By comparing spiritual things with spiritual, Paul is seeing that both Jerusalem as well as Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar & Ishmael are being orchestrated by God to be spiritual concepts.

And by comparing these spiritual concepts together, Paul interprets these things as concerning the New Testament Church: both the apostate Jerusalem, and the faithful Jerusalem.

Yes, Hagar and Ishmael represent the “Jerusalem which is now, and is in bondage with her children”:this is the Church-apostate, which is still in bondage to the flesh.

The rider is in a position vaguely similar to a race-horse jockey.

When Jesus was with His disciples, just prior to going to the Cross, He comforted them with these words…

I will come again, and receive you unto Myself;

Now perhaps the words “many mansions” have given people the wrong idea, concerning eternal life.

That Greek word, “mone”,perhaps is better translated as “room”. In other words, it might be better said, “In My Father’s house are many rooms”,or perhaps even better is,“much room”.
But those who “stumble at the Word” have erroneously concluded that Heaven will be some sort of “Mansion Row”…

…great mansions in which the redeemed will have their very own servant-laden southern-style mansion…

…complete with butlers and maids and cooks, swimming pools, limousines, and perhaps even a horse stable on a large green tree-lined acreage.

But there is nothing about Jesus which would give us this idea.

Such a self-serving life would not only be time-consuming and contrary to the very purpose for which we have been called.

And there are many prosperity gospels which capitalize on such nonsense and deceive the self-seeking hearts of many who have “itching ears”! 2nd Timothy 4:3
And so, when Jesus comforted His disciples, He knew that in a few hours, He was going to the Cross.

And by so-doing, He was preparing a place for them in Heaven.

Yes, it was His Atonement for the sins of Mankind, that Jesus was now providing a place in Heaven for all those who, “make His soul an offering for sin” Isaiah 53:10
.
And this concept is substantiated by the fact that Jesus did not go back to Heaven with a great carpentry project.

No, it says that He, “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” Hebrews 1:3.
We don’t yet know exactly what eternity future will be like.

Many suppose that God’s redeemed will, as that old song, Rock of Ages says… “As I soar to worlds unknown, and behold Thee on Thy throne”.

Many suppose that we, as co-priests, will be proclaiming the Love of God throughout the ceaseless ages.
.
Well one thing is for sure. We won’t be living selfish and opulent lives, like so many now do, here on earth! Jesus came to condemn such self-obsessed materialism.
But this little devotional cannot end without adding this…
“And the ransomed of the LORD shall return,
and come to Zion with songs
and everlasting joy upon their heads:
they shall obtain joy and gladness,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
Isaiah 35:10.

Yes, the Bible makes clear that everlasting life will be filled with everlasting “joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away!”

And while some may be disappointed to realize that God’s redeemed won’t spend eternity sipping lemonade on the front porch colonnade of their southern-styled mansion…

…and yet, the good news is, that everlasting life will be filled with joy and gladness!

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter.

Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter displaying the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story).

Orion, the Dragon, and the Glorious White Horse are beginning to descend into the western horizon (This sketch is Winter Constellations descending into western horizon. This can actually be seen as early as December, in the pre-dawn hours).
But the Wide Gate Stars are composed of the two brightest stars of the Auriga Constellation, known as the star, Capella, and the star, Menkalinan.

The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.
.
This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark).
.
While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions.

It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

The sketch to left shows, the two doors are each composed of two bright stars.

The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle.

For instance, these 144,000 all stand on Mount Sion, as is written in Hebrews 12:22…

So here it reveals that the Book of Hebrews was written for ALL true Believers, not just literal Jews!

We are ALL “come unto Mount Sion”, as it plainly states here!
Next it says in this above passage from Revelation 14:4…“These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins.”

Now here is another very simple allegory concerning being defiled with women, symbolizing being defiled by apostate churches which Scripture often refers to as “women”…
“for I have espoused you to one husband,
that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”
Next, this 144,000 passage from Revelation reveals that, “These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.” Revelation 14:4

Now, by going to the New Testament Book of James, it is revealed concerning “firstfruits”…“Of His own will begat He us with the Word of Truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.” James 1:18

Okay, so being “a kind of firstfruits of His creatures” is referring to Believers…ALL Believers!
But notice who this little book of James is addressed to…“James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the TWELVE TRIBES which are scattered abroad, greeting.” James 1:1

So now it is revealed that James refers to Believers as “The Twelve Tribes”.

Well, here is a Bible truth which totally demolishes this false and non-biblical doctrine called, “Replacement Theology”.

Simply put, Satan creates a class of persons, who make most everyone else look good.

Just a quick look at society, and one can easily see that Satan has raised up a large class of frowned-upon groups of people: drug addicts, thieves, Satan worshippers, the morally perverse, the socially-abhorrent, and other similar-type groups.

And when compared to these, the status-quo, working-class feel pretty good about themselves.

“I’m a hard working, tax-paying, flag-waving, church-going citizen!
I’m not a drug addict or a degenerate like those people over there!
So don’t tell me I need a Savior! I’m a good, honest, decent and upstanding person!”

This seems to be one very great deception that Satan employs against the “normal” segment of society.
And so, why would we not assume that Satan employs this very same strategy within Christendom?

Yes, this Master-Deceiver, Satan, causes us to point our proud finger of indignation at those “whackos” over there, and at the same time, deceiving us into thinking that, compared to them, we are in pretty good standing with God!

So, this above passage really takes all the guesswork out of this question, as to just who is good and who is evil. “There is none that does good, no, not one!”

Well then, how about all those public servants which this evangelist pronounced his blessing upon? Don’t they do good?

THE HEART IS DESPERATELY WICKED!

Now there are other similar passages in the Bible, which only confirm this same truth! Jeremiah also addresses this same concept…

Listen… “The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins,
even to give every man according to his ways,
and according to the fruit of his doings.”
Jeremiah 17:9, 10
.
Now Jeremiah here, is telling us just what is the condition of our heart: “desperately wicked and deceitful above all things!”
Even the Apostle, Paul, made the following statement regarding himself… “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:” Romans 7:18
.
Paul well understood that he too was desperately wicked! It was only the Spirit of God, dwelling in him, that gave him any goodness.
And so, knowing all these things, then the question must be asked… “Just why then, do the people of the world have a certain amount of goodness? Why are people so often, very friendly? Good Manners? Why do they volunteer for humanitarian causes?”

Well, it shouldn’t be any surprise that this kingdom of evil in which we live has a “form of godliness, but denying the power thereof”. (2nd Timothy 3:5)
.
Yes, this antichrist world is cloaked with a thin veneer of morality, and superficial goodness.

And yet, without the indwelling Holy Spirit, all such morality and goodness are as fleeting as the proverbial morning dew!

