Noble Bereans,

Part 52:

“Dead People Speaking!?”

So, in this little series, the subject of those noble Bereans has been introduced…

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,

in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind,

and searched the Scriptures daily,

whether those things were so.”

AN OPEN-MINDED SPIRIT IN BEREA

.

Okay, so those in Berea were more noble, because they:

.

1. “Received the Word with all readiness of mind.”

.

2. “And searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

.

And so, these open-minded, truth-seeking Bereans were ready and even eager to receive new teachings, which no doubt, conflicted with the supposed, “orthodox” teachings of that day!

.

THE FALSE PROPHET

.

Ellen White pin-pointed the Revelation 13 “False Prophet” as being Satan rising within the United States of America.

.

And this 2nd Beast caused the world to bow down to the 1st Beast of Revelation 13 which was the apostate Church of Rome working in the churches of Europe.

.

Harold Camping on the other hand pin-pointed the “False Prophet” as being Satan as he came as an “angel of light” to deceive the world…

.

…and deceive the churches through his so-called, “ministers of righteousness”. (see 2nd Corinthians 11:14, 15)

.

And in a sense, both Camping and White are correct.

.

In other words, the correct answer is, “All of the above”.

COUNTERFEIT MIRACLES

.

Yes, Satan’s “False Prophet” is indeed the antichrist spirit which originally rose up in the New World…

.

…but is spreading his deadly tentacles around the globe via the fallen apostate churches.

And one of the great evidences of this miracle-working spirit is the many counterfeit miracles which the fallen churches are performing.

.

And perhaps the greatest evidence that these signs and wonders are merely counterfeits is the fact that the church-world has become increasingly apostate.

“And he (The False Prophet, 2nd Beast) doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men”

Revelation 13:13

This above verse prophesied of this False Prophet Beast…“and he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men”.

.

But like so many other prophecies, this one too must be understood spiritually.

.

**In other words, what we are now seeing in Christendom is a false, Pentecostal fire in the form of counterfeit “signs and lying wonders”:**

…so-called “tongues”,

…Falling Backwards,

…dreams,

…visions,

…inner-voices,

….and such-like.

DREAMS

For example, take the phenomenon of dreams.

Many faithful churchgoers are receiving so-called prophetic dreams which they attribute to the Holy Spirit.

And of course, this is the work of the False Prophet who deceives these poor lost souls into believing that God is working marvelously through them.

Listen…“And he (the False Prophet Beast) doeth great wonders,

so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth

by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast“

Revelation 13:13, 14

This above passage reveals that this False Prophet will deceive men via these counterfeit miracles…

…and thus, making them think they are saved when in truth, they still love this present, selfish world to a great extent.

LOVING THIS SELFISH WORLD

Unfortunately, most faithful churchgoers are still conformed to the qualities of this world and have little desire to become totally renewed into the image of Christ.

After all, why would they ever want to become fully converted and fully Christlike?

That would require them to forsake all.

.

And they have no desire to forsake all, becoming Christlike.

.

But the False Prophet comes to them, giving them prophetic-like dreams and other lying signs and wonders to deceive them into their false sense of security.

Well, if there is any Good News, it is that God is calling His professed people to …

…”Come out of her, My people,

lest ye partake of her sins

and receive of her plagues”

All who are willing to renounce this selfish world and follow the Lamb to the top of Mount Sion will be counted with the overcomers.

And they will have their Heavenly Father’s true name written in their foreheads (in their hearts).

And that name is defined by the Holy Bible and is the image of true righteousness and holiness.

**In the February 22 devotional (click here to read), it was put forth that this world is “an experiment in selfishness”.**

.

And really, it doesn’t take much observation to see selfishness in action around the world!

.

**Selfishness is seen in every direction and seemingly seeps through every pore-and-crevice of this fallen world’s societies!**

.

By nature, we are all selfish.

.

And this, our selfishness, is contrasted by the spotless life of Jesus!

.

He lived a life of self-denying love for the world, culminating with the sacrificing of His own life on the Cross for the Salvation of lost souls!

“LORD, LORD, HAVE WE NOT…DONE MANY WONDERFUL WORKS?”

Now of course, many will be quick to point to all the humanitarianism now occurring in the world, saying, “How can the world be considered selfish, when we engage in so many charitable deeds?”

So, what about this?

Is it an unfair charge to make against this world, that we are selfish by nature, when we see so many charitable acts of kindness?

“THERE IS NONE THAT DOES GOOD: NO NOT ONE!”

Romans 3:12

But listen to this…“A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. ” Proverbs 12:10

So just who are these wicked ones mentioned in the above verse?

