If someone was going to write a children’s story, it might be about a little evergreen tree, which lived with its parents in a big meadow (And that someone might call it, “O’Sheol’s Fair-Meadow”) filled with many different and colorful and beautiful trees.
.
And as they wrote about this little tree, they might take special note of the fact that this little tree became very jealous of all the other trees, because of their beautiful and colorful leaves…
.
“Mama”,said the little tree, “Why are all the other trees so beautiful, and I’m so drab?”
.
“Oh Little-One”,answered Mama, “You just don’t appreciate how we evergreens are always pointing upward to Heaven’s everlasting joy!
.
And that’s your job too!
.
That’s why you are here in O’sheol’s Fair-Meadow, to point the world upward!
.
And in good time, you will see just how wonderful you really are!”
.
Of course, we all know how impatient that young little trees can be!
.
And Little-One was no exception!
.
And so, Little-One wasn’t very happy about Mama’s answer.
.
And Little-One thought about what Mama said.
.
And Little-One thought about how all the other trees pointed in all sorts of new and different and interesting directions!
.
Well, spring turned to Summer, and Summer turned to Fall.
.
And Little-One grew taller, but so did all the other little trees!
.
“Mama”,said Little-One, “all the other trees are taller now, and even more pretty now that Summer is over, and Winter is almost here!
.
Just look at their bright colors now!
.
And Mama, they seem to be pointing in all sorts of new and different and interesting directions, too!
.
And I’m still just this drab old dark green color.
.
And all I ever point to, is upward!”
.
“Well, Little-One”,said Mama, “As I’ve already told you, your job is to point those others upward to Heaven!
.
Oh yes, it’s true, those other trees point in other directions which may seem new and interesting now.
.
But soon, you will see just how wonderful and special you really are!
.
Just be patient, and you will see!”
.
Well now, one day in November, there came a very cold morning.
.
The dark clouds rolled over the land.
.
And then came a strong wind from the north, bringing a very cold, frosty chill throughout that O’Sheol’s Fair-Meadow where Little-One’s family lived.
.
And what do think happened?
.
Well, with each and every strong wind, more and more of those beautiful and colorful leaves fell from all those once-beautiful trees, until there were no leaves left on those once-beautiful trees!
.
And Little-One looked around, in amazement at all the other trees in the O’Sheol’s Fair-Meadow!
.
And Little-One couldn’t believe its eyes!
.
All those once-beautiful leaves were now all gone!
.
And those once-beautiful trees now looked sad and barren!
.
And O’Sheol’s Fair-Meadow wasn’t so fair anymore!
.
“Mama! Mama! What happened to all the other trees in the meadow? They look all sad and dead and barren!”
.
“Yes, Little-One, that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you!
.
These other trees which pointed in every-which direction, have now lost all their beauty which they had when the weather was fair and warm.
.
But now when hard times have fallen upon O’Sheol’s (now-not-so-fair) Meadow, then only we Evergreens are left with our rich covering!
.
And we still have our dark rich green hue, and we’re still pointing this sad world up to Heaven’s everlasting joy!”
.
And so, that was just about the last time that Little-One felt ugly and drab!
.
Now Little-One could see, just how wonderful it is to be an Evergreen tree!
.
And by-and-by, Little-One grew up into a very noble Evergreen Tree!
.
And eventually he became the tallest of all the trees in O’Sheol’s Meadow!
.
And now, whenever the strong winds blow, Little-One (no longer so little), now sways gently and gracefully with the four winds of Heaven.
.
And Little-One still is evergreen, and still is pointing straight up, to Heaven’s everlasting joy, for all the world to see!

