In John Bunyan’s incredible allegorical tale, Pilgrim’s Progress, he tells how the main character, Christian, was shown various symbolic people: people who represented some important aspect of the Gospel.
One such person, or rather, two such persons were two young boys.

Listen… “I saw, moreover, in my dream, that the Interpreter took him (Christian) by the hand, and had (directed) him into a little room, where sat two little children, each one in his chair…
…The name of the eldest was Passion, of the other Patience…
…Passion seemed to be much discontent, but Patience was very quiet…
…Then Christian asked,‘What is the reason of the discontent of Passion?’
.
“The Interpreter answered, ‘the Governor of them would have him stay for his best things, ’till the beginning of the next year…
…but he will have all now: But Patience is willing to wait.’
.
“Then I saw that one came to Passion, and brought him a bag of Treasure, and poured it down at his feet; the which he took up and rejoiced therein, and with-all laughed Patience to scorn…
…But I beheld but a while, and he had lavished all away, and had nothing left him but rags.
And so, the question comes down to each of us: “Am I more like Patience?
…Am I willing to walk like Jesus in this world, waiting for all those spiritual treasures of wisdom and love and purity and joy everlasting?”

Or “am I more like the boy, Passion? Do I want to live my life out in self-indulgent little pleasures?”
.
Well, God holds out this same choice to each and every human who comes into the world. “Which world do you want? This present world of selfish pursuits, or the everlasting world-to-come?”

HOW DO I SPEND MY TIME?
.
Now just because a man, woman, or child attends church each week, or reads their Bible and attends prayer-service, is not evidence of Salvation!
.
That’s right, the real evidence is seen in how the rest of the week is spent… “Do I return to my life of self-indulgence?
…Or do I keep contemplating what I have studied in the Bible?
…Do I keep praying through my day, or do I simply forget my moment-by-moment relationship with the Lord, only to return to pursuing the cares and pleasures of life?”

Well, only those who live to purify their hearts into Christ’s image, are in the same camp as “Patience”.
But there is some very Good News in all this doom and gloom!

Yes, there is still time for all the Passions of the world, to become like Patience!
.
And God is just now making a last call for anyone who wants everlasting life, to get on board that Gospel Ship, which is just about to embark from this earth, to the world-to-come!

And all those who are willing to trade in this worn-out old world of selfishness, in exchange for the joy-everlasting world-to-come, may get on board this Gospel Ship!

A lady once made a comment concerning some of the more boisterous evangelists and preachers that are often heard on television today… “I just don’t like people shouting good words at me!”

And it’s understandable why this lady felt the way she did!

After all, it’s very easy to turn the channel, only to hear some religious television or radio station, with somebody “shouting good words”!
Now obviously, there must be a lot of people who like this kind of preaching, because some of these more boisterous preachers are among the most popular on television and radio!

But that doesn’t prove anything!
.
After all, during the 1930’s, and 40’s, a whole lot of people also loved to hear Adolph Hitler shout his “good words”.
.
Now, this is not necessarily to compare these modern-day evangelists to that evil Hitler; but hopefully, to mainly illustrate that having a large following does not necessarily vindicate the practice of shouting at one’s audiences!
This newest Signs Of Heaven Constellation (Fall, 2013) is by far the faintest of constellations…

…but is a very incredible and awesome in a number of ways (which this article will explain).
Holy Ghost Rider (above western horizon)
.
It is primarily comprised of the Camelopardalis Constellation (head and upper back)…
.
…plus about 5 stars from the Cassiopeia Constellation (his leg)…
.
…plus some random stars.
.
It appears as an outline of a rider.
.
Only the back of his head is detailed.
.
And his back and the back of his legs are also detailed.
.
Both sides of his arm are visible, and his hand is gripping the horse’s mane, and that is detailed by three stars (which are also part of the horse’s mane).

The rider is in a position vaguely similar to a race-horse jockey.
.
The two brightest stars in this constellation, are from the Cassiopeia Constellation, and are part of his leg.
.
All the rest of the stars are very faint, and must be viewed on a very starry night.
.
But if you can locate the Goodly Horse in Battle Constellation, then you shouldn’t have too much trouble locating this Rider Constellation, provided you have excellent star-watching conditions.

Are you asking yourself the question, “Why doesn’t my Christianity work? Why can’t I study my Bible more? Why is my prayer-life so anemic?”

The story of Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, is the story of a husband/wife team who thought they could “pull the wool over the eyes” of God, so to speak.

They made a profession of giving all, and yet held back money for their own personal selfishness.

And, as this story from the Book of Acts continues, they were confronted and lied, and were struck down dead.
Now there are many today, who make a profession of having “forsaken all” this selfish world, for the love of Jesus!

But make no mistake! When a person pretends to be a follower of Jesus, and yet still lives for the love of this world, he or she is doing exactly what Ananias and Sapphira did!

They are withholding back for the sake of selfishness!
.
And they are lying about it to the Holy Spirit!
.
But God isn’t going to kill them, as He did Ananias & Sapphira.
.
No, but He merely gave those two for an example of what spiritually happens to all who pretend to have forsaken this selfish world, to follow Jesus.
Paul, in trying to convince the Corinthians to loosen their purse-strings, encouraged them by giving the churches at Macedonia, as an example of the right spirit in unselfish giving.

Listen… “Moreover, brethren,
we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy
and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
For to their power, I bear record,
yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;”
2nd Corinthians 8:1-3.

Yes, Paul used the deeply impoverished, yet extremely over-generous churches in Macedonia as a contrast to the rather well-to-do church in Corinth, who were somewhat fearful of parting with their abundant wealth.
Of course, those with families may be unable to give as much as single Christians can, especially if their spouse is not in agreement over such matters.

Yes, the Christian must supply the needs, and even many of the wants for his or her unsaved household, striving to make their lives pleasant.
.
But even in those cases, one could probably give far more, simply by personally living a more self-denying lifestyle, while still supplying for the needs and contentment of his or her family.

The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.

This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark).

While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions.

It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle.

A radio program which answered Bible questions, was asked the following question: “Do we need to follow both Testaments, Old and New?”
.
One of the pastors answered by saying the following: “Any command or precept in the Old Testament does not need to be obeyed unless it is repeated in the New Testament.”
.
Well, this answer was accepted by the caller, and the other co-host did not even challenge the other pastor’s obviously presumptive and unbiblical assertion!
And so, when a Bible student begins to do his or her homework, it is soon discovered that the Bible has much more to say on the subject!
.
This passage from Galatians must harmonize with what Paul says here in 2nd Timothy…
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
2nd Timothy 3:16, 17.

Okay, so here we discover a truth which almost seems to directly oppose what Galatians says!
.
Paul clearly states that all Scripture is profitable, and is to be obeyed.
.
And “all Scripture” would, of course, include the Old Testament!
.
So now, a Bible student must decide just how these seemingly conflicting ideas will be harmonized, so as to make biblical sense and scriptural congruity.
And as the Bible student searches on, this following passage comes to the rescue…
“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink,
or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath [days]:
which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”
Colossians 2:16, 17.

So here it states that all those Old Testament holydays and festivals and Sabbath days were presenting spiritual concepts, pointing forward to our relationship in Christ.
.
They were shadows, pointing forward to the reality of Christ.
But those Old Testament ordinances are to give us a greater and greater revelation and insight into the character of Christ, as this above passage from 2nd Corinthians states.

Yes, this is what the Bible, the whole Bible is all about!
.
The Bible helps us gain a greater understanding of just who God is, and just who is Jesus Christ!
.
And so, each of those Old Testament laws and even the various fixtures of the Temple itself, were all spiritual symbols, pointing to the various aspects of the many different qualities of Jesus Christ.
And as the Bible student grows in grace, and in the knowledge of God’s Word, this next passage begins to make sense…
“Which things also we speak,
not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth,
but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
1st Corinthians 2:13-15
.
So now, as we begin to study deeper, we realize that God’s Word is filled with spiritual concepts, presented and cloaked in earthly object lessons.
.
And as we compare spiritual things with spiritual in the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit teaches us the hidden meanings of these seemingly insignificant laws of the Old Testament.
.
And Paul revealed a great mystery, when speaking of Sarah and Hagar, as an allegorical account, as representing the two covenants in the Bible (see Galatians 4:21-31).
So, just what was the problem with what that radio pastor was saying about the Old Testament?
.
Why shouldn’t he have made such a statement that, “We need only obey the New Testament”?
.
Because his doctrine was not based on everything that the Bible has to say about itself!
.
His doctrine was based only on some Bible passages!
.
He ignored other passages which should never be ignored!
.
And thus, by this little exercise, concerning searching the whole Bible, and discovering that the doctrine taught by that radio pastor was faulty, to say the least…
…it now becomes clear that there is no Scripture which stands alone…
…everything must be compared, so that truth is found by “rightly dividing” God’s Word.
“Then the moon shall be confounded (or “ashamed”),
and the sun ashamed,
when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion,
and in Jerusalem,
and before his ancients gloriously.

