A popular saying over the past few decades has been to say this, “this or that person is ‘clueless’!”, indicating that they do not understand the situation.

.

Or perhaps that they do not understand much of anything!

.

This picture is of a certain character in Bunyan’s, “Pilgrim’s Progress,” named “Ignorance”.

.

Here was a very clueless character who thought he had Salvation, when in truth, he was far away from Salvation!

.

A SPEWED-OUT CHURCH?

.

Now, “Clueless” is a rather derogatory name to tag on someone, and probably should not be used by Christians in everyday life (unless we are referring to our own self).

.

But since this devotional attempts to relate earthly things to heavenly truths, it seems appropriate to highlight a statement made by Jesus to the Church at Laodicea.

.

Listen…“So then because thou art lukewarm,

and neither cold nor hot,

I will spue thee out of My mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,

and have need of nothing;

AND KNOWEST NOT that thou art wretched,

and miserable,

and poor,

and blind,

and naked:”

Revelation 3:16, 17

Here we have a Church which believes it is in good standing with God, when in fact, the Lord is about to vomit it out of His mouth!

.

Now how much more clueless can a church be!?

CLUELESS LAODICEANS US!

But is the current-day church really to be considered, Laodicea?

.

Well, if you would ask most Christian churches, they might tell you that “No, we are the Philadelphian Church!”

.

Oh. The Philadelphian Church.

.

Well, the Philadelphian Church was one of two churches of the seven which God highly praised (the second church was the Church of Smyrna.)

.

He had no condemning words for those two faithful churches.

.

Everything was good! All was right! They were the faithful ones!

.

“BUT I’M NOT A LAODICEAN!”

.

Now, the more conservative churches will scoff at those obviously apostate, “liberal churches” over there, saying, “Indeed, they are the Laodicean Church!”

And truth-be-told, when compared with the liberal churches, the conservative churches actually look pretty good!

.

And yet, when compared with the Bible, even the so-called conservative churches more appropriately fit the description of lukewarm Laodicea.

OPULENCE & HEDONISM

.

One of the great sins of today’s church-world is that most of us have been deceived by the world (and by world-loving churchgoers)…

.

…deceived into believing that we Christians can pursue the same opulence and hedonism which this cornucopian society pursues, and still have Christ.

.

Yes, to a large extent, we live in a pleasure-driven, prosperity-minded super-society.

.

And because of the great wealth and state-of-the-art manufacturing of these industrialized/high-tech nations, just about any earthly dream is now attainable!

.

Yes, through the “entrepreneurial spirit”, combined with hard work, one ambitious soul can amass more than heart could wish in just a few years!

.

And for the unsaved world, this may be OK (or not!)

.

But this is definitely not the commission which God has given to His “called-out and separated” people.

.

BE CONTENT WITH SIMPLICITY

.

No, a life of enthusiastically pursuing worldly cares and pleasures was not and is not the commission which God has given to His people.

.

Just the opposite! Listen to Paul’s exhortation…

…”And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare,

and into many foolish and hurtful lusts,

which drown men in destruction and perdition”

1st Timothy 6:8, 9

.

Yes, today’s opulent church-world has fallen into “many foolish and hurtful lusts” which has greatly drowned us in, “destruction and perdition”!

.

But rather, Paul is exhorting us to “be content with food and raiment”!

.

This description shows the great disparity in today’s church-world in the western nations, between “What is” and “What should be”!

.

“MANY FOOLISH & HURTFUL LUSTS”

.

Now, do we even need to ask, “Just what kind of ‘foolish and hurtful lusts’ is Paul speaking of?”

.

Well, the short list might be such things as daily indulgence of television, secular radio and secular Internet…

.

…Or it might be excessive social events, pleasure-parties, clubs and organizations…

.

…Or perhaps it may be lavishing our lives with extravagantly adorned homes and grounds and needlessly costly vehicles and plush pleasure-resorts and excessive amusements, various sports, gratuitous shopping…

.

…and all the other various costly and time-consuming pursuits which this opulent and hedonistic culture affords today.

.

In other words, the Christian community (both liberal and conservative), is enthusiastically going after the same opulence and hedonism which led to the decline and eventual destruction of Sodom and its surrounding cities!

.

.

.

LIFE IS COMPLICATED

.

Now, God is not making a hard-and-fast rule about all these indulgences.

.

He understands how complicated life can be in this Babylonian world.

.

And He fully understands that work commitments and family obligations can complicate the choices we must make each day.

