Footprints in the Snow!
.

.
.
Once there was a man who had an alcohol habit.
.
And so, to hide this problem, the man hid his bottle in the barn.
.
Well, one day, the snow had covered the ground. But this did not hinder the man’s desire for alcohol.
.
And so the story goes, as he trod through the freshly fallen snow, he heard sloshing sounds behind him.
And looking back, he saw his young son following him, taking big footsteps, making sure to step in each of his father’s footprints in the snow.
.
“Son! What are you doing?” asked the father, embarrassed that his quest for a nip of whiskey was in danger of being discovered.
.
“I’m following in your footsteps Daddy!” cried the young child gleefully.
.
When the father heard this, he knew he had to quit his horrible drinking habit!
.

.
WHERE DO MY FOOTPRINTS LEAD?
.
Now this little story presents a great lesson for us too! Just where are my footprints leading?
.
Because, it is a great truth that someone will be following my footprints!
As an old song goes, “No man is an island! No man stands alone!”
Whatever we say and whatever we do will have its effects upon others too!

FOLLOWING MY EXAMPLE
.
Our children are especially affected by our daily footsteps. And they will undoubtedly follow in our footsteps.
.
And so, the question each of must ask ourselves is, “Where do my footprints lead my children? Where do my footprints lead others?”
.
Do I make a regular path over to the TV set?
Well, I can just figure that my children will do the same!
They will inherit my love for that sly old serpent, the television!

LUSTS OF THE FLESH
.
Or perhaps my footprints lead to the refrigerator.
.
Well, the path to gluttony will undoubtedly lead my children to gluttony as well.
.
But it may also lead them to other similar lusts of the flesh, such as drugs or alcohol or fornication! After all, the flesh is satiated (temporarily) by many different kinds of lusts!
.

LOVE FOR THIS WORLD
.
Or maybe my footsteps lead to other worldly pursuits, such as sports or hobbies or games. You can just bet that children will easily follow these footprints!

Or maybe I love to shop for the vain love of spending money on earthly possessions.
.
Or maybe I love to talk with friends about earthly things!
.
Or maybe my career is my big joy in life.
.
Or getting angry at my spouse, is where I go, all too often.
.
Or my worldly and unholy words will create a pathway for others to walk down.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Well one thing’s for sure!
Wherever my footprints lead, my children are almost sure to follow!

.
FOLLOWING JESUS’ FOOTPRINTS
.
Now for those who desire to see their children in Heaven one day, the Bible makes it very clear, just where my footsteps should go…
“If any man serve Me (Jesus), let him follow Me;
and where I am, there shall also My servant be:”
John 12:26
.
Here above are the very words of Jesus, as He calls each of us to follow Him.
This is the true pathway to Heaven!

.
“And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him”
Luke 5:11
.
The Good News is, today is still the Day of Salvation!
.
I still have opportunity to change the path which I am walking!
.
Just like Peter, James, John, and all the other disciples of Jesus, I still have time to begin following Jesus, wherever He is going!
Yes, I can sit down with Him in the morning and study my Bible, maybe listening to the Bible as I do my daily chores, spending time in prayer, listening to sacred music, singing scripture songs, and many other similar endeavors!
.
And the things that I love will probably become the things that my children will love, as well.
.
And be sure that they will eventually follow in my Heavenward footsteps!

MY FOOTPRINTS & PRAYERS!

And even though my children may be grown, my complete surrender to Jesus will be a powerful witness to them.
.
And my footprints finally turning Heavenward, combined with my heartfelt prayers for their Salvation, will give me great hope for them.

TODAY’S PRAYER…
“Dear Lord, Make my footsteps lead Heaven-ward. Let them not turn to the right of to the left, but straight forward up that upward pathway to the Celestial City of God…

TODAY’S FEATURED HEAVENLY SIGN

“A SIGN…OF THE LORD…IN THE HEIGHT ABOVE”
Isaiah 7:11
.
“Ask thee a sign of the LORD…
in the height above…
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall call his name Immanuel…
And there appeared a great sign in heaven; a woman…
And she brought forth a man child,
who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron:
and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
And the woman fled into the wilderness,”
Isaiah 7:11, 14 & Revelation 12:1, 5, 6
.
Long ago, God made a promise in the Book of Isaiah, Ch. 7… “Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.”
Now just what sign could this be, that was either in the depth or in the height above?
Well, Isaiah continues… “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
Oh, okay. So, we know this sign was fulfilled in the depth, with the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.
But God also spoke of a sign in the “height above”.
So where is the fulfillment of this sign, in the “height above”?

A SIGN IN HEAVEN
.
“And there appeared a great wonder (sign) in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:” Revelation 12:1
.
You see, God has placed in the heavens, the symbol of His bride, the Church-Faithful.
In the summer night-sky, she appears as the woman-in-travail.
This is the constellation, Ursa Major.
And this article will introduce you to this amazing sign of Heaven, and what it means to you and to me.