But having said all this, why would God speak about the Moon as if it were a person?
.
And why does He say that the Moon will be confounded? How can an inanimate object be confounded (i.e., “perplexed”, “confused”, “amazed”).
.
And why does God refer to the Moon as “her” (“the moon shall not give HER light.” Ezekiel32:7)? Such odd language!
.

The Apostle Paul, at the last of his ministry, was almost pulled apart into two pieces, by two groups of Israelites: the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

Yes, Paul knew these two groups could be divided by merely making a controversial statement, which Paul knew was an issue of contention between these two groups.
.
And as soon as he made this statement, a violent dispute followed, in which he was almost killed.
.
You see, in the time of Jesus and Paul, there were two major factions in Israel: The Sadducees and the Pharisees.
Now isn’t it interesting that today, we have two major political persuasions in the world: the “Conservatives” and the “Liberals/Progressives”?
.
And isn’t it also extremely interesting that these two groups seem to somewhat parallel those two groups during Jesus’ time on earth: the Pharisees and Sadducees?
You see, the Conservatives today believe very much in law and order, and even give credence to God and the Bible, to a certain extent!

And if you have listened to the various Conservative talk shows, you have probably noticed the proud talk and the finger-pointing which is usually present.

And this ongoing drama has its “good guys” and “bad guys”, thus ratcheting up either the favor or disdain for these “actors” as they engage with one-another before the onlooking public.
Thus, the Enemy of Souls has now created a new time-consuming pastime, which intrigues and ensnares multitudes of viewers.
But also, this new form of voyeurism only ratchets up the anger and rage in the hearts of viewers who willingly witness all the dirty-dealing injustices constantly being committed in this new daily “soap opera from Hell”!
Well, this relatively new spectator sport, “the daily political wars”, goes hand-in-hand with the current assault on Christianity.
That is, “the god of this world” has likewise used the modern high-tech media to wage a similar war on Christianity.

Yes, Satan has raised up his own collection of heroes and villains in the Christian community in an all-out effort to create a false narrative among Christians.

These look-alike “Christians” become his useful pawns, to cast a false light on the Gospel, either in one direction or the other.
“And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”
2nd Peter 2:2

While he raises up many so-called “Christians” who give Christianity a “black eye” by their lawless and often fanatical deeds, he raises up other men to appear to be the epitome of normalcy and rationality.

In this way he confuses “even the very elect” into following these false shepherds because those cultish leaders make the normal-looking false shepherds appear righteous by comparison.
This page is about the Big Dipper, also called the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major ).
However, the ancient pagan cultures did not see this constellation as God intended it to be seen.
It is actually a headless woman in childbirth.
This is seen in springtime in the northern skies.

As we go about our daily routine, we all-too-often become oblivious to the heartache, loneliness, sadness, injustice, tragedy and misery all around, in every direction.

And all the while, Hollywood keeps churning out feel-good movies…

…movies like that old one called, “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”, which the entire family loved and laughed at.

Yes, that movie really made the world seem so fun and happy!

But the sad fact is, it’s actually a really, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad world! And a Sad one too!
We get out of bed in the morning, barely cognizant that half the world’s inhabitants are intensely suffering, for one reason or another!

We drink our cup of morning Joe, without a thought for the millions who are being kidnapped and sold into slavery, both in this society and around the world!
.
.
And as we drive down to the mall, we hardly consider how many elderly ones are sitting alone at home, in their dark room, hurting and suffering in one way or another.
.
.
And we turn our head the other direction to avoid meeting eyes with that beggar on the corner, whose body and mind has been ravaged by years of alcohol or drug abuse.
.
.
And as we wander from shop to shop, there are many living with little or no hope, all because that cruel iron citadel known as “atheism” has left them without any hope for the future!
.
.
We place our order at the drive-thru window…
.
…with little cognizance of the starving multitudes who can just barely hang on for another day, merely existing in their world of stark scarcity…
.
…sometimes even eating the dung of animals, just to survive!
.
.
And we hurry home from church service to catch that big game…
.
…blissfully ignorant that hundreds of thousands of unsaved souls are slipping down into their Christless graves each and every day…
.
…hopelessly lost for all eternity!
.
(Not to mention the countless number of voiceless pre-born infants who are snuffed out of existence, mostly for convenience’s sake!)
.
.
And as we lie down each night, seemingly safe and secure in bed, not realizing that thousands are being savagely displaced by Satan’s cruel armies…
.
…having to flee to wherever they can find refuge…
.
…often ending up slaughtered by heartless monsters, merely devils inhabiting human bodies!
God has placed the stars in such a way that tells this marvelous concept of lifting up the Cross of Christ: self-sacrificing love for Mankind.

First, Orion, representing Christ, lifts up the Cross.
.
Then, just a little later, the 7 Stars Constellation, representing God’s Church finally lifts up the Cross, seemingly in response to Orion’s prior example.
.
These two constellations are the two brightest and most prominent constellations in the winter-night sky.
.

The sketch to the right is of the ‘7 Stars’ Constellation as it is seen through the first half of winter, as it imitates Orion.
HOLY SPIRIT “TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY (OUT OF THE MIDST)”

Yes, now it’s so low, that the Spirit of Holiness has vacated Himself, as is written…
“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:
only he who now lets (allows) will let (allow),
until he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed,
whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth,
and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:”
2nd Thessalonians 2:7, 8.

This above passage appears to be saying that this apostasy will continue, until God’s Spirit is finally taken out of the way (out of the midst) of the church-world.
And just what other scripture might give impetus that this interpretation of 2nd Thessalonians is indeed referring to the Holy Spirit being taken out of the midst of the churches?
.
Well, listen to the following passage…
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth,
and shall be turned unto fables.”
2nd Timothy 4:3, 4.

Here in this passage, is a description of the end-time church-world, in which the congregations will no longer tolerate sound doctrine.
But the great problem is that most of the church-world doesn’t understand how far we have fallen!
.
We have been bombarded with the false standard for so long, that we are not cognizant of what the true standard of Church righteousness should actually be!
.
And so, in order to understand just how far the bar has been lowered in the Christian world, it is necessary to understand just what the correct standard was.
Now, beside these above passages, one could easily pull many other similar passages out of both Testaments to prove just where the bar of Salvation should be properly set.

But these four passages give enough evidence and concern that the bar of standard in the church has been set considerably lower!
.
Now at this point, one will ask, “Well, what does Satan hope to gain by lowering the bar, if Salvation is a free gift, not dependent on works?”
.
Well, this website has many devotionals concerning this issue.
It is Ursa Major, AKA The Great Bear, and her right leg and her torso is commonly known as the The Big Dipper .

This jesus thrives on moralistic behavior, business suits and college degrees, respectable careers, beautiful church buildings, arched ceilings, fashionable church membership, country club memberships and every other badge of honor that gets applause and respect from the world.

Yes, with this jesus, I can have the best of both worlds: I can have my praise from jesus, and retain my praise from men too!
Yes, this jesus preaches the Gospel According To Pollyanna.

In other words, just as Pollyanna found the 800 totally non-offensive Bible verses, so too, this jesus will bring me into a gospel, which is like getting a lobotomy!

Such a gospel is like that Walmart smiley-face! “Happy, happy, happy!”
Some ethnic jargon, some colorful clothing, some traditional ceremonies, maybe some chants, and some tambourines, and some cultural music, and maybe even some dancing, too!

