“The Human Heart: Wonderful? or Woefully Wicked?”

“The heart is deceitful above all things,

and desperately wicked:

who can know it?

I the LORD search the heart,

I try the reins,

even to give every man according to his ways,

and according to the fruit of his doings.”

Jeremiah 17:9

A few days ago, a certain individual on the Internet, contributed his belief that humans are basically good. And he cited a few examples of mankind’s goodness.

.

Now, before going any further, let’s get rid of this notion that the human heart is the blood pump. Yes, the world has named the human blood pump, “the heart”. And yet, the Bible reveals the heart to be the deep thoughts of the mind: the treasure chest of the mind, with its loves and hates and deepest thoughts, beliefs, and intents.

.

Actually the Bible explicitly describes the human heart in the following way… “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

.

Well, obviously, that man on the Internet has never considered this above verse from Jeremiah (and probably wouldn’t even want to!).

.

And so, even back in Jeremiah’s day, God was revealing the condition of human mind…”the heart is…deceitful…and desperately wicked”.

.

And yet, the Bible doesn’t stop with Jeremiah! No, even the beloved Apostle, John, has described this present world as “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” 1st John 5:19

.

And what about the great Apostle Paul’s summation…”Rom 3:10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

.

Right at this time in history, secularists have been largely in control of western societies. And they have been enacting laws which are causing a whole lot of trouble, especially in the United States.

.

Their thinking has been that if society just extends some sort of gracious liberty to individuals with bad behavior, that “liberty will cause them to see their erroneous behavior and correct themselves, falling in line with socially-acceptable standards of conduct.

.

And such thinking has pretty much devastated a number of large cities, turning them into dystopian hell-scapes

.

Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:

.

The very Good News is that we don’t have to go through this short life being plagued by all sorts of debased, vile, hateful, lustful, jealous, suspicious, fearful, or revengeful thoughts!

.

Listen to God…Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

.

Here is the remedy for our innate wickedness: a brand-new heart! And a new Spirit!

.

Oh yes, the Tempter may come to us oft-times with unwholesome thoughts. But if Holy Spirit of Christ is dwelling in us, we can say along with Him…”Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” Matthew 16:23

THE SWINE: “LUST OF THE FLESH”

.

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1st John 2:16

.

This article will introduce this third beast-like face, inscribed in the Moon: a swine. And it will be shown that the three beast-like faces in the Moon, represent the concept taught in the above verse concerning “the lust of the flesh…the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”.

.

It has become apparent that the second face in the Moon, besides appearing as a wolf-like beast, also appears as a Swine. Let’s explore this concept, for a moment. First of all, when a person sees the second face up in the sky, it’s arguable whether or not it looks like a swine.

.

But it must be conceded that the photos do indeed make it appear as if this character has a “sawed-off” snout like a swine. And of course, a swine is spoken of quite frequently in Scripture.
