Laws concerning gravity.

Laws concerning food.

Laws concerning music…and motion…and mechanics.

.

Laws concerning all creatures, great and small.

.

From the tiniest amoeba, to the great whales of the oceans.

Laws about the Earth, and fire and air…and laws about water.

Laws about health and laws about UN-health.

.

Everywhere and everything operates by laws…an infinite number!

Laws which require obedience, and laws which impose penalties for DIS-obedience.

MUST BE A LAWGIVER

Now at this point, the question that must be asked is this:

“Where did all these laws come from, by which the Universe operates?

.

Did these laws just come out of nowhere?

.

Or can we conclude that all these laws were given by some supreme and divine Law-Giver?” 

.

And the same God who wrote the laws of nature has also written the moral laws for Mankind to follow.

.

And that Book is what we call “the Bible”: that Divine Law-book given to Mankind, by that Divine Law-Giver…God.

And even the atheist can see and appreciate, that nature’s teachers instruct wise lessons about life…

“But ask now the beasts…

and the fowls of the air,

and the fishes of the sea…

and they shall teach thee…

Or speak to the Earth, and it shall teach thee:

Who knoweth not in all these

that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?”

NATURE’S DAILY DRAMA

But what many do not realize is, that everything in nature is daily beckoning the world’s inhabitants to return back to God.

.

As we walk down the street, all nature is like a grand stage, with actors acting out its daily drama of instruction…all around!

.

And for those who are fortunate enough to live on a farm, those roosters crowing are just God’s “heralds of the morning”, enthusiastically announcing a joyful new day.

.

NATURE’S DAILY UNFOLDING DRAMA

To feel the caresses of the warm arms of the Sun, one can understand just a little of God’s warm love for lost humanity.

The squirrel, gathering its daily store, reminds men to search the Scriptures daily & to hide His Word in our hearts.

.

All have been created for Man’s enjoyment, but also Man’s betterment: Man’s Salvation.

.

CROWNING MOMENTS OF THE DAY

Just look at this picture!

On many sunny days, there is an utterly beautiful moment once just after dawn, and once again just before the sunset.

It is what photographers call the Golden Moments of the Day.

Just look at this bicyclist on “King Street”!

.

This bicyclist must be reveling in the warm golden beauty of this crowning moment! 

.

It’s almost as if God is reminding Man of that Golden Moment in which a man, or a woman, or even a child might turn once again to Man’s Creator and Redeemer God.

.

And such a crowning moment should not be wasted!

THESE ALL TESTIFY OF OUR CREATOR!

Yes, the Gospel of Christ’s goodness, love, and Salvation is being preached all around us, every moment of every day!

And throughout nature, its witnesses all stand up and speak so eloquently in defense of nature’s God!

And any doubter or skeptic might could eventually come to the same conclusion: there has to be a Creator, who is filled with these same wonderful qualities!

HEAVENLY OBJECT LESSON

.

“Then the moon shall be confounded,

and the sun ashamed,

when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion,

and in Jerusalem,

and before his ancients gloriously.”

Isaiah 24:23

When God created the Moon and the stars, He ordained them to “rule the night” (Genesis 1:16).

.

The Moon, especially when it is full, can light your pathway through the night, as it reflects the light of the Sun.

.

So too, the Christian is to be a light to the world: to this sin-darkened world.

.

But as the Moon must reflect the light of the Sun, in order to be a light to the world, so also must the Christian reflect the light of Jesus, to be a spiritual light to this planet in rebellion.

.

However, during an eclipse, the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, preventing that sunlight from shining on the Moon’s face.

.

Like the eclipse, that person no longer reflects the light of Jesus, because his or her love of this dark world of sin has eclipsed the light from the “Sun of Righteousness” (see Malachi 4:2).

.

The True Message of Revelation!

.

.

.

.

2,000 Years ago, Jesus gave to the apostle, John, an incredible revelation, while John was held captive on the island-prison called Patmos.

.

And the name which God gave this message is The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

.

And indeed, it is a grand and glorious revelation of Jesus Christ, and how He works with His people!

.

