In that wonderful book, Pilgrim’s Progress, there was a character, named “Atheist”.

.

**And this man (as this picture depicts) was a man with bad eyesight (blinded by the god of this world).**

.

And the artist of this picture was not too gentle in his portrayal of Mr. Atheist.

But in a day and age in which militant atheists are forcing their hopelessly miserable ideology on us, and our children, it takes some restraint to not mock…

.

But it must be remembered that only God can open the eyes of the blind.

.

And so, the atheist, like all the rest of us sinners, is completely at the mercy of God’s grace.

LOOSE ENDS OF ATHEISM

.

For those of us who have been atheists, we understand that there’s a need to explain away the unexplainable.

.

**As a young atheist, we had certain “monkey wrenches in the works”, so to speak: various “loose ends” which we desperately tried to tie up.**

.

That is, there were things which didn’t quite set right with atheism.

.

BEAUTY & POETRY OF NATURE

.

Now one of those loose ends of atheism is the “the beauty & poetry & symmetry of nature”.

.

Yes, the beauty and poetry of nature is a big problem for the atheist.

The beauty and poetry of nature just doesn’t quite harmonize with the “Big Bang”!

The chaos of the pre-bang eternity-past, just doesn’t quite harmonize with this law-abiding universe, filled with beauty and symmetry and poetry!

.

And so, as atheists, we tried to convince ourselves that beauty is just subjective: something that we have merely adapted ourselves to.

.

MANY PRISONERS OF HOPELESS FEAR!

.

And let’s face it! Many or perhaps most atheists don’t like to think too deeply about these things.

Atheism is a very unsettling ideology, or religion, or philosophy, or whatever one may wish to call it.

And thus, the average atheist is a prisoner of his own fears of hopelessness, to a great degree.

.

Listen… “through fear of death (the people of the world) were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” Hebrews 2:15.

.

Yes, this world is held captive through the fear of death, even though few will admit it.

.

And the closer to the grave, the more that this hopeless philosophy begins to crush out the joy of their life…

.

HIDEOUS UNDENIABLE

.

Now, back to this idea that “nature is neutral”.

.

The so-called “neutrality of nature” cannot even explain those things in nature which are obviously hideous looking!

.

It simply cannot be explained according to evolution and atheism and the so-called “big-bang”!

But the fact remains, that nature has many things beautiful, and many things, not-so-beautiful!

And that’s part of the poetry of nature!

.

Therefore, nature becomes our schoolmaster, teaching us lessons about good and evil!

.

Behold the Dandelion!

This little flower of the field looks so bright and so pretty.

But after a short time, when the hot Sun arises, this pretty little flower dies, and turns into lifeless spindles.

Yes, this too is our instructor, teaching us of the shortness and meaningless of life without God…

.

Listen…“All flesh is grass,

and all the goodliness thereof

is as the flower of the field:

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth…

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:

but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Isaiah 40:6-8

.

So here we see that God compares the grass to mankind, and the little wildflowers to man’s short-lived glory.

But also, nature teaches us the great lesson, that God loves good, but hates evil.

And so, as we look at the various aspects of nature, we can see God’s Law, written in the tiniest atom, to the greatest galaxy…and even beyond!

Laws concerning gravity.

Laws concerning music…and motion…and mechanics.

Laws concerning all creatures, great and small.

From the tiniest amoeba, to the great whales of the oceans.

Laws about the Earth, and fire and air…and laws about water.

Laws which require obedience, and laws which impose penalties for DIS-obedience.

Now at this point, the question that must be asked is this:

“Where did all these laws come from, by which the Universe operates?

Did these laws just come out of nowhere?

***Or can we conclude that all these laws* *were given by some supreme and divine Law-Giver?”***

And the same God who wrote the laws of nature has also written the moral laws for Mankind to follow.

And that Book is what we call “the Bible”: that Divine Law-book given to Mankind, by that Divine Law-Giver…God.

Just go for a simple walk and appreciate what God has created for Man’s enjoyment!

NATURE’S WISDOM

But not only does nature operate by laws, and by beauty and by poetry, but nature operates by wisdom.

Nature teaches lessons.

And even the atheist can see and appreciate, that nature’s teachers instruct wise lessons about life…

“But ask now the beasts…

and the fowls of the air,

and the fishes of the sea…

and they shall teach thee…

Or speak to the Earth, and it shall teach thee:

Who knoweth not in all these

that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?”

NATURE’S DAILY DRAMA

But what many do not realize is, that everything in nature is daily beckoning the world’s inhabitants to return back to God.

As we walk down the street, all nature is like a grand stage, with actors acting out its daily drama of instruction…all around!

.

**And for those who are fortunate enough to live on a farm, those roosters crowing are just God’s “heralds of the morning”, enthusiastically announcing a joyful new day.**

.

NATURE’S DAILY UNFOLDING DRAMA

To feel the caresses of the warm arms of the Sun, one can understand just a little of God’s warm love for lost humanity.

The squirrel, gathering its daily store, reminds men to search the Scriptures daily & to hide His Word in our hearts.

.

All have been created for Man’s enjoyment, but also Man’s betterment: Man’s Salvation.

.

CROWNING MOMENTS OF THE DAY

Just look at this picture!

On many sunny days, there is an utterly beautiful moment once just after dawn, and once again just before the sunset.

**It is what photographers call the Golden Moments of the Day.**

Just look at this bicyclist on “King Street”!

.

This bicyclist must be reveling in the warm golden beauty of this crowning moment!

.

**It’s almost as if God is reminding Man of that Golden Moment in which a man, or a woman, or even a child might turn once again to Man’s Creator and Redeemer God.**

.

And such a crowning moment should not be wasted!

THESE ALL TESTIFY OF OUR CREATOR!

Yes, the Gospel of Christ’s goodness, love, and Salvation is being preached all around us, every moment of every day!

And throughout nature, its witnesses all stand up and speak so eloquently in defense of nature’s God!

And any doubter or skeptic might could eventually come to the same conclusion: there has to be a Creator, who is filled with these same wonderful qualities!

HEAVENLY OBJECT LESSON

.

“Then the moon shall be confounded,

and the sun ashamed,

when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion,

and in Jerusalem,

and before his ancients gloriously.”

Isaiah 24:23

.

When God created the Moon and the stars, He ordained them to “rule the night” (Genesis 1:16).

.

The Moon, especially when it is full, can light your pathway through the night, as it reflects the light of the Sun.

.

So too, the Christian is to be a light to the world: to this sin-darkened world.

.

But as the Moon must reflect the light of the Sun, in order to be a light to the world, so also must the Christian reflect the light of Jesus, to be a spiritual light to this planet in rebellion.

.

However, during an eclipse, the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, preventing that sunlight from shining on the Moon’s face.

.

**Like the eclipse, that person no longer reflects the light of Jesus, because his or her love of this dark world of sin has eclipsed the light from the “Sun of Righteousness” (see Malachi 4:2).**

.

Today’s Devotional – January 24th (The True Message of Revelation!)

Today’s Devotional – January 24th

.

The True Message of Revelation!

.

**2,000 Years ago, Jesus gave to the apostle, John, an incredible revelation, while John was held captive on the island-prison called Patmos.**

.

**And the name which God gave this message is The Revelation of Jesus Christ.**

.

And indeed, it is a grand and glorious revelation of Jesus Christ, and how He works with His people!

.

Yes, Revelation presents allegorical pictures of how we must follow and serve Jesus, and how we must overcome this self-serving world.

.

So, let’s look at a few notable verses out of Revelation, which may give us the key to understanding that marvelous message.

.

7 CHURCHES: US!

.

Now in the Book of Revelation is found the 7 Heaven-sent messages to the 7 churches of Asia.

.

And in those messages are found two common threads, which occur in each message…

.

…In each letter, is found the following two messages…

…1. “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

.

2. To him that overcometh…” Revelation 2 & 3

.

These two proclamations are found in each of those 7 letters.

.

“HE (or she) THAT HAS AN EAR TO HEAR”

.

**Now the first, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”, is a phrase which is found elsewhere in Scripture…**

.

Listen…“Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house,

which have eyes to see, and see not;

they have ears to hear, and hear not:

for they are a rebellious house.”

Ezekiel 12:2.

.

Thus, Ezekiel here, is telling God’s people who, because of their rebelliousness, that they no longer can hear God’s Word.

.

So, upon reading the messages to the 7 Churches in Revelation, it now becomes apparent that many in the churches do not have spiritual ears to really hear and truly take to heart what God’s Word is trying to tell us!

.

But as with so much of the Bible, Revelation is written in veiled, allegorical language, thus requiring spiritual ears to hear that spiritual, allegorical message.

SPIRITUAL EARS REQUIRED TO UNDERSTAND ALLEGORIES

.

**For instance, many will read of Jezebel in Revelation Ch. 2:20 , in the message to Thyatira, but do not discern that it is speaking of the apostate portion of the Church.**

.

Listen to Paul, as he speaks of another woman, Agar, who was thrust into an adulterous affair…

…”For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia,

and answereth to Jerusalem which now is…”

Galatians 4:25.

Here, God is comparing this Egyptian adulteress, Hagar, to the apostate portion of God’s Church.

.

And by comparing spiritual things with spiritual, it is soon discovered that whenever the Bible refers to the “adulterous woman”, it is really speaking of God’s apostate people.

.

Well, this is just one example of the many allegories found in Revelation, which requires spiritual ears to hear what God is wanting us to hear.

.

“TO HIM THAT OVERCOMES”

.

**Now the second reoccurring phrase, “To him that overcometh…”, is found 7 times in these messages.**

.

And this message also requires “an ear to hear”.

.

This is because, the vast majority of those who read Revelation do not realize that this entire wonderful Book is actually a message about overcoming this world of sin and the Devil in charge.

.

Now these 7 messages to the 7 churches of Asia, set the tone for the entire Book of Revelation.

.

