**In yesterday’s devotion (click here), Part 1, it was discussed that “the god of this world” works overtime to divert Christians from the task of overcoming the world & flesh!**

.

And it was noted that Satan has introduced a Christless Bible prophecy, which uses history books and newspapers to interpret Bible prophecy.

.

So, not only does this counterfeit prophecy teaching method greatly eliminate Jesus out of Revelation, but it also largely eliminates the spiritual soul-purification which true Bible prophecy always accomplishes!

COMPARING SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE

Listen to Paul’s summation about Bible study…

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect,

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

2nd Timothy 3:16, 17

As this above passage confirms, ALL SCRIPTURE, yes even Bible prophecy, if rightly interpreted, is designed to make us perfect in Christ!

THE WORD OF CHRIST

Now, this Part 2 will hopefully encourage us to turn off all the worldly chatter, all the noisy din and clamor, and simply immerse ourselves in thoughts about Christ, and contemplation about Christ’s Word!

Now why has this website begun to say, “Christ’s Word” instead of “God’s Word”?

.

Listen to this…

“Let the WORD OF CHRIST dwell in you richly in all wisdom…”

Colossians 3:1

.

As this above verse reveals, the Word of God is also called the Word of Christ.

.

That is, so often we forget to read the Bible in attempt to fill our heart with the character of Christ.

.

To rightly understand just who Christ is, and how He lived, and what His thoughts are, and why He did so many things differently than the world does things!

And so, the point is, we don’t need to feel guilty about closing ourselves in with Christ!

Listen…“Thou (God) wilt keep him in perfect peace,

whose mind is stayed upon Thee,

because he trusts in Thee!”

Isaiah 26:3

.

**To keep our minds fixed on the Word of Christ, hiding all those precious promises in our heart, is what true Christianity is all about! That is the very definition of perfect peace!**

GOSPEL IN NATURE

.

Now, we shouldn’t get the idea that we must have the literal image of Christ before our eyes every moment! No, but Christ can be revealed as we behold a little flower, or a butterfly, or hear the innocent laughter of children playing. The image of God’s love and His Gospel is written on all of nature!

.

And to admire the beauty and wisdom and even the occasional fearfulness of nature, can be just every bit as much of what beholding Christ is all about!

AT WORK

.

**And when at work, the Christian is constantly translating the Word of Christ into every aspect of daily labor and on-the-job dealings with fellow workers or clients.**

.

Honesty, patience, kindness, faith, temperance, charity, meekness, protectiveness of others, etc., are just some of the virtues which must be translated into practical, everyday situations. This too, is what it means, “to behold Christ!” Because these qualities are what Christ is all about!

GUARD YOUR HEART!

.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence;

for out of it are the issues of life.

Put away from thee a froward mouth,

and perverse lips put far from thee.”

Proverbs 4:23, 24

.

And so, the big point to today’s devotional, is all about carefully protecting my heart! Oh yes, Salvation is the gift of God! Make no mistake about that!

“Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”

Ephesians 5:14

Christ is willing to give us all the treasures of love and wisdom and peace and purity and virtue!

It only remains for us to decide to fully engage ourselves in the pursuit of that wonderful heavenly Prize: Christ in us, the very essence of perfect peace!

“Then the moon shall be confounded,

During an eclipse, the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, preventing that sunlight from shining on the Moon’s face. This is an incredible object-lesson about when the child of God allows the world to come between him and his Lord. Like the eclipse, that person no longer reflects the light of Jesus, because his or her love of this dark world of sin has eclipsed the light from the “Sun of Righteousness” (see Malachi 4:2).