Well, listen to 1st John 5:19… “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”

.

So okay, this verse reveals that the entire world is steeped in wickedness.

**And even the “tender mercies” of this wicked world are considered cruel by God.**

But why are all of this world’s charitable deeds to be considered cruel?

Listen again…“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2nd Timothy 3:5

This above verse is preceded by a long list of Mankind’s selfish ways.

Listen…“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves,

covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers…

lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:

from such turn away.”

THE ARK IN THE HEAVENS

So, if a person goes out at night, beginning in April (earlier in southern-most latitudes, and later in northern-most), in the pre-dawn hour, they just might locate the constellation commonly referred to as the Sagittarius Constellation .

.

It is located in the southern sky. (Each night it appears a little earlier, slowly inching westward, through the summer, until it finally disappears below the western horizon in November.)

.

At first, it simply appears as two twin birds flying westward.

.

But if you look once again, it just might appear as a long box-like figure, with one star on the right, as you face it, and two stars on the left.

.

The box, of course would be the Ark, and the stars on either side would represent angels, which are sometimes referred to as stars in the Bible (for instance, “the seven stars are the angels…” Revelation 1:20).

Yes, this world seems to be going helter-skelter!

In the world of politics, the pure venomous hatred between the opposing ideologies has reached a boiling-over point!

The mass media news has devolved into little more than yellow journalism, when it comes to anything even vaguely related to politics and social issues.

Rogue religions attempting to force themselves upon the world, under the threat of physical violence.

Schools increasingly transforming into indoctrination centers for anti-biblical ideologies…

Various ethnic/religious groups becoming increasingly intolerant and disdainful of each other, now increasingly fixated with the insane obsession over skin-color!

Colleges becoming increasingly intolerant of any speech which opposes the dominant false ideologies.

Censorship by the Internet ‘Goliaths’ is sending many websites into the cyber-abyss because they are not “politically correct” in what they advocate.

The number of sick persons around the world is greatly increasing.

People becoming increasingly intolerant of each other for social, personal, ethnic, and religious reasons.

Various churches and denominations now preaching prosperity-driven gospels, sometimes referred to as, “The Name-It-And-Claim-It Gospel” or even the “Entrepreneurial Spirit”.

Oh yes, these prosperity ideologies may be fine for the people of the world to pursue, but the Christian’s great focus and chief desire is now to be Heavenward, seeking to be transformed into the image of Christ.

But really, to understand all this global failure, we need to realize that this world was originally just an experiment in selfishness.

That’s right, Lucifer, being one of the chief angels of Heaven, thought he had discovered a better way than God’s government of “unselfish love”.

And in His infinite wisdom, God allowed Lucifer to bring his rebellion down to this little planet, to show the universe what a terrible ideology Lucifer was trying to peddle: selfishness!

.

And so, this world has been allowed to continue on for the millenniums it has existed until this very day in which everything all around us seems to be failing.

LUCIFER WAS DESTINED FOR FAILURE

And God knew all along that this world was destined for failure.

But God couldn’t convince us, unless He allowed us to suffer through this experiment in selfishness (And let’s face it! That’s all that sin really is: selfishness!)

But if He didn’t show us up close and first-hand, we could never have comprehended just how evil that our selfishness really is!

So, what importance to us is all this information?

Well, if a person goes out at night, beginning in April (earlier in southern-most latitudes, and later in northern-most), in the pre-dawn hour, they just might locate the constellation commonly referred to as the Sagittarius Constellation .

.

It is located in the southern sky. (Each night it appears a little earlier, slowly inching westward, through the summer, until it finally disappears below the western horizon in November.)

.

At first, it simply appears as two twin birds flying westward.

.

But if you look once again, it just might appear as a long box-like figure, with one star on the right, as you face it, and two stars on the left.

.

The box, of course would be the Ark, and the stars on either side would represent angels, which are sometimes referred to as stars in the Bible…

(for instance, “the seven stars are the angels…” Revelation 1:20).

Well, If you look up and lift up your head, you just might see a wonderful sign, which God spoke about in Revelation 12.

It is a constellation of a woman.

The ancients only saw it as a great bear.

**It is commonly known as Ursa Major .**

**It is also known as the 7 Stars (aka, The Big Dipper), but with the addition of various other stars.**

But with the eye of faith, it actually appears as the Revelation 12 Woman.

You see, God has placed in the heavens, the symbol of His bride, the Church-Faithful.

I AM GUILTY OF THE SAME!

There’s a whole lot of finger-pointing going on these days, wouldn’t you agree?

