrung the Church with the earthly pleasures and tinsel-like treasures which this hedonistic and cornucopian super-society affords.

A LITTLE EXTRA TIME
.
And thus, in His great love and mercy, God has now given us a tarrying time in which God’s people could learn what needs to be learned.
.
And in this tarrying time, God’s people can finally cast off their earthly skin, so to speak, and properly prepare themselves for the hour in which the Church shall shine as the Sun for all the on-looking Earth and Heaven to behold.

THE DAY THE SUN STOOD STILL
.
Remember the story of Joshua, when he commanded the Sun and Moon to stand still?
.
And remember how God hearkened to Joshua’s command?
.
Well, that true little historical account was orchestrated by God to present a prophetic picture of what we are now going through!
.
And just as God’s people needed more time to vanquish their foes, so too, the Church-elect today needs an extension of time to properly armor up and decimate our enemies, spiritually speaking, of course.

THE TOWN OF MANSOUL
.
Has the Reader ever read John Bunyan’s little book, “Holy War”? Well, in that little book, Bunyan related the taking of the Promised Land to the purification of the heart and soul. And the people of the little town of “Mansoul” were either the friends or the foes of the King Shaddai who wanted to conquer that town.
.
The point is, the enemies of God’s people are not just the unbelieving people of the world who hate Christians. But our enemies include the ungodly qualities of our own personal character which hinder and thwart our attempts to serve God with all the heart and soul and mind and strength.

Well, God has now hearkened to the command of Joshua (Christ) for the sun to delay its going down, that they could root out those enemies out of the hearts of His people.
.
Thus, God has likewise given us today, a little more time as well, to finish up the work that needs to be accomplished.
.
“And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure.” 1st John 3:3
.
This verse encapsulates what still remains to be accomplished in the heart of each and every true worshiper of God!

THOSE NOBLE BEREANS!

Therefore, let every man, woman, and child who considers his or her own self to be a “Noble Berean”, begin to study this message daily whether it is true.

And let’s not be like the stiff-necked and uncircumcised lawyers and scribes and Pharisees and Sadducees who were ready to reject God’s truth the first moment they saw some supposed flaw!
.
But instead, let’s continue daily, to study and pray, and really learn what this message is all about.

THIS STAR-CHART: This is a Wikipedia star-chart, in which this site’s editor has sketched in these three constellation (without the Holy-Ghost-Rider Constellation). Notice how the right front hoof is trampling on the tail of the Dragon. Also notice his eye is a star.It’s best seen when in the western half of the sky. It is found in mid-sky traveling from east to west. In January, it is in the west after midnight. As winter progresses, it can be seen earlier and earlier in the evening. a dark sky with good star-visibility is best, but not absolutely necessary to see this constellation. It is found on the opposite side of the Dragon Constellation from Orion. And as already stated, this Goodly Horse Constellation can be seen best in mid-winter when it is in the western side of the sky, and you are looking at it while you are facing west. The nose and head of this horse is partly made from the Perseus Constellation. The tail and rear end is partly of the Cassiopeia Constellation. The hind-leg is made partly of stars from the Andromeda Constellation.

THIS HOLY-GHOST-RIDER

Now one thing that is noticeable and makes this constellation even more dramatic, is the fact that the Milky Way runs right through it. And the question that must be asked is, “What biblical implications does this constellation/Milky Way connection have?”
.
Well, very simply put, if stars represent Believers, then this rider works in the world through His True-Worshippers, to a great extent.

WHY IS THIS CONSTELLATION SO INCOMPLETE IN APPEARANCE
.
So why is this constellation merely an outline? Well it does show his back, rear end and leg…and arm. But unlike, say, Orion, this constellation is very vague, even mysterious in appearance. Almost vacant in appearance. Yes this horseman represents Christ.
.
But even more than this, it represents the Holy Spirit of Christ. And as we all know, the Holy Spirit is very, very, un-intrusive, almost impossible to detect His presence. Hence, this constellation is perhaps the most faint of all the constellations of Signs Of Heaven!