.

Nevertheless, the constant desire of the Christian should be to separate ourselves from everything which causes us to put our Salvation on the proverbial “back-burner”.

 .

And so, the Christian is constantly praying for a separation from any and every other thing that desires to interfere with our continuous communion with God, and a night & day contemplation of His wonderful Word!

CHRIST’S SIMPLICITY OBSCURED

Yes, our commission is to let the light of Jesus shine out to this hopeless world, lost in spiritual darkness!

But how can that light shine out when it is so greatly obscured by all the Mammon which we have so heavily ladened ourselves with?

.

Jesus, in all His simple beauty cannot be rightly seen when extravagantly adorned with so much of this world’s opulence and pleasure-seeking.

.

GOD’S PEOPLE TO BE CLEANSED

Well, the Good News is, that we have now arrived at the day in which it is written…

…”In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver,

and his idols of gold,

which they made each one for himself to worship,

to the moles and to the bats;

To go into the clefts of the ragged rocks,

for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty,

when He arises to shake terribly the earth.”

Isaiah 2:20, 21

Yes, this is the day that the Lord has appointed for His chosen people to finally cast off our world-loving ways, and flee to Christ in all His heavenly simplicity and goodness!

The time for all dilly-dallying in the world must come to an end!

But one thing most people can agree on, when seeing all the evil in the world is that, “Indeed, the Devil is a very hard worker!”

A WORLD SINKING IN SIN AND SELFISHNESS

*Just look at all the senseless murders!

*Behold all the violence!

*All the swindling!

*All the needless censorship!

*All the government corruption!

*All the drug and alcohol abuse and misery!

*All the lawsuits! The wars! The sicknesses! The suffering! The broken hearts!

It’s a really horrible existence for a huge portion of the world’s populace, who intensely suffer in diverse ways, at various times, isn’t it?

“NO GOOD THING IN…MY FLESH!”

Romans 7:18

No doubt about it! It’s Satan’s world of selfishness, violence, and death!

Just listen to 1st John 5:19…“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”

Here above, the Lord makes a distinction between those who truly serve God and the unbelieving world.

And He testifies that THE ENTIRE world lies in wickedness!

MANY HARD WORKERS

But how can this be!? After all, just look at all the hard-working people, “busting their chops each day”, trying to support their family!

How can THAT be evil?

Well, listen again to today’s signature verses…

…”An high look, and a proud heart,

Well, perhaps this above verse is merely speaking of the really bad people of the world.

Yes, maybe it’s just talking about those thieves and murders, and druggies, and perverts out there in the dark back-alleys of the world.

But remember what 1st John 5:19 says, “And we know that we are of God, and the WHOLE world lieth in wickedness.”

Yes, this above verse defines just who it is that God considers wicked!

All we who still have wickedness in our hearts!

What we must remember is this: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Here is why it is so difficult to realize our own innate wickedness.

We cannot see just how wicked our heart really is!

Now, these above two verses are not just speaking only of physical hunger, but of every form of human appetite.

In other words, many hard-working people get just as much satisfaction, or even more pleasure from exulting over, “What a hard worker I am!”.

Yes, pride is a great motivator! We love to receive the praise from the world!

SATAN IS WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK

Think about it! To have a good-paying job, an enviable home in a desirable neighborhood, nice-looking vehicles, a well-dressed family, etc., causes many people to work hard throughout their lives for such status symbols.

And those who will honestly assess themselves must sheepishly admit this truth.

TELEVISION: THE TALKING IMAGE

Just look at television, for instance.

Why do you think that so much of television programming is concerned with the outward tokens of pride?

*A shiny new car!

*A swanky vacation resort!

*A glamorous home!

*Nice clothes!

*Nice family!

*Desirable neighborhood!

*The buffest body!

*The latest, most expensive name-brand phone, or shoes, or shirt!

*Owning your own business!

*Enviable careers, high-paying jobs, fame, fortune…

…being “the toughest dude on the block”…

…or the cleverest wit…

…or smartest guy in the room…

…or the most gorgeous gal or the handsomest guy…

…the greatest personality, or musician, or artist, or scientist, innovator, sportsman, sports-star, rock-star, dance-star, movie-star, homemaker, humanitarian, moralistic-respectability, holiest-religiosity…

…or whatever other status-symbol/badge-of-honor one might name!

.

Yes, it’s a proud and self-seeking world!

.

And most all we do is for our own self-satisfaction!

This is what makes us happy!