Yes, that jesus is waiting for me: waiting to divide the body of Christ into tiny little individual cultural factions!
But the Good News is, the Narrow Gate will accommodate poor, repentant, wretched, miserable, sinners (us), who are very willing to leave behind all our worldly gods at the door!

Just look at the Pilgrim here, standing at the Cross!
Yes, that heavy bag there on the ground, was all the heavy burden of sin, which fell off, when the Pilgrim met Jesus at the Cross!
And all my heavy baggage can fall off my back too!

And the true Jesus is very willing to begin the process of purification, to cleanse my wicked heart of my love for all those many gods I once served, when in the world!

PSYCHOLOGY & ATHEISM
.
And psychology has become a close companion of atheism.
.
Yes, being mostly an atheistic science, psychology attempted to explain the workings of the human mind, not realizing that unseen spiritual influences, both good and evil, are constantly at work in the lives of human beings.
So, when an individual was experiencing various troubles, he or she might have been in the midst of harassment by unseen evil angels.
.
Or when that same individual was experiencing joy, or peace of mind, it might have been because angels of God had chased away those demonic spirits for a time to give that person a much-needed rest.
But psychology usually completely missed the big point about sorrow.
.
And the big point was this: God may have been allowing that “storm cloud” of sadness to hang over a Christian’s head, in order to cause that Christian to seek a closer relationship with the Lord.
.
Psychology’s goal was to get the person happy, and back to “normal” life in the world!
If God wishes for the Christian to get more exercise, God may inspire His trusting child with such things as taking daily walks (or even a bike-ride) while praying or just contemplating Scripture.
.
So, the Lord may put that Believer on such things as a walk/prayer exercise program instead of going off in a completely different direction, such as joining a time-consuming, secular running club.
.
Or maybe raising a garden, or other things which have so much more meaning!
But God has faithfully created this wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.
Because this wave of water is basically comprised of ten stars.
The main body of the wave has seven stars (#’s 1 thru 7, in the sketch), and the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars, (#’s 8, 9, 10).
So in this wave, we see the same 7/10 numbering found in the Revelation description of the heads/horns/crowns of the Dragon.
And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent.
Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

2nd CUSTOMER: “Oh I don’t want that! It’s too hard to digest! I’m going to have some of this soft Jello with bits of “fruit of the Spirit”. That’s all my stomach can handle!”

3rd CUSTOMER: “WOW! How bout that “meat of the Word” down there! Doesn’t that look great!?”

2nd CUSTOMER: “There again, it’s much too much for my weak stomach! I’ll just have some nice soft beginning-doctrines-vegetables and a glass of milk-of-the-Word!”

1st CUSTOMER: “Oh boy, I’m just gonna bypass all that bread and meat of the Word, and merely have some nice angel-food-cake-of-good-works”

4th CUSTOMER: “Well, I’m gonna have some of that rich-looking Prosperity-Gospel Devil’s-Food-cake covered by a thin coating of form-of-godliness-frosting!”
Someone may argue at this point, saying, “Well I don’t want to be part of the ‘frozen chosen’.
I just want to do humanitarian good works!
You know…clothing the naked and feeding the hungry!”

Well, it’s fine to do these good works. By all means, send money or food or clothing!
.
But don’t be like Mr. Obstinate here, refusing to escape from the City of Destruction, and refusing to walk that upward Pilgrim’s Pathway to the Celestial City!
Yes, what these kinds of pick-n-choose arguments don’t take into account is that the highest form of love is the Salvation of lost souls.
.
You can give food baskets and send used clothing to the needy, but these will not save their soul.
.
On the other hand, there is no greater love, than to lead starving and thirsty souls to “the bread from Heaven”, and to “the water of life”! (John 6:31, 32 & Revelation 21:6, 22:1, 17)
As we read of the manner in which the early Apostles went into the world, we behold the example set for us of how we are to likewise win the world for Christ.

And the more we know about Jesus, through His Word, the more intelligently we can be led by God’s Spirit.
.
It’s like that saying, “Give a man a fish, and he will live another day! Teach a man to fish, and he will live a lifetime!”
.
But to these words of wisdom, we might add… “But teach a man to be a fisher-for-the-souls-of-men, and he will live for all eternity!”
Christ speaks of the glorious Rest which is offered to all who come unto Him, and put on His yoke of service…
“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30

But let’s not become disheartened by the steep mountain we must climb! Jesus will help us, step-by-step.

Our job is to merely sit at His feet and hear His Word.

And finally, our great work is to cling to His precious promises, and sing His glorious praises, as He carries us up that golden pathway that leads to the Celestial City of the Heavenly King!

Still another danger signal, is when the teacher is given to humor and jesting!

Listen… “Therefore thus saith the LORD…
if thou take forth the precious from the vile,
thou shalt be as My mouth:
let them (apostate church-members) return unto thee;
but return not thou unto them.”
Jeremiah 5:19

As this above verse reveals, God’s Spirit is grieved by joking and jesting and quipping, by His ministers!

There has been a general consensus among the Twentieth Century Bible teachers, that Ezekiel, Chapter 37, which speaks of the Valley of Dry Bones, concerns the nation of Israel, over there in Palestine.
.
Yes, since the reforming of Israel in 1948, Bible teachers have bent the prophecies concerning Israel into the direction of National Israel in modern-day Palestine.
.
The problem with this notion is that what Ezekiel saw could not be speaking of today’s National Israel.
.
Because there are a number of inconsistencies which prevents National Israel from being the fulfillment of Ezekiel’s vision.
First, Ezekiel says…“Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel:” Ezekiel 37:11
.
The reason this cannot be speaking of literal National Israel, is that it is certainly not the“whole house of Israel”.
.
Because National Israel is the home of about 10,000,000 people of Jewish descent. And even if it were twice that number, it only represents a tiny percentage of humans with Jewish blood! And so, when God says this Valley of Dry Bones is the “whole house of Israel”, literal National Israel is merely a tiny portion of “Israel, after the flesh”. 1st Corinthians 10:18
.
The number of people around the world who have Jewish blood, may be upwards in the neighborhood of nearly half the earth’s inhabitants, though most are not aware of their Jewish blood!
Second, God says…“O My people…(I) shall put My Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall yeknow that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.” Ezekiel 37:13, 14
.
And so, here is another prophecy which cannot be speaking of literal Israel in Palestine, even though it speaks here of, “your land”.
.
Because, those Jewish inhabitants of today’s National Israel, while many may be outwardly nice people, (and our heart yearns for their Salvation), are definitely not Christians, and show absolutely no interest in becoming Christians, for the most part!
.
God has not put “My Spirit” in them, for the most part.
.
They are mostly as spiritually dead as are the Palestinian people living in that same area!
Listen…“And when He (Jesus) saw a fig tree in the way, He came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.” Matthew 21:19.
.
The general consensus among theologians is that this fig tree here in Matthew, represents National Israel over by the Mediterranean Sea. And so, this curse, “Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever”, actually was a curse upon the nation of Israel.
.
No, it was not a curse upon the Jewish people as individuals.
.
But was a curse upon the national governmental organization of Israel itself!
And here is another passage which further clarifies things….“Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in Thy sight, O LORD. We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.” Isaiah 26:17, 18
.
Now this seems to be speaking of the Church. And this above passage is speaking of bringing forth Christ.
.
Listen…“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,” Galatians 4:19
.
So here is a complementary verse which further clarifies this concept of bringing forth Christ. The churches of Galatia were teetering on the brink of apostasy! As the body of Christ, they were just about fallen from grace!
.
And so, Paul himself felt the pains of labor (spiritually speaking), hoping and waiting for the Galatian churches to bring forth Christ!
And here is a confirmation that we are on the right track…“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2nd Timothy 4:3, 4
.
And so, this passage is a prophecy of a time when the churches will no longer tolerate sound doctrine!
So, the big question is,“Has the Church reached this condition? Will the Church no longer endure sound doctrine? or have they heaped to themselves teachers, having itching ears?”
.
Well, one thing is for sure! There is a heap of teachers today, isn’t there?
.
We now live in a day in which, at the click of a mouse, we can choose from any one of a thousand of Bible teachers to listen to!
“Dear Lord, I have been drinking at the broken cisterns of the world. Bring me back to the fountain of the water of life, that I may freely drink of Thy Spirit…
And Arcturus is that brilliant star (3rd brightest in our heavens) which leads these Gospel constellations, Summer, Fall, and Winter Constellations, to present a picture story, a heavenly allegory of sorts; these constellations, which together, tell of the incredible love of God.
.
And Arcturus, our Host Star, will lead to an understanding of God’s Word, which will, in turn, guide God’s people up a narrow pathway; onward and upward through Heaven’s Gate itself, and ultimately into the very heavenly City of God!
.
Oh don’t doubt for a moment that God cannot or will not do this! For with God, all things are possible! Listen…“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23
.
And Signs Of Heaven Website will direct the Reader to God’s Word in such a way as to bring out certain Bible truths not currently recognized or emphasized in most of the current Christian theological circles.