1st FACE…THE NIGHT-WATCHMAN
.
“MOON IS CONFOUNDED”… The first face, a man’s face, is easy to see.
.
It is that proverbial ‘Man in the Moon’.
.
Most have seen it.
.
Even as little children. (The other two faces are not so easy to see. But let’s concentrate on the first face.)
.
Notice that the ‘Man in the Moon’ appears as though he is looking down at the Earth.
.
‘Shock and Awe’!
.
That’s the look on his face.
.
Sadness too!
.
You might even see the tears running down his cheeks. (“Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.” Psalm 119:136)
.
The Moon is spoken of as a “faithful witness”.
.
God’s covenanted law is spoken of as a faithful witness as well.
.
Listen to the Psalmist…
…”It (God’s covenant with David shall be established for ever as the Moon,
and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.”
Psalm 89:37.
.
Notice here that God is comparing His Covenant to the Moon as a “faithful witness”.
.
The Moon reflects the light of the Sun, just as Christians should reflect the light of the Sun of Righteousness, Jesus, who should be in their daily lives.
.
And so the Moon fulfills the verse from Psalms which proclaims… “Praise ye him, Sun and Moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.” Psalm 148:3
Now, having said all this, most realize that this holiday (was actually spelled “holy day” in past times), has its roots in paganism.
.
And many of us are familiar with Hislop’s much-maligned book, “The Two Babylons”,in which he did an amazing job of documenting the origins of the major Christian holidays.
.
Now most churchgoers celebrate Christmas with great enthusiasm, and so, today’s devotional is not so much for them.
.
But there are many others, who are earnestly striving to be faithful to God’s Word and are confused about how to handle this non-biblical holiday.
For those who do not have families, they may wish to entirely abstain from this holiday, altogether.
.
That would certainly not be wrong.
.
And for those with families, and a spouse in total agreement…
.
…that consecrated family may wish to turn this holiday into an opportunity to hand out Bible tracts and take a basket of food to families in need or visit those in nursing homes.
For those parents who are not so much in agreement about how to celebrate this holiday, the Christian will undoubtedly be the one to make most of the concessions.
.
Listen… “Love does not insist on its own rights
or its own way!”
1st Corinthians 13:5 (Amplified Version).
.
But isn’t this what the Christian life is all about, anyway?
And the Christian, instead of picking on his spouse or children for their sins, should instead strive with all his (or her) might, to overcome the flesh; to overcome the world.
.
Because it is “my heart”, which God is concerned about, as far as my Christianity is concerned.
.
And the battle for the souls of my spouse and my children should be fought in my “prayer closet”, and not in the presence of my family.
.
And instead of following Christian psychologists, and other well-meaning advisers, the Christian should seek after personal victory over the sin which enslaves him (or her).
.
For we have a promise…
…”Blessed is every one that fears the LORD;
that walks in His ways.
For you shall eat the labor of your hands: happy shall you be…
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house:
thy children like olive plants round about thy table.”
Psalm 128:1-3
Yes, by seeking an ever-closer relationship with God, the Believer may see his or her family receive God’s spiritual blessings!

A GENTLE BREEZE! NOT A GALE-FORCE WIND!
.
And in the meanwhile, we may strive to make, not only the holidays, but every other day of the year a true joy for others to celebrate with us.
.
Yes, to make life as pleasant, and breezy, and comfortable as possible for each and every other household member, should be the motto of every Christian who lives in a family setting!
.
And then, in the privacy of our own heart, we can freely pursue that deeper measure of love and holiness to our God.
“Dear Lord, Help me to become Christ-like in the area of my tongue. Help me to use restraint in what I say. “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” Psalm 141:3

Tilt your head to the left

Do you see a man’s face?

It’s that proverbial “Man in the Moon”.

We’ve always taken it for granted.
.
But now we’re learning that God is responsible for creating this Nocturnal Watchman.
.
You see, God has etched Signs in the Moon, long ago.
.
A story? Yes.
.
And just now He is revealing those Signs.
.
Just now He is telling that story.
.
Listen to what Scripture says as God promised that His covenant with David (who represented Christ) “shall be established for ever as the Moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.” Psalm 89
“For if ye love them which love you…do not even the publicans so?”
Matthew 5:46, 47
.
It is inevitable that the world will be offended at Christians. But woe to us if we needlessly offend others!
.
We should give absolutely no thought to our wounded pride…and little thought to our financial loss. (See Hebrews 10:34 regarding financial loss).
.
Our great concern should be to win souls for Christ’s kingdom. (We must get on our spiritual knees and beg God’s forgiveness…because we all have offended in the past)
What we really need is to have an epiphany about our past bad behavior, just like old Ebenezer Scrooge, in this picture to the left!

Remember in that old story how Scrooge had a night of great terror and torment over his past behavior?
.
We too, have been selfish in so many ways…at so many times…thinking about our own feelings…thinking of our own loss, instead of considering just how precious are those lost souls for whom Christ suffered and died!
Dear Lord, Help me to really discover that full surrender and total service to Christ in my own life. Help me to experience the great love of Jesus for lost souls, even as the great love which Jesus has…
Well, since it’s December, let’s take a look at the Wise Men who followed the star.
.
Where did these wise men get their advice?
.
Who told them to follow that star?
.
Did they simply confer with each other, seeing that they were wise men?
.
Or did they simply go to the Scriptures?
.
Well, they probably did…
.
Listen…“there shall come a Star out of Jacob,”
.
Oh, so the Bible gives the direction: to look up and behold a star coming out of Jacob! And by reading the things pertaining to Jacob, it reveals that Israel comes into the picture!
.
So, there must have been a Bible available for those wise men, to read about that star!
.
Well, they were indeed wise, then!
.
But when these wise men actually did confer with Herod about the whereabouts of Jesus, they fell into his trap.
.
Thus, by seeking advice from a human, they got into trouble!
.
But then the star reappeared and guided them to the correct location of Jesus!
Let’s hear this verse again… “But the Anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:”
.
Well, it sounds pretty clear that we need not any man to teach us. Not a pastor. Not a priest.
.
Now there are many other Bible passages which only give us further confirmation. Listen to Psalm 1, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law (Word) doth he meditate day and night.” Psalm 1:2.

