and there came a great voice out of the temple of Heaven,

such as was not since men were upon the earth,

and great Babylon came in remembrance before God,

to give unto her the cup of the wine

of the fierceness of His wrath…

And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven,

every stone about the weight of a talent:

and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail;

for the plague thereof was exceeding great.”

When you were a child, did you ever hear the expression, “Are you ready to cry, ‘Uncle’?” Of course, this was a common saying among children to let their opponent know, “I’ve had enough! I can’t take it anymore!”

.

Yes, whether engaging in a wrestling match, or some other means of inflicting pain on another kid, the universal ‘white flag’ was to cry, “Uncle!”.

.

One of the more believable speculations of the origin of this saying is from “American Speech” in 1980: that “Uncle in this expression is surely a folk etymology, and the Irish original of the word is ‘anacol’ … ‘act of protecting; deliverance; mercy, quarter, safety’”.

THE PLAGUES ON EGYPT

.

Now just what does this have to do with Bible prophecy?

.

Well, let’s just take a moment to recall what happened in Egypt as God was pouring out His plagues upon Pharaoh and his Egyptian citizenry, just prior to the great Exodus out of that country by God’s people.

GOD’S PEOPLE FINALLY LET GO

.

Remember how Pharaoh reacted after each new plague? At first, he was ready to cry out, “Uncle! I’ve had enough!” But before long Pharaoh’s heart hardened and he relented on his promise to let God’s people go.

.

But finally, upon receiving the last and final plague, he actually let God’s people go.

.

Now, as we read of this Exodus account, we are reminded of another set of plagues to be poured out in the Book of Revelation.

.

THE PLAGUES ON EGYPT WERE A TYPE & FORE-SHADOW OF THE PLAGUES OF REVELATION 16

.

There are distinct similarities between those plagues poured out on ancient Egypt, and the plagues to be poured out in these last days.

.

And just listen to the reaction by those who receive of these apocalyptic plagues, soon to be poured out… “And the fifth angel poured out his vial…and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.” Revelation 16:10, 11

.

Well, this particular plague caused a lot of pain, but obviously, it was not enough for the recipients to cry “Uncle! I’ve had enough!” And of course, this is just one of seven plagues to be poured out.

“And I saw…seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.”

In the first installment of “The 7th plague: Cry Uncle!”, the focus was on some of the ways in which God’s judgments are currently being poured out upon the world and upon society.

And yet, there is so much more that is being poured out, that even many secularists have just about had enough!

HYPOCRISY, CHEATING & LIES IN POLITICS

.

Another judgment upon the land is seen in the world of politics! For those of us who have been held in bondage, to watch the daily political soap operas, it almost takes our breath away to witness all the vitriolic cheating, lies, and hypocrisy!

.

And to behold irresponsible politicians borrowing and squandering trillions of dollars, much of it for wasteful and frivolous projects, knowing it will eventually destroy this nation’s economy is enough to give a stroke to many responsible citizens!

.

Many politicians, when caught in their lies, don’t even seem to blush, but merely continue forward in their lies!

.

A psychoanalyst might diagnose such individuals as being, “Sociopathic”.

.

But the Bible explains it as…“Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;” 1st Timothy 4:2

.

“JUDGMENT IS TURNED AWAY BACKWARD”

.

As we watch the justice system becoming increasingly corrupt, it’s disheartening to see the vast number of inequities in the obvious double-standard hypocrisy being meted out in the courts.

.

Those who do not qualify as “Politically Correct”, or who are “not on the correct side of the political isle”, often do not get treated with fair justice by today’s highly partisan justice departments and court systems!

.

It reminds us of the verse from Isaiah which prophesied of this very day…

.

“And judgment is turned away backward,

and justice standeth afar off:

for truth is fallen in the street,

and equity cannot enter.“

TELEVISION PROGRAMS

.

Back in the beginning of “the age of television”, programming was a lot more innocent compared to today! “Father Knows Best”, “Roy Rogers”, and many other similar shows fulfilled the daily line-up of TV programming back in those days.

.

But Satan wasted no time in taking society down the Highway to Hell, until many or most of today’s television programs are morally depraved.

.

Well, this has always been a world of sin and selfishness. There was sin on television even from its very inception!

.

But things are now getting so depraved, that for many elderly folk (and many younger ones too), it’s sad and even repulsive to watch much of the debased and often even lewd programming aired today!