To a great degree, God has scrambled His truth in such a way, that it requires placing each piece of truth in its proper place.
.
Listen… “For precept must be upon precept,
precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line;
here a little, and there a little…”
Isaiah 28:10-12
.
As this above passage alludes, the truth of God must be searched out and placed in proper order, that we might understand just who is our God and Savior.
.
Jesus is like a giant jig-saw puzzle, which must be completed, in order to fully understand His true nature and character and life.
The fact is, Jesus Christ is a very complicated personage.
.
And though we think we understand who He is, the fact is, the more we study His Word, the more we discover that He is far different than we originally believed!
.
Listen… “And this is life eternal,
that they might know Thee
the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.”
John 17:3
.
Many things He did were enshrouded in mystery! But even those seemingly mysterious deeds, were also in harmony with His Law!
.
And of course, our partial knowledge of Christ greatly affects our witness to the world!
.
And because we “know in part, and prophesy in part”,our representation of Christ is an incomplete representation.
.
But the more we dig deeper into God’s Word, the more will we begin to understand those more puzzling aspects to His life!
And so, our great commission is to study His Word, day-by-day, month-by-month, so as to become more and more knowledgeable of Christ Jesus.
.
And as we “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”,the more complete will our life and our testimony be.
.
And as we grow up into His glorious image, our witness to others will become more and more effective in our ability to turn others away from their hopeless existence!
Even the great Apostle, Paul, knew that he was still incomplete in his witness to the world.
Listen… “That I may know Him,
and the power of His resurrection,
and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being made conformable unto His death;
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:
but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3;10, 13, 14.

So just as Paul continued to seek after the Prize, so we also need to continue to piece together this grandest of all jig-saw puzzles.

And we must pray continually for grace and desire, that God may continually reveal His majestic character to us, as we contemplate His Word throughout our day!
And then, one of these days, the following prophecy will be fulfilled…
“And He gave some, apostles;
and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints,
for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”
Ephesians 4:11-13

Yes, the Bible has the words of all those apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, which God has given us for our perfection, till we come to the fullness and perfection unto “a perfect man”!

THE HOLY GHOST RIDER CONSTELLATION
.
This newest Signs Of Heaven Constellation (Fall, 2013) is by far the faintest of constellations, but is a very incredible and awesome in a number of ways (which this article will explain).
Holy Ghost Rider (above western horizon)
.
It is primarily comprised of the Camelopardalis Constellation (head and upper back), plus about 5 stars from the Cassiopeia Constellation (his leg), plus some random stars.
.
It appears as an outline of a rider.
.
Only the back of his head is detailed.
.
And his back and the back of his legs are also detailed.
.
Both sides of his arm are visible, and his hand is gripping the horse’s mane, and that is detailed by three stars (which are also part of the horse’s mane).
.
The rider is in a position vaguely similar to a race-horse jockey.
.
The two brightest stars in this constellation, are from the Cassiopeia Constellation, and are part of his leg.
.
All the rest of the stars are very faint, and must be viewed on a very starry night.

And this evangelist gave a very high-energy presentation, with a very positive message.

Well, the gist of what he said is, “We need to think positive, speak positive, and believe positively, that God has good things in store for us here on earth!”

Yes, this popular speakercontinued to present a message about achieving our earthly dreams: earthly dreams for ourselves and for our families.
“THE WORDS OF HIS MOUTH WERE SMOOTHER THAN BUTTER!”
Psalm 55:21

This extravaganza was filled with short, but uplifting testimonies, a high-energy, upbeat rock band, attractive women, well-timed jokes, and smoother-than-butterpreaching!

Well, needless to say, this presentation was received with no lack of enthusiasm!
.
The vast audience, thousands strong, seemed mesmerized, yet ecstatic about this uplifting and upbeat message! The night was a huge success!
The fact is, this Power of Positive Thinking philosophy has been blowing in and out of the church-world for many decades.
.
It began in the earlier part of the 20th century when one of the nation’s richest men, commissioned a well-known writer to study the most successful men in America…
.
…studying them with the sole purpose of discovering what all these highly successful men had in common…
.
…to discover what commonly-held virtues contributed to their financial wealth.
The prophet Jeremiah was opposed by similar groups in his day…
“…Which say to the seers, See not;
and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things,
speak unto us smooth things,
prophesy deceits:”
Jeremiah 30:10.

These groups did not like all the unhappy truths which Jeremiah was prophesying.
.
They wanted a “happy-faced” gospel, and Satan supplied them with false prophets who told the people what they wanted to hear.
.
Unfortunately, those “prosperity preachers” of Jeremiah’s day caused the people to reject Jeremiah’s unhappy truths, which ultimately led to their destruction.

But like the people of the world, we too, put too much trust in many different things: political and societal talk shows, doctors, pills, schools, insurance policies, support groups, psychologists, psychiatrists, self-help books, and many other similar Man-centered programs.
.
And this very convenient, ready-to-serve society takes all the guesswork out of life.
But these things aren’t right! This is not the way things should be!
.
Take for instance, the story in Genesis, of Jacob and Esau: two twin brothers. Both were very flawed individuals.
.
But the big difference between them, is that Jacob desired to become spiritual while Esau loved the world and greatly desired the things which the world had to offer.
.
You could say that Esau was a man of the flesh, while Jacob was a man of the Spirit.
.
But Jacob was still unrefined. He still had sin in his life, which caused him to resort to much un-Christ-like behavior.
.
Jacob trusted in his own strength, which got him into trouble with his brother!
And so, after deceiving his father into giving the long-promised and long-awaited family blessing which rightfully belonged to his elder brother, Esau, Jacob had to flee for his life.
.
And God allowed all this, so that He could bring Jacob through the necessary life-experiences, to cleanse and purify Jacob’s deceitful and distrustful heart.
.
But after all the years of suffering at the hand of the greedy Uncle Laban, Jacob was accosted by a man, one fateful evening, with whom he wrestled all through that entire night.
.
But at the dawning of the day, the man pleaded with Jacob to let him go.
.
But Jacob refused, saying… “I will not let Thee go, except Thou bless me.” Genesis 32:26.
.
And so, because Jacob persevered and did not give up his wrestling, he received the great blessing he sought for so many years!
.
No more was he JACOB, the Deceiver! Now he was ISRAEL, “the prince that prevails with God!”
Listen to this prophetic passage regarding Jacob’s time of trouble…
“Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child?
wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins,
as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it:
it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble;
but he shall be saved out of it.”
Jeremiah 30:6, 7
.
Okay, so by examining that story of Jacob wrestling with the angel of the Lord, there can be seen a great picture of just what God’s people must endure in the coming trial before us.
.
Well, just like Jacob, we too must be purified from our own defilement!
.
Yes, we likewise must go through the birthing experience, so that Jesus can be born within!
And so, in the time just before us, God will purify for Himself, a people: saints who have learned to put all their trust in God, and God alone!
.
This time of trouble will be like a fiery furnace.
.
And just as those three Hebrew boys in Daniel’s day stood faithful, so will Christians likewise stand, knowing that God is purifying them, even as gold is tried in the fire!
.
And those who have been given a willing heart, will most gladly allow God to do this work of purification in our lives.
.
And at that time, God’s Church, His Elect, will fully give birth to Christ!
.
Yes, each and every one of God’s Chosen, will fully reflect Christ.

