So just what is the finest school in the nation?
.
Well, the fact is, the major universities mostly began as Christian colleges.
.
But gradually over time, secularism crept in and took over, until now there remains little, if anything of their former Christian roots!

THE SCHOOLS OF BABYLON
.
But today’s devotional would love to shine its spotlight on the very best school in the nation, yea in all the world!
.
And just what school is that?
.
Dartmouth? Princeton? Yale? Harvard?
.
Oh yes, these were once great schools, having their roots deep into the Bible! But now, sadly, they are nothing more than schools of Babylon: that is, schools of this confused, faithless, antichrist world-system!

THE GREATEST SCHOOL: BECOMING AN EXAMPLE!
.
So just what is the finest school?
.
Well, the fact is, the absolute greatest school in all the world is when a parent (or sibling) sits down with the children, and opens the Bible together and instills in them, by example, the love for reading the best Book!
.
Yes, if only Christian parents would eliminate the high-tech audio/video secular devices, and merely sit and read together each day from the Book of all books, the Bible!
.

“…TO MAKE OURSELVES AN EXAMPLE UNTO YOU TO FOLLOW US…”
2nd Thessalonians 3:9

And let’s face it! If the children see the parents or siblings loving to read the Bible, they too might “catch the Spirit”, so to speak, and gain their own love for that soul-saving word-of-life gift from Heaven!
.
Yes, whatever the parents love will almost unfailingly “rub off” on the children!
.
And there is no greater home-school than for the entire family to sit down together, armed with their own Bibles and simply read them together, or individually.

“A LIVING SACRIFICE!”
.
Of course, the great problem with all this is, such a selfless Christlike endeavor requires laying one’s life down upon the altar, even as is written…“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1, 2
.
Yes, this above passage is the key to victorious Christianity!

“COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE!”

Oh yes, it is much more appealing to our flesh to simply run and hide in our own little comfortable place, and leave the children to the television or to public schooling.
.
But God is now calling His people to come out of Babylon! And a great part of that spiritual exodus is to hopefully bring the children out along with us, on that upward, heavenward pathway!
.
And if one spouse, along with the children, have already become loyal Babylonians, then perhaps all the Christian can do is to set the best example possible, while giving his or her own self unto prayer…“For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.” Psalm 109:4
.
Yes, to silently engage in unceasing prayer and the unrelenting search after the “exceeding great and precious promises” which are sprinkled throughout the Bible, can indeed be a powerful witness to all those in the family circle!