Or how about this verse… “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;” Colossians 3:16

THE HOLY GHOST RIDER CONSTELLATION
.
This newest Signs Of Heaven Constellation (Fall, 2013) is by far the faintest of constellations, but is a very incredible and awesome one in a number of ways (which this article will explain).
.
It is primarily comprised of the Camelopardalis Constellation (head and upper back), plus about 5 stars from the Cassiopeia Constellation (his leg), plus some random stars.
.
It appears as an outline of a rider.
.
Only the back of his head is detailed.
.
And his back and the back of his legs are also detailed.
.
Both sides of his arm are visible, and his hand is gripping the horse’s mane, and that is detailed by three stars (which are also part of the horse’s mane).
.
The rider is in a position vaguely similar to a race-horse jockey.
.
The two brightest stars in this constellation, are from the Cassiopeia Constellation, and are part of his leg.
.
All the rest of the stars are very faint and must be viewed on a very starry night.
seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them.”
Hebrews 7:25
.
Now, having said all this about running the Christian Race, let it also be said…
…”Never be overwhelmed by the Christian Race!”
.
The Christian Race can even be run, as a Christian lay in bed, making a complete surrender to Jesus in heart!
.
To simply hide under the coverings of God’s wings, trusting in His grace & precious promises, and feeling totally helpless, is perhaps the greatest victory that a person can win!
.
Listen… “Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
“And Jesus answered and said…Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41, 42.
.
As this above passage reveals, to hear God’s Word is the best work!
.
Thus, that Christian who, perhaps, can only lay in bed and pray, or listen to an audio Bible, may win the Christian race ahead of those who are veritable-dynamo-Apostle-Pauls!
.
Yes, those who are physically active, quite often become so busy with either religious or secular projects, to the detriment of their spiritual advancement!
Remember that Paul, as a supreme Pharisee (prior to his conversion), had already memorized much or most or even all of the Old Testament.
.
Consequently, after his conversion, he could simply meditate on those pre-memorized Scriptures as he worked, as he walked, as he lay down.
.
And by such meditation, God’s Word became a living and active force in his daily life!
.
And so, those who are in confinement can use their time to good account, if they will imitate Paul in his reading and meditating on God’s Word, the Bible.
Remember that story in Mark, Chapter 2, in which a palsied man who had to be let down by his four friends into the house, to receive healing from Jesus?
.
That man couldn’t even walk!
.
And yet Jesus gave him victory right then and there, prior to him receiving healing!
.
And if I am spiritually palsied; not able to do the slightest Christian duties, I too, may feel like the weakest and most worthless of all saints!
.
But like that palsied man, I can still get the victory, though I cannot seem to walk or fight the Christian warfare, or run the Christian Race.
.
For the real victory is won when a person truly “forsakes this world” in his heart, and begins to follow Jesus with all his (or her) heart, as one of His Disciples!
.
Nevertheless, unceasing prayer for great grace and healing should be offered, that we may be strengthened, just as that palsied man, who got up and began to walk!
.
Thus, it may be said to us… “I will run the way of Thy commandments, when Thou shalt enlarge my heart.” Psalm 119:32
“Lord, I am weak. Help me to no longer love this world of sin & deception. Purify my heart from all its selfishness & deceitfulness. And give me healing that I may “walk, even He walked” (1st John 2:6).

If you were to go out on a dark and starry night in the summer months, and lift up your head, you might just see this constellation group.

Looking at this sketch, do you see this woman as she tries to take hold of that crown?
.
Well, this is a heavenly fulfillment of the above Bible verse…
…”And there appeared a great wonder (or “sign”) in Heaven;
a woman…and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:”
Revelation 12:1.
And this woman is known as the Revelation 12 Woman, and that crown is known as the Revelation 12 Crown.

You can see this constellation group in the summer months by looking in the western skies.