Yes, Revelation presents allegorical pictures of how we must follow and serve Jesus, and how we must overcome this self-serving world. 

.

So, let’s look at a few notable verses out of Revelation, which may give us the key to understanding that marvelous message.

.

7 CHURCHES: US!

.

Now in the Book of Revelation is found the 7 Heaven-sent messages to the 7 churches of Asia. 

.

And in those messages are found two common threads, which occur in each message…

.

…In each letter, is found the following two messages…

…1. “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

.

2. To him that overcometh…” Revelation 2 & 3

.

These two proclamations are found in each of those 7 letters.

.

“HE (or she) THAT HAS AN EAR TO HEAR”

.

Now the first, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”, is a phrase which is found elsewhere in Scripture…

.

Listen…“Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house,

which have eyes to see, and see not;

they have ears to hear, and hear not:

for they are a rebellious house.”

Ezekiel 12:2.

.

Thus, Ezekiel here, is telling God’s people who, because of their rebelliousness, that they no longer can hear God’s Word. 

.

So, upon reading the messages to the 7 Churches in Revelation, it now becomes apparent that many in the churches do not have spiritual ears to really hear and truly take to heart what God’s Word is trying to tell us!

.

But as with so much of the Bible, Revelation is written in veiled, allegorical language, thus requiring spiritual ears to hear that spiritual, allegorical message.

SPIRITUAL EARS REQUIRED TO UNDERSTAND ALLEGORIES

.

For instance, many will read of Jezebel in Revelation Ch. 2:20 , in the message to Thyatira, but do not discern that it is speaking of the apostate portion of the Church.

.

Listen to Paul, as he speaks of another woman, Agar, who was thrust into an adulterous affair…

…”For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia,

and answereth to Jerusalem which now is…”

Galatians 4:25.

Here, God is comparing this Egyptian adulteress, Hagar, to the apostate portion of God’s Church.

.

And by comparing spiritual things with spiritual, it is soon discovered that whenever the Bible refers to the “adulterous woman”, it is really speaking of God’s apostate people.

.

Well, this is just one example of the many allegories found in Revelation, which requires spiritual ears to hear what God is wanting us to hear.

.

“TO HIM THAT OVERCOMES”

.

Now the second reoccurring phrase, “To him that overcometh…”, is found 7 times in these messages.

.

And this message also requires “an ear to hear”.

.

This is because, the vast majority of those who read Revelation do not realize that this entire wonderful Book is actually a message about overcoming this world of sin and the Devil in charge.

.

Now these 7 messages to the 7 churches of Asia, set the tone for the entire Book of Revelation.

.

It’s all about overcoming. And it’s all about truly hearing what God is trying to tell us!

.

NEWSPAPERS & HISTORY BOOKS

But the problem is that, instead of studying the Bible, in hopes of unlocking the allegories…

.

…many simply study history books, or newspapers in hopes of deciphering the hidden messages found in Revelation.

.

But as with the rest of Scripture, Paul said concerning Revelation…

…”All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:”

2nd Timothy 3:16.

.

Yes, the verses of all 22 chapters reveal Jesus and His Gospel, and how it applies to the individual Christian.

.

GREAT COMMISSION: OVERCOMING THE WORLD!

.

But if one will simply compare Scripture with Scripture, making this his or her lifework, then that Bible student will immediately begin to unlock the true meaning of Revelation.

.

And all who do this, humbly and prayerfully, may find that the Book of Revelation is really a “Revelation of Jesus”, and how He works in yours and in my life!

.

And this is why God ends the Book of Revelation by saying (among other things)…

 …“He that overcometh shall inherit all things;

and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.”

Revelation 21:7

.

Yes, this is the true great purpose of Revelation: to overcome the world, being transformed into the image of Christ!

.

And if you are one of the fortunate ones, who still has an ear to hear these spiritual allegories, you can begin to unlock the true spiritual message of Revelation, in your quest to overcome this world-of-sin, and reach the everlasting Promised Land.

.

This is the greatest commission given to every true worshipper of God!

“ARCTURUS AND HIS SONS”

.

So what does this verse, “there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel”, have to do with us today?

.