LOCATING ARCTURUS…
.
An easy way to find Arcturus is to follow the arc of the handle of the Big Dipper, in the spring through fall (these are the months in which Arcturus is visible).
.
SUMMER CONSTELLATIONS: (Sketch to right: constellations span the heavens (Ark in south, 7 Stars in north), and travel from east to west through the night.
The laws of music are obeyed but also blended perfectly by the music-master’s touch.
.
So too, Jesus knew how to walk in obedience and yet blend the various laws together in such a way, that could only be accomplished by the indwelling power and leading of the Holy Spirit.
And much like the master-composer, Christ also had hidden the law within His heart from the days of childhood.
.
And guided by the Spirit of Holiness, He walked in the beauty of holiness (see Psalms 29:2), as He led His disciples through the highways and byways of Israel.
.
The life of Christ was as a beautiful symphony.
.
The law flowed out naturally and harmoniously; and this was something the Jews (and the world) had never before seen!
When a person begins the process of purifying the heart and soul, thus begins the pilgrimage to the destination of true holiness.
.
More and more, that true worshipper hides God’s “exceeding great and precious promises” in his or her heart.
More and more, that Believer separates from all unnecessary filth and ungodliness.
.
And in the process of time, that child of God is so filled with God’s Word, and the wisdom which comes from a multitude of past personal experiences, that he or she becomes also like a walking symphony.
.
And this is God’s desire for you and for me!
.
And we each need to begin to hide God’s Word in our hearts and plead with God to purify us, even as gold is purified…

Basically, this picture described by Interpreter is a symbolic picture of “total Christian dedication”!

WHO IS THAT MAN?
.
Now the true identity of this man in the picture is not given, although the Interpreter hinted that he was very Christ-like.

But the Interpreter warned the pilgrim that this man was the only one trustworthy to advise Heavenbound pilgrims, who wind up in difficult circumstances.
.
And furthermore, he warned the pilgrim that those who DO NOT measure up to this picture are NOT to be trusted as advisers.
.
And this is the point of today’s devotional.

PAUL WAS LIKE THIS MAN!
.
Now the apostle, Paul, was such a man as the man in this picture.
.
Yes, Paul was the very essence of all these qualities that were present in that very symbolic picture shown to the pilgrim.
But before we explore these questions, let’s take a look at why these two sets of stars represent these two biblical gates.
.
(This sketch, while not 100% accurate, gives a fair portrayal of how this constellation group appears at winter’s end and even into June, when above the western horizon.)

HOW THE GATES RELATE TO ORION & DRAGON
.
This sketch below is when these constellations are in the eastern sky in early winter (However, this constellation group can even be seen as early as July, in the pre-dawn hours).

In the eastern sky, it’s not so easily seen which gate the Revelation 12 Woman will enter.
Satan spews out the deadly water of his false worldly ideologies…

…which many of these ideologies have a form of godliness, but in some way are not in harmony…
.
…or perhaps these worldly ideologies add to the Bible, which is strictly forbidden (see Deuteronomy 4:2).
.
On the other hand, the Strait Gate (narrow gate) is composed of the two brightest stars of the Orion The Reaper’s sickle. The true Strait Gate represents Jesus, the Word of God.

In John Bunyan’s incredible allegorical tale, Pilgrim’s Progress, there was a very curious picture hanging on the wall, which Interpreter showed the Pilgrim.
.
And this was a symbolic picture.
.
But let’s listen to Bunyan, as he describes this picture…
.
Christian saw the Picture of a very grave Person hang up against the wall; and this was the fashion of it…
…It had eyes lifted up to Heaven…
…the best of Books in his hand…
…the Law of Truth was written upon his lips…
…the World was behind his back…
…it stood as if it pleaded with men, and a Crown of Gold did hang over his head.”

So, here was a picture of a man who was totally dedicated to declaring God’s Word.
.
And he obviously had left this sinful world behind him.
.
His eyes were now fixed on Heaven.
.
And he sought for that glorious and promised crown!
Listen to what behavior the Lord approves of in His people…“That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.” Titus 2:2
.
But such sober-minded behavior is not just for aged men.
.
Listen again…“Likewise must the deacons be grave,” 1st Timothy 3:8
.
But deacons and the aged are not the only ones.
.
Listen once again…
…”Even so must their wives be grave,
not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.”
1st Timothy 3:11
.
But the aged, and deacons and their wives are not the only ones to be sober and grave.
.
Listen just once more…
…”Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded…
in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity…”
Titus 2:6-8 (Condensed)

Yes, Titus was exhorted here by Paul, to show himself an example, even to the young men: an example of gravity and sober-mindedness, as well as other similar behavior.
What we need to understand is, that Bunyan was also describing Christ, our divine role-model, in that picture!
.
Oh yes, Jesus was warm and sympathetic and merciful.
.
But Christ was not a joker!
.
Christ was not a clown, nor was He some furry and lovable little puppy dog!
.
No, Christ and His angels were totally majestic and reverent and yes, even grave!
.
And it is no accident that there is no joking around ever found in the Bible!
.

FOOLISH TALK & JESTING
.
Listen to Paul…“But…all uncleanness…
let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor FOOLISH TALKING, NOR JESTING…“
Ephesians 5:3, 4, 6. (Condensed)

But also, among the other ungodly behavior mentioned in this passage is also condemned, “foolish talk, nor jesting”.
.
And all we need to do is just examine the ministry of Jesus, and we will see that His life and words were totally consistent with this passage from Ephesians, Ch. 5.
Now just because we are to be grave doesn’t mean we are to be stern.
.
No, Christ had constant joy in His heart.
.
And this joy radiated from Him, in spite of the fact that He was, “a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief”. Isaiah 53:3
.
And as parents, we need to manifest the same gentleness, kindness, warmth, and joy with every family member, even engaging with the very little ones in their childish games and imaginations at times.
Someone said, “The greatest sermon ever preached is a warm, friendly smile!”
.
There doesn’t need to be hilarity, nor silliness, nor sarcasm, nor worldliness, nor comedy, nor any other unchristlike behavior.
.
But rather, love, joy, peace, patience, understanding, sympathy, kindness, gentleness, and a warm, loving smile are perhaps the greatest weapons against all false charges!
“And there appeared a great wonder (sign) in heaven; a woman…
and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.”
Revelation 12:1.

This rather dim constellation follows behind that bright and beautiful star, Arcturus, as Arcturus leads a heavenly ambassage through the heavens each night in summer.
.
Every glorious crown should be studded with precious jewels, and this one is no exception.
.
Though these “jewels” are stars, they represent the precious jewels spoken of throughout Scripture, when speaking about God’s people.
It is relatively dim, compared to those two bright constellations.

LOCATING THIS CROWN…
.
This constellation begins to appear in late December (just before dawn), but is best seen, mid-sky when this group of constellations can be seen when facing west.
.
In March-April, very late in the pre-dawn hours, this Summer Constellation group begins to be seen when facing west, and continues to be seen in the west until fall.
.
The Crown follows almost directly behind that great star, Arcturus, as you can see in the sketch.
.
Repeat: it is somewhat easier to study the 12 stars of this constellation when it is in western half of night-sky (when you have to see it as you face westward).

So when these Summer Constellations are in the western half of the sky, simply follow the handle of the Big Dipper till you locate Arcturus.

Then the Crown is following Arcturus.

You will only see the wreath-like 7 stars plus 1 star (in middle) until you get away from all city lights.