The Great Tsunami of December 26th, 2004 killed at least 227,900 people. There were, no doubt, many tragic stories resulting from this event.
.
But there was one story which had a happy ending for about 400 Christians.
.
You see, in the city of Meulaboh in Aceh province of North Sumatera, there were about 400 Christians who were told by Muslim authorities, that they were forbidden to have a worship service on Christmas day…
Well, instead of fighting the authorities over this issue, those 400 decided to go to a nearby mountain retreat to hold their worship service.
.
But after the service, they decided to spend the night there, and return home the next day.
.
Well, the next morning they returned, only to find that their town has been flattened by that tsunami, which killed many in their town.
.
Some Muslims of Meulaboh who were rescued from the disaster even said: “The God of the Christian has punished us, because we have been rude and not kind to them.”
.
Some even said, “Why did so many of our people die but none of the Christians died?”
First, it speaks of the sign in heaven of a woman with child.
.
Then it speaks of the sign in heaven of a great red dragon, with a tail that sweeps one-third of the stars and casts these stars down to the earth.
.
So, we get the sense that this phenomenon that the Apostle John was seeing, was closely intertwined with the starry host of the heavens.
.
And these two signs in heaven, a woman, and a dragon, are a big part of this website, Signs Of Heaven.
.
And so, this phenomenon that the Apostle John was seeing, was closely intertwined with the starry host of the heavens.
.
What really gives validity to this idea, is that God created the Universe in such a way, that if one looks at the major constellations, then this Revelation 12 scenario can be seen.
Now it’s true that the Moon must reflect the light of the Sun, in order to be a light to the night-time world.
.
However, during an eclipse, this our world, passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, thus preventing that sunlight from shining on the Moon’s face.
.
And so, because the world comes between the Sun and the Moon, the Moon no longer reflects the light of the Sun.
You see, the Devil has been very busy, making sure that Christians are preoccupied, at a time when we should be looking up, and lifting up our heads (see Luke 21:28).
.
Yes, that “serpent of old”, the Devil, has been working tirelessly, making sure that this world comes between the Christian and the “Sun of Righteousness”, Jesus, so that little or no light shines on this very evil world!
.
Thus, the world is growing more and more dark and wicked, with each passing day!
And that remedy is when a Christian begins to clear away all the rubbish which Satan has piled up on him (or her); the very things which have eclipsed the Son-light from shining!
.
And even though you are just one Christian…
.
…yet by letting Christ shine on you, your little light will begin to shine on all those around you…
.
…soon causing others to follow your Christ-like example!
.
And before long, there will be many other lights shining, as a result of your one little light!
.
And eventually, your one little light will ultimately cause the light of Jesus to fully and finally enlighten the whole world!
.
So, in light of this truth, will you, Dear Soul, be that one to let the light of Jesus begin to shine on you once again?
.
Are you willing to cast away every ensnaring idol of this bewitching and deceitful world, so that the Sun of Righteousness may shine brightly out from you, to all those around you?
“Dear Lord, Keep me ever focused on the Sun of Righteousness, Jesus. Let His light shine out brightly from me, that I may be a light in this dark, dark world…

…and our patient God quite often brings us into Christianity very gently…

…allowing us some time to enjoy sitting at the feet of Jesus, hearing His Word.
A. COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM: The first step is the separation from evil.
.
As the new Believer begins to separate his or her own self from ungodly influences…
.
…then the heart (the treasure chest of the mind) begins to become purified from all the ungodly chatter and unwholesome images which we once embraced as unbelievers.
B. RENEWING OF THE MIND: Now we begin to replace all that discarded rubbish with the heavenly treasures of knowledge, wisdom and virtues.
.
In other words, by studying the Bible and hiding God’s Word in our heart, we are, in essence, cleansing the Holy Place of our soul-temple.

“THE TRYING OF YOUR FAITH”
James 1:3
.
C. WALKING THROUGH THE FIRES OF TRIBULATION:Now here is the part of Christianity that can get unpleasant at times.
.
You see, it is God’s good pleasure to sit as a refiner of silver and gold, to purify the Sons of Levi (“Christians” – see Malachi 3:3).
.
And the way that God accomplishes this, is to allow various little trials and tribulations, so that all our biblical-head-knowledge can be translated into practical, everyday Christlike behavior!
.
And so, while we once lived faithlessly in the world, we must now begin to walk by faith!
And God is oh so patient with us, every time we fall down!
.
He lovingly picks us back up, dusts us off, feeds us with His nourishing words, and gives us a time of refreshing rest.
.
And then, He once again sends us up this gently ascending pathway to Heaven, as we once again encounter the experiences and situations that are designed to strengthen our faith, and solidify our character into His image.
And so, dear trembling child of faith, we must begin to walk that pathway set before us, praying without ceasing for more faith, for more knowledge, and for more wisdom to walk onward and upward, on that pathway to God’s Celestial City!
“Dear Lord, Help me to begin to cleanse the sanctuary of my heart and fill it with all precious and pleasant things. And help me to faithfully endure the trials before me…

SUMMER CONSTELLATIONS = “COME FOLLOW ME”
.
This whole scenario paints the portrait of just what it means to become a disciple of Jesus.
.
We are all called to, “go and sell all you have, and give to the poor…and come follow Me”.
.
And so, the new Christian begins his or her heavenly sojourn.
.
Oh yes, we’re still here on Earth.
.
But we now begin a spiritual pilgrimage, as we follow Jesus in our hearts, and learn of Him.
.
The Woman Constellation giving birth to the Christ-child typifies the Church (all true worshippers) as we struggle to rightly present Christ to the world…
…“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again
until Christ be formed in you.”
Galatians 4:19.
.
So, Paul here was using this idea of childbirth as way of illustrating how a Believer is in spiritual labor pains, waiting for Christ to be formed within.
In his classic conversion story, “Grace Abounding To The Chief of Sinners”, author, Bunyan marveled to see elderly people in the marketplace, busily buying trinkets and knick-knacks…
.
…almost as if they were in denial of the fact that they were soon to die, and be forever removed from life.
We also live our lives as if we are going to live for hundreds of years.
.
We accumulate goods, and houses and lands, and spend most of our life trying to keep them from crumbling back into dust!
.
We get excited about various subjects of interest, not realizing that they are, as a songster once sang, merely “dust in the wind”!
.
We perfect our game, only to see our physical and mental abilities eventually diminish!
.
We spend countless hours trying to build our little empire, incognizant that before long, a strong wave of some personal tragedy will wash away our castles made of sand…
We take pictures of ourselves and friends and places we went, and they get thrown into a box, or maybe even carefully placed in an album: and this…
.
…in spite of the fact that our grandchildren would someday toss them all into the garbage (if time would have lasted!)
.
We desire to live to be a hundred years old, not even aware that it would probably be total misery to live such a long life in pain and misery, and probably even loneliness!
.
Yes, John Bunyan was right! And so was Solomon! “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher…all is vanity (meaningless)!”

