The Tree of Life

There is much babylonish confusion in today’s churches, concerning the Book of Revelation.

Oh yes, most teachers agree among themselves that the so-called “Pre-Tribulation Rapture” is going to occur just prior to a 7-year tribulation in which God is going to pour down His plagues upon all rejectors of His grace during that period. And most Bible teachers agree that the last 19, or so, chapters, concern literal Jews living during that period, since all gentile Believers will have been raptured away!

.

But the confusion in all this is because most teachers and preachers do not understand how to rightly divide the Word of Truth, when it comes to The Revelation of Jesus Christ. Oh well yes, they certainly claim that they interpret The Revelation by means of “The Bible Only”, but this is simply not true! If they were using the Bible only, they would have come up with a much different interpretation than all their newspapers and history books provide! For one thing, most teachers get their opinions from reading the books of the most celebrated authorities around today, resulting in a general consensus between them, concerning The Revelation.

.

But through most of the church age, or at least through the centuries of persecution by the dominant church of Europe, our Christian forefathers saw The Revelation as a spiritual book, unfolding its prophecies throughout those Dark Ages. They saw the tyrannical Church of Rome and its leader as the Revelation Beast, as it tried to stamp out the Bible as well as those who loved that wonderful Book of books! It wasn’t until the Mid-Twentieth-Century that the so-called “Futurist” school of thought really began to grow wildly popular. The Christian community began to forget about the bloody persecution against Christians throughout the Dark Ages, once the persecution ceased. But of course, many teachers today will engage in “Double-Speak” in effort to deny the earlier beliefs of the persecuted Church of those centuries past. Or maybe, they might cite some obscure ancient writings which seems to bolster their weak defense of their now popular, “futurist” position.

.

But the entire Book of Revelation must be seen as a spiritual Book. A Bible teacher must always be “comparing spiritual things with spiritual” as 1st Corinthians 2:13 commands us to do.

.

Now both websites (Signs Of Heaven & Devouring Fire) have many articles which interpret various portions of The Revelation by using “line upon line, precept upon precept” as we are instructed to do in Isaiah 28:10. And every one who considers his or herself to be “A Noble Berean” should explore these many articles daily to “see if those things were so”, as it says in Acts 17:11

.

For example, The Book of Revelation speaks of “The Tree of Life” in Revelation 22:2…”In the midst of the street of it (The New Jerusalem), and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

.

Now the general consensus among theologians is that this is speaking of a future time in The New Jerusalem in the New Earth. And of course, this is correct that the Tree of Life will be there.

.

But we must remember that the Bible is a spiritual book. And as we search the rest of the Bible, we see that The Tree of Life is spoken of in a number of other places.
