Flee To The Mountains,

Part 16:

“How To Be Like John the Baptist: Flee From The Wrath To Come!”

“”Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him,

O generation of vipers,

who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”

Luke 3:7

.

In His great mercy, the Lord raised up John The Baptist to warn His people to, “Flee from the wrath to come!” Matthew 3:7 & Luke 3:7

.

And so, John The Baptist came in the traditional style of the Old Testament prophets, pointing the accusing finger, and issuing that fiery message to the curious crowds who collected all around him.

ANOTHER ELIJAH?

.

Many Christians living in these last days are wondering if the Lord will likewise send a similar message to the world just prior to end of all things.

.

After all, we read in Malachi 4:5, 6…

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet

before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children,

and the heart of the children to their fathers,

lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

.

Here is a great prophecy about Elijah returning to the earth, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and visa-versa.

JOHN, THE FULFILLMENT OF ELIJAH

But Jesus revealed…“For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John (the Baptist). And if ye will receive it, this is Elias (Elijah), which was for to come.” Matthew 11:13, 14

.

And so, John The Baptist was the fulfillment of this prophecy in Malachi.

.

And John dressed similar to Elijah, wearing animal skins for a garment and a leather belt.

MANY STILL LOOKING FOR ELIJAH

But many people still wonder if there will be a further fulfillment to Malachi’s prophecy.

.

Will God send another Elijah, just prior to the end?

.

Will some Old Testament type figure arise, and with point-finger and fiery preaching?

.

SATAN RAISING COUNTERFEITS

Well, Satan is certainly not waiting, but is busy raising up deluded individuals to proclaim that they are the Elijah which was for to come.

.

And so, the hearts of many have become calloused at any person who makes the bold claim that he is the Elijah which was to come.

.

EVERY BELIEVER A TYPE OF ELIJAH

.

But the fact is, each and every true worshiper of God living in these last days, has been chosen to be the fulfillment of the prophecy concerning another Elijah!

.

Oh no, they are not to move out to the desert or wear animal skins and call the world to repentance.

.

At least they are not to literally do this.

.

But spiritually, we all are indeed called to warn the world to, “Flee from the wrath to come!”

.

GOD’S WRATH NOW POURING OUT!

.

As Christians now witness that God is beginning to pour out His vials of wrath upon this rebellious world and apostate church-world, we sense that there is no more time to dilly-dally around in the world.

.

Yes, God’s people are getting extremely nervous as they look around at the growing madness among the unsaved multitudes!

.

They see that everything which once was considered normal is now being discarded for things which were once considered crazy!

.

“Is this world going crazy? Has the world lost its sanity?”

.

DYING-WITH-CHRIST

.

Well, O Christian soldier, it is high time that God’s people begin to shed their earthly skin and let Jesus Christ live out His holy life through them!

.

It’s high time that they cast away all their self-indulgent ways, and begin to live more like John…and Paul….and Peter, and all the other self-sacrificing men of God, and begin warning the world to, “Flee from the wrath to come!”, as did John The Baptist!

.

LET YOUR LIFE DO YOUR PREACHING!

.

“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:” 2nd Corinthians 3:2

.

And the remarkable thing is, you won’t necessarily even need to open your mouth to issue this warning!

.

No, those who see the great changes taking place in your life, will get the message, as they begin to see Christ living out His Holy life through you!

.

**And then, you (along with every other Christlike witness to the world), will be an important member of an entire army of Elijahs!**

.

This may indeed fulfill the prophecy concerning the coming of Elijah.

.