So Satan hasn’t gone to sleep, as some suppose! No, Satan has been very busy, working night and day!

And just what has he been up to?
.
Well, mankind’s unseen foe has been very busy, setting this world up for Judgment Day.
.
And though, none of us know exactly what’s in store in the coming days, there does seem to be a pattern concerning just what this unseen one is orchestrating, seemingly behind the scenes.
Listen… “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.” Proverbs 11:4
.
This above passage from Proverbs lays a very good foundation for how we are to escape all the various traps and temptations which the Evil One is laying to ensnare us.
.
Yes, riches are worthless, when it comes to the evil day. It is Christ’s righteousness that will deliver us in that day.
.
And along with that verse, this next passage sends out a similar message…
.
Listen… “There is no king saved by the multitude of an host:
a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
An horse is a vain thing for safety:
neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear Him,
upon them that hope in His mercy;
To deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.”
Psalm 33:16-19.

So, here again, God is trying to discourage us from trusting in the things of the world.
.
And isn’t it true that all the various stories in both the Old and New Testaments all give us a certain message, over and over again: simply trusting in God to deliver us?
Listen… “Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.” Psalm 119:24
.
Yes, God’s testimonies found in His Word are the counselors that we need to guide us.
.
And thus, O Stranger and Pilgrim of the Cross, this little devotional is a good starting point to direct us to the right course we must take…
.
…the right path if we desire to escape the coming trial which is looming just now upon the horizon.
.
And the very Good News is, if the Reader will diligently seek to become fully armored up, right now, prior to the coming storm…
.
…then God will honor and strengthen and deliver all those who awaken to our great responsibility of readying ourselves for that Day!

Yes, today is not much different than Daniel’s day!
.
Well, just look around at all the things which are being thrust upon us!
.
Take for instance, the Internet. Whenever a person wants to download a program, there is a contract to accept. And most of these simply say, “By clicking ‘I accept’, the user agrees to the terms of this contract”.
.
But there are other downloads that say, “By clicking I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the terms of this contract”.
.
And of course, the user discovers there is a twenty-page contract written in very difficult, legalese language, which is next to impossible to understand!
In the days of the early church, the evil Romans found out that they could tyrannize Christians by merely bringing a tray with an idol of some Roman god, and ask the Christian to sprinkle some incense on that idol.
.
And if that Christian refused, then they would be left in an arena to be torn to shreds by wild animals.
.
And this became a great sporting event for the citizens of Rome.
Just take the shopping experience, for example. It’s hard to find a store that isn’t playing ungodly music.
.
Or large posters of half-naked women.
.
Or the lewd pictures on the tabloids as well as all the various merchandise display signs throughout the store.
.
Or take the television! The shows and commercials are getting worse and worse! Or the Internet! You don’t have to seek out pornography! It seeks you out!
.
Or look at the public schools today, which are just now beginning to teach children that various forms of perverted behavior and antichrist philosophies, are quite acceptable, even good…
.
…and now are even starting to encourage some to pursue such lifestyles!
.
Did you ever think you would ever see such a day as this?
But these obvious “situational land-mines” are just the tip of the iceberg, as the saying goes!
.
There are many other traps in today’s world, that we probably don’t even think about!
.
What about a job in which you have to pledge support for a labor-union?
.
Either by raising your right hand, or signing a pledge-statement, you are aligning yourself with an organization which might be using strong-arm tactics to get you that pay-raise, and other benefits!
Or just try to start a private business today! You will probably be facing a mountain of regulations standing in your way! And most of these regulations may be good.
.
Now for the people of the world, this is not such a great problem! Simply ignore the regulations you can get away with!
.
But of course, the true worshipper has this command from God… “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man” 1st Peter 2:13.
Now those Christians who finally wake up to realize just how dangerous and deceptive that this kingdom of darkness is fast becoming, will be disappointed to find that there will be little or no comfort or support from fellow church brethren!

No, the Christian will only have the Lord to turn to.
.
The people down at church will only think of you as a troublemaker or perhaps just a little mentally unbalanced.

And so, this popular speaker was telling his audience much truth, up to a certain point.

But this popular speaker’s world-focused gospel will find its greatest appeal among those who desire to have Jesus, but still retain their earthly desires.
.
Listen… “They (Antichrists) are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.” 1st John 4:5.
.
And such a double-minded gospel appeals to the world, who bring their world-loving ways into the Church.
Yes, we still have opportunity to repent of our world-loving ways and turn to Him who is knocking at the door!

Listen…“A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh…
and cause you to walk in my statutes…“

THE HEEL OF JESUS FOOT

Now, as step back about several light-years, we can view the great “Son of Man Constellation”.

And if we look at his right foot, it is revealed that this serpent is winding its way over the top of the heel of Jesus’ foot.

Of course this reminds one of the very words of God, as He spoke to the serpent in the Garden…
…”And the LORD God said unto the serpent,
Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed…
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,
and between thy seed and her seed;
it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.”
Genesis 3:14, 15.
Of course, this was a prophecy about Jesus, and how Satan would bruise His Heel.

And so, it is no coincidence that God has arraigned the stars in such a way as to portray this concept, concerning the serpent bruising Christ’s heel.

WHERE IS THIS SERPENT GOING?
.
Now it appears as this snake/serpent and its passengers are on a mission. But where are they headed?
.
Well, the snake is travelling away from Christ’s heel, that is for sure.
.
But if you go out at night and find this serpent Constellation, you will notice that the four stars which make its jaws are pointing in two directions.
.
In other words, if you were to draw a line from the two stars which compose its upper jaw, and a straight line from the two stars which compose its lower jaw, and extend those lines across the sky…
.
…one line would go to the Valley of Decision Constellation…
.

Hanging on The Arm of Flesh!

“Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils:
for wherein is he to be accounted of?…
Be strong and courageous,
be not afraid nor dismayed
for the king of Assyria,
nor for all the multitude
that is with him:
for there be more with us
than with him:
With him is an arm of flesh;
but with us is the LORD”

We live in a society today, which, to put it mildly, is very proactive about telling us how to live.
.
From cradle to grave, we are inundated with advice, with maxims, with philosophies, with psychologies, and with all sorts of ideological dogma! Some could perhaps be considered good.
.
And, along with all this, the Church too, has been groomed by society to put our trust in Man, and in man’s ability to solve our many dilemmas! And as a result, the Church, to a great extent, has been leaning heavily upon the arm of flesh.
But the Bible says concerning our dependence on mankind… “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert” Jeremiah 17:5, 6.
.
And as the disciple of Jesus grows in grace and in the knowledge of Christ, he (or she) begins to trust less and less in what people say, and more and more in the Lord’s Word, and what God has to say about how we should live.
Yes, we, the people of God have been relying heavily upon what Man can do for us, instead of relying upon what God can do for us.
.
And like the people of the world, we too, put our trust in many different things: political and societal talk shows, doctors, pills, schools, insurance policies, support groups, psychologists, psychiatrists, self-help books, “Christian” television and radio ministries, and many other similar Man-centered programs.
.
And this very convenient, ready-to-serve society takes all the guess-work out of life. Everything is provided for our needs! Just pay the clerk some money and “VOILA!” Your every need and every desire is instantly provided for you!
.
And let’s face it! In many cases, we even begin to depend heavily upon our churches, to provide us with a “Christian culture” necessary to make up for our own personal lack of prayer and Bible study/contemplation!
But these things aren’t right! This is not the way things should be! Our depending so heavily upon the world has made us spiritually weak!
.
And so, God has addressed this issue in His Word. Right there, hidden in the various stories of the Bible, God has provided us with the necessary information to help overcome the world, with all its faithless ways…
Take for instance, the story in Genesis, of Jacob and Esau: two twin brothers. Both were very flawed individuals.
.
But the big difference between them, is that Jacob desired to become spiritual while Esau loved the world and only desired the things which the world had to offer.
.
You could say that Esau was a man of the flesh, while Jacob was a man of the Spirit. Esau desired the things of the world, while Jacob desired the things of Heaven.
.
But Jacob was still unrefined. He still had sin in his life, which caused him to resort to much un-Christ-like behavior.
And so, after deceiving his father into giving the long-promised and long-awaited family blessing which rightfully belonged to his elder brother, Esau, Jacob had to flee for his life.
.
And God allowed all this, so that He could bring Jacob through the necessary life-experiences, to cleanse and purify Jacob’s deceitful and distrustful heart.
.
But after all the years of suffering at the hand of the greedy Uncle Laban, Jacob was accosted by a man, one fateful evening, with whom he wrestled all through that entire night. But at the dawning of the day, the man pleaded with Jacob to let him go. But Jacob refused, saying… “I will not let Thee go, except Thou bless me.” Genesis 32:26.
.
And so, because Jacob persevered and did not give up his wrestling, he received the great blessing he sought for so many years! No more was he Jacob, the Deceiver! Now he was Israel, “the prince that prevails with God!”
Listen to this prophetic passage regarding Jacob’s time of trouble…“Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:6, 7
.
What in the world could this above verse be speaking of!?
.
And how does this verse apply to me as an individual Christian?
.
OK. So by examining that story of Jacob wrestling with the angel of the Lord, there can be seen a great picture of just what God’s people must endure in the coming trial before us.
.
Well, just like Jacob, we too must be purified from our own defilement! Yes, we likewise must go through the birthing experience, so that Jesus can be born within!
But in the time just before us, God will take away our earthly support-system, step-by-step. And God will purify for Himself, a people: saints who have learned to put all their trust in God, and God alone!
.
This time of trouble will be like a fiery furnace. And just as those three Hebrew boys in Daniel’s day stood faithful, so will Christians likewise stand, knowing that God is purifying them, even as gold is tried in the fire!
.
And those who have been given a willing heart, will most gladly allow God to do this work of purification in our lives.
.
And at that time, God’s Church, His Elect, will fully give birth to Christ! Yes, each and every one of God’s Chosen, will fully reflect Christ. And our birth pangs will be no more!
At that time, the Christian’s trust in God will be perfected, and they will stand, as it were on a sea of glass, mingled with fire. No more will they be hurt by the fires of tribulation! No longer will they trust in Man’s ways, with all his programs and humanly-devised remedies…
.
Listen… “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.” Revelation 15:2, 3
.
Yes, in that day, God’s people will be purified from every defilement, as is written… “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:13, 14.
This Glorious Crown Constellation looks like a wreath at first glance. It has 7 stars, plus another star in the middle. This Glorious Crown Constellation is commonly referred to as the Corona Borealis Constellation. This wreath reminds us of the victory wreath given to athletes who won races in the ancient cultures.

This was spoken of by Paul as he compared those ancient races to the race that Christians must run… “Know you all not, that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that you all may obtain.” 1st Corinthians 9:24 (see also Hebrews 12:1)
But upon a closer examination if you have access to a very dark sky out in the country; if you watch this wreath, you will eventually see 5 more very faint stars, making a total of 12 stars, plus that single star in the middle. This wreath now becomes a crown of 12 stars. This goes along with Revelation 12, which tells of a crown of 12 stars upon the head of the Virtuous Woman of Revelation 12.
.
Just listen to Revelation… “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman…and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:” Revelation 12:1.
.
But this crown is not yet upon the head of the Virtuous Woman of Revelation 12Constellation (also known as Ursa Major). It is just above her head, as if she has yet to attain it. Of course, the 13th star in the middle would represent Christ (Who is our true Crown of our rejoicing). Ok, so we have a picture of Christ and His twelve tribes of Israel. But also we have a picture of Christ and His twelve apostles, which is a picture of His Church. So this heavenly crown is a multi-faceted concept.

“THERE IS A CROWN LAID UP FOR ME”
2nd Tim. 4:8

But as far as this article is concerned, the concept to remember is that this Revelation 12 Woman (Ursa Major) appears to be grasping for this 12-star crown.
.
It represents the prize which God has promised to all who finally overcome the world. Listen… “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.” Revelation 3:21
.
And so, with this in mind, one can see that there’s a prize to win: a glorious crown!

And the answer came back, “You cannot keep just one day holy!”
.
That’s right! Holiness is a spiritual relationship with God. Holiness is the spiritual fruit which comes from the abiding presence of the Spirit of Holiness.
.
So, what does resting on the Sabbath Day have to do with keeping that day holy?
Listen… “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For My yoke is easy,
and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
.
So here we see that Jesus is calling us to rest.
.
But the rest He speaks of is not a physical rest, but is a “rest unto your souls”!
.
As God says in Galatians,“Now the works of the flesh are manifest…” Galatians 5:19.
.
Here is the labor that must be set aside, “the works of the flesh.” in order to have true rest and true holiness.
.
And isn’t it true, that when we finally stop trying to run our own lives, and turn it all over to Jesus, that our life becomes much more simple and decidedly less stressful?
Now of course, such an intense endeavor of cleansing and purifying the heart, requires a seven-day-per-week devotion.
.
To spend just one day a week sitting at the feet of Jesus, and learning of Him is a good start.
.
But those who truly desire to find that perfect peace and spiritual rest, will realize that they must keep focused on Jesus throughout each and every day of the week!
.
There is no other way to find perfect peace.
.