After all, this prophecy of Balaam (left) was fulfilled in the coming of the long-awaited Messiah, Jesus Christ!

.

Well, if a person will go out at night, starting in January, and continuing through the warmer months, they might locate the star, Arcturus.

.

This star was spoken of in Job…

…”Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?

or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?”

Job 38:32.

This star is the host star for this Signs Of Heaven website.

.

And the star, Arcturus, also seems to fulfill the previous verse as well…

“…there shall come a Star out of Jacob,

and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel…“

Numbers 24:17.

.

As earlier stated, this passage seems to find a double fulfillment, not only concerning Jesus, but also, as we look into the heavens.

.

This star just happens to lead an entourage of constellations, which span the spring, summer, fall and winter skies, telling the beautiful, wonderful Gospel story.

.

This is the only known place in all the Earth and heavens in which God has created a pictorial account of the Gospel.

.

And no, this has nothing to do with the Zodiac.

.

But this revelation showcases the biggest and brightest constellations in the heavens, revealing an entirely different interpretation of those constellations from that of the ancient Babylonian and other pagan culture interpretations.

How To Love Your Enemies

PAUL’S SPIRITUAL GROWTH

.

If one reads the book of Acts carefully, it will be discovered that the Apostle, Paul, was on a “learning curve”, as they say.

.

That is, Paul made some dreadful mistakes along the way.

.

For instance, in Acts, Chapter 23, when slapped, Paul in a heat of the moment cried out… “God shall smite thee, thou whited wall” Acts 23:3.

.

Now of course, Paul should never have cursed any man, but instead, should have left such things in the hands of God.

.

But that wasn’t all! For just a little while later, he made a very controversial statement, knowing that it would spark a heated debate between the two factions, Pharisees and Sadducees.

.

And it did.

.

PAUL REACTED IN LOVE & RESPECT

.

But it is evident that Paul had finally learned his lesson.

.

Because, later, when standing before King Agrippa and Governor Festus, in Acts, Ch. 26.

.

You see, right in the middle of Paul’s defense of himself, Festus cried out, probably in a mocking manner… “Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad!” Acts 26:24

.

Now at this point, Paul could have easily responded in anger at Festus’ insult.

.

But he didn’t! Instead, Paul said very gracious words in return to Festus.

.

And as a result of Paul’s soft and respectful answer, the king Agrippa, who was listening to this exchange, said to Paul… “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian!” Acts 26:28.

.

You see, if Paul had lost his temper, the king would never have been persuaded (almost). But Paul had passed his test!

.

And God had now prepared Paul for his ultimate evangelistic encounter…Caesar, the Emperor of Rome, whom he was going to testify before, in the near future.

.

LIFE THRU THE LOVING EYES OF JESUS

.

And this little account of Paul’s spiritual growth is a wonderful lesson for us today!

.

In a day when it is so easy to judge or speak critical words, we must remember that we have been chosen to be “ambassadors for Christ”, (2nd Corinthians 5:20.)

.

And as such, we have a solemn duty to treat each and every person, be it spouse, or children, or neighbors, or strangers, or even politicians with the utmost tender respect, as possible candidates for Heaven. 

.

But more than this, we need to see all of humanity through the loving eyes of Jesus.

.

Yes, even our enemies! God created them, and until we walk in their shoes, we need to keep from judging them.

.

TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS

.

It is amazing what a little love and a little respect can do, to patch up a broken relationship.

.

And to give a gift in secret to one who has been offended will go a long way in mending a wounded soul!

.

Remember our key Bible passage…

“Love your enemies,

do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you,

and pray for them which despitefully use you.”

Yes, here is the formula for winning souls to Christ.

.

So, should a cashier speak rudely to me, I must try Paul’s tactics, and speak lovingly and respectfully back, remembering that I too have failed in treating others kindly!

.

UNLOVING SITUATIONS

.

So if my spouse is cold and unloving, instead of returning that cold lovelessness, why not go and pray for grace to be warm, forgiving, and deeply respectful to that precious soul created and given by God, my spouse?

THE FORSAKEN

Or what about that overweight person in the mall, or that drunkard begging?

