Now in yesterday’s devotional (click here to read), the focus was on Ellen White’s comments regarding Orion (which constellation God mentions several times in Scripture).
.
And she wrote the following statement…
…”Dark, heavy clouds came up and clashed against each other.
The atmosphere parted and rolled back;
then we could look up through the open space in Orion,
whence came the voice of God.
The Holy City will come down through that open space.”

Now this statement seems to be not only very cryptic, but very puzzling as well!
.
After all, where in the Bible does it ever say that God’s voice came through that constellation?
.
And where does it ever prophesy that “The Holy City will come down through that open space”?

THE HORSE NEBULA?
. 
Well, many Adventists believe that the great “Horse Nebula” of Orion is that “open space”. And they may well be correct.
.
But there is another aspect to Orion which makes true biblical sense concerning her Orion statement.

THE NARROW WAY & BROAD WAY
.
Well, if the Reader will study the Signs Of Heaven Article, “Orion the Reaper”, it can be seen that the two brightest stars in Orion’s sickle represent “The Narrow Way”, as spoken of in Matthew 7:13, 14…
…”Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.”
.
Here is a very renowned Bible passage which has, no doubt, sparked many discussions and debates through the centuries concerning this concept of a narrow way and a broad way.

THE TWO WAYS DEPICTED IN THE NIGHT SKY
.
Yes, both the “Narrow Way” and “The Broad Way” are represented in the Heavens.
.
And while the two brightest stars in Orion’s sickle represent the Narrow Way…
.
…but the two brightest stars of the Revelation 12 Dragon’s wave of water coming out of his mouth represent the Broad Way that leads to destruction.
.
And as this star-chart shows, the Narrow Way stars are much closer together than the Broad Way stars.
.

A SPIRITUAL MEANING?
.
And so, it makes perfect sense that these Narrow Way stars could very well be what Ellen White was speaking of as “The open space in Orion”.
.
After all, isn’t the “Narrow Way” actually referring to the spiritual doorway that we must enter into to receive our Salvation?
.
And so, Ellen White may indeed have been referring to this spiritual concept depicted in the heavens.
.
In other words, Ellen White was quite possibly speaking of a spiritual concept and not a literal one.
.

THE NARROW WAY IS THE ONE TRUE PATH TO SALVATION
.
Well, those who feel strongly that the great Horse Nebula was what Mrs. White was referring to, may be partly right.
.
But this Orion the Reaper Constellation may actually be what her comment was referring to.
.
Nevertheless, the Reader is encouraged to make sure that he or she has truly entered into the true “Narrow Way” (Christ) in their own life.
.
For He is the only true Doorway to Salvation!

CASTOR AND POLLUX & THE NARROW WAY…
WIDE & NARROW GATES IN THE HEAVENS

As the opening verse says…

for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way,

So, what are these two gates all about?
.
And how can I choose the right door?
.
But before we explore these questions, let’s take a look at why these two sets of stars represent these two biblical gates.
.
(This sketch, while not 100% accurate, gives a fair portrayal of how this constellation group appears at winter’s end and even into June, when above the western horizon.)

HOW THE GATES RELATE TO ORION & DRAGON
.
This sketch below is when these constellations are in the eastern sky in early winter (However, this constellation group can even be seen as early as July, in the pre-dawn hours).
.
In the eastern sky, it’s not so easily seen which gate the Revelation 12 Woman will enter.
.
The Wide Gate is made of the two brightest stars of this Wave of Water Constellation.
.
Satan spews out the deadly water of his false worldly ideologies…
.
…which many of these ideologies have a form of godliness, but in some way are not in harmony…
.
…or perhaps these worldly ideologies add to the Bible, which is strictly forbidden (see Deuteronomy 4:2).
.
On the other hand, the Strait Gate (narrow gate) is composed of the two brightest stars of the Orion The Reaper’s sickle. The true Strait Gate represents Jesus, the Word of God.
.

by Me if any man enter in,
he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out,
and find pasture.”
