Look up, and behold the signs written in the sun, moon and stars! (see Luke 21:25)

These are the faithful witnesses found in all of nature, which proclaim the praises of their Divine Maker!

LOVEABLE ANIMALS

Well, who doesn’t love those heart-warming dog videos!?

The big, expressive eyes! The humble lowliness! The inherent attraction to humans! The sad expression when lost or forsaken! The happy smile and wagging tail! The unfailing, excited greeting when the master comes home!

AN EXCELLENT COMPANION!

Yes, in this rather troublous life in a self-absorbed world, often making our way through a sea of blank stares, a dog can be that nearly perfect companion to come home to! Always happy to see you! Always wanting to get as close as possible! Happy to sleep at the foot of your bed! Always wanting to go for a walk with you!

A MUCH NEED ADDITION TO THIS UNCERTAIN WORLD!

How could such a bundle of love be the product of some chaotic explosion!? No, just the opposite! A dog is just one more piece of evidence that there indeed is a personal Heavenly Father, who knew that He must create a faithful companion for the various needs of Mankind in this oft-lonely world of sin and sorrow!

JUST THINK ABOUT IT!

Just think about it! A dog can be a wonderful and playful friend for children and parents alike!

And for those who must go through life without a human companion, a dog can make a really fantastic substitute, filling the void of loneliness with much faithful affection and humble appreciation!

.

And as we all know, humans may leave for one reason or another. But even a penniless beggar will enjoy the faithful friendship of a dog, without fear of being rejected.

GUARDIANS

One other reason for creating dogs was for protection.

.

Yes, God well-knew how dangerous and evil the world would become, once the spirits-of-evil took control of Planet Earth.

.

And even now, as lawlessness increases in our “new-world-(dis)order”, many people must depend on the super-senses of guard-dogs to alert and even protect them from evil.

.

HEAVENLY OBJECT LESSON

.

“Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.” Isaiah 24:23

.

When God created the Moon and the stars, He ordained them to “rule the night” (Gen. 1:16). The Moon, especially when it is full, can light your pathway through the night, as it reflects the light of the Sun.

.

So too, the Christian is to be a light to the world: to this sin-darkened world. But as the Moon must reflect the light of the Sun, in order to be a light to the world, so also must the Christian reflect the light of Jesus, to be a spiritual light to this planet in rebellion. Listen…

.

“Ye are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

.

However, during an eclipse, the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, preventing that sunlight from shining on the Moon’s face. This is an incredible object-lesson about when the child of God allows the world to come between him and his Lord. Like the eclipse, that person no longer reflects the light of Jesus, because his or her love of this dark world of sin has eclipsed the light from the “Sun of Righteousness” (see Malachi 4:2).

.
