There’s a whole lot of people who are very bothered about the oppressive laws which are beginning to be created!
.
Yes, this nation, as of late, seems to be exhibiting some qualities of totalitarianism. And tragically, this “Land of Liberty” in which we grew up in, seems to be morphing into…uh…well…into something else.
.
And even more unnerving is that our children do not even realize what’s going on, because they have been educated to accept all this change, yes, even to embrace it!
.

IT’S ALL FALLING APART!
.
But we are shocked and amazed at what we now see!
.
When we see Christian businessmen having to close up shop, it is very disconcerting!
.
When we hear the courts handing down unjust decisions, we are filled with anger!
.
When w
e read that huge corporations paying off congressmen, to oppress us, we feel helpless!
.
When the schools begin to promote sexual perversion, we are amazed and confounded!
.
When false and oppressive religions move in and begin to take over the very nations which once enthusiastically embraced the Christian Reformation, we are greatly saddened!
.
The television, t
he radio, the Internet, newspapers and magazines are beginning to appear like brainwashing machines, even now embracing censorship of opposing viewpoints!
.
The young people pass by on the streets, wearing pagan-like ornaments, and greet us with a growl or a scowl…or worse!
.
We hear their violent music filled with obscenities!
.
We read of unthinkable crimes!
.
Our government is committing financial suicide!
.
Public nudity beginning to be legalized!
.
Unisex bathrooms now replacing the old gender-
based restrooms!
.
Children being kidnapped and sold into slavery by the millions!
.
Churches now beginning to embrace the morals of Sodom and Gomorrah!
.
You could probably sum up the whole world situation today, by merely saying… “judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” Isaiah 59:14
.
Yes, justice and goodness and truth seem to be dying, as far as this world is concerned!

WHAT’S THE ANSWER?

So, what are we to think about all this? And what can we do about all this? And how are we supposed to have “perfect peace” in a world that is beginning to fall into the bottomless pit of Hell, or so it seems?

GOD’S WORD THE ANSWER!
.
Well, God’s Word is still just as valid today, as it was back in the day when it was first penned!
.
And it is filled with “exceeding great and precious promises” which are true and powerful and living and active! (2nd Peter 1:4)
.
And it is by those promises, that God’s people will get through this intensifying crisis!
.

“THE TRYING OF YOUR FAITH WORKETH PATIENCE”
James 1:3
.
But let’s just “cut to the chase”, as the saying goes, in regard to today’s devotional.
.
You see, this devotional proposes the following idea, concerning the frightful condition of today’s world: all these seemingly devastating changes going on are merely being allowed by God for the perfection of His saints. Yes, the madness occurring all around us has been explicitly allowed by God, to push us in the direction of Jesus!
.
You see, our weak human nature only makes us lethargic and complacent. We really don’t want to run the Christian race. We would rather just comfortably fit in! We would rather be “cozy & comfy”, living a smooth and blissful existence. We don’t want to be cold, or destitute, or persecuted, or uncomfortable, like Paul so often was.
.
And God understands all this. And for many decades, He has allowed us to live in this opulent and hedonistic society, so as to fill us up with our own selfishness and disregard for the Salvation of the world.
.

“…yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered;”
Hebrews 5:8
.
But as we look at the life of Jesus, we see a noble Being, whose feet were as “burnished brass”, because of the many fiery trials He suffered through His rather short life on earth.
.
In other words, it was the trials which Jesus endured which perfected His character…
.
Listen… “Though He (Jesus) were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;” Hebrews 5:8
.
So here we see that Christ suffered for the reason of becoming fully perfected. (Now of course, Jesus was already obedient. But just like His baptism, His suffering was also to be an example for us to follow in His footsteps.)

SUFFERING WITH CHRIST
.
And the trials before us will cause us to let go of our dependence upon worldly institutions and earthly supports, so that we can fully lean upon Christ.
.
For instance, statistics show that most Christian children attend public schooling. And while this has never been a good thing, it now becomes fully manifest that public schooling is absolutely soul-destroying because of the perversions which are now beginning to be promoted.
.
And even though television has always been very detrimental to the souls of God’s people, it is now getting so bad, that even the best of shows are no longer safe to watch!
.

NO MORE TRUSTING IN MAN
.
Well, it appears that it could be just a matter of time until we will be pushed out of our houses, and jobs.
.
Yes, it looks like God is now allowing the once-trusted institutions to fail, so that we will no longer be able to trust in Man…
.
.
.
.
.
.
TIME TO FLEE!
.
Listen to this prophecy…“In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth. CEASE YE FROM MAN, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” Isaiah 2:20-22
.
This passage speaks specifically of the day we are now entering in. And so, now we can begin to understand just why God’s people are to cast away our earthly idols and run to those “ragged rocks” of the Bible, “for fear of the Lord and for the glory of His majesty!”

THE GOOD NEWS!
.
Fortunately, we can look at the positive side of all this bad news!
.
Yes, as Paul tells us… “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” Romans 5:20
.
The fact is, God will use all these horrible circumstances to perfect His people, that we might stand firm, while the world is being decimated!
.
And we have this following promise… “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.” Psalm 91:7, 8
.
And with promises like this, what or who do we need to fear?