It’s all about overcoming. And it’s all about truly hearing what God is trying to tell us!

.

NEWSPAPERS & HISTORY BOOKS

.

But the problem is that, instead of studying the Bible, in hopes of unlocking the allegories…

.

…many simply study history books, or newspapers in hopes of deciphering the hidden messages found in Revelation.

.

But as with the rest of Scripture, Paul said concerning Revelation…

…”All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:”

2nd Timothy 3:16.

.

Yes, the verses of all 22 chapters reveal Jesus and His Gospel, and how it applies to the individual Christian.

.

GREAT COMMISSION: OVERCOMING THE WORLD!

.

But if one will simply compare Scripture with Scripture, making this his or her lifework, then that Bible student will immediately begin to unlock the true meaning of Revelation.

.

**And all who do this, humbly and prayerfully, may find that the Book of Revelation is really a “Revelation of Jesus”, and how He works in yours and in my life!**

.

And this is why God ends the Book of Revelation by saying (among other things)…

…“He that overcometh shall inherit all things;

and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.”

Revelation 21:7

.

Yes, this is the true great purpose of Revelation: to overcome the world, being transformed into the image of Christ!

.

And if you are one of the fortunate ones, who still has an ear to hear these spiritual allegories, you can begin to unlock the true spiritual message of Revelation, in your quest to overcome this world-of-sin, and reach the everlasting Promised Land.

.

This is the greatest commission given to every true worshipper of God!

“Dear Lord, Open my eyes to rightly understand this very personal message which is found in all 22 chapters of Revelation….

“ARCTURUS AND HIS SONS”

.

**So what does this verse, “there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel”, have to do with us today?**

.

After all, this prophecy of Balaam (left) was fulfilled in the coming of the long-awaited Messiah, Jesus Christ!

.

Well, if a person will go out at night, starting in January, and continuing through the warmer months, they might locate the star, Arcturus.

.

This star was spoken of in Job…

…”Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?

or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?”

Job 38:32.

This star is the host star for this Signs Of Heaven website.

.

And the star, Arcturus, also seems to fulfill the previous verse as well…

“…there shall come a Star out of Jacob,

and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel…“

Numbers 24:17.

.

As earlier stated, this passage seems to find a double fulfillment, not only concerning Jesus, but also, as we look into the heavens.

.

This star just happens to lead an entourage of constellations, which span the spring, summer, fall and winter skies, telling the beautiful, wonderful Gospel story.

.

This is the only known place in all the Earth and heavens in which God has created a pictorial account of the Gospel.

.

And no, this has nothing to do with the Zodiac.

.

But this revelation showcases the biggest and brightest constellations in the heavens, revealing an entirely different interpretation of those constellations from that of the ancient Babylonian and other pagan culture interpretations.

PAUL’S SPIRITUAL GROWTH

.

If one reads the book of Acts carefully, it will be discovered that the Apostle, Paul, was on a “learning curve”, as they say.

.

That is, Paul made some dreadful mistakes along the way.

.

For instance, in Acts, Chapter 23, when slapped, Paul in a heat of the moment cried out… “God shall smite thee, thou whited wall” Acts 23:3.

.

Now of course, Paul should never have cursed any man, but instead, should have left such things in the hands of God.

.

But that wasn’t all! For just a little while later, he made a very controversial statement, knowing that it would spark a heated debate between the two factions, Pharisees and Sadducees.

.

And it did.

.

PAUL REACTED IN LOVE & RESPECT

.

But it is evident that Paul had finally learned his lesson.

.

**Because, later, when standing before King Agrippa and Governor Festus, in Acts, Ch. 26.**

.

**You see, right in the middle of Paul’s defense of himself, Festus cried out, probably in a mocking manner… “Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad!” Acts 26:24**

.

Now at this point, Paul could have easily responded in anger at Festus’ insult.

.

But he didn’t! Instead, Paul said very gracious words in return to Festus.

.

And as a result of Paul’s soft and respectful answer, the king Agrippa, who was listening to this exchange, said to Paul… “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian!” Acts 26:28.

.

You see, if Paul had lost his temper, the king would never have been persuaded (almost). But Paul had passed his test!

.

And God had now prepared Paul for his ultimate evangelistic encounter…Caesar, the Emperor of Rome, whom he was going to testify before, in the near future.

LIFE THRU THE LOVING EYES OF JESUS

.

And this little account of Paul’s spiritual growth is a wonderful lesson for us today!

.

In a day when it is so easy to judge or speak critical words, we must remember that we have been chosen to be “ambassadors for Christ”, (2nd Corinthians 5:20.)

.

And as such, we have a solemn duty to treat each and every person, be it spouse, or children, or neighbors, or strangers, or even politicians with the utmost tender respect, as possible candidates for Heaven.

.

But more than this, we need to see all of humanity through the loving eyes of Jesus.

.

Yes, even our enemies! God created them, and until we walk in their shoes, we need to keep from judging them.

.

TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS

.

It is amazing what a little love and a little respect can do, to patch up a broken relationship.

.

And to give a gift in secret to one who has been offended will go a long way in mending a wounded soul!

Remember our key Bible passage…

“Love your enemies,

do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you,

and pray for them which despitefully use you.”

Yes, here is the formula for winning souls to Christ.

.

So, should a cashier speak rudely to me, I must try Paul’s tactics, and speak lovingly and respectfully back, remembering that I too have failed in treating others kindly!

.

UNLOVING SITUATIONS

So if my spouse is cold and unloving, instead of returning that cold lovelessness, why not go and pray for grace to be warm, forgiving, and deeply respectful to that precious soul created and given by God, my spouse?

THE FORSAKEN

Or what about that overweight person in the mall, or that drunkard begging?

Are not their souls every bit as precious to Jesus as is my soul?

Therefore, because they too are dear and precious in the sight of God, they should be dear and precious in our sight as well!

After all, didn’t Jesus bleed and die for them also?

A WELLSPRING OF LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

Now having said all these things, we must remember what Jesus said in John 7:38…“He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Yes, the child of God does not need to somehow dredge up love and forgiveness.

.

Those virtues will flow continually out of the heart of every true worshiper of God.

Have you ever bought the cheaper brand of some product, and wished that you would have spent the extra money for the name-brand?

Perhaps, some cleaning product that just didn’t perform as well as the higher-priced product?

Or maybe some generic brand of cola, that tasted faintly like raisins?

.

Or some inexpensive watch which didn’t keep proper time?

.

**And do you remember all those TV ads that compared their product with that notorious, brand-X?**

.

**Well, this is what today’s devotional is all about! The cheaper, lower quality brand. Brand-X, if you will.**

A BRAND-X LIFE

**Well, the television isn’t the only place that the notorious Brand-X is found!**

Let’s explain…

Have you ever been on a tour through the colossal Hearst Castle?

Quite a museum!

And yet, isn’t it kind-of like touring a mausoleum?

Because all of the buildings and hallways, and swimming pools and dining rooms which were once filled with fun, frolic and laughter, are now silent, except for the tour-guide and his audience!

They were the famous!

They were the beloved!

.

They were like family to us!

.

If they left their top button unbuttoned, then so did the rest of the world!

If they laughed, so did we also laugh!

These were the fresh faces of the silver screen! (Well, some were not-so-fresh).

**These were the movers-and-shakers of the world.**

These were the beloved idols of millions!

15 MINUTES OF FAME

But what these cherished and adored ones didn’t realize was, that all their glory, and all their beauty, was like a little flower of the field.

As one philosopher said, these were enjoying their “15 minutes in the Sun”.

Because, after a few short years, their beauty began to fade!

.

Their popularity began to wane!

.

Their fans began to move on!

.

Their movies began to bomb!

.

**They were like that little flower which loses its petals, one-by-one.**

**And eventually, they disappeared, one-by-one, as they each slipped silently into their eternal reward.**

Just like the little flower of the field, which eventually bows down and dies at Summer’s end!

This is perhaps one of the most amazing constellations that God has created.

It truly looks like a flower, and appears to be blowing in the direction westward.

But as summer begins to pass, this constellation appears to bow itself down, just like the flowers of Earth bow down, at the summer’s end.

And these are not merely obscure stars. These are among the biggest and brightest stars in the night heavens.

A popular Christian YouTuber devoted one of his videos to criticize some viewers who complained about his constant use of humor on his podcasts.

**His response was “So, am I supposed to be like some prude in a monastery, never smiling, stone-faced, sour, smug, humorless, thinking nothing’s funny?!”.**

And truth-be-told, if those extremely frigid qualities are what his critics actually insist that he embraces, then he has a very good and valid objection!

After all, isn’t it good to laugh?

And the four Gospels present our Lord as being warm, kind, merciful, gentle, etc…

That Master Deceiver always wants to create a “Straw Man”, in attempt to cast a dark shadow upon sincere Christians.

In other words, it makes Christianity look really unappealing when churchgoers behave judgmental, or stern, or some other unappealing way.

Who would have ever imagined that God had long ago placed the starry constellations in such a precise way, that they would become a heavenly portrait of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

It’s such an incredible idea, that those who do finally discover and confirm these signs for his or her own self, they will no doubt continually marvel at this heavenly gift right up to the time when Christ appears in the clouds of glory!

“WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM!”

But in addition to the sheer wonder of it all, they give God’s people confidence that the Way that He is now wanting them to go has been clearly marked out by these heavenly signposts!

Yes, just as that star long ago guided the wise men from the East to the fore-promised Messiah, these “signs in the Sun, Moon, and stars” are now guiding wise men today, to the long-awaited Return of the Son of Man! (see Luke 21:25)

And so, that first star 2,000 years ago was a forerunner of Arcturus, as this great star now guides its sons (and daughters) in these last moments.

On the morning of that fearful day, Lot, tried to warn his sons-in-law to flee from the wrath to come!

.

But they thought he was just joking!

.

Listen… “And Lot went out,

and spake unto his sons in law,

which married his daughters,

and said, Up, get you out of this place;

for the LORD will destroy this city.