One of the great lies of Satan, is that the life of the Christian is a heavy burden!

Or that the life of the Christian is austere and bleak!

But Jesus said…

“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart:

and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 

For My yoke is easy,

and My burden is light.”

Now, either Jesus is lying in this above passage, or the Devil is lying, saying Christ’s yoke is heavy.

Yes, the Christian life can be lived, and victory gained, even by those who are physically weak, bed-fast, or incarcerated!

And yet, those who lack physical energy or are bed-fast or incarcerated in some way, may use their down-time to their spiritual advantage!

AN EASY YOKE & LIGHT BURDEN

This is the easy yoke which God places on His followers. Just get to know God, and His precious promises!

That’s all!

Oh yes, there will be many opportunities to witness to others, either by Word or by deed.

But the main thing is to fill up the heart with God’s “exceeding great and precious promises”, shunning the ungodly and worldly influences we once loved! (2nd Peter 1:4)

Well, God has designed this world for various purposes.

And one of those purposes is to give living object lessons which teach us higher truths.

The beautiful butterfly and its complete transformation from a lowly worm, is symbolic of Christians who have become “born again”.

Conversely, the spider is an object lesson to illustrate the captivating power of sin and Satan!

THE GREAT 2020 PARADIGM SHIFT

Well, that horrendous year just might have an eerie resemblance to that movie, “The Matrix”, at least as far as us being trapped in an alternate reality, which 2020 seemed to become.

People around the world are confounded and perplexed about that crazy year of 2020.

.

Why all the pandemic madness of shutting down the world economy over an unknown virus? 

.

And why did the great percentage of inhabitants of this rebellious world seemingly bow down in tacit submission to the oppressive government authorities? 

.

Yes, why did the rebellious nations all merely capitulate to this policy of trying to “stop the world from turning” (as one commentator put it)?

.

Just look at the millions of businesses that went under as a result of all the authoritarian tyranny (and millions of businesses are still financially reeling from those lockdowns)!

.

Well, this world has always been a dishonest world…“yea, let God be true, but every man a liar” Romans 3:4

Nevertheless, the year of 2020 became an incredible year in which almost the entire world openly exposed mankind’s deceit, hypocrisy, cheating and abject lies.

For example, when masks became readily available, the same authorities who first claimed they were useless now said, “Masks are an absolute existential necessity for the human race!”

And then we were all commanded to social distance, avoiding being in crowds.

.

But when rioters and protesters began to move in mobs, these same leaders then said, “Well, these ‘peaceful protesters’ are doing a public service.” 

.

But when those of an opposing political party began protesting, this was somehow “unacceptable!”

VAX, VAX, VAX!!!

^“Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?” Psalm 94:20

This above verse from Psalm 94 reveals how Satan uses man’s laws to oppress and ensnare humans in his deadly game!

For example, the authorities became so fixated on vaccines, dismissing other therapeutic medicines which had proven safer, and maybe even more effective in treating the sick.

So why did they do this? Why weren’t they willing to try anything which appeared to give hope for the infirm!?

The god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of men…

2nd Corinthians 4:4

Well, to make a long story short, the “god of this world”, Lucifer (now given the titles, “The Devil”, and “Satan”), is preparing this world for Judgment Day.

.

Oh yes, the true rulers of this world, the unseen spiritual authorities have been preparing this world for a very long time for the end-time showdown known as Armageddon…

.

…that dreaded day in which each man, woman, and child must choose either this world, or the everlasting world to come!

.

But the day has come for Armageddon, “The Valley of Decision”, to appear (see Joel 3:14).

” (The unsaved) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

And perhaps, it’s also the hour in which Satan takes off his phony, “form of godliness” mask which he’s been wearing for the last several centuries!

Yes, Satan has been deceiving the world’s populace into the lie, the lie that, “there’s much goodness in this otherwise bad world”, when just the opposite is true.

.

And truth-be-told, Satan, most likely, was the true designer of the virus, working through willing human instruments.

MARK NOW GIVEN

But the true reality is, that Satan must prepare the world to receive the Mark of the Beast.

And so, the world must be ready to shut off the ability to buy and sell (whether financially or spiritually, or both).

And the year 2020 was perhaps, “The Matrix” for this new reality…

.

…a soon-coming totalitarian world of Satan’s making, as he works through the unsaved rulers and even through the unsaved citizens of this world!

.

But there are many others who are scratching their heads in amazement that such a vast throng are so willing to bring in this new dystopian world-order.