Then you can make out the other 5 stars, which makes it appear like a full crown.

HOW THE GATES RELATE TO ORION & DRAGON

This sketch below is when these constellations are in the eastern sky in early winter (However, this constellation group can even be seen as early as July, in the pre-dawn hours).

In the eastern sky, it’s not so easily seen which gate the Revelation 12 Woman will enter.
Satan spews out the deadly water of his false worldly ideologies…

…which many of these ideologies have a form of godliness, but in some way are not in harmony…

There are many today who teach that not all Scripture is to be trusted.
.
For instance, those who are seeking after “social justice” or “political correctness”may assert that some portions of the Bible were written only for some local situation back at the time when the Bible was being written.
And so all such portions are no longer relevant, according to them.
.
Others who have some doctrinal agenda may try to negate portions of the Bible that disagree with their “pet” church doctrine.
.
Still others will insist that the Bible can only be rightly interpreted by the leaders of their own particular denomination.
.
And still others insist that the Bible is only the thoughts of God, which the Bible writers merely wrote those thoughts in their own human words.
So here it says that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God”.
.
Now this should take care of the false notion that the words of the Bible (penned in the original texts) were not inspired, but that just His main thoughts of the Bible are inspired, they say.
.
Nonsense!
.
And, as further confirmation, it should be remembered that much of the Bible is God speaking in the “first-person” context.
.
For instance, God says…
“Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts,
the mighty One of Israel,
Ah, I will ease Me of Mine adversaries,
and avenge Me of Mine enemies:
And I will turn My hand upon thee,
and purely purge away thy dross,
and take away all thy tin:”
Isaiah 1:24, 25.

So obviously this is more than merely the thoughts of God.
Another proof that the Bible is more than just the thoughts of God, are these words spoken by Jesus, when going through His temptations from the Devil…
“But He (Jesus) answered and said, It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:4

Do you see the point here? Jesus is commanding us to live by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

So this must mean that the words of the Bible are the very words of God!
“Dear Lord, Give me a greater trust in Thy Word. Give me a greater knowledge of Thy Word, because Thou hast commanded me to live by every word that proceeds out of Thy mouth…
So these two events go hand in hand simultaneously.

In John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, the pilgrim, Christian met up with Mr. Worldly Wiseman, who directed the Pilgrim to the Village of Morality.

Yes, Worldly Wiseman convinced Christian that he didn’t need to go to all the trouble of going all the way to the Celestial City.
He could just live a nice moral life in this world, without needlessly going through all the trials and sorrows that Christians must endure, as they continue their Heaven-ward sojourn.
.
And so, concerning this we read in Pilgrim’s Progress…
“So CHRISTIAN turned out of his way to go to Mr. LEGALITY’S house for help.
But, behold, when he was got now hard by the hill, it seemed so high, and also the side of it that was next the wayside did hang so much over, that CHRISTIAN was afraid to venture farther, lest the hill should fall on his head;
wherefore there he stood still, and knew not what to do.
Also his burden now seemed heavier to him than while he was in his way.
There came also flashes of fire out of the hill, that made CHRISTIAN afraid that he should be burned”
.
Now the Pilgrim described this great high mountain as Mount Sinai, which biblically represents the condemnation of the Law.
.
And this mountain was hanging dangerously over the pathway to the Village of Morality (which symbolized those who attempt to live a moral life, vainly attempting to keep the Law by good works.)
Notice what it says concerning this high hill, “But, behold, when he (Christian) was got now hard by the hill, it seemed so high,
and also the side of it that was next the wayside did hang so much over,
that CHRISTIAN was afraid to venture farther,
lest the hill should fall on his head;”
.
So, if I go to Signs Of Heaven and view the three mountains which comprise the Valley of Decision Constellation Group, I notice that the middle mountain, which symbolizes the Mount of Cursing (Mount Sinai & the Law), seems to lean heavily to one side, the side which is toward the Valley of Decision.
.
So, it seems that John Bunyan fairly accurately described this middle mountain-constellation, made largely of the Pegasus Constellation.
.
Can you see what an impossible climb this middle mountain would be?

THE MOUNT OF BLESSING
.
Now it’s even more interesting that the Pilgrim was ultimately destined for the Celestial City, the heavenly Mount Zion.
.
And once again, this Valley of Decision Constellation shows the mountain on the farthest left as the Mount of Blessing, Mount Zion (comprised mostly of the Cassiopeia Constellation).
And notice in this drawing, the Galaxy, Andromeda (which is in the Valley of Decision), appears as if it is making its way up to the top of the Mount of Blessing (Cassiopeia).

This Andromeda Galaxy represents all those pilgrims through the ages, who decide to make the Pilgrim’s Sojourn out of the City of Destruction, (i.e., the World), to their ultimate destiny, the Celestial City, the heavenly Zion!

IN THE VALLEY OF DECISION

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:14

Now of course, Bunyan’s character, Christian, ultimately decided to turn away from that foreboding-looking mountain, and from the Town of Morality which sat there right next to that Mount Sinai.

Yes, this Pilgrim decided to seek “a better country, that is, an heavenly:” Hebrews 11:16.
.
This pilgrim decided to continue on his pilgrimage to the Celestial City.
But that Valley of Decision is still awaiting my decision.
.
Will I accept a compromised gospel?
Am I willing to merely live a moral life, so that I can still seek after all the self-indulgent pleasures and proud pursuits of this present world?
.
Or am I willing to leave this City of Morality, i.e., this present world, and seek for that “better country”, that is, the heavenly Mount Zion, the Celestial City of God?
Now there is much, much more to Bunyan’s account of the Village of Morality, and the high mountain which sat next to it.

And all are encouraged to get a faithful copy of that book and read it (or listen to an audio version, via the Internet.)

And there is much, much more to this Valley of Decision Constellation Group, as well! And all are likewise encouraged to read the articles concerning them.

But of course, the Bible is the best book of all!

And though it can be very difficult at times, all are encouraged to study it and contemplate it!
No, that wonderful allegory, Pilgrim’s Progress is certainly no replacement for the Bible.

Nor is it infallible, like the Bible.
But it does bring to light the sojourn which the Christian Pilgrim walks, in such a way, that clarifies just what true Christianity really is all about!

And like no other man-written book, Pilgrim’s Progress really clarifies just what are the many dangers and deceptions which assail Christians every day, as we journey through this dark and evil world, on our way to that Celestial City, the heavenly Mount Zion!

In John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, the two pilgrims, Christian and Hopeful, were walking through the Enchanted Ground.
.
And as they faithfully progressed toward their desired destination, the Celestial City, they met up with a character named Ignorance.
And though Ignorance was also headed for the Celestial City, he did not begin his journey at the Wicket Gate (which symbolized Christ).
.
And of course, Ignorance symbolized those who claim to be Christians, yet are void of the Spirit and destitute of the truth of the Bible.
And it did not take long for the two pilgrims to realize that Ignorance was a pretender.
.
And after they angrily parted ways from each other, the two pilgrims began a discourse about just what Ignorance was all about, and where he went wrong in his thinking.
Now one interesting aspect of this encounter, was that in their discussion about why Ignorance had gone astray, they mentioned this: That Ignorance refused to question his own sinfulness (and probably his lack of Salvation), thinking it would be a denial of faith to ever question such things.
Now the reason for bringing this up, is because this very same mistaken notion still exists today within the Christian churches and denominations.

Yes, there are many popular evangelists and teachers today who teach this exact same error: namely that it is a denial of faith to ever question one’s salvation.
.
And this great presumptuous error is not just taught by those crazy gospels, but it is even taught by many of the most conservative and revered radio and TV Bible teachers!
Oh yes, these same “fork-tongued” Bible teachers will sometimes quote this verse, encouraging their parishioners to “examine yourselves”.
.
And yet, they will mostly flatter and deceive their rather naïve and unlearned congregation, leading them to believe that they are “signed, sealed and soon-to-be delivered saints”!
This, of course, is a great error/deception by the Enemy-of-Souls, especially considering the pandemic apostasy and decadence in today’s mammon-loving, prosperity-driven church-world!