Are not their souls every bit as precious to Jesus as is my soul?

Therefore, because they too are dear and precious in the sight of God, they should be dear and precious in our sight as well!

After all, didn’t Jesus bleed and die for them also?

A WELLSPRING OF LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

Now having said all these things, we must remember what Jesus said in John 7:38…“He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

.

Yes, the child of God does not need to somehow dredge up love and forgiveness.

.

Those virtues will flow continually out of the heart of every true worshiper of God.

Well, the television isn’t the only place that the notorious Brand-X is found!

Let’s explain…

Have you ever been on a tour through the colossal Hearst Castle?

Because all of the buildings and hallways, and swimming pools and dining rooms which were once filled with fun, frolic and laughter, are now silent, except for the tour-guide and his audience!

And in a very real way, the people who once lived there and all the guests that frequented its not-so-hallowed halls, were convinced that they had purchased the name-brand!

They were the famous!

They were the beloved!

They were like family to us!

If they left their top button unbuttoned, then so did the rest of the world!

These were the fresh faces of the silver screen! (Well, some were not-so-fresh).

These were the movers-and-shakers of the world.

These were the beloved idols of millions!

15 MINUTES OF FAME

But what these cherished and adored ones didn’t realize was, that all their glory, and all their beauty, was like a little flower of the field.

.

As one philosopher said, these were enjoying their “15 minutes in the Sun”.

.

Because, after a few short years, their beauty began to fade!

.

Their popularity began to wane! 

.

Their fans began to move on!

.

Their movies began to bomb!

.

They were like that little flower which loses its petals, one-by-one.

.

And eventually, they disappeared, one-by-one, as they each slipped silently into their eternal reward.

Just like the little flower of the field, which eventually bows down and dies at Summer’s end!

It truly looks like a flower, and appears to be blowing in the direction westward.

But as summer begins to pass, this constellation appears to bow itself down, just like the flowers of Earth bow down, at the summer’s end.

And these are not merely obscure stars. These are among the biggest and brightest stars in the night heavens.

The Two Turtle-Doves Constellation is also known as Sagittarius .

The Flower of the Field is also known as Scorpio .

But there is another obvious aspect to this constellation group.

Notice that the birds are flying in the same direction as the flower is bending; it is as if the east wind is blowing these heavenly messengers…

For about a week, thousands congregate together in the desert of Nevada to hold a very energetic convocation dedicated to, well, uh, dedicated to reviving paganism.

ANARCHY CELEBRATED

Oh yes, a microcosmic communal mini-society is constructed out there, governed by supposed anarchy, but made possible by the voluntary self-imposed civility of the attendees

(if they continued longer than a week, their well-behaved and orderly conduct would probably begin to devolve into a total lawless mess!).

But on the last day of this great fest, a giant statue of a man is set on fire, symbolizing the pagan human sacrifices once performed by the more primitive cultures of centuries past.

For example, one major university has just announced that it is eliminating such classes as history, philosophy, and other courses dealing with higher thought.

And there is even now a giant push, by socialists, to actually rewrite history altogether!

Still other universities no longer tolerate freedom of speech.

Some high-school districts are wanting to eliminate higher math courses!

But this is just another spoke in that wheel of devolution.

CRUDE, PAGAN MUSIC AND CHANTS

Another element in this paganistic downward spiral is the “music” industry.

The great Renaissance (reawakening) movement in centuries-past brought higher learning and elevated music into society.

But this has now been largely replaced by very crude and repetitious music and warlike chants, featuring lyrics dealing mostly with the baser human functions, body orifices, as well as drug-use and wanton whoredom.

And just look at television and Internet!

The great literary works of yesteryear have greatly been replaced by TV dramas which often capitalize on pride, murder, revenge, lust, greed, hate, and other animal-like behaviors.

And Internet is even worse, pushing the lowest, crudest, lewdest, and vilest and hateful videos, etc., steering young people away from anything elevating and ennobling!

And lawmakers, and governments are now beginning to ignore the rule of law, replacing it with mob rule.

Even today’s social media has become the breeding ground for angry mobs!

And even violent retaliation against rejecters of those false religions has replaced simple faith and belief.