During the late 1930’s, came a charming rascal named Douglas Corrigan, who loved aviation, preparing his plane to make a trans-Atlantic crossing.

And he flew that plane from Long Beach California to New York, but was then refused permission to make that trans-Atlantic flight to Ireland, his ancestral heritage.

Well, this gifted mechanic and aviator “accidentally got mixed up” during his flight back to Long Beach, “miraculously” ending up in, of all places, Ireland, the very place he desired to go!

So just how does this little story connect with the Gospel of our Salvation?

ISAIAH SPEAKS OF “FALLING BACKWARD”

Well, the Bible makes a number of mentions of going “Backward”.

.

Yes, just listen to God’s dismal assessment of His people in Isaiah 28:13…

…”But the Word of the LORD was unto them (His apostate people)

precept upon precept, precept upon precept;

line upon line, line upon line;

here a little, and there a little;

THAT THEY MIGHT GO, AND FALL BACKWARD,

and be broken, and snared, and taken.”

.

Here is revealed God’s disappointment with His people, who didn’t want to go forward with their Salvation!

.

They wanted to go backward, back into the world.

FALLING BACKWARD REPEATEDLY MENTIONED

Yes, this biblical concept of falling backward is repeated a number of times in Scripture.

.

From the priest, Eli, who fell backward and broke his neck…

.

…to the band of pursuers who followed Judas to the Garden of Gethsemane to take Jesus…“As soon then as He (Jesus) had said unto them, I am He, they went backward, and fell to the ground.” John 18:6

.

Yes, each time the phrase “fall backward”, or “went backward” is used, it is in connection with God’s wrath and judgment.

SLAIN IN THE SPIRIT

.

Well, there happens to be a certain sign & wonder, known as being, “slain in the Spirit”, in which some evangelist touches the forehead of a certain churchgoer, causing that person to fall backward to the ground.

.

Well, of course, this so-called miracle from Heaven is reminiscent of the Bible’s accounts of those aforementioned cursed persons falling backward (Eli, the priest, etc…).

FALLING BACKWARDS A SIGN OF CONDEMNATION

.

And even though the advocates of this phenomenon see this sign & wonder as a great miracle and blessing of God, the fact is, it really aligns more closely with God’s judgment on that person!

.

Because, never in the Bible does falling backward have to do with being blessed. Just the opposite!

.

In the Bible, falling backward was always connected with a curse from God!

.

It therefore is a sign of apostasy.

.

It warns us that those who perform this sign are false teachers, misleading us back into the world, even as is written…“O My people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.” Isaiah 3:12

.

Yes, our pathway to Heaven has been obliterated by so many of the top Bible teachers of our day, via wrong doctrines, prosperity-driven sermons, and worldly compromises, both in church and in the home.

Listen to the call which just now going out to God’s people...

…”Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen…

And I heard another voice from heaven,

saying, ‘Come out of her, My people,

that ye be not partakers of her sins,

and that ye receive not of her plagues.'”

Yes, it is now time for God’s people to come out from among them, and be separate.

There is a great end-time exodus now occurring!

It is time to exodus the world-loving ways of today’s church-world, and hide ourselves, even as is written…

…”Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers,

and shut thy doors about thee:

hide thyself as it were for a little moment,

until the indignation be overpast.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of His place

to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity”

Isaiah 26:20

The trying time before us requires God’s people to hide themselves during this soon-coming hour of Judgment, which is even now beginning.

There is no more time to dilly-dally in the world!

Now, just a word of caution. These truths from Heaven are given “for me and me alone!” We are not to look at others with a judgmental eye.

And anyway, we just don’t know how God is working in the heart and life of another individual, nor do we know the true motives of any other individual!

.

So, we are to simply look into our own mirror and realize that, “Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners. of who I AM CHIEF!” 1st Timothy 1:15

Yes, my own heart is filled with enough evil to keep me busy for a lifetime, trying to purify it from my own innate wickedness!

A new constellation has been revealed, as of about May 29th, 2014.

This constellation appears as a serpent (snake). Its body is comprised of stars from the Bootes Constellation, and its jaws are made of the four stars which Babylonians saw as the head of Draco, the Dragon.

It also has a small single star for an eye.

.

.

Now in this constellation is a group of five stars, which will be called “The ‘Five Foolish Virgins’ Stars”.

.

These are located on the opposite side of the Glorious Crown of 12 Stars (AKA Corona Borealis), from the ‘Five Wise Virgins’ Stars.

.