SPIRIT OF HOLINESS MAKES ALL THIS POSSIBLE!

But the very Good News is this!
.
When we are truly indwelt by the Spirit of Holiness (The Holy Spirit), we will have such a thirst for God, that we will begin seeking Him on a 24/7/365 basis!
.
We will have to often restrain ourselves from constantly talking about Him when in the company of others!
.
We will love to talk to Him as we go about our daily chores!
.
We will love to commit a Bible verse to memory, at every opportune moment!
.
And as we look at the innocent things of nature, we will be filled with a joyful appreciation for God’s marvelous power and wisdom!
.
And the more we grow in seasoned wisdom, the more will every act of our life become as a living sermon!
.
This is what Jesus’ life was all about when He was on earth.
.
And this is the direction we are to be going, in our own life!

1st FACE…THE NIGHT WATCHMAN
.
The first face, a man’s face, is easy to see.
.
It is that proverbial ‘Man in the Moon’.
.
Most have seen it. Even as little children.
.
The other two faces are not so easy to see. But let’s concentrate on the first face.
.
Notice that the ‘Man in the Moon’ appears as though he is looking down at the Earth. ‘Shock and Awe’.
.
That’s the look on his face.
.
Sadness too!
.
You might even see the tears running down his cheeks…
…”Rivers of waters run down mine eyes,
because they keep not thy law.”
Psalm 119:136
.
The Moon is spoken of as a “faithful witness”.
.
God’s covenanted law is spoken of as a faithful witness as well.
.
Listen to the Psalmist…
…”It (God’s covenant with David [i.e., Christ])
shall be established for ever as the Moon,
and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.”
Psalm 89:37.
Notice here that God is comparing His Covenant to the Moon as a “faithful witness”.

The Moon reflects the light of the Sun, just as Christians should reflect the light of the Sun of Righteousness, Jesus, who should be in their daily lives.
.
And so, the Moon fulfills the verse from Psalms which proclaims…

But the fact is, in a very real sense, any day of the week is “The Lord’s Day”: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: they all are “The Lord’s Day”!

Listen…“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24.

And so, whatever day it is today, it is the Lord’s Daya day in which “we will rejoice and be glad in it!”

WHICH DAY DO I KEEP?
.
Now there are some who hold to the idea that the 7th day of the week is still the Sabbath of the Lord, from Friday until sundown Saturday night.
.
In many cases, the TV is turned off for a 24-hour period. And no shopping or physical labor is performed. And many even attend church services on that day.
.
But while this is commendable, the point of today’s devotional is all about “Just what makes a day holy?”
.
And so, when the 4th commandment says, “Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy”,one should question, “just how is that one day to be kept holy?”
And of course, the New Testament does not condemn anybody for trying to keep one day holy above the other six days.
.
Even Paul says…
“One man esteems one day above another:
another esteems every day alike.
Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
He that regards the day, regards it unto the Lord;
and he that regards not the day,
to the Lord he does not regard it.”
Romans 14:5, 6.
.
And so, from this above passage, we can conclude that each person should be fully persuaded in his or her own mind about the keeping of one day above another…or not!
“…call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD…not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:”
Isaiah 58:13
.
Now there are many who keep either Saturday or Sunday “holy”, and yet, after church, they go home, and turn on the TV and watch sports games, or engage in other amusements or pursuits.
.
There often is little or no talk of the Bible and people return to their recreation or mundane labors.
.

“BE YE HOLY IN ALL CONDUCT!”
.
But again, today’s devotional asks the question, “How do you keep just one day holy?”
.
Now the Bible says…
“But as He which hath called you is holy,
so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written,
Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
1st Peter 1:15, 16.
.
Notice that Peter here, did not say, “Be ye holy just one day per week”.
.
No, but Peter said, “Be ye holy in all manner of conversation (conduct and lifestyle).”
And so, for those who decide to keep one day of the week holy, the question is asked, “How do you keep just one day holy, without keeping the other six holy too?”
.
And so, if a person is going to keep any one day holy, truly holy, then that person must be holy every day of the week.
.
Anything else is merely presumption and even more than just a little bit hypocritical.
.
Listen to the prophet, Isaiah…
…”Bring no more vain oblations;
incense is an abomination unto me;
the new moons and sabbaths,
the calling of assemblies,
I cannot away with!…
And when ye spread forth your hands,
I will hide Mine eyes from you…”
Isaiah 1:13-15 (condensed for brevity).

Yes, God was trying to let His people know that He was not impressed with ceremonies and one-day sabbaths, when the rest of the week was filled with idolatrous behavior!

Here in this above verse, God declares His Word to be a “Two-Edged Sword”.

It brings out what’s in each person’s heart!

Here once again, this above passage is letting us know that the Bible will only take a person where his heart desires to go!

*If the person doesn’t want to believe in the Bible, it will be seemingly filled with errors.

*If a person wants to drink or gamble, the Bible will give the necessary permission to do so.
.
*If a person wishes to divorce and remarry, the Bible will seemingly excuse that person as well!
.
*If a person desires a deviant lifestyle, such as Polygamy or Sodomy, the Bible has plenty of passages which seem to excuse or even promote such lifestyles.
.
*If a person wishes to be saved and yet still desires to pursue earthly dreams, riches, and ambitions, there will be many verses which seemingly allow for that!
.
*If a woman wants to dance in front of the congregation, there’s enough verses to seemingly support that!
.
*If a person wishes to have a Social-Justice gospel, the Bible has plenty of verses which seem to promote Socialism.
Yes, when we begin our journey up the Pilgrim’s Pathway, the heavy burden of all our sins and selfish desires will eventually fall from off our backs, when we truly come to the Cross!

But the journey doesn’t stop there! No, when we truly come to the Cross, our journey is just beginning!
.
And there will be a growing desire for the things of Heaven.
.
And our great longing of heart in life, will be for the merging of our heart and soul with Jesus!
.
And our great hope will be for the world to witness, “that God is in you of a truth!” 1st Corinthians 14:25

“COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE”

The Bible commands God’s people to come out of Babylon.

Oh yes, Babylon is the apostate church.

But Babylon is also the world!

This is perhaps one great reason for the pronouncement… “Babylon is fallen, is fallen”.

Yes, this great city, “is fallen is fallen”, hinting that it is twice fallen.