But just look around! More and more we are witnessing a return to face and body piercings with rings, tattoos and other pagan markings.

Is there any redeemable aspect to all this cultural destruction?

Well, those who have some love for truth still in them, will stop, look around, and consider just how far mankind has devolved from things good, and wholesome, and upright, and noble.

And perhaps they will return to the Lord in hopes of finding deliverance from this increasingly dangerous societal decay.

And having that Salvation, they can begin to elevate their own thoughts with the higher thought and wisdom to be found only in God’s Word, the Bible!

This above verse from Revelation is a direct reference to the Signs In Heaven, which God is just now graciously revealing.

Notice that this above verse says… “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous“.

If ever there was a great and marvelous sign in Heaven, this 7 Star Constellation seems to be just that! 

.

And it is the easiest of all constellations to locate (excepting for those in the southernmost latitudes of the Earth who cannot see it).

.

It seems to stand alone in the northern sky, outshining any other constellation in the night heavens! 

.

As for its significance, it is easy to see the message for which it was created to bring. 

.

It looks like a bowl. A giant bowl!

.

And in the winter, it begins to slowly tip through the night, as if it is finally spilling out its contents upon the earth, as stated in Revelation… “And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial upon the earth” Revelation 16:2.

And so, it is not hard to see the message which this constellation presents.

In the summer it begins to slowly tip.

.

But in winter it does fully appear to pour out its contents upon the Earth.

A ‘HIGHWAY TO HELL’ STORY…

One night, the TV in their electronics department of a big-box store was airing a rock band in concert. 

.

This lead guitarist ran up a stairway and when he got to the top it looked as though he was electrocuted. Sparks flew in all directions!

.

And then he quickly descended, still playing, still getting hit by random sparks all the way down this fire-escape-like stairway, as if he was being chased down the stairs by some unknown entity.

.

When he reached the bottom, he disappeared.

.

Then in a moment, the stage floor opened and up came this cage with this same guitarist inside the cage (still playing).

.

But now he had horns like a devil.

.

And all through this performance, the camera often panned the audience in the stadium, who were more than just a little enthusiastic, to say the least!

.

AMBASSADORS OF HELL

.

Now this devotional is not trying to promote the idea of anyone listening to this type of music. This is the Devil’s world, after all!

.

But this highly choreographed song was making a rather overt statement, which was hard to miss!

.

The stairway in the skit represented the path to Heaven.

.

Him getting burnt by sparks as he reached the top of the stairs obviously represents having a bad experience in church.

.

Him getting chased down the stairs by those random sparks represents…well…getting chased out of church.

.

And of course, after he later ascends up from Hell in a cage, with the devil-horns…well…this speaks for itself.

.

But this musically choreographed scenario is nothing new, of course…

…just look at this very old picture showing two pathways…

…one leads Heavenward, and the other path leads, obviously, to Hell.

HELL ON EARTH! NOW!

And this rock group instinctively knows that you don’t need to die in order to go to Hell.

You just live for the Devil, and you’ve already arrived in Hell: i.e., spiritual darkness!

Now that’s really something, if you think about it!

A group of unbelievers instinctively realize that Hell exists right here and right now on this not-so-terra-firma planet!

.

Now this is even more amazing when one considers that many Christians are not even aware of this fact, that Hell begins right here on Earth and extends to the grave!

SOMETIMES EVEN THE DEVIL GETS IT RIGHT!

Perhaps one of the points to this story is that while they were doing this skit, these pagan rocksters were unwittingly presenting a Bible truth, which is likewise written in the heavens!

And this Valley of Decision Constellation which lies between the Summer and Winter Constellations gives basically the same skit! But it is written in Heaven!

.

So, this sketch shows this third mountain (right) with a road that goes straight down to the Dragon (the Devil).

In essence, this is the Broad Way to Hell! (“The Highway to Hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.” Matthew 7:13 NLT).

SATAN’S COUNTERFEITS

But Satan is that ancient, unseen master of confusion and counterfeiting.

He really knows how to deceive and prejudice the people!

But of course, in the instance of this rock group, Satan was just counterfeiting what God had already inscribed long ago, in the heavens, back in the days of Creation.