But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.”

Genesis 19:14

Yes, perhaps Lot was the type who enjoyed a good gag, previous to this solemn moment!

After all, why else would his sons-in-law conclude his was merely joking?

IMPENDING JUDGMENT WARNING!

But also, we who are trying to warn this world of the impending Judgment of God, should never mingle our straight testimony with humor and foolish talk!

We just don’t want to give an uncertain trumpet call!

Salvation is a very critically life & death matter!

The eternal destiny of souls is hanging in the balance!

And our day-by-day behavior must reveal our message of warning, “to flee from the wrath to come!”

“BE…SWIFT TO HEAR, SLOW TO SPEAK”

Now before we get too far into the main point of this discussion, we must look at one aspect of joking and jesting, which often becomes sin in those who engage in such ungodly behavior.

.

The Bible says… “Wherefore, my beloved brethren,

let every man be swift to hear,

slow to speak, slow to wrath:”

James 1:19

.

The very nature of jesting requires a quick, clever response, giving the jester very little time to consider what he or she is saying!

.

And so, jesting, quite often makes light of a comment which might have been an opportunity to speak in a tender, loving, Christlike manner.

.

Or by making a rapid response, the jester might say something which is offensive.

WHY DO SPONTANEOUS JOKES HAPPEN?

So how is it that some people are so gifted in this area that they can just pop off one spontaneous joke after another?

Ephesians 2:2 reveals a very unpopular truth…

What most of us are not aware of, is, that just like a gossiper, Satan also whispers into the ear of the jester, giving them something to say.

A gossiper is seldom lacking in gossip to say about somebody else.

And likewise, the jester is seldom lacking a joke or a jest or a quip.

But if only the spiritual curtains could be pulled back, evil angels would be seen, orchestrated some morsel of gossip, or some little joke or jest!

SOME VERY GOOD NEWS!

Now there is some very Good News in the midst of all this bad news!

Yes, if we have been used by Satan in the past, there is much hope for the future!

Yes, the Lord can turn our failure into victory and transform our life of sin into our testimony of God’s love and mercy!

And God can deliver us from such overpowering habits, such gossiping or as this pleasure of the mind called “joking”, “jesting”.

.

Oh yes, it may take much resistance to finally get Satan to cease from whispering these jests in our ears!

But we have a commission to warn the world of the coming Day of God!

And only a loving, Christlike character will allow Christ to work in us and through us, to sound the trumpet, that the great Day of God has finally arrived!

Have you heard about such neo-pagan celebrations as, “The Burning Man Festival”?

For about a week, thousands congregate together in the desert of Nevada to hold a very energetic convocation dedicated to, well, uh, dedicated to reviving paganism.

.

ANARCHY CELEBRATED

.

Oh yes, a microcosmic communal mini-society is constructed out there, governed by supposed anarchy, but made possible by the voluntary self-imposed civility of the attendees

(if they continued longer than a week, their well-behaved and orderly conduct would probably begin to devolve into a total lawless mess!).

.

But on the last day of this great fest, a giant statue of a man is set on fire, symbolizing the pagan human sacrifices once performed by the more primitive cultures of centuries past.

THE DUMBING DOWN OF SOCIETY

**But why should this mock-pagan-celebration have any relevance and significance to our modern-day culture?**

Well, if you haven’t noticed, it seems as if our present-day society is being “dumbed down” in a number of areas of life.

MANY SPOKES IN THAT WHEEL

So, what happened?

If mankind was created by God to be so intelligent, noble, and morally upright, why did some groups or individuals seemingly devolve?

Well, just look at this current neo-pagan movement now occurring in our society.

But The Burning Man Festival is just one spoke in the giant multi-spoke wheel of this modern-day devolutionary movement.

DUMBING DOWN OF SCHOOLS

For example, one major university has just announced that it is eliminating such classes as history, philosophy, and other courses dealing with higher thought.

And there is even now a giant push, by socialists, to actually rewrite history altogether!

Still other universities no longer tolerate freedom of speech.

Some high-school districts are wanting to eliminate higher math courses!

.

But this is just another spoke in that wheel of devolution.

CRUDE, PAGAN MUSIC AND CHANTS

Another element in this paganistic downward spiral is the “music” industry.

The great Renaissance (reawakening) movement in centuries-past brought higher learning and elevated music into society.

But this has now been largely replaced by very crude and repetitious music and warlike chants, featuring lyrics dealing mostly with the baser human functions, body orifices, as well as drug-use and wanton whoredom.

And just look at television and Internet!

The great literary works of yesteryear have greatly been replaced by TV dramas which often capitalize on pride, murder, revenge, lust, greed, hate, and other animal-like behaviors.

And Internet is even worse, pushing the lowest, crudest, lewdest, and vilest and hateful videos, etc., steering young people away from anything elevating and ennobling!

RULE OF LAW DEAD?

And lawmakers, and governments are now beginning to ignore the rule of law, replacing it with mob rule.

Even today’s social media has become the breeding ground for angry mobs!

Crude religions are moving in and taking over the great societies which once lovingly and enthusiastically embraced the Christian Reformation which promoted higher thought.

Candle-lighting, chants, rituals, etc., have replaced the higher thought necessary for inspired Bible study and communion via the Holy Spirit.

And even violent retaliation against rejecters of those false religions has replaced simple faith and belief.

And what about the rapidly declining morality of society?

In just a few decades, society has devolved into the low-level of ancient Sodom & Gomorrah!

BACK TO THE STONE-AGE?

Well, the list could go on and on.

But it seems as if Satan, for his own purposes, is now causing a reversal in mankind’s development leading, us back into the so-called “stone-age”.

Oh yes, there are still many highly civilized institutions such as the medical industry.

But just look around! More and more we are witnessing a return to face and body piercings with rings, tattoos and other pagan markings.

There has now become a perverted obsession with bodily orifices!

.

It’s a sign of the times. A return to pagan behavior.

JUDGMENTS NOW FALLING

God has been patient with the nations which once lovingly embraced the Christian Reformation.

But the day has finally come when His patience has ended!

And He has now allowed Satan to lay desolate these very Christ-rejecting societies!

So, what’s the Good News in all this?

Is there any redeemable aspect to all this cultural destruction?

Well, those who have some love for truth still in them, will stop, look around, and consider just how far mankind has devolved from things good, and wholesome, and upright, and noble.

And perhaps they will return to the Lord in hopes of finding deliverance from this increasingly dangerous societal decay.

And having that Salvation, they can begin to elevate their own thoughts with the higher thought and wisdom to be found only in God’s Word, the Bible!

7-STARS & 7-BOWLS OF WRATH

“And I saw another sign in heaven,

This above verse from Revelation is a direct reference to the Signs In Heaven, which God is just now graciously revealing.

**Notice that this above verse says… “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous“.**

If ever there was a great and marvelous sign in Heaven, this 7 Star Constellation seems to be just that!

And it is the easiest of all constellations to locate (excepting for those in the southernmost latitudes of the Earth who cannot see it).

It seems to stand alone in the northern sky, outshining any other constellation in the night heavens!

As for its significance, it is easy to see the message for which it was created to bring.

It looks like a bowl. A giant bowl!

And in the winter, it begins to slowly tip through the night, as if it is finally spilling out its contents upon the earth, as stated in Revelation… “And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial upon the earth” Revelation 16:2.

And so, it is not hard to see the message which this constellation presents.

In the summer it begins to slowly tip.

.

But in winter it does fully appear to pour out its contents upon the Earth.

An elderly gentleman was complaining to one of his fellow church-members about how sad he was because of his wife’s passing…

…”I’m going through a whole lot of sadness!

We had such a long and happy marriage together!

And now it’s all gone, and I’m all alone!”, he lamented to his friend.

And his friend correctly handled the situation by giving compassionate words of solace and comfort…

Because, not only will we find plenty of comforting words, but also, we will find many encouraging passages, designed to strengthen our faith-walk with Jesus.

For example, listen to the 23rd Psalm of David…“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want (lack nothing).” Verse 1

Right here in the very 1st verse is a great encouragement for grieving spouses!

It reveals that having a loving relationship with our compassionate Lord is all we really need for a social life!

And any social life beyond that relationship is just an extra piece of pie, so to speak!

In other words, our infinite heavenly Father is adequately capable of communing with our heart, throughout our each and every day!

Here is one of the greatest warnings against seeking after earthly riches, and yet one of the least heeded!

AFFLUENCE BRINGS DESTRUCTION

But why is this important? Why should we be content with such a meager existence, when so many in society are enjoying the world with all its many pleasures and interesting pursuits and proud career-choices?

Listen as Paul continues…

…”But they that will be rich

fall into temptation and a snare,

and into many foolish and hurtful lusts,

which drown men in destruction and perdition.”

1st Timothy 6:9

So here we see that riches will become the source of many temptations and snares, which eventually drown men in destruction and perdition!

And those who pursue affluence will one day awaken to discover that, “they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” v.10

.

FLEE FROM THE WRATH TO COME!

This above verse sounds much like God’s warning to Lot, on that fateful morning of Sodom’s Judgment Day… “But thou, O man of God, flee these things…” v.11

.

**Yes, just as Lot was told to, “Flee to the mountain”, we Christians are given very similar advice.**

WHERE DO WE FLEE?

But how do we flee? And where do we run?

.

Well, the very first thing for a Christian to do, is to make sure that Sodom & Gomorrah is not being directly piped into his or her home, via the television, Internet, radio, the printed-page, etc…!

.

And even the Christian who has an uncooperative spouse, that Christian can personally stop watching the TV, and continue to plead for the blessing of the Lord for the other wayward members of the home.

.

“REMEMBER LOT’S WIFE!”

.

The next thing for the Christian to do, is to quit thinking about moving to a more prosperous city, so as to secure a better job, or to enjoy more earthly pleasures!

.