And lest there be any doubts about our responsibility as Christians, God has made it quite clear…
…”Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness?…
Wherefore come out from among them,

and touch not the unclean [thing];
and I will receive you,”

And the implied threat here is, that if we do not separate from unbelievers, then we should NOT expect God to be a Father to us!

A new constellation has been revealed, as of about May 29th, 2014.

This constellation appears as a snake.

Its body is comprised of stars from the Bootes Constellation, and its jaws are made of the four stars which Babylonians saw as the head of Draco, the Dragon.

It also has a small single star for an eye.

Now in this constellation is a group of five stars, which will be called “The Five Foolish Virgins Stars”.

These are located on the opposite side of the Glorious Crown of 12 Stars, from the Five Wise Virgins Stars.

But one big difference between the two is, that The Five Wise are curved around the Glorious Crown, while the Five Foolish are curved away from it!

IT’S ALL FALLING APART!
.
Isn’t it true that the world which we grew up in, seems to be morphing into…uh…well…into something else.
.
But we are shocked and amazed at what we now see!
.
When we see Christian businessmen having to close up shop, it is very disconcerting!
.
When we hear the courts handing down unjust decisions, we are filled with anger!
.
When we read that huge corporations paying off congressmen, to oppress us, we feel helpless!
.
When the atheistic public-schools begin to promote sexual perversion, we are amazed and confounded!
.
When false and oppressive religions move in and begin to take over the very nations which once enthusiastically embraced the Christian Reformation, we are greatly saddened!
.
The television, the radio, the Internet, newspapers and magazines are beginning to appear like brainwashing machines, even now embracing censorship of opposing viewpoints!
.
The young people pass by on the streets, wearing pagan-like ornaments, and greet us with a growl or a scowl…or worse!
.
We hear their violent music filled with obscenities!
.
We read of unthinkable crimes!
.
Mob violence is now a daily occurrence!
.
Our government is committing financial suicide!
.
Public nudity beginning to be legalized!
.
Unisex bathrooms now replacing the old gender-based restrooms!
.
Children being kidnapped and sold into slavery by the millions!
.
Churches now beginning to embrace the morals of Sodom and Gomorrah!
.
You could probably sum up the whole world situation today, by merely saying…
…”judgment is turned away backward,
and justice stands afar off:
for truth is fallen in the street,
and equity cannot enter.”
Isaiah 59:14
.
Yes, justice and goodness and truth seem to be dying, as far as this world is concerned!
“In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver,
and his idols of gold,
which they made each one for himself to worship,
to the moles and to the bats;
To go into the clefts of the ragged rocks,
for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty,
when He arises to shake terribly the earth.
CEASE YE FROM MAN, whose breath is in his nostrils:
for wherein is he to be accounted of?”
Isaiah 2:20-22
.
And so, now we can begin to understand just why God’s people are to cast away our earthly idols and run to those“ragged rocks”of the Bible,“for fear of the Lord and for the glory of His majesty!”

You see, the Valley of Decision comes to us right in our very own heart and mind!
.
It is a valley in which each and every man, woman, and child must walk through in his or her lifetime!
.
And it can come at any time in one’s life. Perhaps even on the very day prior to a fatal accident!
.
For the unbeliever, it is“the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.” John 1:9, which beckons him to“Go and sell that ye have, and come and follow Me.”
.
And for the one who has already begun to walk the Pilgrim’s Pathway, to follow Jesus, as a disciple, the Valley of Decision can still yet come to that person, asking the question…
…”Are you willing to forsake all, and follow Jesus even into that death-to-self?
Are you willing to trade that “self” for the incredible Agape love of Jesus?”
Well, this article began by asking the question…“What if someone told you that a great image of the Valley of Decision, spoken of by Joel, the Prophet, was up in the night-sky? Would that make you nervous?”
Now, the Bible repeatedly warns Christians to “Be not deceived!”
.
And so, we must not be fooled by such a time of so-called “peace and safety”.
.
Listen to Scripture…
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety;
then sudden destruction cometh upon them,
as travail upon a woman with child;
and they shall not escape.”
1st Thessalonians 5:3
.
Now, the Christian who is still trying to decide whether or not to forsake this world and all its glittering allurements, will be assailed from every direction!
.
Family, friends, church-members, employers, and all the various voices in society (television, radio, Internet, etc.), might attempt to turn that Christian away from entering into the Ark of safety.

“PEACE, PEACE, WHEN THERE IS NO PEACE!”
Jeremiah 6:14

Yes, the Valley of Decision is about to sweep over the whole entire world to make a last call!
.
And yet, Satan knows that if things seem safe and peaceful, then many undecided individuals may tragically develop a false sense of security.
.
And thinking that all is “peace and safety”, they may make the fatal decision to not enter the Ark of Salvation.
.
Just like the antediluvian world back in Noah’s day, many today may just mock, laugh, and scorn at the idea that the world is about to end!
.
And let’s face it! There were 7 days of calm, just prior to that great destructive deluge!

Outwardly, they seemingly cling to whatever doctrines they still accept, and have a certain moral standard.

MIND CONTROL & INDOCTRINATION

When a new “convert” joins a church, denomination, false gospel, or the so-called cults…
.
…so often, the immediate action by that religious group is to indoctrinate that new convert into the signature church-doctrines of that particular group.
.
And on questionable/debatable issues, the new convert gets a very lopsided indoctrination, void of all scriptures which seem to contradict those pet church-doctrines!
The church at Berea received special commendation from God for their open-mindedness and willingness to re-examine their long-held beliefs, by day-by-day study in the Scriptures…
.
Listen… “These (Bereans) were more noble
than those in Thessalonica,
in that they received the Word
with all readiness of mind,
and searched the scriptures daily,
whether those things were so.”
Acts 17:11
.
This above verse reveals that they searched the scriptures almost hoping that these new ideas were true!
.
In other words, these noble Bereans weren’t just trying to find some flaw in Paul’s teachings, as was the common response to Paul’s seemingly new teachings.
.
But they saw some biblical validity to what Paul was teaching, and hoped these strange new doctrines were true and could be proven by the Bible!
Now the very Good News (but also very sad) is, that we have come to the day in which God is calling us out of the “City of Confusion”.
.
Yes, just as it says…
“Flee out of the midst of Babylon,
and deliver every man his soul:
be not cut off in her iniquity;
for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance;
He will render unto her a recompense.
Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand,
that made all the earth drunken:
the nations have drunken of her wine;
therefore the nations are mad.”
Jeremiah 51:6, 7

Yes, just as it says, we must flee out of the midst of Babylon, lest we be, “cut off in her iniquity!” We must, “deliver every man his soul”!

Dear Soul, if any man has ears to hear, then there is hope for that individual! This above call to flee out of Babylon, is a warning to flee from the apostate churches.

But don’t look back! “Remember Lot’s wife!”