But one big difference between the two is, that The Five Wise are curved around the Glorious Crown, while the Five Foolish are curved away from it!

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILD?

Today’s devotional will further explore this great and terrible spiritual malady and the Bible’s correct diagnosis: devil harassment and devil possession.

And today’s question is, “What can I do as a parent, for my child who is suffering from so-called “mental illness” of one type or another?

How in the world am I to deal with this terrible situation?”

SPIRITUAL, NOT PHYSICAL!

Well, the really Good News is, that mental illness is merely a fabrication of Satan, who is “the god of this world!” 2nd Corinthians 4:4

And so, this condition is a spiritual malady, and not physical!

This is great news because it means that the child is capable of complete deliverance from this spiritual malady!

Now does it require calling a so-called “Exorcist” to drive out evil spirits?

.

Absolutely not! All that is merely, “religious quackery”!

Rather, let’s turn to God’s Word, the Bible for the true remedy.

CHILD WHO WAS POSSESSED AT TIMES

.

When Jesus and His three disciples, Peter, James, and John came down from the Mount of Transfiguration, He encountered a man whose child was suffering from something similar to epilepsy, or perhaps something similar to autism.

Jesus immediately cast out the evil spirit from the boy, after hearing the father’s tearful plea. (see Mark 9:17-29)

But then, when His disciples inquired as to why they could not cast out that evil spirit from the child, Jesus explained…“And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29

Now here we have a great revelation from the lips of Jesus our Savior! “This kind can come forth by nothing but prayer and fasting!”

PRAYER AND FASTING BY PARENTS

.

No, but this remedy is primarily for the parents of a demon-harassed child! They are to fast and pray for their child’s deliverance!

.

But will going without food somehow conjure up God’s sympathy for such troubled and tormented children?

.

Of course not! God is very willing to help such children who are being harassed by Satan’s host of evil angels, just as was demonstrated by Jesus in that true account!

THE TRUE FAST

But the fast which God has chosen is found in Isaiah, Chapter 58…

…”Is not this the fast that I have chosen?

to loose the bands of wickedness,

to undo the heavy burdens,

and to let the oppressed go free,

Here is the true fast which produces results with God!

And what this above passage is saying concisely is, that God wants His professed people to really get serious about Salvation.

Many people mistakenly believe that if they only go tearfully without a meal or two, they can somehow elicit the help of God, just prior to returning to their world-loving ways.

But Isaiah 58 directly condemns all such notions!

No, what God is saying in Isaiah 58, is that He wants His people to love and serve Him with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind!

But NOT to live the rest of my week enjoying the selfish cares and pleasures of this world, all to the bankruptcy of my soul!

GOD TRIES TO GET OUR ATTENTION!

And so, God, in His infinite love, finally allows one thing or another to get the full attention of that world-loving Christian.

OBEY IN ALL THINGS LAWFUL

Now, as yesterday’s devotional (click here) stressed, the parent is not to discard the child’s “medication”.

.

No, in this case, the old saying is very applicable here, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do!”

.

Satan would love nothing more than to get the authorities to come down on Christian parents for their supposed neglect of their child’s health!

.

Remember, we are still captives in this Babylonian world! We must obey the authorities in everything lawful! And there is nothing biblically unlawful with someone taking medication, even if it will not truly cure!

.

Satan is always looking for some way to accuse Christians before the onlooking public! And we must not give him any needless reason to do so.

And as Christian parents continue to purify their own selves from the pollutions and false doctrines of the world (and the world-loving church), they may finally see their children no longer harassed by Satan.

And when the child is fully grown, that grown child can then make the decision on his or her own, whether or not to discard that medicine!

But God is not concerned about the question of “medication” nearly as much as He is desiring the parents to fully consecrate their own lives to Christ, and to purify their hearts from every defiling influence which emanates from this unbelieving world!

And so, without going into a lengthy discussion, let’s just say that of all the 7 heads of Antichrist, the head which most closely aligns with atheism would logically be the 6th head.

And why the 6th head?

The Book of Revelation, Chapter 13 warns that the Antichrist Beast has a number of 666.

And it describes this number as being the “number of a man”.

.

The number “6” in Scripture has to do with “Man”.

.

It is a number which reminds of the 6th Day of Creation; the day that Man was created.

.

Man was created on the 6th day. And so, Mankind is very much connected with the number “6”

.

And since atheism is the religion which holds Mankind as the supreme ruler of Earth, then the number “6”, being the number of Man, seems to correspond to the 6th head of Antichrist, very well.

