Mystery Babylon, The Harlot Church!

From Genesis to Revelation, the theme of two women…

.

…one an adulterous woman…

.

…and the other, a virtuous woman…

.

…and this concept of two such women are interwoven into the warp-&-woof of the Scriptures.

.

And as the Bible develops, so too, this theme of the two women likewise develops, until we discover that they each represent the two portions of the Church…

.

…the church-apostate…

.

…and the church-faithful.

.

Listen to Paul… “For it is written, that Abraham had two sons,

the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman…

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants…”

Galatians 4:22-26

.

In this above passage, God, through the hand of Paul, presents the basic concept of the Church actually being divided into these two camps.

BABYLON NOW!

.

Now the subject of the apostate churches should always be handled delicately, since none of us can hold our head up high, in these last days!

.

We don’t want to throw rocks at an organization which originally was the anointed of God, if at all possible.

.

And anyway, we’ve all sinned, and have all fallen short of the glory of God, haven’t we?

.

But having said this, there comes a time when the sins of Babylon must be pointed out, because, there is a lot of confusion about just what is modern-day Babylon.

.

Yes, Satan, who comes as “an angel of light”, has transformed his ministers into so-called “ministers of righteousness”, as is revealed in 2nd Corinthians 11:14, 15.

SATAN THE KING OF SPIRITUAL BABYLON

But as we explore these biblical issues, the question must be asked, “Why would we ever get the idea that Satan is the King of Babylon?”

.

Listen… 

“That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon…

the golden city…

he that ruled the nations…

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!”

Isaiah 14:4, 12, 13 (Condensed)

.

Now this above passage really ties Lucifer to Babylon, “the golden city”.

.

And this passage apparently names the King of Babylon in this way… “The King of Babylon…O, Lucifer, son of the morning”.

HARLOT RIDING THE BEAST

.

Therefore, it is now apparent that Satan’s kingdom is Babylon.

.

But there is a religious quarter within the city walls of Babylon.

.

And this did not escape the attention of the Protestant Reformation!

.

After all, God’s people were persecuted by the apostate churches of Europe for many centuries.

.

Therefore, it is no great wonder that they drew pictures of the Babylon Harlot, as she rode the Antichrist Beast of Revelation, chapters 13 & 17!

SPIRITUAL BABYLON

.

Now if we turn to Revelation, Chapter 18, this harlot, Mystery Babylon is described as a city who is drunken with the blood of the saints of God.

.

And it is common knowledge that the apostate churches of Europe carried out an ongoing warfare against the Bible and against those who loved the Bible, for many long centuries.

.

The Apostle, Peter made reference to Babylon, in one of his epistles… “The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you;” 1st Peter 5:13. 

.

Of course, literal Babylon no longer existed at the time of Peter’s epistle. 

.

JEZEBEL RETURNS

.

In John’s letters to the 7 churches of Asia, he mentioned Jezebel… 

…”Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee,

because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel,

which calleth herself a prophetess,

to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication,

and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.”

Revelation 2:20

.

Now at the time of these letters, Jezebel had been dead for many long centuries.

.

Therefore, Christ was using Jezebel as a symbol of the spiritual adultery which was already beginning to creep into the churches in the Apostle, John’s day!

.

But while God doesn’t come right out and call the apostate churches Babylon, He does about everything short of calling them, “Babylon the Mystery Harlot”!

And how can this be, that nobody has ever seen the Pleiades as a constellation of a woman?

This article will discuss this great paradox of these two women, found in the Pleiades, and what it means scripturally to us: we who comprise the global community of Christians.

What is this mysterious “little” cluster of stars in the night-sky all about?
