“And Jesus answering said,

A certain man…fell among thieves,

which…wounded him, and departed,

leaving him half dead….

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed,

came where he was:

and when he saw him,

he had compassion on him,

And went to him, and bound up his wounds…”

Luke 10:30, 33, 34,

This above well-known parable has great spiritual meaning.

.

But it can also apply to everyday situations.

“GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS”

.

Now of course, the Parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us that even those who are secular can perform good works and acts of compassion as did that man from Samaria.

.

Yes, that most infamous of all parables reveals, as the Apostle Peter put it, that “God is no respecter of persons.” Acts 10:34

.

The people of God in that day considered Samaritans to be nothing more than heathen dogs. And yet, this heathen showed more Christianity than the very ones who were reputed to be God’s representatives on earth!

“If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?”

.

Proverbs 24:12

.

This above proverb has a real-life application as we see so many needy people begging. Perhaps we might slip some dollars into a Bible tract and give it with a sincere smile. That money means so much more to those needy ones, than it does to us. 

.

“GOD IS LOVE!”

.

We just have no idea at all how greatly God and His angelic host intercede into the everyday affairs of humanity.

.

Oh yes, we do know that “God is love”, and that, 

“He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good,

and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

(see 1st John 4:8, 16 & Matthew 5:45)

.

And so, as we look around at the world and see the many acts of kindness, mercy, and even heroism performed by secular unbelievers, it doesn’t necessarily seem to fall into the category of, “a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:” 2nd Timothy 3:5

.

“THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

Please tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose. (Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

Do you see an angry look? His right eye-brow is raised as if he is judging.

.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn. Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad shock and awe; this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn. As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below. He is very moral, you see.