You can just bet, the more affluent a city is, the more wickedness exists there!

.

And the more wickedness in any city, the greater will be Satan’s ability to corrupt you and/or your family members!

.

Remember Jesus’ warning to all of us… “Remember Lot’s Wife!” Luke 17:32

WICKEDNESS ABOUNDS IN THE CITIES

Don’t be fooled by outward appearances.

The more affluence in a city, the more artificial that everyday life is!

The more malls for your children to aimlessly wander through!

The more restaurants and stores to waste your money in!

The more unbelievers there are for you and your kids to become unequally yoked together with!

.

The more secular entertainments to influence you and your children!

.

The more friends to sell alcohol and drugs to your children!

.

The more sexually-charged men and women to lure you and/or your children!

.

The more expenses to drain your pockets, instead of giving to Christian ministries!

.

The more accustomed you and your children will become to sin, as you behold sin everywhere you go!

.

Yes, it would be better to live a simpler, less affluent life, than to enjoy the decadent affluence in a city filled with temptations and snares!

Mark Twain (and others) once made this following jest concerning the controversy surrounding the true authorship of the writings of Shakespeare… “No, Shakespeare wasn’t written by Shakespeare, but by another man of the same name!”

If only Twain had really understood the profundity of his jest, and the enormity of the truth behind it!

You see, Shakespeare didn’t really write Shakespeare! Oh yes, Shakespeare may have been the secretary who penned the words of those many volumes.

But it was in fact written by another man of the same name! And yet, that “other man” has authored many literary works under countless other pennames! He has even written under the penname, “Mark Twain”! (And no, we’re not speaking Twain’s actual name of Samuel Clemens.)

PLANET GIVEN TO LUCIFER

The big problem in this sad old world is that nobody wants to acknowledge, “the gigantic elephant in the room”, as the saying goes. Nobody wants to admit that this hellish world is ruled over by the Prince of Darkness, “the Man of Sin”!

The Apostle, Paul, refers to this “other man” as the “god of this world” in 2nd Corinthians 4:4. Jesus Himself referred to him as, “the “Prince of this World”. Isaiah referred to him as “the King of Babylon”.

.

The horrible reality is that, like it or not, this world was long ago given over to Lucifer, the greatest created being in all the universe! He took control long ago, when he spoke through a beautiful flying serpent back in the days of Eden.

“THE gOD OF THIS WORLD!”

2nd Corinthians 4:4

You see, this fallen world-system is the creation of Lucifer. He is “the god of this world.”

And as such, he has been allowed to fill his kingdom with many seemingly beautiful and wonderful creations in the various arts and sciences.

.

But because this super genius spirit-being fully understands that he must do his work under the cover of darkness, he has raised up various men through the ages to promote his arts and pseudo-sciences and ideologies.

.

And this works out very well! Because, by so-doing, mere men get the credit for creating these various productions, such as the writings of Shakespeare.

.

And these many creative works only bolster Man’s selfish pride.

NEBUCHADNEZZAR’S PRIDE

Take for instance, King Nebuchadnezzar. This man looked out on the glorious kingdom he had built and began to think he was pretty smart!

But God reduced him to a dumb beast for 7 years until Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged that it was actually God who allowed Satan and his fallen angels to build and create that magnificent kingdom of Babylon through Nebuchadnezzar!

.

And without God allowing Satan to work through Nebuchadnezzar, this mere human, Nebuchadnezzar, was nothing more than any other man.

.

But this kingdom of Satan, the world, is filled with many “Nebuchadnezzars”! Men like Shakespeare, and Twain, whom Satan raises up to become “Useful Pawns” in his grand deception against the unsuspecting inhabitants of this world!

NO PRAISE IN THE GRAVE!

Yes, Shakespeare has been elevated to almost a god-like status in this world. Too bad he’s not around to enjoy all the laud and praise heaped upon him, even to this very day!

No, Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Mozart, Einstein, and all the other so-called creative geniuses throughout history are now resting in their graves (their bodies now dust), waiting to be raised up on the great day of God’s final judgment, to answer for their lives of rebellion against Heaven.

And hopefully, each of these men turned to God, and repented of their sins prior to their death! If they did, then they will live forever in the presence of the true Creator!

WHO IS THAT MAN?

There was a popular little song back in the mid-Twentieth Century, that unknowingly asked a very profound question…

Listen… “Who put the bomp in the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?

Who put the bop in the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
Who put the dip in the dip da dip da dip?

Who was that man? I’d like to shake his hand

For those who are too young to remember this musical era, this song was praising the peculiar background singers who harmonized using such nonsensical words and phrases in so many of the love ballads of that day!

And contrary to popular opinion, this world is actually the kingdom of darkness, ruled over by the prince of darkness, the Devil. And those who live in this world are the loyal citizens of Satan’s kingdom!

“You mean to tell me that I worship Satan!?!”

No, I’m not telling you anything! I’m just relaying to you what God’s assessment of us is!

LUCIFER, THE WORLD’S GREATEST MUSICIAN!

**Now, back to this little song, “Who Put The Bop In The Bop Shoo Bop?” What we do not consider is that Satan was a master musician in Heaven!**

Yes, just listen to his musical abilities…

“Thus saith the Lord GOD;

You (Lucifer) seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty…

The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes

was prepared in thee in the day that you were created.

You are the anointed cherub that covers;”

**This reference to “tabrets and pipes” is a reference to his musical abilities.**

And this other verse, as well…

And so, these two passages make reference to Satan’s elaborate musical accomplishments: tabrets, pipes, violins. Lucifer was a veritable one-man-orchestra/choir!

LUCIFER: THE MAN BEHIND THE WORLD’S MUSIC

**And so, why should we be surprised that Satan, “the god of this world” is intimately involved in the affairs of the world of music?**

After all, Satan is no slacker!

.

And so, it should be no surprise that he is working very hard, behind the scenes, in producing the music of this world!

FALLING IN LUST

And it must give Satan great pleasure to produce the highly sensualized music which is being churned out today around the world!

Satan exults whenever he can make young people fall into romance and lust, through one of his songs!

And there is no shortage of sensual music today, both lyrically and musically. And much of today’s music is highly sexually-charged.

NOT GENUINE LOVE

.

All we need to do is to look at the statistics to know that most romantic relationships are not the result of genuine love.

.

True love is patient, gentle, forgiving, pure, righteous, and never gives up!

But the mere fact that 9 out of 10 romantic relationships eventually dissolve, only confirms that these episodes were not true love, but something less! Something from beneath, and not from above!

“IS THIS THE MAN (LUCIFER) THAT MADE THE NATIONS TO TREMBLE?”

So in answer to the burning question… “Just who was that man (who put the Bop in the Bop Shoo Bop?).”

Simple, it was Lucifer, the god of this sinful, selfish, and lustful world in which we live, and in which we are now being held captive!

Yes, God is still calling all those who are ready and willing to make an Exodus out of this Babylonian world!

And praise God that the door of mercy is still ajar, waiting for the last group of ex-patriots of this condemned planet to come aboard the Ark of Salvation, which is about to leave this planet enroute to the Celestial City of God!

So, why not rather come and live forever in a Land in which pure music and innocent laughter rings through the ever-winding valleys and echoes against the majestic mountains and everlasting hills?

**Here above, is revealed that Habakkuk’s vision thus prophesies, “for at the end it shall speak”.**

And the way God kept this vision hidden is two-fold:

First, it is written in allegorical language.

And second, only now are events unfolding which dramatically fulfill this prophecy.

Yes, this high-tech world can send images around the world in mere seconds, thus fulfilling Habakkuk’s allegorical description…

Yes, working through unsaved workers of iniquity, Satan has created a high-tech army, “swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves”.

Listen to this next verse regarding God’s people as the dwelling-place of God…

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?

Here we see that God’s great desire and purpose is to indwell within the hearts of humans: to fill them with His divine Spirit of unselfish love!

To make them His divine tabernacle!

So, in light of this horrific situation, just what can God’s people do to save themselves and their children?

Here we begin to discern that God’s people must go in these final hours, as it says in Habakkuk 2, “to walk upon mine high places.”

The only truly safe-haven for God’s people in these last moments is heavenly Zion…

Of course, this 144,000 is a spiritual, not a literal number.

And Mount Zion spoken of here is a spiritual mountain, not a literal mountain, even as it is written…

“And (God) hath raised us up together,

and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”

Putting these above three verses together it becomes more evident that Mount Zion is a spiritual mountain, “the heavenly Jerusalem” in which our hearts and souls abide, even while down here on earth!

In the wilderness wanderings, God set up the sanctuary service to be an illustration of the priesthood and atonement concerning Christ and His Church.

And it would be very advisable for each father to study the Books of Moses to get a clearer picture and insight into just what a solemn and holy office that he has been given by God!

Now having said all this, let’s just face reality!

There are many parents who, for one reason or another, simply cannot be with their children.

For the most part, this is true with many fathers.

But if that absentee fathers absolutely cannot be together with them, this does not mean that he cannot save their children!

.

No, just the opposite! When we realize that it is actually God Himself who does the saving, then we realize the great truth and promise, that, “With God, all things are possible!” Matthew 19:26

“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

Hebrews 4:11

If a father has the ability to return to be with his family, then, by all means, do so!

But if that’s not possible, then what God is mostly wanting from that absentee parent (and/or grandparent) is a fully dedicated life of laboring: laboring to enter into His Rest, that is!

Yes, absentee parents can bring infinite blessings into the lives of their children, even though they cannot be there in person!

First, every father must begin to fulfill his or her role as priest of the home. This means that the Believer must constantly purify his or her own heart, even as Christ is pure!

And even as faithful Enoch, who walked with God, so too, must the absentee parent walk, even as Jesus walked! (see 1st John 2:6 & 3:3)

Turn off the TV. Shut off the secular radio, as well as the secular Internet!

Study my Bible as if I’m cramming for my college finals!

