“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn…”

Romans 12:15

.

An elderly gentleman was complaining to one of his fellow church-members about how sad he was because of his wife’s passing.

.

“I’m going through a whole lot of sadness! We had such a long and happy marriage together! And now it’s all gone, and I’m all alone!”, he lamented to his friend.

.

And his friend correctly handled the situation by giving compassionate words of solace and comfort…“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn…” Romans 12:15

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

Because, not only will we find plenty of comforting words, but also we will find many encouraging passages, designed to strengthen our faith-walk with Jesus.

.

For example, listen to the 23rd Psalm of David…“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want (lack nothing).” Verse 1

.

Right here in the very 1st verse is a great encouragement for grieving spouses! It reveals that having a loving relationship with our compassionate Lord is all we really need for a social life! And any social life beyond that relationship is just an extra piece of pie, so to speak! In other words, our infinite heavenly Father is adequately capable of communing with us throughout our each and every day!

Blessed is the man that…his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night…and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper!”

Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the man that…

his delight is in the law of the Lord;

and in His law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,

that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;

his leaf also shall not wither;

and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper!”

Psalm 1:1-3 (condensed for brevity)

Psalm 19:10

.

No, there’s no reason for the widow or widower to continue to be lonely and depressed! The Bible informs us that our personal friendship with Jesus is “Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb!” Psalm 19:10

.

We can be the most joyful human on earth if we will only turn to HIM with 100% devotion!

.

And there are so many more passages like these, which are designed to strengthen and encourage us throughout our sojourn in this “valley of the shadow of death”, which this world truly is! (Psalm 23)

Isaiah 26:3,4

.

And the Bible reveals that we can experience overflowing joy, if we will only follow this advice…

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,

whose mind is stayed on THEE:

because he trusteth in THEE.

Trust ye in the Lord for ever:

for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:

FLOWER OF THE FIELD CONSTELLATION…

.

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION…

.

.

This constellation group can best be seen in spring through summer in the southern sky just above the horizon. Like all constellations, it slowly moves westward through the months, appearing a little earlier each night. It also appears to move through the sky westward each night. It can be easily seen under any degree of darkness. In other words, you don’t need a very dark night. In the sketch to the right, the ‘Flower of the Field’ Constellation `is in the lower part of the screen, directly under the Cross/Scepter Constellation. The sketches in this site are approximate, and not 100% accurate. The individual stars have different brightness than seen here. But these sketches are close enough in order to find them in the night sky.

.

This constellation presents one of the most beautiful verses in Scripture. And yet that Scripture presents one of the most repugnant concepts (which unsaved Mankind has tried to elude for millenniums). And that concept is, that Mankind is like the grass that withers, and his glory as the wildflower that fades away. But God’s Word and those that love it will go on forever and ever!
