Today’s Devotional – December 26th

.

Where Do We Go From Here?

.

“Thou art my hiding place;

Thou shalt preserve me from trouble;

Thou shalt compass me about

with songs of deliverance.

Selah.

.

A man was sitting across the table this afternoon, and said, to the effect, “Where do we go from here?”.

.

Well, this perplexed Christian was speaking in reference to the apostate condition of the churches.

.

And he was sad because he felt as if he was all alone in the world, “How can we go back into our church, knowing that it has deteriorated into a quasi-religious watered-down prosperity gospel?”

.

“FOR THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THEY WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE”

.

Well, the Apostle, Paul, did say that the time would come when we can no longer depend on the churches.

.

Listen… “For the time will come

when they will not endure sound doctrine;

but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,

having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth…“

2nd Timothy 4:3, 4.

.

So here we see that Paul prophesied that the churches would come to a fully apostate condition at the time of the end.

“GO YE OUT TO MEET HIM”

.

So, the question which many are asking is… “Where do we go from here?”

.

Many are convinced that we have arrived at that day when itching-ears gospels are everywhere!

.

The Good News is, God has not forsaken His faithful ones!

He has given us instructions as to how we should meet this crisis.

And the answer is neatly tucked away in the Bible!

.

Listen… “And at midnight there was a cry made,

Behold, the Bridegroom cometh;

go ye out to meet Him.”

Matthew 25:6.

.

But how and where do we go out to meet the Bridegroom?

.

NO ACTUAL PLACE TO GO!

.

Now, we are NOT to literally go out.

That is, there is no physical place we are to go.

.

So, what is the answer to this dilemma?

.

Listen once again…

“Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers,

and shut thy doors about thee:

hide thyself as it were for a little moment,

until the indignation be overpast.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of His place

to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity…”

Isaiah 26: 20, 21.

.

Oh, so we are to go into our chambers…while the Lord punishes the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity.

.

“YOU ARE MY HIDING PLACE”

Psalm 119:114

.

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10

.

So these above verses are the key to understanding just where the child of God is to seek refuge during this time of trouble.

.

This is where we are to go, now that we have little earthly security.

.

And yet, our soul is in Heaven with Christ, even though our physical body is still here in this sinful world!

.

But in order to run into this strong tower, we are required to trust implicitly in God.

.

So how do we throw our entire life into His almighty arms?

.

Well, doesn’t the Bible say, so many times, and in so many ways… “The God of my Rock; in Him will I trust: He is my Shield, and the Horn of my Salvation, my High Tower, and my Refuge, my Saviour; Thou savest me from violence.”? 2nd Samuel 22:3

.

NO MORE EARTHLY SUPPORT!

.

Yes, O Stranger & Pilgrim, the times we are now in provide little comfort nor protection.

But God has allowed this to happen for the purpose of strengthening us and transforming us into Christ’s image.

.

Yes, we have arrived at a time in which the Christian must learn to wholly lean upon the mighty arms of God.

The time to trust in churches has passed.

.

“FLEE TO THE MOUNTAINS”

.

Yes, it seems as if God’s people are coming to a crisis similar to the time during the Dark Ages of Europe.

.

But this time around, we may not have literal mountains to provide safety for God’s people.

.

But God has met the crisis. He now is willing to bless us wherever we are.

.

Listen… “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.” John 4:23.

.

When Jesus spoke these words, He knew of the apostasy of His professed people at that time. And Jesus knew that the time would likewise come upon the churches, in which it would be fulfilled…

.

“COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE!”

.

And so, in light of this sad condition of the apostate church-world, God says to each of us at this present hour…

“And I heard another voice from heaven,

saying, Come out of her, My people,

that ye be not partakers of her sins,

and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Revelation 18:4.

.

But we must not be afraid.

**As a matter of fact, by making that End-Time Exodus, God will bless His faithful, trusting children…**

And there shall be upon every high mountain,

and upon every high hill,

rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter,

when the towers fall”

.

Yes, this above verse assures us that all our spiritual needs will be abundantly supplied in those spiritual mountains to which we must flee in the great day of God, when the towers (the apostate churches) fall!