Pray without ceasing!

Listen to uplifting words, music, nature sounds, or whatever else will elevate the heart and mind!

And if there’s a chance of reconciliation, go for it! Even if it requires going through much tribulation!

The Iron & Clay:

“Politics of Hate!”

The Book of Daniel speaks about King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a great statue, made of various metals.

.

This statue has been interpreted as representing the various kingdoms which would rule the earth through history.

.

Now while the head of the statue in his dream was made of gold, representing Babylon, this statue devolved into lessor metals until our day, down to the feet made of iron mingled with clay (clay, not even being a metal!).

THINGS GETTING WORSE, NOT BETTER!

Well, to put it very concisely, this statue was signifying that Mankind was not getting better, not “evolving”, but actually “devolving”, growing worse and worse with each new ruling kingdom.

From the head of gold to the arms and breast of silver to the loins of brass to the legs of iron to the feet of iron mingled with clay: a downward regression!

This accurate prophetic prediction is just another proof that the Bible is trustworthy!

Now, it is very interesting that Scripture says concerning the iron and clay…

“And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided…

So, this above passage, it would seem, speaks of our time today as a period in history when the people are divided and separated, and Christians will “mingle with the seed of Men”. (unbelievers).

Yes, as we look around this fallen world, we begin to notice that various people-groups are separating themselves.

There is a growing division between the various ideologies of Man!

Some call for “diversity”!

Others call for “racism”!

Still others call for religious supremacy!

Still others call for gender supremacy!

And many are steeped in political division!

Yes, it’s a very divided world today, wouldn’t you agree?

POLITICS & THE CHURCH-ELECT

Well, today’s devotional will focus on political division!

.

And to keep today’s devotional from getting too broad, let’s just keep this topic focused on how all this concerns the Christian community.

And so, the great question that we Christians must ask ourselves is this: “Do I really want to get myself mired down by all this political hate and strife?

.

“Do I really want to allow my time and attention to be diverted from my commission from God, to become transformed into the image of Jesus?”

A FORM OF GODLINESS WHICH DENIES GOD’S SPIRIT

Oh yes, there’s an element of godliness in today’s political ideologies!

One group claims to have mercy and compassion!

And the other claims to have justice and righteousness and morality!

Yet, as the Bible warns, these ideologies have, “a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away ” 2nd Timothy 3:5

.

But this above passage warns that it is a counterfeit goodness!

Not the real thing!

Void of God’s Holy Spirit!

Deadly and deceiving!

And so, as this above passage concludes, “from such, turn away!”

**And so, dear-soul-for-whom-Christ-died, why would we even want to be involved in all the hatred between these two groups?**

And there are these elements of godliness, which often come so close to true Christianity!

But we must not be deceived!

**They are merely a “form of godliness”, but not the real thing, being void of God’s Spirit!**

The Time of Trouble!

.

Part 1:

“Armageddon In The Sky!”

.

There has been no lack of enthusiastic speculation about the last great battle called Armageddon!

And many are looking over there in Palestine, to the literal place called Megiddo for this great battle to occur.

.

And isn’t it interesting that such a big reaction is made over just one little verse which speaks directly about Armageddon.

.

Listen… “For they are the spirits of devils,

working miracles,

which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world,

to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Behold, I come as a thief.

Blessed is he that watcheth,

and keepeth his garments,

lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

Revelation 16:14-16

.

Now if we were to take this verse literally, we would have to agree that, indeed, this battle takes place in literal Israel!

THE WHOLE WORLD GATHERED TOGETHER

One very big problem with that, is that six or seven billion people could not possibly be gathered together in literal Megiddo!

.

Remember, it says,

“…THE WHOLE WORLD…

into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

Revelation 16:14, 16

.

Now some Bible teachers say that this gathering to this battle must be accomplished by means of television or Internet.

.

But there are hundreds of millions of people living in places without television or Internet, much less even electricity!

.

So there has to be another explanation!

THE VALLEY OF DECISION

.

But as with so much of the Bible, and with so much of the Book of Revelation, God presents spiritual truths, veiled in types and symbols and allegories.

Yes, the Day of the Lord will be upon the whole earth. And the whole world will be gathered together in Armageddon!

Listen to the prophet Joel…

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision:

for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.”

Joel 3:14

.

**So, Joel is prophesying of the Day of the Lord, as if it is a decision. A “Valley of Decision”!**

.

Therefore, this Valley of Decision is a spiritual concept, and not a literal place.

VALLEY OF DECISION IN THE SKY!

But wait!

Maybe this Valley of Decision is a literal place!

Maybe, just maybe, we’ve been looking in the wrong direction!

Maybe we need to do as Luke 21:25, 28 commands…

“And there shall be signs in the sun,

and in the moon, and in the stars…

And when these things begin to come to pass,

then look up, and lift up your heads;

for your redemption draweth nigh.”

In other words, the Winter Constellations depict Armageddon, the battle of that “great Day of God”!

But the fact is, the Valley of Decision will separate the wheat from the tares, and the goats from the sheep!

Yes, the Valley of Decision will make manifest to all the world, just who it is that serves Christ, and who it is that serves Him not!

Time To Get Out of Dodge?

**The crude, yet oft-used expression, “Time to get out of Dodge!”, was coined back in the 1970’s from a television show based on that infamous town, Dodge City.**

In Dodge City, Old West gunfighters were made legends by ambitious and imaginative storywriters.

**And people today commonly say, “It’s time to get out of Dodge”, applying it to exiting some particular bad or undesirable situation.**

WORLD NOW IN CRISIS MODE!

And getting out of “Dodge” seems so appropriate, considering the current state of affairs in this crazy and chaotic world!

Yes, there doesn’t need to be much observation to realize that things aren’t going so well in today’s very troubled and hopeless world!

Do we even need to list the various catastrophes and abominations going on all around us today?

But the real question is, “Why is the Lord allowing all this horrible stuff to happen?”

So, Jesus, in essence, is saying here that Heaven has declared war on this, Lucifer’s antichrist world-system of sinful selfishness!

Thus, Habakkuk’s vision here, is for the last days of this, and is complaining of God’s people being surrounded by the wicked, to the point that wrong and bad judgment is proceeding forth from us!

And so, just what is the bottom line to Habakkuk’s prophecy?

Well, listen again to Habakkuk…

“And the LORD answered me, and said,

but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:

And so, this above continuation of Habakkuk’s prophetic vision gives us the warning that at the end, this vision shall speak.

And when it speaks…we are to run!

God originally created this world to be a beautiful home for Mankind.

Yet, when we fell from grace, this world began to change in many ways.

Nature, to a certain extent, began to take on some changes.

Many creatures and plants, etc., gradually took on dangerous aspects.

CUTTLEFISH: THE ULTIMATE IMPOSTORS!

One of the most amazing creatures ever created is the Cuttlefish!

Actually, it is not a fish, but a type of mollusk, like a squid, or an octopus.

One reason why this creature is so incredible, is that it can just glance at its environment and instantly change its body to imitate that environment.

.

It can even instantly grow leaf-like appendages to imitate certain sea-weeds, waiting for its victim, or to hide from an enemy!

This little creature is nothing short of amazing!

CUTTLEFISH: SYMBOL OF SATAN

Well, God has created this little predator to give us further insight into the inner working of the kingdom of Satan.

Certainly, Satan and his unseen minions love to make themselves invisible!

That way, they can work their misery and woe upon this unsuspecting world, without its inhabitants becoming alarmed, causing us to rebel against Satan’s kingdom, as we flee to God for refuge!

(As this above little 26 second video shows, the Cuttlefish also has the ability to paralyze his potential victims, by using his strobe-light effect! Amazing!)

SATAN HAS ERASED HIMSELF

Yes, this world has the deceptive appearance of being void of any spiritual realm.

And we go about our day un-cognizant that we are surrounded by angels, both good and evil, fighting over each man, woman, and child.

But as we look at this Cuttlefish, and how he waits in hiding, until he pounces upon his unsuspecting prey, we can make another earthly analogy!

“Even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time!”

In other words, the “man of sin” is already here, and has been here all along, deceiving the world ever since the 1st Century!

Yes, every human who has not yet become saved is an antichrist deceiver, even as 2nd John 1:7 informs us…

“For many deceivers are entered into the world,

who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.

This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”

And so, when 2nd Thessalonians 2:3 reveals that “the man of sin be revealed” in these last days, it is not only speaking of Satan, and his fallen angels, but also of every human who still serves “the god of this world”, Lucifer, now called Satan!

THE EVOLUTION HOAX

After all, for many decades, the Master-Deceiver, “the god of this world”, has been indoctrinating our children into atheism in the public schools! (see 2nd Corinthians 4:4)

Yes, Satan, uses erring men to perpetuate the false science called “Evolution”, quite often using myths and hoaxes as proof of this devilish-designed ideology.

Yes, the cuttlefish can teach us a great deal about the nature of evil, as it disguises itself, while waiting for its next victim.

7 STARS IMITATE THE CROSS OF ORION

This phenomenon begins in late October, in the pre-dawn hours. It then begins a little earlier each night.

**You must locate Orion, when it is mid-sky, between east and west.**

You’ll be facing southward most likely, unless you are far south.

Try to imagine it as a Cross on a steep hill.

**The 3-star belt of Orion becomes the crest of the hill.**

**The 3 very faint stars that make up Orion’s head become the very top of the Cross.**

**Next, locate the 7 Stars Constellation. This 7 Stars Constellation is seen by facing northward.**

It stands upright a little later in the night.

**Eventually, Orion will lay down and no longer be seen as an uplifted Cross!**

**Beginning in November, the 7 Stars (AKA Big Dipper) can be seen as a Cross a little bit later in evening.**

A ‘HIGHWAY TO HELL’ STORY…

.

One night, the TV in their electronics department of a big-box store was airing a rock band in concert.

.

This lead guitarist ran up a stairway and when he got to the top it looked as though he was electrocuted. Sparks flew in all directions!