But the fact is, by depriving their children of a Christian upbringing, such parents will miss out on some of the really big joys, which only Christian parents get to experience.
.
Such joys as hearing the child say, “I love Jesus!”
Or the first time that the child joins the family in singing a worship song around the family altar.
Or the first time the child recites a Bible verse.
.
And then, as the child gets older, the times of joy continue.
For instance, the first time that parents see the child reading the Bible or praying all by themselves.
Or the joy that parents feel when the child chooses home-schooling over going to a public school.
Or the first time the child makes the choice to read the Bible rather than some secular book.
.
Then as the child even gets older and continues to enjoy Christian victories, parents receive great joy from seeing each and every victory as their child chooses to reject sin!
.
These are just a few of the countless joys that the Christian parent experiences with their children.
But the greatest joy that Christ-loving parents will experience is on Resurrection Morning, when they see their son or daughter also rise up from the grave, to meet Jesus!
.
And an equally wonderful joy will be when they get to see their son or daughter throughout all eternity, experiencing the never-ending joys that God has in store for all those who were redeemed from this lost and hopelessly dying world.
.
This is the greatest joy that any parent could ever experience, and is worth more than all those supposed sacrifices that Christian Pilgrims make in Jesus’ name.
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Mark 8:36, 37
.
So perhaps the question to be asked is this: is it worth trading away all the everlasting joys for both me and my children so that I can enjoy a few selfish years of miserable pleasures here on earth?
.
This above passage recounts the very words of Jesus Christ, and is directed to each and every one of us!
.
And none of those little earthly pleasures and joys can ever compare to the great joy that awaits all those who are willing to walk the Pilgrim’s Way to that heavenly city!
.
“And the ransomed of the LORD shall return,
and come to Zion with songs
and everlasting joy upon their heads:
they shall obtain joy and gladness,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
Isaiah 35:10
.
Yes, gladness and joy will be the everlasting reward of the redeemed ones!
An easy way to find Arcturus is to follow the arc of the handle of the Big Dipper, in the spring through fall (these are the months in which Arcturus is visible).

…that by steadfastly beholding Jesus in the mind’s eye, each true believer imperceptibly and gradually becomes changed into His glorious and holy image.

And this is a wonderful and joyful truth!
.
Perhaps it is the greatest truth in the Bible, second only to the truth of Salvation!
Now it is evident that the Jesus of the Bible is the very savor of all that is good, and the very essence of all that is true, and honest, and pure, and purely lovely, and all that is holy and righteous.
.
Yes, Jesus is love, in the truest sense of the word!
.
And as already discussed in yesterday’s devotional (click here to read), by steadfastly beholding those things which are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and etc., we become changed into that very same image.
.
So, the trick then, is to steadfastly behold the things which exemplify the characteristics of Christ.
.
And such a wonderful ability can only become reality by a full surrender to Jesus, forsaking this selfish world to follow Him, as one of His disciples. (see Luke 5:11 & Luke 14:33)
But also, it is likewise true, that if I behold the other things in life, which are not of these godly qualities, then those unwholesome qualities will enter into my heart, causing me to become imperceptibly changed into the image of evil.
.
Yes, by beholding the qualities which rule in this world, I become changed into the image of the world: into the image of an Antichrist!
.
And this truth is confirmed with such Bible passages as this… “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1st Corinthians 15:33.
(Some of the modern versions say to the effect… “Don’t be deceived! Bad company corrupts good character!”)

SHUN ALL NEEDLESS EVIL
.
Now of course, it is impossible to live in this world and NOT witness evil. You don’t need to go far to see sinful selfishness!

But that’s no excuse for me to voluntarily behold evil!

Listen to the Psalmist… “I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes:” Psalm 101:2, 3.

Here again is a Bible passage which only confirms the course which every Heaven-bound pilgrim must pursue…“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes!”

Now this statement doesn’t allow for any compromise with sin, does it?
There is still time to repent and turn away from this great sin of presumption.
.
Yes, the Christian can determine to turn away from any more of this foolish mingling with the world and this unholy alliance with sin and selfishness!
.
The Bible commands us to… “come out from among them,
and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you,
and ye shall be My sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty.”
2nd Corinthians 6:17, 18.

And if we take these words to heart and do come out from these ungodly influences, then God…”…will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters“
#2 HEAVENLY SPHERE & #2 COMMANDMENT… As discussed elsewhere in this website, the Sun seems to correspond to the First Commandment.
Likewise, Mercury, which is the second heavenly sphere in our solar system, seems to correspond very nicely to the Second Commandment.
Both the second heavenly sphere (Mercury) and the Second Commandment (no images) are closest to the ‘Sun’.
That is to say, just as planet Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun, so is the Second Commandment right next to the First Commandment (God compares himself to the Sun many times in Scripture).

OUR PILGRIMAGE BEGINS AT THE CROSS

And so, here’s the point of today’s devotional: Just like Pilgrim, those who truly lay down their burden of sin and guilt at the Cross are to continue on in our pilgrimage.
.
Oh yes, the Cross is where the Christian receives everlasting life.
But the Cross is really just where the road divides.
.
“What road?”,you ask?
But those who are pretentious will take that other path.
But those who truly walk the Pilgrim’s pathway, go on to a greater and greater devotion and a deeper and deeper death-to-self!
.
Yes, those who truly fix their gaze on Christ, will ever-so-gradually be “transformed into Christ’s image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of Holiness”.
This is the true Pilgrim’s Pathway! (2nd Corinthians 3:18)
Yes, the Bible speaks of a time when God will separate the wheat from the tares.

This is spoken of in Matthew’s Gospel…
“Let both grow together until the harvest:
and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,
Gather ye together first the tares,
and bind them in bundles to burn them:
but gather the wheat into My barn.”
Matthew 13:30.

When this separation time comes, that is when…
“ye (shall) return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked,
between him that serveth God
and him that serveth Him not.”
Malachi 3:18.

Yes, there is coming the day (and even now is here!) when God’s people will be able to easily discern between the Believers and those who are merely vain deceivers.
“Dear Lord, Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23, 24

And yet in this perfect world, just imagine that the television still existed.

And yet, the TV still was there in the midst of our cottages.
But it no longer had all the scum and violence and greed and cheap humor and sarcasm and lust and all the other filth that is all-too-often being peddled on TV.
.
No, instead of all that, there were only nice and wholesome and happy and pure shows. Everything was G+ rated!
A survey by pollsters found that only a small percentage of American churchgoers actually opened their Bibles each day!
.
Of course, they should also have questioned the daily Bible-students on exactly HOW MUCH TIME they study their Bible daily, to get a more realistic idea of the spiritual condition of today’s Church.
.
But they didn’t.
.
After all, to simply open the Bible and read a verse or two, or to merely read a 3-minute daily-devotional, hardly qualifies one to say that they study their Bible each day!
.
And another poll found that most Christians believe that “God helps those who help themselves” is actually a verse from the Bible!
.
So, what does this statistic say about today’s biblically-challenged Christianity?
“O how love I Thy law! it is my meditation all the day.”
Psalm 119:97
.
Yes, if pollsters had only asked how much time those who said they read the Bible each day, actually contemplated what they studied, they might have found a dismal answer!
.
But listen to Psalm 119…“O how love I Thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97
.
This verse from Psalm 119 states that we should be contemplating God’s Word “ALL THE DAY”!
“The full soul loathes a honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.”
Proverbs 27:7.