And we will live in an everlasting world in which every thing, big or little will have true meaning!

This is perhaps one of the most amazing constellations that God has created!

It truly looks like a flower, and appears to be blowing in the direction of westward.

But as autumn draws near, this constellation appears to bow itself down, just like the flowers of Earth bow down, at the summer’s end.

And these are not merely obscure stars.
These are among the biggest and brightest stars inthe night heavens!

The Two Turtle-Doves Constellation is also known as Sagittarius .

The Flower of the Field is commonly known as Scorpio.

But there is another obvious aspect to this constellation group.

Notice that the birds are flying in the same direction as the flower is bending; it is as if the east wind is blowing these heavenly messengers…

With His sacrifice on the Cross, Jesus truly fulfilled the above prophecy, giving His life for His lost sheep.

ORION, THE GOOD SHEPHERD

With the addition of a single star, Theta Geminorum (the left hand of the Castor twin of Gemini), the sickle in Orion, the Reaper’s hand (sketch to left) now extends the blade, thus transforming that sickle into the hook of a shepherd’s rod and staff.

And so now this little Gemini star becomes the tip of Orion’s Shepherd’s rod & staff.

Thus with this additional star, Orion the Reaper Constellation now becomes the 5th personality of Orion: The Good Shepherd (sketch below right).

Theta Geminorum is a class A3, 4th magnitude star, which means it is much fainter than either of the stars, Castor or Pollux.

But faint as This little star may be, it nevertheless presents a giant concept, turning Orion’s sickle into a shepherd’s rod.

And this is a very wonderful and beautiful Bible truth: namely, that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, as is written…

“As a shepherd seeketh out his flock

And today’s topic is all about Satan’s ability to counterfeit even that!

And listen to what God says through Paul, the Apostle…
…”For Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed
as the ministers of righteousness;
whose end shall be according to their works.”
2nd Corinthians 11:13-15 (condensed).

This passage reveals the true nature of Satan’s work on earth: to fill the pulpits with as many False Shepherds as possible!

Oh yes, there may be some, or even many true shepherds still in the pulpits at the time of this writing.

So even though the life in Christ is a life of simplicity, yet Satan works tirelessly to complicate the truth, and confuse, not only God’s people, but also confuse the whole world!

Well, if you look just to the south (south is to the left in this sketch) of Arcturus, you will see what appears to be a scepter.

But this scepter also appears as a Cross.

And this constellation has been named, the Cross/Scepter constellation.

It can be seen in January, in the pre-dawn hours.

Each night, it appears a little earlier, as it slowly inches its way westward.

Finally, this constellation dips below the western horizon, in the fall, not appearing again till January, back in the eastern sky.

Now, as earlier stated, this wonderful prophecy (“there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel”) has its greatest fulfillment in the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is represented by that glorious Star.

And His death on the Cross is truly His scepter of authority.
Now good old King Hezekiah was just the mirror-opposite of Paul.

Because, when he found out he had a terminal illness, Hezekiah wept before God, pleading for Him to heal his terminal illness.

And God answered Hezekiah’s prayer.

God gave him 15 years of additional time on earth (see Isaiah 38:5).

But because of that life-extension, Hezekiah later had a son born to him, Manasseh.

And that son, who would eventually become the worst and most evil king that Judah has ever had, completely undoing all the good that his father, Hezekiah, had accomplished.
Well, such behavior we’d expect from members of the animal kingdom, and even from the unsaved humans, but not from those who claim to be followers of loving Jesus!

And so, if these kinds of retaliatory behaviors are my standard operating procedure, then I just might be what is known as a “Tip-For-Tat” Christian.
.
And truth be told, a Tip-For-Tat Christian is not really a Christian at all!
.
He (or she) just thinks he is!
.
Yes, a Tip-for-Tat Christian doesn’t allow others to walk over them.
.
Rather, their mantra is, “I’m not gonna be used like some Christian doormat by others!”
There is a parable about a king who forgave a very large debt owed by his servant.
.
And that forgiven servant refused to forgive his fellow-servant for his small debt, but choked him and cast him into prison till he repaid!
.
Now when the king heard about this great wrong, he said to the servant…
…”Shouldn’t you also have had compassion on thy fellow-servant,
even as I had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth,
and delivered him to the tormentors,
till he should pay all that was due unto him.
(And Jesus says,) ‘So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also unto you,
if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.'”