.

And then he quickly descended, still playing, still getting hit by random sparks all the way down this fire-escape-like stairway, as if he was being chased down the stairs by some unknown entity.

.

When he reached the bottom, he disappeared.

.

Then in a moment, the stage floor opened and up came this cage with this same guitarist inside the cage (still playing).

.

But now he had horns like a devil.

.

And all through this performance, the camera often panned the audience in the stadium, who were more than just a little enthusiastic, to say the least!

.

AMBASSADORS OF HELL

.

Now this devotional is not trying to promote the idea of anyone listening to this type of music. This is the Devil’s world, after all!

.

But this highly choreographed song was making a rather overt statement, which was hard to miss!

.

The stairway in the skit represented the path to Heaven.

.

**Him getting burnt by sparks as he reached the top of the stairs obviously represents having a bad experience in church.**

.

Him getting chased down the stairs by those random sparks represents…well…getting chased out of church.

.

And of course, after he later ascends up from Hell in a cage, with the devil-horns…well…this speaks for itself.

.

But this musically choreographed scenario is nothing new, of course…

…just look at this very old picture showing two pathways…

…one leads Heavenward, and the other path leads, obviously, to Hell.

HELL ON EARTH! NOW!

And this rock group instinctively knows that you don’t need to die in order to go to Hell.

**You just live for the Devil, and you’ve already arrived in Hell: i.e., spiritual darkness!**

Now that’s really something, if you think about it!

**A group of unbelievers instinctively realize that Hell exists right here and right now on this not-so-terra-firma planet!**

Now this is even more amazing when one considers that many Christians are not even aware of this fact, that Hell begins right here on Earth and extends to the grave!

SOMETIMES EVEN THE DEVIL GETS IT RIGHT!

Perhaps one of the points to this story is that while they were doing this skit, these pagan rocksters were unwittingly presenting a Bible truth, which is likewise written in the heavens!

**And this Valley of Decision Constellation which lies between the Summer and Winter Constellations gives basically the same skit! But it is written in Heaven!**

.

**So, this sketch shows this third mountain (right) with a road that goes straight down to the Dragon (the Devil).**

In essence, this is the Broad Way to Hell! (“The Highway to Hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.” Matthew 7:13 NLT).

SATAN’S COUNTERFEITS

But Satan is that ancient, unseen master of confusion and counterfeiting.

.

He really knows how to deceive and prejudice the people!

.

But of course, in the instance of this rock group, Satan was just counterfeiting what God had already inscribed long ago, in the heavens, back in the days of Creation.

.

“NICE” PEOPLE!

.

Well, all this being translated into everyday life, there are many persons who decide for one reason or other, that they do not wish to serve God.

.

Or perhaps, they simply fall back into a worldly lifestyle.

.

And just like that satanic skit portrays, these dissatisfied persons, unknowingly become tools of the Devil and are then unwittingly used by him to draw away many others from God’s sheepfold.

And you don’t have to be a Devil-worshipping rock musician, to be a tool of the Devil.

Even some nice, clean-cut, well-behaved members of the community, can deceive fellow church-members, simply by pursuing the things of the world, thus becoming a bad example to fellow church-members.

And just as this rock band is doing the Devil’s bidding in their career in pagan-worship, the rest of us likewise are the Devil’s helpers, whether we know it or not, prior to our conversion to Christianity (and sometimes after, too!)

GOOD NEWS!

But the Good News is, that it is still the day of Salvation!

There’s still time for us to repent (including those rocksters)!

And so, there is still time for every one of us to begin walking that upward pathway which leads to everlasting life!

**Look at the slope of this third mountain, and notice that it goes straight down to the Dragon Constellation.**

This slope belongs to the constellation commonly called Pisces.

Doesn’t it almost look like the Dragon is towing this Mountain?

**It almost looks like the Dragon is transporting this false mountain from the south…from Hell.**

.

And he has pulled it northward…next to these other two mountains.

This would almost seem like a comical idea…if it weren’t for the destruction and death and woe caused by Satan for many-a-millennium.

Just listen to this verse… “Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:” Isaiah 5:18.

So God, it seems, has created this constellation group to present this fearful concept!

THE BROAD WAY

**But there is a second meaning to this long line of stars from this Destroying Mountain down to the Dragon Constellation?**

It would remind one of a highway. But what kind of highway? Need there be any further explanation?

**They say that a picture paints a thousand words.**

Well, this picture that God has placed in the night sky paints a very poignant portrait indeed!

**This represents that “broad way which leads to destruction”.**

Eternal Torment?

Part 4:

“Impossible Idea!”

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen?

to loose the bands of wickedness,

to undo the heavy burdens,

and to let the oppressed go free,

and that ye break every yoke?”

Isaiah 58:6

Does the church-doctrine named “Eternal Torment” make any sense in the light of this above passage?

.

**Quite the opposite of God making people suffer eternally, this above verse instead, tells us to “*undo the heavy burdens, and*** let the oppressed go free”!

.

So then, why would God engage us for a lifetime of discipleship, trying to teach us to NOT oppress others, and then turn around and lock up 90% or more of the world’s inhabitants in a fiery netherworld torture chamber, to be tormented endlessly?

.

Does that make any sense!?!

BIBLE EASILY MISINTERPRETED

The problem is, that God has written the Bible in such a way that it can easily be misunderstood!

.

Listen… “As also in all his (Paul’s) epistles,

speaking in them of these things;

in which are some things hard to be understood,

which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest,

as they do also the other scriptures,

unto their own destruction.”

2nd Peter 3:16

.

Yes, such doctrines as “Eternal Torment” are the result of unsanctified minds presuming to become the teachers of the Bible!

BREAKING EVERY YOKE!

.

Today’s signature passage, Isaiah 58:6, reveals a God who hates to see humans oppressing one another!

.

But God also says, in Isaiah 58:6, that He hates seeing humans shouldered with heavy burdens!

And He hates to see humans suffering under heavy yokes!

.

And so, considering all the Bible passages which speak of Hell as the grave, why do so many insist that God has some eternal netherworld torture chamber?

.

It just doesn’t make any sense!

.

It totally goes against His Character!

.

NOT PROPERLY BALANCING THE SCRIPTURES

Oh yes, there is that parable of a rich man in flames of torment.

.

And Revelation 14 does speak of the smoke of their torment rising up for ever and forever.

But those allegories must be tempered with so many other passages which say things like this declaration by the suffering man, Job…

“Why died I not from the womb?…

For now should I have lain still and been quiet,

I should have slept: then had I been at rest…”

Job 3:11, 13

.

Why in the world would God allow Job to speak of death as sleep, if God instead, eternally torments all the Lost Ones?

.

You simply cannot arrive at final truth using some verses while ignoring others which you don’t like!

.

You cannot ignore or reject verses which don’t align with your church-doctrine!

“There the wicked cease from troubling”

Listen again…

“There the wicked cease from troubling;

and there the weary be at rest.

There the prisoners rest together;

they hear not the voice of the oppressor.

The small and great are there;

and the servant is free from his master.”

This passage doesn’t make a stitch of sense if their souls are instead being tormented for ever and ever and ever!

SOMETIMES AN ABSURD NOTION!

The fact is, if 90% or more of all humans who have ever lived will be eternally tormented, then the Gospel would not really be very good news for the vast majority who have lived on the earth, now would it?

Yes, they tell us that we won’t even give a second thought about our lost loved ones, nor all those billions of Lost Ones who are being endlessly tortured through the ceaseless ages!

.

They tell us that we will live in eternal bliss, ***“And you won’t even care* *because they’re merely getting what they deserve!”***

.

No friends, God does not have a cruel chamber of horrors in the lower regions of the earth.

Nor is He the kind of Lord who mercilessly torments all those who reject His love!

“O give thanks unto the LORD;

for He is good;

for His mercy endureth forever!”

What we need to do, is to begin looking at the Bible with an open mind, and fresh eyes, just like those noble Bereans, who “received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11

…now all of a sudden begin to transform themselves into authoritarian police-states!

*Governments committing financial suicide.

*State and federal leaders applauding hateful and violent mobs as they torch entire city blocks!

*Governments telling their citizenry that they can decide to be any gender they wish to be!

*Schools teaching/encouraging the sin of Sodom to little children!

*Violent and dangerous criminals being suddenly released from prison, only to quickly return to further crime and even murder!

Allowing looting to go almost completely unchecked!

Cancelling higher learning in the name of “social equity”!

These and many other senseless acts-of-madness can only be comprehended in the light of Bible prophecy!

THE INTERNET DRIVING YOUNG PEOPLE INTO MADNESS!

With the advent of the Internet, the world has witnessed a rapid devolution of humanity. Especially among young people!

Yes, young people are literally obsessed with their smart-phones, filling their minds with the vilest of videos/music, and insane worldviews!

And now, with the latest virtual reality capabilities, the pleasures derived from sin have become so greatly enhanced that it seems Matthew 24:22 is beginning to find its fulfillment…

“And except those days should be shortened,

there should no flesh be saved:

but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”

And those who lost or gave up the riches and glories of this world, and instead, lived self-denyingly here for the sake of following Jesus, will delight themselves in the eternal heavenly, spiritual riches which will be lavished upon them in the wonder-filled world-to-come!

And those who were weighed down under the heavy burdens of this life will rejoice to discover that everlasting life will be a brand new adventure each and every morning!

From the days of Creation, the Spirit of Christ has been preaching the message of Salvation to each and every soul who has ever lived.

Just as the above passage states… “[Jesus] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:9.

Even in the days of Noah, God’s Spirit has been knocking on the door of each imprisoned heart…

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:

if any man hear My voice, and open the door,

I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.”

Revelation 3:20.

So, Jesus stands at the door of a person’s heart, knocking.

.

But Man tries to be so busy, so as to hopefully keep that nagging little voice quiet.