.

Well, today’s devotional is still attempting to further bring out this concept, that at whatever point we judge another, we are guilty of the same.

.

**Listen again…*“Therefore thou art inexcusable,***

O man, whosoever thou art that judgest:

for wherein thou judgest another,

thou condemnest thyself;

***for thou that judgest* *doest the same things.”***

Romans 2:1

Yes, the Bible forewarns us that when we point the accusing finger at someone else, there are three fingers pointing back at us: THREE FINGERS FROM HEAVEN!

The Mockers of the Airwaves

.

For those of us so-called Christians who have foolishly allowed ourselves to become entranced with, and captive to the daily political wranglings, via Television, Internet, and radio…

.

**…we have unwittingly allowed this “Prince of the Power of the Air” to fill our hearts with his poisonous venom which he spews out on a 24/7/365 basis!**

.

But the Bible warns us…“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1st Corinthians 15:33

.

**Yes, when we allow our soul-temple to be defiled with “evil communications”, it pollutes our heart and mind and impacts our speech and conduct in everyday matters!**

.

Thus, our lackadaisical indiscretion results in our unchristlikeness and makes us unable to “Purify [ourselves] even as He (Christ) is pure“, nor to “walk even as He (Jesus) walked” (See 1st John 2:6 & 3:3)

.

SATAN STEALS OUR PERFECT PEACE

.

**One great problem with listening to Satan’s whisperings, is that this is how this “Accuser of our brethren” gains access into our hearts and minds (see Revelation 12:10).**

.

**And once we allow him access, he often begins to torment us with all sorts of “evil surmisings” about the motives of the hearts of others. (1st Timothy 6:4)**

.

We must remember the Wise Man’s advice…

…”Keep thy heart with all diligence;

for out of it are the issues of life.

Put away from thee a froward mouth,

and perverse lips put far from thee.

Let thine eyes look right on,

and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Ponder the path of thy feet,

and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:

remove thy foot from evil.”

Proverbs 4:24-27

Yes, to guard the avenues to the soul, not allowing Satan any access, is our first and foremost duty!

**So, what we need to understand is that “the god of this world”, Lucifer, must cover up the true nature of evil which makes up his kingdom of this world.**

Well, in spite of this very bad news, there is some really Good News!

Yes, there is a way of escape from this totally evil condition in this entirely wicked and selfish world we live in!

Yes, there is a fountain in which, if a man, woman, or child drinks freely from, that soul can become filled with true love and true goodness!

And God is the only source of true love!

And so, let’s not wait until that dreadful day to find out the truth; but let’s right now become “wise as serpents, and harmless as doves”, as we begin our heavenward sojourn out of this deceptively evil world! (see Matthew 10:16)

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven;

and behold a great red dragon,

having seven heads and ten horns,

and seven crowns upon his heads.”

**In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.**

.

**However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.**

.

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.

Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

.

**The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7).**

**And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10).**

So we have this 7/10 numbering.

And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent.

Why should it be such an unbelievable phenomenon that God has etched three faces in the Moon, representing the three factions within the church-world?

.

After all, the Gospel is inscribed in every aspect of nature!

.

From the tiniest atom to the greatest galaxy, and even beyond, God has inscribed some aspect of the Gospel.

But the Moon is our object lesson for today.

And each of its three faces were purposely inscribed by God to teach us about our own self.

Take for instance the second face: the wolf, or perhaps a fox, or a dog.

This wolf-like face with one raised, judgmental eyebrow, gives us a fitting portrait of a scornful, judgmental human.

And it reminds us of the Old Testament sect, known as The Pharisees, or “Dogs…the Concision”. Philippians 3:2

Yes, those Pharisees were a very judgmental group, who took pride that they were very moral and upright, and looked down upon others whom they supposed were not so morally upright.

A WORLD OF INEQUALITIES!

And in this very proud world, there are many things which cause us to judge and scorn.

And there are many people who just seem to be magnets for others to judge and scorn them.

.

And because we all innately possess pride in our hearts, looking down upon, and judging others, comes to us about as natural as breathing!

.

Quite often, we’re not even aware that we’re doing it!

.

We judge those who look funny or dress weird.

.

We judge those who habitually make poor decisions in life.

.

We judge the quirky mannerisms and odd behavior of old people.

.

And we often judge those whom we think are “lazy”…

…or dirty,

…or poor,

…or rich,

…or “nerds”,

…or “hip”,

…or in a cult,

…or in a world-loving gospel,

…or are “too religious”,

…or believe supposed false doctrines.