And so, this 6th star in the Revelation 12 Dragon’s wave of water, would correspond to the 6th head of the Antichrist Beast.

And as already said, “waves” in Scripture, represent the many false ideologies which Satan has flooded the world with, throughout time.

ATHEISM: A BIG LIE IN A WORLD OF COUNTLESS LIES

We live in a world filled with countless lies and deceptions.

And one of Satan’s greatest last-days deceptions has been this ideology known as “Atheism” (the 6th head of the Antichrist Beast of Revelation 13).

Yes, in spite of nature’s many witnesses to God’s creative power and majesty, Satan has wondrously deceived the world…

…deceived us into believing that all this beauty, wisdom, love, poetry, majesty, and law & order found throughout nature has been the result of some accidental cosmic explosion.

In other words, out of mere chaos came beauty, wisdom, love, poetry, majesty, and law & order!

But of course, Satan does not rest satisfied with this one great deception.

Another deception being thrust upon Mankind is the false science known as “Psychiatry”.

One great problem is, the average person assumes that, because there are actual physical brain deformities (dementia, retardation, etc.) that so-called “mental illness” is lumped together with these actual physical impairments.

This lack of understanding by the general populace gives great impetus to these “questions of science, falsely so-called” 1st Timothy 6:20

DEMONIC ACTIVITY IN SCRIPTURE

From the account of King Saul’s so-called “bi-polar” episodes…

And as somebody once, so aptly said, ‘Satan’s greatest feat was to convince the world that he doesn’t really exist!’

And in Satan’s on-going strategy of seemingly erasing himself out of existence…

…so also, this false science of psychiatry only further diminishes mankind’s belief in what the Bible reveals concerning Satan and his vast army of evil-angels…

…fallen angels which orchestrate, so incredibly well, this sin-cursed world.

SOULS HELD IN BONDAGE

And also, those who are suffering from these so-called mental illnesses continue to be held in bondage, thinking they cannot overcome their seemingly hopeless condition.

Oh yes, by faithfully taking a certain pill, they may find some degree of relief from their “malady”.

.

But in reality, it is only because Satan backs off from his mental oppression that these suffering souls return to some degree of sanity.

.

Thus, the pills get the credit for “helping the demon-harassed person”, when in truth, it was only because the evil angel backed off for a time.

CHEMICAL IMBALANCE? NOT SO MUCH!

In the previous century, psychiatrists came up with a seemingly good explanation, claiming that so-called “mentally ill” persons were suffering from a “chemical imbalance”

.

And even today, the more honest psychiatrists will admit (still sheepishly) that this hypothesis concerning “chemical imbalances” was nothing more than mere guesswork by the medical community!

.

In other words, they have NOT the slightest clue as to why some people have so-called, “mental illness”!

Now is there any hope for such persons?

Oh yes! God promises total deliverance to these captives of Satan!

THE SPIRIT OF FEAR

Listen to Paul in 2nd Timothy 1:7…“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Here we see that fear is a spirit: Satan’s Antichrist spirit, which indwells the lost souls in the world!

And much of so-called mental illness is based upon fear in one form or another.

“POWER, LOVE, AND A SOUND MIND” ALSO A SPIRIT

But this above verse from 2nd Timothy 1:7 also reveals that “power, love, and a sound mind”, are likewise a spirit: the Holy Spirit!

So just how can a person get rid of that foul spirit, and instead be filled with the Spirit of “power, love, and a sound mind”?

PERFECT PEACE!

Well, the prophet, Isaiah, makes the most wonderful revelation…“Thou (God) wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee!” Isaiah 26:3

Here we have the remedy for so-called mental illness: to keep one’s mind continually focused on Jesus!

.

Just think of it! Perfect peace!

But how in the world do we keep our mind stayed on Jesus?

By constant prayer? Oh yes!

.

But let’s say just one more thing about this concept of keeping our minds “stayed upon Jesus”…

DON’T DISCARD “MEDICINE”

Now, one word of caution!

.

Satan would love nothing more than to cause some newer Christian with a history of so-called, mental illness, to throw away their “medication”, so that he can return and thrust them back into some insane episode!

And by so-doing, Christianity gets the proverbial “black-eye”.

KEEP GROWING!

But the fact is, the Christian can continue to live a complete and rewarding life in Christ, regardless that he or she continues on their “medication”.

Just keep growing in Christ’s Word!

And this is truly a Gift of God’s Grace!