Instead of being like the proverbial lemmings, walking over the cliff to our certain doom, why won’t we simply turn to the One who offers a way of escape out of this dying and hopeless planet?

And by so-doing, He will give us a new heart and new desires, far more wonderful than any so-called treasure this present world could offer.

ALL ROADS LEAD TO “ROME” (EXCEPT ONE!)

So, the point to today’s devotional is this: the world has many doors in which a person can walk through.

.

Some doors will take a person into a life of misery and pain.

Some doors will lead to a life of selfish pleasures and earthly riches.

Other doors may even offer a life filled with some of the more noble aspirations and humanitarian efforts.

.

There are many doors a person can choose. Or so it seems.

.

But there is only one door which pays off with eternal riches.

.

All the other doors will ultimately lead to death.

.

“All roads lead to Rome“, as the saying goes…except for one

.

“ALL IS MEANINGLESS!”

.

Oh, death may not come for many years down the line.

.

But it will come sooner or later.

.

And once death does come, everything that happened here will all be forgotten.

.

And when those who cared about you die, then it won’t even matter that you ever lived at all!

.

Your memory will be long forgotten… “Vanity of vanities, says the preacher,…all is meaningless”.

WHICH DOOR WILL YOU CHOOSE?

And so, we watch a loved one receive a diploma and we hear about all the different open doors that lie waiting for that Graduate to walk through.

**We would only hope and pray that our loved one will choose a door that will lead to Life Everlasting.**

.

And after he or she enters that door, then whatever occupation they should choose, it will hopefully be one that allows that Grad time, energy, and an environment conducive to devoting his or her life to the Lord.

“AS THE FLOWER OF THE FIELD”

**And so, just as that Flower of the Field Constellation appears to bow down in the sky, so too, all our earthly dreams and aspirations eventually crumble, as surely as a castle made of sand!**

But for those who wisely choose to follow Jesus as one of his Disciples, whether they are a college grad, or even a high school dropout, there is a door to enter which leads to a life that never fades…that never crumbles…which never falls away, as does the Flower of the Field.

**There is another remarkable aspect to the Orion Phenomena, which has to do with Orion the Reaper.**

This is best seen when the winter Bible Constellations are in the west. if one stands, facing west.

**It is at this time that Orion, the Dragon and the Glorious Horse are beginning to sink into the western horizon.**

Daily Devotional, Year 2 – JANUARY 12

The 6th Head of the Beast:

.

“Is Atheism a Religion?”

.

Many are now asking the question, “Is atheism a religion?”

.

Turn on various talk shows, both secular and Christian, and you might hear this question bandied about.

.

And what would be the evidence that atheism is a religion, a charge which most atheists would probably vehemently refute?

“Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils”

Psalm 106:37

.

Now, just one example of a Bible truth, to confirm that atheism is a religion.

.

This confirmation is seen when the “right” to kill one’s unborn child was put in jeopardy.

.

This, of course, created a political firestorm!

.

The leaders, as well as many of their followers, were driven, sometimes, to the brink of insane rage over the thought that this heinous practice might be outlawed!

.

And amazingly, some of their leaders actually made the statement that killing one’s own child-in-the-womb, is “a sacred right!”

“And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech (a pagan god)”

Murdering your own child is a “sacred right”!?

Not really.

Actually, such an outlandish claim shouldn’t surprise anyone.

After all, the Bible recorded the fact that sacrificing children was a common practice amongst the heathen nations.

For example, it was common ritual to make such a sacrifice to the god, Molech. (See Jeremiah 32:35, etc…)

And so, if atheism is indeed, a religion, then what we are witnessing today may well be just a modern-day version of all those heathen cultures…

…cultures who sacrificed their children to their pagan gods (and ultimately to their true god and father, Satan!)

Oh yes, today’s gods are no longer made just of wood, stone or precious metals.

But even taking Satan completely out of the equation, many voices on TV, radio, and Internet are convinced that atheism is the worship of “self”.

Yes, both religious and secular spokesmen are convinced that atheism is a religion of “self-worship”.

And to listen to social media, it becomes very evident that many atheists believe themselves to be the Supreme Being of the universe…

…that is, the Supreme Being of their own little universe!

.

There are many videos being posted each day which expose atheists as being completely absorbed in some sort of proud and arrogant self-absorbed boastings!

“God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness”

2nd Thessalonians 2:11, 12

Another confirmation of this “I AM GOD” phenomenon is now manifesting itself in the phenomenon called “gender fluidity”…

…this is when a man, woman, or even a little child can declare his or herself to be another gender than that which they were born with.

.

And such deluded individuals (probably a product of current-day narcissism movement) are even beginning to declare their own self-titles, demanding that others address them by that self-declared gender-title!

.

And of course, being the 6th head of Antichrist, atheism is the religion of “Man”, the highest order of existence (as far as they are concerned).

.

Yes, as was already stated, the number, “6”, represents man as the supreme ruler.

.

And so, the next logical step would be to declare oneself as the supreme ruler over his or her own life and existence.

NARCISSISM, THE WORSHIP OF SELF

Many media pundits today, see all this self-worship as being extreme narcissism.

.

And this non-biblical term (narcissism) may indeed apply to this current-day phenomenon.

.

And yes, one cannot be anything less than astonished to witness such proud, selfish, and defiant videos now being posted on social media sites!

.

To see and hear such incredibly foolish boasting would be laughable if it weren’t so tragic to think that this once-great society has devolved into such unthinkable sink-hole of foolishness!

5th, 6th, 7th HEADS OF THE REVELATION 13 ANTICHRIST BEAST

This dreadful and insane state of affairs almost makes us wish that the 6th head of Antichrist would give sway to the 7th head (apostate Protestantism).

But alas, such a transference of power would probably be even more dreadful!

.

After all, one glance at the torture, Bible-burnings, and other similar atrocities carried out by the apostate churches during the Dark Ages of Europe, will make any true Christian tremble at the thought of another era of church-driven tyranny!

So, this above passage from Revelation reveals that all unsaved humans are worshippers of Satan.

So, from the very start, atheists, like every one of us, if unsaved, are religious.

**Therefore, this whole notion that atheism somehow is not a religion, is quickly dispelled by the fact that they (atheists) are worshipers of…*“the great dragon…called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world…Revelation 12:9 & 13:4***

Oh yes, they may not realize that they, along with the rest of the world, worship Satan.

But their ignorance of these truths is what atheism, the 6th Head of the Beast is all about!

They’ve been deceived!

And before long, this nitro-glycerin chemistry produces a 120-minute movie-thriller, which keeps audiences clamoring for a sequel or two!

.

Well, all this is made to look really great on the silver-screen!

.

And with the addition of edgy music, glamorous “stars”, etc., this larger-than-life extravaganza seems exciting and romantic, and well, maybe even an obtainable dream to so many gullible moviegoers!

SATAN: “GOD OF THIS WORLD”

2nd Corinthians 4:4

**But the fact is, “The god of this world” is the true, behind-the-scenes movie producer in Hollywood!**

As a matter of fact, God had created many things in Nature, so as to teach us all about sin’s deceptive ways!

THE FEMME-FATALE LIGHTNING BUG

**Take for instance, the little seductress, the Photuris, commonly known as the femme fatale lightning bugs of North America.**

These alluring little lightning bugs can imitate the mating-signals of light of female fireflies!

Yes, just imagine this happy-go-lucky little firefly, joyfully buzzing about the summer night air, shining his light for all the world to see!

.

But then, he spots that unmistakable love-light signal which promises romance!

.

And off he goes, straight into her deadly arms!

.

And in a few seconds, he is no more! Gobbled up!

**Yes, just like those wonderful little fireflies, the Christian is to let his light shine for all the world to see!**

But the last thing Heaven’s enemies want, is for the Christian to be a beacon of soul-saving light for all the world to behold!

And the Bible tells us that there will be false shepherds, so-called “ministers of righteousness”, who will, “if possible, deceive even the very Elect”!

And so, no one should be surprised when some femme-fatale comes across that Heaven-bound Pilgrim’s pathway.

WHO CONVERTS WHO?

Perhaps, in the beginning, that naive one thought to himself, “Well, maybe I can eventually convert her! After all, she promised to faithfully go to church with me, if we marry!”

Well as we all know, the only one who gets converted, is the Christian…converted back into the world!

.

And after a few years, his life is so hopelessly devoted to providing her with all the accouterments of this life, all in attempt to satisfy the insatiable desires of his prosperity-focused soulmate!

.

(Of course, this above scenario is equally true (and maybe even more so), when a female Christian becomes unequally yoked with an unbelieving male!)

WORLD TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER HEAVEN!

And so, Jesus gets put on the backburner!

The world takes precedence over the things of Heaven!

Didn’t I once believe in Heaven and all the wonderful glories of everlasting life?”

LIFE FROM THE DEAD!

Yes, there is a very wonderful and merciful light which shines down from Heaven, sending bright beams of mercy even into this dark and hopeless world!

**Yes, the Christian who has been deceived by Hell’s impostors, has a God in Heaven who (if He chooses to), can bring him (or her) back from death and destruction!**

.

And the Eternal One, who was Himself, brought back to life from the dead, can now bring back those who have been gobbled up by one of Hell’s many counterfeit light-bearers!

And once revived, that redeemed one will finally realize that a relationship with Jesus is much more fulfilling, more faithful, and more joyful than any earthly relationship could ever be!

Many people are perplexed about all the killing that went on in the Old Testament.

Most Bible readers simply cannot understand why the Old Testament is so violent!

And what makes this even more confusing, is that the New Testament reveals how non-violent Jesus was!

Oh yes, many theologians rightly teach that the Old Testament brought out the justice side of God, while the New Testament brought out His mercy side.

But there was another really important message that God wants us to learn from so much of the killing in the Old Testament.

and destroy all their pictures,

and destroy all their molten images,

and quite pluck down all their high places…”

Yes, God is trying to get our attention.

That’s right!