Don’t look back at all those fun potlucks, weddings, picnics, sports games, and social parties, dances, excursions!
.
Don’t look back at those alluring women, merely seductive sirens, singing their sensual-voiced-love-calls, cleverly disguised as “praise songs!”

Don’t look back at all those syrupy-sweet sermons, which encourage going after worldly pleasures and proud and ambitious pursuits!

Don’t look back at all those funny jokes and entertaining stories by all those charismatic speakers!

Don’t look back at all those titillating and exotic prophecy seminars, misleading the church!

Don’t look back at all your friends and relatives who refuse to flee to the holy mountain of God!

Beginning with the civil war, the western nations have made herculean efforts to overcome prejudice against those of varied skin-tones.

But just when we thought that racism was beginning to subside in the western culture, this particular form of hatred is now rising up on a scale that we’ve never seen before!

The obsession with racism is currently rising to insane levels in some areas of society.
Tragically, there has arisen a movement to bring this form of senseless hatred back into the forefront, be it against people who are black, white, brown…
.
Indeed, racism knows no bounds, as far as its targeted ethnic group.
On the other hand, a well-known Creationist has written a book on this subject of racism.

And his purpose is to reveal what the Bible says concerning the different races…
“And (God) hath made of one blood all nations
of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth…“
Acts 17:26
.
In this above verse from Acts, in which Paul is addressing a group of unbelievers, this author makes the case that we are all children of Noah, and even from Adam.
.
We’re all relatives of each other: “made of one blood, all nations!”
.
This book reveals that ALL humans have color, howbeit different amounts of the pigment, “melanin”.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against…spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12
.
Now, many are pointing the accusing finger at the media, at politicians, at public schools…
…But credit must be given to where credit is due!
.
And truth-be-told, it is not just humans who are causing this tidal wave of overwhelming hatred and prejudice in our land!
.
No, but rather, it is the unseen forces of the spiritual darkness of this world who are the true instigators of ever-increasing pandemic hatred of others, based upon skin-tone!
And like never before, in these last days, Satan has stirred up the multitudes to fill them with rage against one-another, merely because of different skin-tones!
.
He has even written schoolbooks, promoting racism, and social-distrust, now being pushed onto public-schoolchildren!
.
And now we are seeing horrible racial hatred and even racial violence, both in this nation, as well as in many other nations.
.
And isn’t it amazing that those who decry racism are often the most racist of all?!
.
They seem to view most all matters of life through the prism of skin-tone! Such a sad existence to be so consumed by hate!
Yes, the bitter root of sin remains in this unsaved world! And as long as we remain in rebellion against the ways of Heaven, the problems we suffer will never go away!
.
In other words, the more hospitals we build, the sicker humanity gets…
.
…the more laws we enact…
.
…the more that lawlessness abounds…
.
…the more humanitarian programs we institute…
.
…the more humanitarian crises will rise up!
.
The Bible says…
…”That which is crooked cannot be made straight:
and that which is wanting (lacking)
cannot be numbered (filled).”
Ecclesiastes 1:15.
.
As this verse so poetically declares, mankind is incapable of straightening out our crooked ways.
.
And we are powerless to supply the needs of the hearts and lives of humanity.
The Good News is, that even in this late hour, God is willing to pour out of His great love into the hearts of any individual who is sick and tired of all this current (and senseless) hatred…
.
…and can give us power to turn away from all ungodliness…
.
…and filled with God’s wonderful love, the redeemed one can have compassion for all children of God, regardless of skin color!
.
No, God is no respecter of persons, regardless of a person’s skin-color!
.
And that same, godly brotherly love, for all God’s children, is available to each and every needy soul, young and old alike!
.
“Red, brown, yellow, black, and white, they are precious in His sight”!

If you have access to a very dark sky out in the country; if you watch this wreath, you will eventually see 5 more very faint stars, making a total of 12 stars, plus that single star in the middle.

This wreath now becomes a crown of 12 stars.

This goes along with Revelation 12, which tells of a crown of 12 stars upon the head of the Virtuous Woman of Revelation 12.

Just listen to Revelation…

But this crown is not yet upon the head of the Virtuous Woman of Revelation 12Constellation (also known as Ursa Major).

It is just above her head, as if she has yet to attain it.

Of course, the 13th star in the middle would represent Christ (Who is our true Crown of our rejoicing).

The problem with the kinds of “itching-ears” gospels preached today, is that we just can’t treat the true Gospel as if it’s some sort of a “pick-n-choose” buffet!
.
Love is a multi-faceted virtue.
.
Jesus is love. But His love is not merely like the anemic, diminished love of this world!
.
And so, we just cannot take one or two facets of His love and ignore the other facets.
.
Because, by so-doing, we would end up taking a few of the more pleasant aspects of Jesus, and rejecting His other, more stern qualities, simply because they require too much self-denial!
Now there are some Christians who just cannot seem to get the victory over certain nagging sins.
.
And because of this, many sincere Believers begin to doubt their Salvation.
.
But listen…“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways…” Proverbs 14:14
.
And as this above verse reveals, the Lord, in His great love, will allow us to fall back into our old ways.
.
But God is merely allowing Satan to make us miserable in our former lusts, so that we may eventually stand firm one day, when our trials are finally over.
.
And all this would be utterly impossible without the strengthening power of the Holy Spirit working within that true Believer!
And so, dear darling soul, take heart in the fiery trials and apparent failings, knowing that they will,“work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;” 2nd Corinthians 4:17
.
It’s true that,“though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:” 1st Peter 1:6
.
And so, Peter says here that our trials will undoubtedly bring heaviness upon us.

Here is one of the most powerful statements in the Bible! It encapsulates the greatest commission given to humanity, and more specifically, to the individual Christian.
Thus, it is God who works in us to bring about this change of heart.

Oh yes, when we were first saved, God planted His seed within us. But that seed must grow.
.
So then, we must become the husbandmen (farmers) who are responsible to make sure that seed will grow and become a fruit-bearing tree of life within our heart!
.
The water of grace of His Spirit…
.
…the fertile and weed-free soil of a humble and purified heart…
.
…the sunlight of the daily Word of God…
.
…these are the elements which cause that seed to grow and prosper within us.
Now of course, these things do not have to be! God has given us just enough time to turn away from these sins, and begin to truly seek after His godliness…
.

Yes, in these last moments of time, God’s people (on an individual basis) will cast away (in heart, not literally) our worldly desires and tinsel-like trinkets, and flee from the wrath to come, hiding ourselves within God’s soul-saving Word.

So, these two events go hand in hand simultaneously.

