“And at that time shall Michael stand up,
the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people:
and there shall be a time of trouble,
such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:
and at that time thy people shall be delivered,
every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life,
and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament;
and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

Are you old enough to remember that startling movie, “Dawn of the Dead”?
.
Being one of the first of its kind, it had a stunning effect on movie-goers. That is, to see dead people slowly sleep-walking through a giant shopping mall, surrealistically going through the motions of shopping, while silky violin strains of “elevator music” echoed through that post-apocalyptic mall, was a giant shock to movie audiences back in those days!

NO MORE ROOM IN HELL!
.
Now the premise of that movie was that some world-wide apocalyptic holocaust had killed off the bulk of Mankind, leaving no more room in Hell. And this is loosely based on Jeremiah’s prophecy… “Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.” Jeremiah 7:32
.
Thus, the world was now mostly populated by these half-dead zombies, who continually sought to cannibalize the few surviving humans left on earth! And that infamous and eerie shopping mall became the backdrop for this end-time scenario!

THE LIVING DEAD TRULY EXIST!
.
Now this devotional is not promoting the idea that we should be watching movies. No, but the intent is only to provide an earthly analogy for biblical ideas! After all, Paul quoted a line from a secular poet’s poem, when trying to make sense with a group of potential converts. (see Acts 17:28)
.
And of course the Bible declares our pre-Salvation condition in the following manner…
“And YOU hath He quickened, WHO WERE DEAD in trespasses and sins:
Wherein in time past YE WALKED according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
Ephesians 2:11, 12
.
Yes, the Bible repeatedly pronounces our condition as being walking-dead souls, prior to Salvation! That is, without the life-giving Holy Spirit indwelling our hearts, we are merely enjoying the selfish pleasures of this world: Satan’s Dark Kingdom of the Living-Dead lost souls!

Now, there is an aspect of this movie not yet touched upon, which makes sense biblically.

And just what aspect can this be?

GOD’S REMNANT EATEN UP LIKE BREAD!
.
Well, just as the walking dead were trying to eat up the earth’s remaining humans, so too, in these last days, the unsaved people of the world and in the apostate church-world will attempt to eat up God’s remnant people, even as it is written…“Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up My people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.” Psalm 53:4
.
Here we have a prophecy which will see its final fulfillment in the coming days. Whether speaking literally or just spiritually, God’s people will be devoured, even as written…“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1st Peter 5:8
Oh yes, it’s true, that God’s people have suffered under the cruel hand of Satan for many long centuries. In one way or another, the persecution of Christians has never ceased. By feast or famine, Satan has attacked God’s people over the centuries!

But there is coming a grand finale, in which God’s people will suffer one last time.

CANNIBALISM?
.
Now, even though these verses will have a spiritual fulfillment, it may be true that we will begin to see a literal fulfillment as well…“The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of My people.” Lamentations 4:10
.
Yes, there was literal cannibalism during the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD. But we may see an even greater fulfillment in these last days, as the restraining power of God is finally removed from the unsaved multitudes of the earth!

Even right now, societies are devolving at a rapid pace, we are stunned and amazed at the animalistic behavior of violent mobs! Hatred is growing at an exponential rate.
.
And if things continue to worsen, the world may become so wicked, that Christians may eventually find themselves fleeing from insane mobs, in a scenario similar to one of those apocalyptic Zombie movies!

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY!”

.
But the Good News is that God will only allow that which He deems necessary for the purification of His people.
.
Yes, just as those three Hebrew boys endured the fires of the King of Babylon, so too will God’s people soon walk through the fiery tribulation now prepared by Lucifer, the true King of this Babylonish world!
.
And when Christ can see His reflection in His vessels of gold and silver, the persecution will cease.
.
And so, let’s take heart that the coming days, weeks, and months will be for our eternal glory, though the fires of tribulation will be heated 7-times hotter (“7” being God’s perfect number)!
.

This Glorious Crown Constellation looks like a wreath at first glance. It has 7 stars, plus another star in the middle. This Glorious Crown Constellation is commonly referred to as the Corona Borealis Constellation. This wreath reminds us of the victory wreath given to athletes who won races in the ancient 
cultures. This was spoken of by Paul as he compared those ancient races to the race that Christians must run… “Know you all not, that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that you all may obtain.” 1st Corinthians 9:24 (see also Hebrews 12:1)

“A CROWN OF 12 STARS UPON HER HEAD” …
.
But upon a closer examination if you have access to a very dark sky out in the country; if you watch this wreath, you will eventually see 5 more very faint stars, making a total of 12 stars, plus that single star in the middle. This wreath now becomes a crown of 12 stars. This goes along with Revelation 12, which tells of a crown of 12 stars upon the head of the Virtuous Woman of Revelation 12.

… “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman…and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:” Rev. 12:1.
.
But this crown is not yet upon the head of the Virtuous Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (also known as Ursa Major). It is just above her head, as if she has yet to attain it. Of course, the 13th star in the middle would represent Christ (Who is our true Crown of our rejoicing). Ok, so we have a picture of Christ and His twelve tribes of Israel. But also we have a picture of Christ and His twelve apostles, which is a picture of His Church. So this heavenly crown is a multi-faceted concept.
