FLOWER POWER? NOT SO MUCH!

Can you believe it? At the writing of this devotional (2017), it has been exactly 50 years since the Summer of Love in San Francisco!

.

Remember that?

.

Well, most people were born in the years following that notable event. But it was a real effort by that young generation to engage in brotherly love at a time when America was at war.

.

Everything was peace and love!

.

Flowers were given as a symbol of peace and love!

.

“LOVE SHMOVE!”

.

Well, it wasn’t long until that movement went the way of almost every movement.

.

And the world returned back to its normal push-and-shove ways, now even more skeptical of any so-called, “peace and love” rhetoric.

50th ANNIVERSARY OF “LOVE”

.

But that “Summer of ‘Love'” all happened in 1967.

.

So here we are 50 years later (in 2017), celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of that “magical” summer of “love”.

.

But look at what we’ve been seeing the last six months!

.

Yes, what we are now witnessing in 2017 is a whole lot of hatred and intolerance!

.

“THE SEA AND THE WAVES ROARING”

Luke 21:25

Isn’t it truly amazing to behold all the acts of pure hatred which have been occurring on a daily basis around the world: daily angry protests, enraged verbal attacks, name-calling, threats of violence, actual acts of violence, mob bullying and violence, beheadings, racism, bigotry, and bias by various ethnic groups against one-another, unjust and oppressive laws, forced political indoctrination in the school systems, kidnappings, deadly drugs, drug cartel violence, and many other similar violent acts are now “the new norm”?

.

And here is just another proof that the Bible is the prophetic Word of Truth, since it correctly foretold of the world’s condition in these last moments of time just prior to God’s final judgment!

“AND THE NATIONS WERE ANGRY”

.

Listen again to this prophecy concerning the very day we are now living in…

“And the nations were angry,

and Thy (God’s) wrath is come,”

Revelation 11:18

.

As we nervously look around at all the mob anger and violence now occurring in every direction, this above verse seems to be finding its fulfillment.

“AND A MAN SHALL BE AS AN HIDING PLACE”

Isaiah 32:2

.

But today’s devotional, while shining the spotlight on the tragic condition of today’s world would also like to reveal the way of escape from all this insane hatred.

.

Yes, there is a way of escape, which is found in Isaiah 26:20, 21…

“Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers,

and shut thy doors about thee:

hide thyself as it were for a little moment,

until the indignation be overpast.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of His place

to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity:

the earth also shall disclose her blood,

and shall no more cover her slain.”

.

Yes, as this above verse reveals, there is, “a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest;” Isaiah 32:30.

THE ARK IN THE HEAVENS

So what importance to us is all this information? Well, if a person goes out at night, beginning in April (earlier in southern-most latitudes, and later in northern-most), in the pre-dawn hour, they just might locate the constellation commonly referred to as the Sagittarius Constellation . It is located in the southern sky. (Each night it appears a little earlier, slowly inching westward, through the summer, until it finally disappears below the western horizon in November.)

.

At first, it simply appears as two twin birds flying westward. But if you look once again, it just might appear as a long box-like figure, with one star on the right, as you face it, and two stars on the left. The box, of course would be the Ark, and the stars on either side would represent angels, which are sometimes referred to as stars in the Bible (for instance, “the seven stars are the angels…” Revelation 1:20). To the right is a star-chart from Wikipedia, in which the editor of this site has sketched in this Sagittarius Constellation, to show how God created it to appear.