“NICE” PEOPLE!

.

Well, all this being translated into everyday life, there are many persons who decide for one reason or other, that they do not wish to serve God.

.

Or perhaps, they simply fall back into a worldly lifestyle.

.

And just like that satanic skit portrays, these dissatisfied persons, unknowingly become tools of the Devil and are then unwittingly used by him to draw away many others from God’s sheepfold.

NICE DEVIL TOO!

And you don’t have to be a Devil-worshipping rock musician, to be a tool of the Devil.

Even some nice, clean-cut, well-behaved members of the community, can deceive fellow church-members, simply by pursuing the things of the world, thus becoming a bad example to fellow church-members.

.

And just as this rock band is doing the Devil’s bidding in their career in pagan-worship, the rest of us likewise are the Devil’s helpers, whether we know it or not, prior to our conversion to Christianity (and sometimes after, too!)

But the Good News is, that it is still the day of Salvation!

There’s still time for us to repent (including those rocksters)!

And so, there is still time for every one of us to begin walking that upward pathway which leads to everlasting life!

Look at the slope of this third mountain, and notice that it goes straight down to the Dragon Constellation.

.

This slope belongs to the constellation commonly called Pisces.

.

Doesn’t it almost look like the Dragon is towing this Mountain?

.

It almost looks like the Dragon is transporting this false mountain from the south…from Hell.

.

And he has pulled it northward…next to these other two mountains.

.

This would almost seem like a comical idea…if it weren’t for the destruction and death and woe caused by Satan for many-a-millennium.

.

Just listen to this verse… “Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:” Isaiah 5:18.

So God, it seems, has created this constellation group to present this fearful concept!

THE BROAD WAY

But there is a second meaning to this long line of stars from this Destroying Mountain down to the Dragon Constellation?

It would remind one of a highway. But what kind of highway? Need there be any further explanation?

They say that a picture paints a thousand words.

Well, this picture that God has placed in the night sky paints a very poignant portrait indeed!

This represents that “broad way which leads to destruction”.

Many people are perplexed about all the killing that went on in the Old Testament.

Most Bible readers simply cannot understand why the Old Testament is so violent!

NEW TESTAMENT NON-VIOLENCE

And what makes this even more confusing, is that the New Testament reveals how non-violent Jesus was!

And in the New Testament, the only killing that occurred, was done by unbelievers!

It almost seems as if there are two Gods in the Bible: an angry God and a forgiving God!

EVIL ASSOCIATIONS

Oh yes, many theologians rightly teach that the Old Testament brought out the justice side of God, while the New Testament brought out His mercy side.

But there was another really important message that God wants us to learn from so much of the killing in the Old Testament.

“Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you,

and destroy all their pictures,

and destroy all their molten images,

and quite pluck down all their high places…”

Numbers 33:52, 55, 56

.

Yes, God is trying to get our attention.

That’s right!

All these literal killings in the Old Testament were allowed by God, to give a picture of what God wants us to do spiritually.

.

No, God doesn’t want Christians to kill anyone!

.

But rather, He wants Christians to separate themselves from fellowship with unbelievers. 

.

THE WICKED ENCIRCLE AROUND GOD’S PEOPLE

“Therefore the law is slacked,

and judgment doth never go forth:

for the wicked doth compass about the righteous;

therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.”

Habakkuk 1:4

This above passage confirms the concept that overwhelming associations will have a destructive influence on the Church of God.

Perhaps this next verse says it more concisely… “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1st Corinthians 15:33.

SHARING HEAVENLY MANNA…

OR JUST SHARING WORLDLY FARE?

The Bible clearly commands to avoid world-loving fellowship with unbelievers…

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:

for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?…

Wherefore come out from among them,

and be ye separate, saith the Lord,

and touch not the unclean [thing]”

2nd Corinthians 6:14, 17

.

When evangelizing, we are trying to get them to eat of the Bread of Heaven.

.

When fellowshipping with unbelievers, we are partaking of their worldly fare: hence we are as though eating the unclean meat of sin!

