“The Day of the Lord Is Near!”

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision:
for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.”
Joel 3:14

There is no shortage of Christians who are looking for the Day of the Lord to occur sometime in the future.
.
And there is a current mentality that this much-anticipated day will be an absolute holocaust, with bombs, earthquakes, tsunamis, meteors striking earth, black helicopters, bloodhounds chasing God’s people, devilish world leaders with horns, etc…
.

.
“THEREFORE SPEAK I TO THEM IN PARABLES”
.
One great problem is that when we attempt to interpret the Bible literally instead of
allegorically, it is easy to come to that conclusion!
.
But what many are forgetting or ignoring altogether is that God wrote the Bible to be understood spiritually.
.
Listen to Jesus…“Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.” Matthew 13:13
.

“THINGS OF THE SPIRIT…ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED”
1st Corinthians 2:14
.
Yes, people can get into all sorts of trouble when attempting to understand the many Bible
allegories, parables, types and shadows, in a literal manner!
.
That’s why there are the prosperity-driven gospels which think only of earthly riches when reading certain passages concerning riches. That’s why many think that Revelation was written primarily for literal Jews.
.
In other words, the natural man, in his carnality, cannot understand that true riches are the heavenly riches of faith, wisdom, peace, and love, etc…
.
And the carnal mind cannot understand that a true Jew is that, “which is one inwardly”: a spiritual Jew. (see Romans 2:28, 29)
.

“YE THAT PUT FAR AWAY THE EVIL DAY!”
Amos 6:3
.
And so it is when attempting to understand so much of Bible prophecy.
.
If one attempts to decipher the many allegories in Revelation literally, then it’s fully understandable that they think the Day of the Lord is somewhere off in the future.
.
After all, such passages as this next verse have not literally occurred…“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” Revelation 6:14
.
Obviously, Heaven has not literally departed as a scroll, nor has every mountain and island moved out of their place!
.
Nor has so many other passages from Revelation literally happened!
.

IGNORING BIBLE VERSES
.
But setting this error aside, there happens to be another great error which too many theologians often make.
.
And just what is that error?
.
Simply put, too many Bible teachers overlook various Bible verses which are critical to a proper understanding of the Day of the Lord!
.

“MULTITUDES, MULTITUDES IN THE VALLEY OF DECISION!”
.
One such verse is our signature passage for the day…“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:14
.
This above passage makes a giant statement! It says that “the Day of the Lord is near in the Valley of Decision!”
.
And just what does that mean?
.
Well, listen to this next passage…“Woe to them that are at ease in Zion…Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;” Amos 6:1, 3
.
You see, the Bible reveals that the Day of the Lord is already happening!
.
It’s just that it is a spiritual conflict, and not a physical battle!
.

“THE DAY OF THE LORD IS NEAR IN THE VALLEY OF DECISION!”
.
And let’s not forget what Joel says, “that Day is near in the Valley of Decision!”
.
In other words, the “Valley of Decision” is a spiritual valley in which a man, woman, or child makes the decision to follow Jesus.
.
It is not a literal valley.
.
And when the decision is made to truly follow Jesus, it is not long until that person finds his or her self in a spiritual battle with the forces of good battling against the forces of evil.
.

STANDING IN THE EVIL DAY
.
This is why Ephesians tells us…“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
.
You see, this above verse says to do all to stand in the “evil day”, but then says, “and having done all, to stand”.
.
In other words, “TO STAND” is telling us that the “evil day” is already here!
.
That’s why it tells us, “to stand”!
.
.
.

.
“WATCHMEN UPON THY WALLS…SHALL NEVER HOLD THEIR PEACE!”
Isaiah 62:6
.
Well, to be sure, there is coming a grand finale to all this ongoing conflict between Christ and Satan.
.
Yes, the time ahead is going to try every man’s soul!
.
But why wait until “all Hell breaks loose”?
.
The battle is raging all around us…RIGHT NOW!
.
It just remains for the reader to enter into the current conflict!
.

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION GROUP…

Look eastward in the early summer through fall. Find the Cassiopeia Constellation. Cassiopeia is the Mount of Blessing. In the sketch, it is the farthest mountain to the left. In the sky, it is the northern-most of these three mountains when facing eastward. It resembles a pyramid.

Then find the second pyramid to its right (south).
.
Then go a little further south to the next third pyramid. The third snow-cap is the Destroying Mountain Constellation.
.
These three pyramids are the snow-capped portion of these three mountains in this sketch. (of course, you won’t see the snow-caps in the sky. They are just an embellishment in this sketch to present a concept-EDITOR).

THE VALLEY OF DECISION CONSTELLATION GROUP. They appear in mid-summer in the eastern skies in pre-dawn hours. These are made of Cassiopeia (mount on left), and various stars from the Andromeda Constellation (valley) Pegasus (Mount of Cursing (middle mount) & Destroying Mount (right)), and Pisces (Broad Way to Hell). The galaxy which appears to be climbing the Mountain of Blessing is the Andromeda Galaxy.

The above Wikipedia star-chart shows this amazing constellation group as it appears from June to fall, just prior to the winter constellation group. Actually, these Valley of Decision Constellations appear in early summer in the pre-dawn hours. (Editor of this website has sketched in this constellation group onto this above Wikipedia star-chart.)