Now this parable has great significance for today’s devotional!

After all, Christ has paid the ultimate price for our soul’s Salvation.

But when we ourselves demand everything to be fair and equal from others, are we not behaving like that wicked servant, who refused to forgive a small debt from his fellow-servant?

But they didn’t take into account that there is an actual and literal and personal Devil, who (with his countless evil-angels), is at war against Heaven.

And though his modus-operandi in Europe was physical violence, economic, political, and religious oppression…

…Satan now had a brand-new strategy and an entirely new arsenal, which he was readying to launch against the world.
Now his goal was to keep society (and the Church) so busy with the cares and pleasures of life, that they would have little time or inclination for devotion to God’s Word.

While the first Beast kept people destitute, this second Beast would come in like a flood, bringing various types of cares and pleasures, to the point of wretched excess.

SO, WHAT’S THERE TO BE THANKFUL FOR?

Now before we completely sink into the valley of despair at all this bad news, let’s take a moment to be thankful for the freedoms we still enjoy.

If there are any faithful ministries to support, we still have an abundance of finances to give to such faithful evangelists.
.
And we can be thankful, that we can still speak freely about the Gospel to those around us.
.
Yes, there are many freedoms we still have.
.
And we need, to our best abilities, exercise such liberties to God’s glory, before they are all taken away…
But the long oval-shaped body has relatively few stars, but can been seen, howbeit with a dark starry night.

The four stars of the front fins are made partially of Taurus.

This Dragon constellation appears in the eastern horizon about mid-summer in the pre-dawn hours, spewing his flood-waters northward toward the Woman of Revelation 12 (Woman in Travail).
As a matter of fact, all the different aspects of this spiritual armor are related to the Christian soldier gaining a thorough knowledge of God’s Word, the Bible.

The “breastplate of righteousness”, the “belt of truth”, the “helmet of Salvation”, the “sword of the Spirit” and the “shield of faith”.

All of this various protective gear is strengthened by knowledge: the wisdom & knowledge that can only come through hiding God’s Word in the heart.

And one need not look far to see this principle of “God giving up on a nation”, being carried out in the great societies throughout history.

When sexual perversions and other types of immorality begin to prevail in a society, these abominations have been the harbinger of certain doom for that society.
But even though we most definitely see this same debauchery gaining greater sway over our society, the extremely harrowing reality is that this immorality is a growing phenomenon in many nations on Earth!

So, what does that tell us? That God has given up on the nations?

Yes, this is definitely a wake-up call that God is withdrawing His divine protection from the nations.

Oh yes, God is still saving individuals. But it appears that we have reached the time of the end!

It appears that we are entering into the climactic finale to this grand drama of the ages.

The signs of times are now sounding the clarion trumpet call: “Prepare to meet thy God”
The very Good News is that in times of trouble, the Lord provides a place of refuge.

A very popular radio Bible study series, ‘Through the Bible show’, attempted to interpret Ezekiel 38, and 39, regarding Gog and Magog.

And while the Bible teacher usually did fairly good on salvational issues, for some reason, threw away all the proper hermeneutics when it came to Bible prophecy!

Now it is not the intent of this devotional to attempt to define just what Gog and Magog represents in Scripture.

But it is simply to define what proper Bible study is.
Next, he found two cities in Russia whose names sounded somewhat similar to “Meshech and Tubal” Meshek sounds like Moscow, and Tubal sounds like Tobolsk
To put it concisely, this otherwise-adequate Bible teacher had abandoned proper rules of interpretation and simply attempted to interpret the Bible by use of maps, history books and newspapers!
So just what are the proper rules of Bible interpretation?

The first rule is, that the Bible is its own interpreter!

Listen… “All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
2nd Timothy 3:16, 17

And so, this passage from 2nd Timothy tells us where to look for doctrine, correction, and confirmation (reproof) of all supposed biblical ideas: The Bible only!
Yes, Satan has filled so very many pulpits with his own so-called, “ministers of righteousness”. 2nd Corinthians 11:15
.
And these leaders will mislead God’s people, not only in improper Bible study, but also in going after the many idols which God’s people are now embracing, so often!
The Good News is that we are not required to be taught by others!

Listen again…
“These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
But the Anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you,
AND YE NEED NOT THAT ANY MAN TEACH YOU:
but as the same Anointing teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie,
and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.”

We have a promise here, that if we are in Christ, then we have the Anointing of God, which will teach us all truth!

And we are not locked into depending on Bible teachers, including otherwise good Bible teachers who miserably failed to properly understand Revelation.

PAUL FINALLY REVEALS WHAT THESE TWO WOMEN REPRESENT

Paul makes the most incredible and bold comparison of Abraham’s wife Sarah and her handmaid, Hagar to the Old and New Covenants!