“TAKE THEM NOT OUT OF THE WORLD…

BUT KEEP THEM FROM THE EVIL!”

John 17:15

Of course, there will be many times when a Christian cannot avoid a certain amount of fellowship with unbelievers: family situations and work situations, etc….

During these get-togethers, the Christian will sometimes be sorely tempted to engage in ungodly conversation.

.

Afterwards, the Christian may plead for God’s help to keep him from being drawn into such ungodly conversations.

.

WHO WOULD WANT TO “HANG OUT” WITH HOLINESS?

.

But listen to how the world feels about Christians…

“For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ,

in them that are saved,

and in them that perish:

To the one we are the savour of death unto death;

and to the other the savour of life unto life.”

2nd Corinthians 2:15-16

.

If any Christian has the notion that unbelievers are really impressed with Christians, the above passage puts that fallacy to rest!

.

The world doesn’t like Christians’ law-abiding ways!

.

Just think about it! If a Christian is living the Christ-like life, who in the world would want to “buddy around” with him anyway!?!

JESUS, PAUL, ETC., HAD NO SECULAR FRIENDSHIPS

.

Does anyone suppose that Jesus had secular friendships? Or Paul, perhaps? Or even the Apostle John?

.

Certainly, the Bible makes no mention of these three having any secular friendships.  

.

No, the only persons who wanted to “hang out” with Jesus, Paul, or John were those who were already disciples, or those who were contemplating becoming disciples.

“I SAT ALONE”

Now listen to Jeremiah’s testimony…

“I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced;

I sat alone because of Thy hand:

for Thou hast filled me with indignation.”

As this above verse exhorts, we too will often experience loneliness or sadness, even as Jeremiah did, as we also refuse to join in with the mockery and folly of today’s world.

But as Strangers & Pilgrims sojourning through this hopelessly dying world, the Christian must fix his eyes upon the heavenly Prize.

Yes, one day soon, the faithful followers of Jesus will cross over that Black River, and into that wonderful Promised Land which will ring with the sounds of everlasting joy!

FAINTING GOATS

.

Now, there is a certain type of goat, often called “The Fainting Goat”, which is the favorite animal on many farms, primarily in the southern states of the USA.

.

This certain breed has a seeming abnormality which causes the goat to stiffen up and fall down whenever startled, frightened, or excited, as if it were dead.

.

But then, after lying stiff with its legs in the air, it quickly regains its composure and stands back upright again.

.

Now, besides being a source of laughter and comedy by onlookers, these odd creatures can offer us a real teaching moment!

Yes, this little Fainting Goat is a fitting symbol of those of us who lack faith whenever some supposed trial, big or little, comes our way.

The fact is, there are multitudes in the Church who do just fine when all is going well.

.

But the moment some trial comes our way, we faint away from any faithful biblical response!

.

Yes, instead of claiming God’s “exceeding great and precious promises”, we quite often, rather just handle that situation exactly like this faithless world reacts to such situations. (see 2nd Peter 1:4)

.

For example, when many Christians feel we’ve have been mistreated, instead of “turning the other cheek”, we rather react angrily, demanding justice and recompense. (see Matthew 5:39)

.

Or many may resort to using carnal weapons, instead of claiming the promises of God, such as…“And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?” 1st Peter 3:13  

.

Well, there could be multitudes of examples given to illustrate how we Christians react faithlessly when in the trials of life which come our way.

But the Good News is, this is still the Day of Salvation!

.

And there is just enough time to begin hiding God’s “exceeding great and precious promises” in our hearts, and praying for strength to stand and walk in those promises.

Listen…“He (God) giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.” Isaiah 40:29 

.

THE HOLY-GHOST-RIDER CONSTELLATION

Well, if we look in the winter-night skies, we might possibly have our eyes opened to see a most incredible constellation group, known as the “Horse and His Rider” Constellation Group.

This constellation group is made up of a number of smaller constellations:

The horse’s head, made from the Perseus Constellation.

.

The tail and rear end is partly of the Cassiopeia Constellation.

.

The hind-leg is made partly of stars from the Andromeda Constellation.

.

The Rider is made primarily from the Camelopardalis Constellation.