SHARING HEAVENLY MANNA…

The Bible clearly commands to avoid world-loving fellowship with unbelievers…

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:

for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?…

Wherefore come out from among them,

and be ye separate, saith the Lord,

and touch not the unclean [thing]”

**When evangelizing, we are trying to get them to eat of the Bread of Heaven.**

When fellowshipping with unbelievers, we are partaking of their worldly fare: hence we are as though eating the unclean meat of sin!

Of course, there will be many times when a Christian cannot avoid a certain amount of fellowship with unbelievers: family situations and work situations, etc….

During these get-togethers, the Christian will sometimes be sorely tempted to engage in ungodly conversation.

Afterwards, the Christian may plead for God’s help to keep him from being drawn into such ungodly conversations.

WHO WOULD WANT TO “HANG OUT” WITH HOLINESS?

But listen to how the world feels about Christians…

“For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ,

in them that are saved,

and in them that perish:

To the one we are the savour of death unto death;

and to the other the savour of life unto life.”

2nd Corinthians 2:15-16

If any Christian has the notion that unbelievers are really impressed with Christians, the above passage puts that fallacy to rest!

The world doesn’t like Christians’ law-abiding ways!

Just think about it! If a Christian is living the Christ-like life, who in the world would want to “buddy around” with him anyway!?!

JESUS, PAUL, ETC., HAD NO SECULAR FRIENDSHIPS

Does anyone suppose that Jesus had secular friendships? Or Paul, perhaps? Or even the Apostle John?

No, the only persons who wanted to “hang out” with Jesus, Paul, or John were those who were already disciples, or those who were contemplating becoming disciples.

Goats are a biblically clean animal, and yet God sometimes speaks of them in the negative.

Listen to Jesus…

“And before Him (Jesus) shall be gathered all nations:

and He shall separate them one from another,

as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

And He shall set the sheep on His right hand,

but the goats on the left…”

But God has created all nature to not only be interesting, fascinating, fun, and often beautiful, but also to teach us wisdom…

FAINTING GOATS

**Now, there is a certain type of goat, often called “The Fainting Goat”, which is the favorite animal on many farms, primarily in the southern states of the USA.**

.

This certain breed has a seeming abnormality which causes the goat to stiffen up and fall down whenever startled, frightened, or excited, as if it were dead.

But then, after lying stiff with its legs in the air, it quickly regains its composure and stands back upright again.

.

Now, besides being a source of laughter and comedy by onlookers, these odd creatures can offer us a real teaching moment!

Yes, this little Fainting Goat is a fitting symbol of those of us who lack faith whenever some supposed trial, big or little, comes our way.

The fact is, there are multitudes in the Church who do just fine when all is going well.

But the moment some trial comes our way, we faint away from any faithful biblical response!

Yes, instead of claiming God’s “exceeding great and precious promises”, we quite often, rather just handle that situation exactly like this faithless world reacts to such situations. (see 2nd Peter 1:4)

For example, when many Christians feel we’ve have been mistreated, instead of “turning the other cheek”, we rather react angrily, demanding justice and recompense. (see Matthew 5:39)

Or many may resort to using carnal weapons, instead of claiming the promises of God, such as…“And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?” 1st Peter 3:13

Well, there could be multitudes of examples given to illustrate how we Christians react faithlessly when in the trials of life which come our way.

**In the not-too-distant future, the form of this presently fallen-antichrist-world-system will come to its final end.**

And God is now asking His people to finish our preparation for that wonderful Promised Paradise.

THE SIGNS OF HEAVEN

At this hour, God is now revealing the signs, in the Sun, Moon, and Stars, as foretold in Luke…

“And there shall be signs in the sun,

and in the moon, and in the stars;

and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;

the sea and the waves roaring;”

Luke 21:25

.

Yes, God is now revealing that He has placed the stars in such a way, that the constellations reveal, not only the Gospel story of Salvation, but also reveal the much-needed instructions for God’s people at this present frightful hour!

WHAT OTHER REASON?

.

Now, beside the great heavenly message that these heavenly signs reveal, could there be another reason for God wanting us to study these heavenly constellations?

A HEAVENLY COMPASS

Is it possible that God wants His people to familiarize themselves with this heavenly message, so that they might know where these signs are, as a literal guiding lights through the literal wilderness?

In other words, could it be that some, or perhaps some, or even many Believers, may be forced out of society, and into the wilderness?

.

And after becoming very thoroughly familiar with these constellations and stars, might the Believers have to navigate themselves through the wilderness?

PURE SPECULATION!

Well, this is all mere speculation!

None of us know exactly what’s in store for us in the near future.

But one thing is for certain: those who are truly wise men today, will follow these stars just as surely as those wise men of old, followed that guiding star which led them to the first Advent of Jesus.

.

And today, God is still leading wise men to follow the wonderful message which God is now revealing to all who will listen and receive it!

.

A SIMPLE ENCOURAGEMENT!

.

And so, today’s devotional is just another encouragement to get on-board with these signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars, and let Arcturus spiritually guide us to our desired Haven of Rest!

.

And who knows all the reasons that God has, for giving us these wonderful “Signs…from Heaven”? Luke 21:11

.

“O give thanks unto the LORD,

for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,

whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands,

from the east, and from the west,

from the north, and from the south.

There exists a lot of intrigue regarding just what star did the Magi from the East follow, which led them to the First Advent of our Savior.

The Bible speaks of Arcturus as a possibility… “canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?” Job 38:33.

Arcturus may very well have been that star.

Nobody knows for certain, because God can perform miraculous deeds beyond anything we can conceive or even imagine!

In simple terms, there’s nothing that’s impossible for God! (Luke 1:37)

But there is a much greater question which confronts Mankind today.

Because, just as a single star guided those wise men to the coming Savior, so also, God is just now giving us a star (plus many other stars), to guide us safely to the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior!

“AM I A WISE MAN?”

We must keep in mind, that those wise men of old, after spending countless hours searching the Scriptures, to see just exactly what and who those prophecies were pointing to, traveled through the deserts hundreds of miles to find the Messiah.

And so, am I willing to spend months praying and searching out this message, in light of God’s Word, to see if this message is the real thing?

.

In other words, am I truly the last-day fulfillment of those wise-men of old?

.

Am I willing to put out the same effort that those wise men of old put out, to discover the truth?

.

And with this message, you don’t even have to travel hundreds of miles!

.

But to really understand this message, does take a great deal of effort.

.

But wise men don’t mind that!

.

After all, that’s exactly the stuff that wise men are made of!

Do you have a temper like a firecracker, always quick to fire off at someone?

.

Are you like a semi-dormant volcano, ready to burst forth molten lava, when someone doesn’t perform like you want them to?

.

Does your temper often flash like lightning bolts at your children and/or spouse?

.

And even though you remorsefully repent of your out-of-control temper, the very next day you do it all over again?

.

Well, there is great hope in Christ, for your intemperate bursts of anger!

PRIDE BEGETS ANGER

.

One thing that must be understood about anger, is that it finds its root in pride.

Listen…

…”Proud and haughty scorner is his name,

who deals in proud wrath.”

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

.

Well, just how do we get rid of our uncontrollable anger?

.

The only true way to get rid of anger is to be filled with the Spirit….

…”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,

longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,

faith, Meekness, temperance:

against such there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22, 23

.

**As you can clearly see from this above passage from Galatians, the fruit of the Spirit are the very opposite of those attributes which produce “proud wrath”.**

.

STOP THINKING I KNOW MORE THAN GOD

.

Now, an entire book could be written on this subject.

But this devotional will only focus on one very important aspect concerning overcoming anger.

.

And to illustrate that one aspect, maybe it’s best to quote Proverbs 3:5, 7…

…”Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;

and lean not unto thine own understanding…

Be not wise in thine own eyes:

fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”

.

If an anger-prone person could just live by this one passage, then there might be a great victory over angry outbursts.

.

Because so much of anger is caused by the mindset that, “I know what is best! And if you don’t perform according to my expectations, then my wrath will be kindled against you!”

.

Yes, this mindset is perhaps the biggest contributing factor in those who are constantly losing their temper.

.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

.

So, if a churchgoer can begin to study God’s Word with the intent of following Jesus, and no longer trusting in their own self-will, then that angry person might cease from thinking that he or she knows better than everyone else.

.

**And the more that we know about God’s will, as revealed in Scripture, the less we will insist upon our own way (see 1st Corinthians 13, 4, 5, ESV Version)…**

.

“But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold”

Job 23:10

.

One very important ingredient to overcoming is to allow God to purify us through fiery trials, that we may ultimately become humble, patient, and trusting with childlike faith.

.

Yes, God compares Himself to a goldsmith who purifies gold (and silver) by sending it through the fire, which eventually separates the dross until the gold is fully purified.

.

And so, we must not murmur when we go through fiery trials, knowing that God is bringing us through each and every trial out of His great love for our soul!

.

And then, when we have been purified, we can say along with Job…“But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold” Job 23:10

GOOD NEWS! TIME TO CHANGE!

.

Now the Good News is, that the true God of Heaven is willing to purify us from our love of pride and anger!

.

Yes, and the difficult times just before us has been designed for that very purpose…

.

Listen…“Enter into the Rock,

and hide thee in the dust,

for fear of the LORD,

and for the glory of His majesty.

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled,

and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,

and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

For the Day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty,

and upon every one that is lifted up;

and he shall be brought low:”

Isaiah 2:10-12

.

And those of us who are given to these proud and pernicious qualities, will be humbled and brought low in that Day!

.

WORK WHILE IT IS DAY

.

And those who do finally find meekness and lowliness of heart will now behave much differently than they once did, when they were still yet proud in heart.

.

So, while there is still a little time left, let’s pray for grace to use our allotted hours wisely, before “the night comes when no man can work.” John 9:4

.

Or maybe a wolf.

Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox?

Maybe even a dog.

Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn.

As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below.