Just listen carefully to this passage…
…“Which things (Sarah & Hagar) are an allegory:
for these are the two covenants;
the one from the mount Sinai,
which genders to bondage, which is Hagar.
For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia,
and answers to Jerusalem which now is,
and is in bondage with her children.
But Jerusalem which is above is free,
which is the mother of us all.”

So, these two women, representing the two divisions of Jerusalem…

…and actually, is a spiritual portrait concerning those who are still in bondage to sin…
And this is the great recurring theme in Scripture: two women, a virtuous woman and an adulterous, whorish woman.

Paul, of course, has correctly spiritualized the story of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar and their children as a picture of the Church, both the apostate portion and the True Worshippers of God.

And how can this be, that nobody has ever seen the Pleiades as a constellation of a woman?

In the first picture, the Pleiades appears as the Harlot of Revelation 17.

In this next picture, we also see this second depiction of The Pleiades as an angel, which symbolizes God’s people, walking the downward pathway to destruction.

This above passage speaks of two spirits in the world: the “Spirit of truth”, and the “spirit of error”.

From this 1st John 4:3, 5, 6, we learn that the “spirit of error” is merely the spirit which pervades all those living in this world, who are not of the “Spirit of truth”?
Now, this same passage also speaks of the “Spirit of truth”.

Just who is that referring to?

Well, Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as the “Spirit of Truth”several times in John’s Gospel.

Listen… “And I will pray the Father,
and He shall give you another Comforter,
that He may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth…”
John 14:16, 17 (Condensed)

According to his writings, there are two spirits pervading the inhabitants of the world: the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error: the Holy Spirit and the Antichrist spirit.
In this above passage, Jesus was speaking to the proud Pharisees, revealing to them that a man’s heart must be filled, either by the Holy Spirit, or by an unclean, devilish spirit.

In the above account, is revealed how a person with an unclean spirit can be transformed into a counterfeit religious person (symbolized by the 7 more wicked spirits).

So, either a person is filled with the spirit of Satan, the antichrist spirit, or he (or she) is filled with the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit.

And there’s no third alternative!

So, there’s no fence-sitters in this world: you are either in God’s camp, or you are in the Devil’s camp, one or the other.

VALLEY OF DECISION, PRIOR TO JUDGMENT DAY…

THE FALL CONSTELLATIONS: Just prior to the great battle drama, which the Winter Constellations, depict, a most fearful and foreboding constellation group begins to make its appearance in the eastern sky.

But don’t wait too long to locate this constellation!
.
Because once it crosses over to the western half of the night sky, it can no longer be seen.
.
So these constellations can only readily be seen when they are in the east.
.
The sketch here shows Cassiopeia Constellation, which is the snow-capped mountain to the left in this sketch.

‘The mountain to the right has no apparent official name.
.
It is part of the Pegasus Constellation.

And just as this constellation group appears for only a short time, so it is with the Valley of Decision’ that comes to each person!

This constellation is called the Valley of DecisionConstellation.
.
And this constellation group points to the real Valley of Decision, in which each and every human chooses just who will be his or her master.
But God has faithfully created this wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.

Because this wave of water is basically comprised of ten stars.
.
The main body of the wave has seven stars (#’s 1 thru 7, in the sketch), and the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars, (#’s 8, 9, 10).
.
So in this wave, we see the same 7/10 numbering found in the Revelation description of the heads/horns/crowns of the Dragon.

And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent.

Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

A person woke up this morning from a very satanic dream.

In this dream, he answered the doorbell, and was greeted by a certain “cult”, in which the husband/wife team asked if they could come in.

And so, he invited them in.

And they asked if they could put some indoctrination audio, via headphones, on his young child, to which he agreed.

And then, they took his young child into the bedroom and laid the child on the bed, all equipped with headphones, and some sort of coverings over her eyes.

But now, in the New Testament, the focal point is on Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, who works in our hearts, and not merely on tables of stone.

When God created the Moon and the stars, He ordained them to “rule the night” (Genesis 1:16).

The Moon, especially when it is full, can light your pathway through the night, as it reflects the light of the Sun.

So too, the Christian is to be a light to the world: to this sin-darkened world.

But as the Moon must reflect the light of the Sun, in order to be a light to the world…

…so also, the Christian must reflect the light of Jesus, to be a spiritual light to this planet in rebellion.

However, during an eclipse, the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, preventing that sunlight from shining on the Moon’s face.

This is an incredible object-lesson about when the child of God allows the world to come between him and his Lord.

Like the eclipse, that person no longer reflects the light of Jesus, because his or her love of this dark world of sin has eclipsed the light from the “Sun of Righteousness” (see Malachi 4:2).

And so, as a result, the Christian will not be able to give nearly as much as, say, a single Christian.

And in these situations, the Christian, while personally living a life of self-denying love and service for them, should consider their comfort, and contentment, and happiness in life.
And there are many elderly and infirm persons, who must meet their monthly expenses, to keep up a reasonable and comfortable and joyful lifestyle (but not an extravagant lifestyle, dear Pilgrim).

The Lord understands all these different factors.

And we must remember that the Lord’s Army is a “Volunteer Army”!