So how does this above proverb apply to every-day life?
.
In many ways!
.
For instance, one frustrated father kept trying to get his son to eat some really healthy home-made granola.
Now the father loved that granola, but the son was accustomed only to pre-sweetened breakfast cereal, which his mother served.
.
Well, one day, when the father and the boy were both at a park, the father also brought along a bag of that unsweetened granola.
.
Well, after playing on the Jungle-Gym and running and swinging and jumping a while, the tired, but hungry son came over to the father and asked if he could have some of that granola.
The same granola he wouldn’t normally touch!
.
Well now, the hungry boy just couldn’t get enough!
He devoured that unsweetened granola, as if it was the best thing on earth!
And so, because God designed nature to teach us spiritual lessons, the obvious lesson learned from this little granola story, can also be applied to television!
.
After all, how can you expect a child who is reared on all the lights, color, music and action from, say, today’s cartoons, to sit down and study the various Bible passages which need to be unlocked, to get the true meaning!?!
.
And furthermore, with TV, all you have to do is just turn it on, and sit back and it takes over, and does everything else!
Your job is merely to keep your eyes open!
.
Yes, even good television shows are like those rich and sugary breakfast cereals.
They spoil one’s appetite for healthy food!
And TV spoils one’s appetite for serious Bible & concordance study.
Television is just too over-stimulating!
.
And if television is too stimulating, then what about radio and Internet and cellphones, and all the other high-tech devices?
And even if there are a few “nice” shows, the Devil’s not stupid!
He’s clever enough to throw in a few good shows, just so he can give Christians an excuse to keep their TV, (thus whetting the appetite of the children for more and more and more!)
.
So, when we see our children grow up, not having a love for studying God’s Word, will we have anybody else to blame but ourselves, if our past history has been to raise them up to love these modern-day mind-control devices?
.

But there is good news!
The Christian can begin in his or her own life, by eliminating all ungodly influences and all over-stimulating amusements and begin to purify the heart! (see 1st John 3:3)

Yes, God calls us to fully engage in the purification of our heart! (see 1st John 3:3) (And by working out my own Salvation, perhaps the Lord will convince my spouse to bring along the children on the upward pathway, too!)

And so, as Psalm 101 proclaims… “I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes:” Psalm 101:2, 3.

So, let’s all take heed to this counsel.
And even if we must sit alone at times, let’s remember what’s at stake: our very Salvation!
“Dear Lord, Remove out of my life (and my children’s lives) all things which cause the heart to become over-stimulated, so that I have an appetite for spiritual things…

Orion travels through the night skies, starting about late September in the pre-dawn hours.

Yes, because a wise man’s eyes are in his head, it can be said…

So, from these above passages, it is becoming evident that the Christian life is a one of miraculous power: a power from far above, which energizes the Christian in such a way: a way which cannot be explained to those who have not experienced it!

It is a pilgrim’s journey which begins here on earth, but leads upward unto a Heavenly Country, and into the golden courts of the Celestial City of God!

UNDER THE STARRY SKY (OR IN A MALL)

Yes, there are places the Christian can go, which surpass all human understanding!

To walk under the starry canopy of Heaven, while silently crying out to the Lord for one’s needs, is an excursion which transcends human language to describe!

Even in the one’s confinement, the Christian can be transported into Heaven’s Throne-Room!
And for those on their sick-bed, they have this promise…
“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion:
in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me;
He shall set me up upon a Rock.”
Psalm 27:5.

So here is a wonderful place the Christian can go, even while upon one’s own bed!
Because remember, “The wise man’s eyes are in his head;” Ecclesiastes 2:14.

So even a blind person needs not be left out! And this is why those Believers who are sick in body, even terminally ill, still have great hope, yes, “joy unspeakable”!
And as far as getting away from all the madness of this work-a-day world, we also have a divine promise from God…
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31.

As the Believer goes to his or her secret place of prayer, the soul becomes renewed and reinvigorated by a fresh baptism of God’s Spirit of Holiness.

Now this above verse tells us that the Christian needs not to fly on commercial airlines!

No, we will “mount up with wings as eagles”!

A HOME-CENTERED LIFE
.
Now our divine Pattern, the Lord Jesus, did not travel much during His time on Earth.

Oh yes, He did accompany his family to the yearly feasts in Jerusalem.
And during His three-and-one-half-year ministry, He and His disciples did also walk through the countryside, spreading the Good News!
.
But the Christian today doesn’t even need legs to do his or her evangelism!
Either by means of the Internet, or even just through prayer alone, one may send forth the Gospel to every nation under Heaven!
.
And to share one’s finances with some faithful ministries, one can reach faraway places with the Gospel in ways that those early disciples simply could not, by their own physical ability!
But finally, if the Christian is tired of the humdrum routine in his or her present residence, there is a faraway residence one can move to…NOW!
.
That’s right!
.
You see, they can take up residence in a far-away country!
And even those who are totally bound, whether in bed, or in confinement, or by whatever other bondage there may be, can move to a new locale, permanently!

Just listen to God’s Word…
“And [God] hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
Ephesians 2:6.

Incredible! We don’t even have to wait till we die to enjoy the gilded courts of Heaven!
We can have it right now!
This is the ultimate vacation spot!
A supernatural experience!
And you don’t even need to buy a round-trip ticket!
All you need is a one-way ticket!

And once you arrive, you will be so enamored by the beauty and splendor of Heaven, that, just as that old song says… “And the things of this world will grow strangely dim….”

Finally, after repeating this concept a number of times, the Creationist questioned the Evolutionist by saying something to the effect, “Why get excited about finding new discoveries and making the world a better place if you’re just going to die, and lie in your grave forever? Why not just enjoy yourself for the remainder of your life? After all, when you’re finally dead in a few decades, it won’t even matter! Your memory will be forever extinct, and you won’t exist ever again! And after a few more years, those young people will also be dead!”

Well, the Evolutionist ignored this comment, and went on with his debate, repeating his mantra regarding getting excited about new scientific discoveries.
Oh yes, when you’re young and healthy, atheism seems pretty good.

After all, if there’s no God, then I can go out and sin till the proverbial ‘cows come home’, and nobody will care!

Yes, if there’s no God, I can cheat and steal and lie, and it won’t even matter! I can even kill, as long as I don’t get caught! (And as we look at this present society, it is amazing how corrupt and lawless we are becoming! And yet, the leaders of this society are still trying to outlaw the public display of the Ten Commandments!)

But time brings all living things back down to the earth. Yes, the older you get, the more you hurt, the more you suffer, and the more hopeless life gets!

And atheism slowly grows more cruel, the closer you get to your grave!
And what many younger people don’t realize is that the older a person gets to be, the faster time seems to travel!

Yes, when you’re young, death seems a long way off!
.
But by the time a person reaches, perhaps middle age, the days begin to race by. And this phenomenon just keeps accelerating! And death becomes more and more in view.

Yes, a poet might say it this way: “life is like a speeding locomotive, racing down the tracks of time, gradually picking up more steam down the line, till it reaches the station, its final destination right at its appointed time!”
The Bible says it this way…“My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope.” Job 7:6 Yes, if you’ve ever seen a weaver at work, then you can see what God is trying to tell us about the shortness of this little life!

Listen again to Scripture…“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14 .

Our life is merely a little vapor, a mist, which soon vanishes away! Here again, God is trying to get this message to us, not to put our hopes and efforts into this little and short life!
And then, on that dreaded day, when you’re lying on your death-bed, your atheism will stand there and mock you and it will terrify you with dreams and fears about the blackness of eternity!

Listen to Scripture… “(The people of the world), through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” Hebrews 2:15.

So as this verse reveals, the people of the world live in fear of death, no matter how they might pretend otherwise!
Yes, this evolution-apologist was excited about making discoveries to improve the world.

But have all the discoveries already made, ever caused this world to become a better place to live?

Quite the contrary! We see a world which is becoming increasingly fearful. People are getting more and more frightened, as we see the world growing more and more evil, sick, and hopeless!

Listen… “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,” Matthew 24:12, NIV.

This verse paints a very dismal portrait of the future, doesn’t it? The love of all those who spurned the gift of Salvation will wax cold. Even right now, we witness the world’s so-called “love” waxing cold!

When a candle goes out, the wax solidifies.

So too, when the light of Christ is removed from the world, the world will lose whatever little love they might have had!
Even now, the love in this sad world is quickly evaporating!

It seems like the more discoveries we make, the worse this world gets! After all, God hints to us that all attempts to improve this broken world will only be met with failure!

Listen… “That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting [lacking] cannot be numbered [filled].” Ecclesiastes 1:15. The fact is, the Bible here is saying that our efforts to correct the evils of this world are utterly futile! It’s like pulling weeds. Unless you completely remove the root, the weed will soon grow back!

No, society doesn’t want to face the real root cause of why our world is growing more troubled and more evil every day: It is because we are Satan’s prisoners of sin!
For those of us who have lived as atheists, we fully understand that atheists must create for ourselves a type of bubble-like shell, to live in: a sort of fantasy world in which we must hide from the stark reality of the true condition of this world.