There is a particular popular evangelist who promotes this kind of gospel.
.
And he is big about being very emotional and even, “warm and fuzzy”, as they say.
.
And he speaks of helping those in the world who are in great need.
.
And he almost seems on the verge of tears, as he speaks about Christ’s love for sinners, and our lack of love for God.
.
The problem is, this very nice man combines this highly emotional gospel with world-loving behavior.
.
And listening to him is like going on a roller-coaster ride of emotions, ranging from his tears of remorse to fits of laughter at his well-timed jokes.
Well consequently, this particular evangelist has a great appeal among young adults who are not so well-seasoned in knowledge of the Bible.
.
After all, to have a great love for others, and yet, still pursuing the many exciting aspects of the world is just the type of religion which the world is looking for…
.
…a religion which does not require dying to this present world of selfishness!
.
And along with this evangelist’s charismatic personality and his ability to charm his audience with jokes or tearfully emotional stories only makes for a very appealing gospel!
.

A PICK-N-CHOOSE BUFFET
.
But the purpose of even using this man’s ministry, is not to merely criticize him.
.
But his kind of a gospel is so close to the true gospel, that it clarifies a great deception which is commonly seen today!
.
You see, this kind of a pick-n-choose gospel takes the most appealing aspects of Christianity, while ignoring and rejecting those more holy aspects of Christ.
For instance, there is very little emphasis upon the fact that Christians are called to be, “…a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…” 1st Peter 2:9
.
Well, just why is this missing ingredient important?
.
The fact is, if we read about the office of a priest, we begin to understand just what a high and holy calling we have from the Lord!
Well, the Good News is that the Lord is very willing to forgive us and return us to our priestly duties.
.
It simply remains for us to begin to take our royal priesthood seriously!
.
And God has extended our time, in hopes that we will turn and repent and call out to God for deliverance from our spiritual lethargy.
.
And hopefully, that misguided evangelist will realize his error and turn again to the agape love which embraces all of the Bible, and not just some of the Bible!
And don’t think for one moment that we cannot have joy and peace as we live such a holy life, as we minister and pray in the Lord’s Temple!
.
When the Holy Spirit truly comes to abide in our heart, we will share in Heaven’s joy and peace: a peace and love which surpasses all understanding!
.
And as we go about our daily earthly duties, we will become a tabernacle in the wilderness of this world: a walking and breathing and living tabernacle!

And we all admired the sterling Rock-of-Gibraltar character of Atticus Finch, played by an actor who looked like the very essence of morality and virtue!
And let’s not forget that God’s assessment of this world as He spoke through the Apostle, John…“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” 1st John 5:19

Now John here doesn’t say that SOME of the world lies in wickedness. Nor does he even say that ALMOST ALL the world lies in wickedness.

No, but John actually says that, “the WHOLE world lies in wickedness!”
Now it is not a pleasant duty to rip apart a movie that so many people adore (including the Editor here).
But even though the truth is quite often unpleasant to hear, nevertheless, it is only “the truth shall make you free!” (see John 8:32)
.
But after all that has been said, it must also be declared that Jesus Christ is totally righteous, through and through! There is not even one dark spot in His character! (see Ephesians 5:27)
And this very righteous Savior is very willing to come and live inside of any man, woman, or child, who allows Him to crucify our sin and selfishness!
.
It’s like Paul declares…
“I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live;
yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”
Galatians 2:20 (Condensed)
.
Now Paul and John, who have been quoted in today’s devotional are probably the closest thing this world has, to totally righteous humans!
.
Oh yes, there was Daniel, and John the Baptist, and Peter and the rest!
.
And if there was ever truly a genuine Atticus Finch, these men were it!
.
(And maybe, we might even surmise that Atticus, in that little book/movie, was a genuine Christian, and yet, this story pretty much portrayed him as a secularist.)
.
And you too, no matter how much of a wretched sinner you have been…if you let God, He can mold you and make you into a genuine Atticus Finch!

This above passage takes on a macabre aura as it describes the Day of the Lord in connection with Moles and Bats, two very strange creatures of the darkness!
.
Yes, both moles and bats live and thrive in darkness.
.
They are both shocking to look upon: both of them being really creepy-looking!
.
So why would God use these two creatures of darkness in this passage concerning God’s people casting away their idols of gold and silver?
And in Revelation 18, God reveals that the mystery harlot, Babylon has become, “a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” Revelation 18:2
.
And since this Mystery Babylon, Mother of Harlots represents the church-apostate, bats would represent an aspect of those false brethren within the Church.
.
The bat being a hybrid combination of a bird and a rodent.
Thus, bats seem to represent false brethren who appear as “ministers of righteousness”, and yet are in reality, servants of that counterfeit “angel of light”, Satan! (See 2nd Corinthians 11:14, 15)
.
But they fly in darkness.
.
And the Bible says concerning true believers…
…”Ye are all the children of light,
and the children of the day:
we are not of the night,
nor of darkness.”
1st Thessalonians 5:5
.
In other words, those false teachers who are yet in darkness, fly only in the spiritual sense that they claim to be “ministers of righteousness”, and yet, are merely servants of sin and Satan! (2nd Corinthians 11:15)
Now there are bats who live on insects. But vampire bats thrive on the blood of cattle.
.
And cattle, being considered “clean beasts”, represent the good aspects of the Church: both “the milk of the Word”, as well as “the meat of the Word”. (1st Peter 2:2 & Hebrews 5:12, 14)
.
And since the Bible says, “the life is in the blood”, you could perhaps say that bats represent those false brethren within the Church who are sucking the lifeblood out of God’s Word. (Leviticus 17:11)
It is a fact that the apostate churches are pretty-much aligned on a number of doctrines, which are sucking the lifeblood out of the Bible.
.
For one thing, most every congregation commands its parishioners to only interpret the Bible literally and never spiritually (unless context demands a spiritual interpretation).
.
And so, by using this totally unbiblical hermeneutic, much of the lifeblood has been sucked out of the meat of the Word.
.
This is because so many truths are veiled within the Bible’s allegories and parables.
.

DIMINISHING GOD’S WORD

And the so-called “orthodox” church now teaches that the Book of Revelation is primarily for the Jews and not so much for Christians.

This is because they erroneously claim that Chapters 4-22 supposedly speak of the time when the Church has already been “Raptured” out of the Earth.
.
In other words, they make void almost the entire Book of Revelation, saying it mostly doesn’t apply to Christians but to literal Jews!
.
And these same teachers also claim that parts of the books of Job and Ecclesiastes are not profitable for doctrine, since they both disagree with certain traditional church doctrines!
.
Thus, such false doctrines as these are sucking the lifeblood out of the Gospel!

TYPES AND SHADOWS

Yes, the entire Old Testament is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, often veiled in types and shadows.
.
And while there is still time, let’s all cry out for mercy of “the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17

Let each of us cast away our “idols of silver, and…gold…to the moles and to the bats…for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty…” Isaiah 2:20-22 (Condensed)