And so, we must never badger or force others to join!

It has become apparent, on this date, that as summer draws to a close, this “Flower of the Field” “Constellation appears to bend almost completely down.

It somehow rotates in order to produce this effect.

This is a very wonderful phenomenon…and Biblical too!

After all, the Bible says “the grass withers and the flower falls away”.

And that’s exactly what this flower seems to do.

Yes, whenever Christians engage in less-than-wholesome communications, this infectious virus can be easily spread.

This deadly virus, simply put, occurs when the conscience becomes…“seared as with a hot iron”…

…causing one to forbid to marry Christ, the bridegroom, and commanding to abstain from the strong meats of the Word, resulting in malnourishment in the words of faith and of good doctrine!”
Now the Christian may not even be aware that he or she has contracted this virus.

However, there are some tell-tale signs that one has been infected.
.
So here is a short list of a few most common signs to watch for:

1. Copious amounts of viewing secular programs is perhaps the most noticeable sign to watch for. (See Psalm 101:2, 3)

.
2. Drowsiness occurring while praying or studying one’s Bible. (See Mark 13:37)
.
.
3. A growing desire to gossip and spontaneous moments of judging others and making defaming and derogatory comments about them, behind their backs. (see Luke 6:37 & James 2:1-4)
.
.
4. Sudden fits of laughter over the hearing of foolish talk and jesting. (see Ephesians 5:4)
.
.
5. Ongoing and insatiable thirst for worldly pleasures and a constant seeking for earthly treasures. (See 1st John 2:15-17)
.
.
6. Loss of eyesight causing the patient to no longer see, “the land which is very far off.” (see Isaiah 33:17)
.
.
7. No longer able to focus one’s thoughts upon the life-giving words of Christ. (Psalm 1:2)
.
.
8. Often seen behaving like a dolt, intruding into places where angels fear to tread! (See Romans 1:22)
.
.
9. Desire to gamble with one’s Salvation, by presumptuously engaging in various types of reckless, unchristlike behavior. (see Psalm 19:12-14)

A CURE HAS BEEN DISCOVERED!

Now the very Good News to all this, is that this disease while very deadly, is totally curable!

Yes, that great Physician discovered the cure for D.C.S., making it unnecessary for even one victim to die of this disease.

Nevertheless, the remedy for D.C.S. must be strictly followed:

First, as you can see in this picture to the right, this disease has been around a very long time!

In Old Testament times, such victims of this disease had to look upon this brazen serpent, to be cured!

But today, thanks to the Great Physician who invented our modern-day cure, we simply need to look upon the Cross which this Great Physician has provided!

Yes, nowadays, the sufferer of D.C.S. need only look up, and lift up the head to behold the Savior on the Cross.

And once the head is lifted up, the patient must continue looking up, fixing his or her gaze heavenward for evermore. (see Luke 21:28)

Second, immediately anoint your eyes with the eyesalve of constant prayer and Bible meditation. (see Revelation 3:18)
.
.
Third, the patient must be thoroughly washed (in Christ’s blood), and have a change of clothing of linen garments, clean and white, unspotted from the world. (see Jude 1:23 & Revelation 19:8)
.
Fourth, be sure to purchase pure and fine gold, tried in the fires of tribulation. (see Acts 14:22)
.
Fifth, once cured, the former sufferer must judiciously avoid any more questionable situations which may re-injure the restored and once-again healthy conscience, because it is now very tender, and can easily be re-damaged! (see Titus 1:15, 16 & 2nd Corinthians 6:14-18)
One reason for presenting this analogy between the conscience and physical disease, is to illustrate how the things of nature can easily translate into spiritual concepts!

Indeed, we are all struggling on a daily basis to keep our consciences as clear and tender as we possibly can!

WHAT DID HENRY SAY ABOUT, “MY SOUL…MY DARLING”?
Psalm 22:20 & 35:17

That great theologian of yesteryear, Matthew Henry, had a thing to say concerning the preciousness of the soul, and why Psalms 22:20 & 35:17 refer to it as “my darling”…

Listen to Henry…“My soul is my only one…
…I have but one soul to take care of…
…and therefore the greater is my shame if I neglect it…
…and the greater will the loss be if I let it perish…
…Being my only one, it ought to be my darling…
…for the eternal welfare of which I ought to be deeply concerned…
…I do not use my soul as my darling…
…unless I take care to preserve it from every thing that would hurt it…
…and to provide all necessaries for it…
…and be entirely tender of its welfare.”

So, Henry interprets, “my darling”, as referring to the soul, expressing how dear and precious is a man’s soul!

But on the other hand, those who value, and care, and nurture their soul, are among the richest of the rich, though they may be poor in earthly wealth!

After all, who would you rather be: an earthly billionaire, who eventually withers away and dies, or a poor person who will live forever in a beautiful universe?

No, the real billionaires are those who love their own soul, and care for it and nurture it…

Listen… “There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing:

The ransom of a man’s life are his riches:”

Jesus is the ransom for our soul.