GOD, NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS

This entire world is full of inequities.

And people tend to judge just about anything and anyone whom they see as being less than themselves in some way!

But listen to what Peter had to say about God…

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said,

Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons…”

Acts 10:34

.

God values the soul of the poor drunken beggar just as much as the soul of the wealthy entrepreneur.

.

He values the soul of the high-stepping politician just as much as He does the starving multitudes in third-world nations.

.

He bled and died to save even that poor, miserable wretch bent over from a life of drug abuse!

“My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ…

Well, none of us can say that we haven’t judged or even scorned somebody.

And probably, most of us have done so, a multitude of times!

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY”

Proverbs 25:25

The Good News is, that this is still the Day of Salvation!

And God is giving us just enough time to repent of this horrible crime against Heaven.

And God will sit as a purifier of our hearts, and remove all Pharisaic pride, if we will just cry out to Him for mercy.

.

But just one tidbit of advice which will be a benefit for each of us: whenever we catch ourselves judging another individual, for Heaven’s sake, simply begin praying for God’s blessing on that dear soul, for whom Christ also bled & died!

One last verse for us to ponder…

“Speak not evil one of another, brethren.

He that speaketh evil of his brother,

and judgeth his brother,

speaketh evil of the law,

and judgeth the law:

but if thou judge the law,

thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

There is one Lawgiver,

DRAGON’S WAVE OF WATER

**In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.**

.

**However, the Dragon of Revelation 12 Constellation up in the night sky does not.**

.

But God has faithfully created this wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.

.

Because this wave of water is basically comprised of ten stars.

.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#’s 1 thru 7, in the sketch), and the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars, (#’s 8, 9, 10).

So in this wave, we see the same 7/10 numbering found in the Revelation description of the heads/horns/crowns of the Dragon.

And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent.

HABAKKUK SAYS, “RUN!”

And so, just what is the solution to this seemingly impossible situation?

Well, the prophet Habakkuk says in Chapter 2…

“And the LORD answered me, and said,

Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables,

that he may run that readeth it.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time,

but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:

though it tarry, wait for it;

because it will surely come,

it will not tarry.”

Habakkuk 2:2, 3

Here we see that it is now time to “RUN!”

Here it is seen that it is no more time to be planting, building, buying, selling, marrying (and divorcing)!

No, it is time for God’s sorely tried people to run to the safety and refuge in the appointed hiding place in the heavenly “everlasting mountains” which surround the “Jerusalem now…in bondage to sin” (see Genesis 49:26 & Galatians 4:25)

Well, obviously, the very first place to run for safety is from the presence of these unwholesome influences.

But we are not to force others into submission to our will!

And so, in the secret pavilion of God, the Believer can pray for his or her family, that they too may eventually come along on this end-time exodus out of this world.

**And you said, “Sure!”, only to see them pull gum out of their mouth, and hand it to you!**

Then they laughingly explained that ABC stood for “Already Been Chewed”!

Okay, so that joke only worked one time, leaving you a little embarrassed, but just a little bit wiser!

HAVING OTHERS CHEW OUR FOOD!

Well, for some reason, too many Christians are seeking after ABC Christianity!

What’s that, you ask?

ABC Christianity is when a churchgoer reads everything but the Bible!

It’s as if we need to have somebody else chew it for us!

After all, Satan is a master at concealing lies in a book or a sermon, or a Bible study, which contains 90% truth.

A Christian must study the real thing first: the Bible!

But even some of the great radio preachers of yesteryear, have errors in the otherwise good teachings!

We just can’t leave the responsibility of our soul’s Salvation in the hands of erring, fallible men!

No matter how much we respect or even revere them!

So here we see that God is telling us that we just don’t really need anybody to teach us!

We have the Holy Spirit to teach us (if we’re truly saved).

And each and every Christian should come to the point of reaching “teacher-status”.

…”For when for the time ye ought to be teachers,

ye have need that one teach you again

Paul is scolding us, because we have been letting others do our Bible studying and even do our thinking for us, when instead, we ourselves should be teachers by now!

So in conclusion, each and every one of us needs to become so well-grounded in the Bible that, we each can… “sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.” (spiritually speaking, of course)! (Judges 20:16).

Yes, the verses of the Bible are those stones.

.

And we all need to be willing to deny ourselves every earthly pleasure, if it means spending more time in God’s Word.

.

And for Heaven’s sake! Let’s stop eating all that ABC gum, and all that ABC food, and start eating God’ Word instead!

Yes, it takes a lot of chewing. But it will be well worth the effort!

Okay, so those in Berea were more noble, because they:
