A certain friend of this website had to ride his bike down a busy street to get to Walmart. And this busy street had no sidewalks, forcing all the young people and even little children to walk to one side or the other on this narrow street. It really seemed crazy that the county had never put sidewalks on this busy suburban street, especially since many children used it to go to and return home from the nearby school. And this website friend thought to himself, “It’s probably going to take some kid getting hit before the county gets around to putting in a sidewalk.

.

Now, whether or not this website friend ever secretly wished that such a wake-up call would ever happen, he could not say for sure.

.

Well, several years later, when this web-friend lived in a different part of town, he got hit by a car as he was crossing the shopping center exit. The web-friend (and his mangled bike were both pulled out from under the vehicle and he was transported via ambulance to the hospital.)

.

But while being treated at the hospital, a police officer came into the treatment room. And much to the web-friend’s surprise, the officer apologetically handed him a citation, because “You were riding on the wrong sidewalk. You should have been riding on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street” (The driver told this officer that he stopped at the stop-sign).”

.

A month or so later, while in court, the web-friend explained to the judge that he couldn’t ride on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street, “You see, Your Honor, much like so many other streets in this town, there is no sidewalk on the opposite side of the street on this, the busiest street in town!”

.

Well, the Judge proclaimed, “Not guilty!”

.

But that’s not the end of this story!

.

You see, even at the writing of this little true story, a nice new sidewalk is almost completed on that very 1/2 mile stretch, where he was hit last November!

.

And this web-friend is wondering if his accident is the reason why the city is constructing that new sidewalk.

.

Well, this web-friend confesses that if he ever finds himself wishing for something bad to happen in order for good to result, he will plead with God to immediately remove such a horrible and dangerous thought!

TODAY’S PRAYER…

“Dear Lord, Help me to crucify that “Old Man” within. Remove far from me all vanity and pride. Give me the desire and power to hide your great and precious promises in my heart…

“THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Once_in_a_Blue_Moon_(40034339832).jpgPlease tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose. (Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

.

Do you see an angry look? His right eye-brow is raised as if he is judging.

.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn.

.

Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad look of shock and awe (click here to see and read about); this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn. As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below. He is very moral, you see.

THE PHARISEES…

.

“Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.” Prov. 21:24

.

Yes this wolf-like beast-face in the Moon, is what the Bible calls a proud Pharisee. They were the morality crowd. They were the finger pointers. They were the scorners. They didn’t realize that their own pride was even more reprehensible to God than the drunkenness, immorality, or sexual perversions of the unsaved of the world.