Oh yes, we put on our best face and pretend that there is hope, knowing deep down, there really is no hope!

We live in a state of denial about our short existence in this hopeless world! As that old saying goes, we have to see the world through “rose-colored glasses”. That’s how we have to survive in this world as atheists. Reality is just too hard to face!

Or perhaps you could say that we’re like the proverbial ostrich with her head in the sand, hiding our heads from our inevitable doom!
No, the only hope for that enthusiastic atheist debater (and everyone else!), is to turn to the One who bled and died on the Cross of Calvary, for the sins of this world!

Yes, this is Mankind’s only way out of this hopelessly suffering and dying world! That One who suffered the cruel revenge from this planet of rebels, and yet cried out, “Father, forgive them! For they know not what they do!”

And then, we would know just what hope really looks like! Then we would suddenly see that there’s a way out of this crazy hopelessly dying world!

We would then see that there is a pathway, which leads upward into the highways and byways of everlasting joy!
And so this puzzling question which God asked Job (“Can you guide Arcturus with his sons?” Job 38:32.), was never answered. And the Bible seems silent on this question. And so, this question has remained a mystery for thousands of years…until now.

You see, God, according to His “eternal purpose” (not to mention His infinite patience), has kept these things secret through the long millenniums…until just now!

Yes, God is just now beginning to reveal these mysterious signs in the heavens! And now we are discovering that God has written His marvelous love story in the heavens, using the various constellations as picture symbols. And this should be no surprise. After all, God plainly declares in Psalms… “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.” Psalm 19:1.But the heavens also declare God’s righteousness, as is written… “And the heavens shall declare his righteousness…Selah.” Psalm 50:6.
and they hear thy words, but they will not do them:
for with their mouth they shew much love,
but their heart goeth after their covetousness.”

Are you asking yourself the questions,“Why doesn’t my Christianity work? Why can’t I study my Bible more? Why is my prayer-life so anemic?”

Do you sit in church each week and smile, pay tithes, and bless, and sing, and pray, all the while knowing that your Christianity just isn’t working?

Does your pastor constantly reassure his flock, “You’re all on the road to Heaven!” And you try to hang on to that reassurance, only to be overwhelmed with doubts?

Well, you are not alone!

Probably most other churchgoers these days, are wondering the very same thing!
The Bible has the remedy for this condition. And there are perhaps a handful of passages in Scripture which offer the solution to your dilemma.

But this little devotional will only deal with just one of these passages. It is found in Luke.
.
Listen…“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he hath, he cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:33
.
Here is perhaps the greatest reason why the vast majority of churchgoers fail to have a rich and vibrant communion with God. They have never forsaken all.
.
Therefore, they have not even become a disciple of Jesus. That’s right! Unless we have, in heart, forsaken this world, with all its selfish pleasures and ambitious pursuits, then we cannot even attain to the level of being called “a disciple of Jesus”!
This following story is a perfect example of a supposed Believer who really wants to obey God, and yet he knows deep down that his religion just isn’t working correctly.

This rich young ruler wished to become a disciple and follower of Jesus. And though he tried to keep the commandments since childhood, he knew that there was something wrong in his life.
.
His conscience convicted him that he was lacking something…“The young man saith unto Him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?” Matthew 19:20
And Jesus said to this young man…“If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in Heaven: and come and follow Me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Matthew 19:21, 22.
.
No doubt, this rich young ruler had various gifts and pleasures and cares, and aspirations: and these were among the riches he didn’t want to give up for Jesus. He enjoyed this life!
.
This present world was “his oyster”, so to speak. There were simply too many things to give up!
And these are the very same riches that people today are not willing to sacrifice, to follow Jesus.
.
And like that rich young ruler, there are many churchgoers who merely try to keep the Law to the letter.
.
Like the rich young ruler, we think we can fulfill the Law’s demands, and yet still hold on to this life, with all its self-seeking aspirations, pleasures, and amusements!
.
Listen…“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24
.
Yes, as this above verse reveals, Jesus accepts no one who insists on maintaining a divided heart.

“AND THEY FORSOOK ALL & FOLLOWED HIM”
.
Now, in contrast to this rich young ruler, is the account of Jesus calling Peter, John and James and Andrew. When Jesus called those disciples, it is written…
.
“And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him.” Luke 5:11.
.
Yes, those disciples totally forsook the selfish pleasures and proud pursuits of the world, and wholeheartedly followed Jesus.
.
And those disciples were a picture of what God expects from us!
.
And God expects no less from us, than He expected from those faithful disciples!
But just because a follower of Jesus renounces all the vain riches and tinsel-like glitter of this selfish world, does not leave that new Believer a poor man!
.
No, by becoming a true follower of Jesus, the Christian will become one of the wealthiest persons on Earth! A billionaire! No…a trillionaire!!
.
And how is this possible? This is because, as God’s child, He has promised eternal life to all those who persevere in following Him.
.
And of course, everlasting life is worth more than all the riches that this world could possibly give, wouldn’t you agree?
.

LOVE & SYMPATHY UNLIMITED

And furthermore, you will gain a love and a sympathy and an understanding for lost sinners, just as the great love which Jesus has for miserable sinners: miserable sinners such as you and I!

So don’t hesitate! And don’t be afraid to follow Jesus. We have everything to gain, and we’ll have all eternity to enjoy it!

Just think! Everlasting life, filled with the treasures of joy, wisdom, purity, and God’s infinite love!

POWER FROM ABOVE!

So here’s a bold statement! “The life of a Christian, is a supernatural life!”

Well, if one is a stickler for Bible-only terminology, you could rephrase this above statement, by saying… “The Christian life is a life of POWER from above!”
Perhaps that’s a better way of saying it!

But either way you say it, it is nonetheless true!
The Christian’s life is a life which is energized by the miraculous working of God’s Spirit through that true-follower of Jesus!
Now, as far as seeing “through a glass darkly (a mirror)”,the Spirit of God reveals to us the character of Christ, as contrasted by our own faulty character.
.
And also, as we more and more progress up the heavenly pathway, the more and more we see a brighter image of Christ, the Lamb of God, in our mind’s-eye.
Yes, it’s a wonderful thing, during such times of trouble and weakness, that the Believer can revert to his or her childlike nature, and merely cast all cares upon our Heavenly Father!
.
During these hours, one can simply pray, or sing, or just revel in our Heavenly Father’s tender pity and mercy, asking for God’s renewal of wisdom and strength.
But somebody might say, “Well who doesn’t know all these things!?! You’re not saying anything I don’t already know!” Okay, well that may be true!
.
But the fact is, the farther one progresses up that pathway to Heaven, the greater will be the ever-growing brilliance of these things!
.
And as the light grows ever-brighter on that “Highway of Holiness”,the more incredible and joyful will be the experience of allowing Jesus to live out His life of power through that faithful, trusting lamb of God!

And if Bible study was that important way back then, how much more should we be devoting time in this momentous hour in which we now find ourselves!

We are standing on the very threshold of eternity!

And the dark forces of evil are now enclosing around us on every side!
We must also keep in mind, that the wise men of old, after spending countless hours searching the Scriptures.

They searched to find out just exactly what and who those prophecies were pointing to and then traveled through the deserts hundreds of miles to find the Messiah.

All told, those wise men no doubt spent several years on this quest to find the long-awaited Messiah, from the time they first began searching the Scriptures till the time they returned home from their quest to see the Messiah in person!
An easy way to find Arcturus is to follow the arc of the handle of the Big Dipper, in the spring through fall (these are the months in which Arcturus is visible).

The 3rd face of the Moon is a bit more difficult to locate, because it is mostly upside down.

But this photo and this sketch are how this face would appear if it was turned right side up. (In the southern hemisphere, however, this is how the Moon would appear.)

The third face is the most difficult to see northern hemisphere, but once you do, it then becomes easy.
.
This face is like a furry creature of the field.
.
Maybe a rabbit. Maybe a squirrel. Perhaps a chipmunk.
.
Probably a mouse.
.
All “seekers”; all foragers or scavengers.
.
And while this picture shows this little “beast of the field” right side up, this 3rd face is always pretty much in an upside-down position.

The other two faces appear right-side-up, and are easier to locate.