TODAY’S YELLOW-JOURNALISM MEDIA GOLIATHS

For those of us who are held in bondage to watching the daily soap-opera of this world’s political/social issues, it has become an unbearable situation, to endure all the lies, and double-tongued hypocrisy coming out of the media giants.

.

The blatant double-standard being trumpeted throughout the day by the major media is so “in-your-face”, that it infuriates all those would like to see some sort of honesty, equity, and fairness in the reporting and commentaries of the daily social/political occurrences.

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”

2nd Corinthians 2:11

Now, those who are not privy to the spiritual battle going on all around us each day, these inequities can be really confounding and confusing. But for those who “are not ignorant of his (Satan’s) devices“, it is very easy to discern that he constantly stokes the flames of hatred and division in society. (2nd Corinthians 2:11)

.

As a popular phrase puts it, “He’s poking his finger in the eye of his opponents!”

.

And so, Satan is pleased to work through unsaved individuals both in politics and the media. And they are his mouthpiece to say things which are so obviously hypocritical, untrue, and racially inflammatory, that those citizens of the minority political party fume in hot anger until finally they oftentimes jump up in disgust and angrily slam off that TV program being aired!

And if that’s not bad enough, even the daily news reports are filled with ridiculous decisions and absurd laws enacted by the majority political power!

And it’s getting harder and harder each day, to sit and listen to all the insanity coming out of Washington DC and even from many state capitols these days. To see images of rioters burning down buildings and cars, and beating up people, while politicians stand by and casually say, “Oh, it’s for a just cause”, is far too much for any rational person to endure!

.

Of course, God is allowing Satan to speak through the media, “as a dragon”, as foretold in Revelation 13:11. And so, Satan is using this permitted power to bring society to the boiling point of self-destruction!

“And [God] hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth

Acts 17:26

And what about the current racial madness going on throughout the media?! Many of those who suffer through programming on television/Internet, etc., are so sick of hearing the wagging heads constantly finger-pointing, blaming everyone and everything on “racism”!

.

This racial madness has risen to the degree, that even common language, certain mathematics, people’s names, etc., are accused as being inherently “racist”! Even a few viruses are now being charged as being “Racist”!

.

And many people, of all skin-colors, have had quite enough of all this racial insanity!

.

HAVE WE HAD ENOUGH YET?

.

Well, things just keep getting worse and worse! And it indeed appears that if the current plagues, which Earth’s inhabitants are now suffering, continue to intensify, we just might see the suffering ones finally cry out, “Uncle! We’ve had enough!”

.

Yes, we must admit, Mankind is suffering more and more because of these various plagues which are just now falling upon us! And many, even in the Christian community, are shaking their fists at God (not literally but deep in their hearts), wondering why God is allowing all these awful things to takes place!

.

Listen to Revelation 16:17-21…“And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.” 

.

It appears that the hailstones now falling are spiritual hailstones, showing us how much God disapproves of us, as we flaunt His Holy Law, casting it aside as we worship our modern-day idols of gold and silver and the works of men’s hands! Yes, it seems as if we are being pelted daily by what we see and hear and endure all around us!

.

When will our society (or at the very least, the Church) repent and beg for deliverance from this dystopian world: a world in moral/economic/social freefall?

.

When will we at last cry, “‘Uncle!’ We’ve had enough!”

.

REPENTANCE ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS

But the Good News is, that you and I do not have to wait for some mass public-wide repentance to occur! No, there is no better time for an individual, be it man, woman, or child, to begin to cry out for God’s mercy, grace, and deliverance.

.

Oh no, this may not stem the swelling tide of evil around the world. But by perseveringly pleading with God, His grace, mercy, and peace may just come down from above, to stem the tide of evil in the life of the spiritually needy soul!

COULD THERE BE A GREATER SIGN?”

.

In the opening verse, “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” Revelation 15:1, is a direct reference to the Signs In Heaven, which God is just now graciously revealing.

.

Notice that this above verse says… “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous“.

.

If ever there was a great and marvelous sign in Heaven, this 7 Star Constellation seems to be just that! And it is the easiest of all constellations to locate (excepting for those in the southernmost latitudes of the Earth who cannot see it). It seems to stand alone in the northern sky, outshining any other constellation in the night heavens!

.

As for its significance, it is easy to see the message for which it was created to bring. It looks like a bowl. A giant bowl! And in the winter, it begins to slowly tip through the night, as if it is finally spilling out its contents upon the earth, as stated in Revelation… “And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial upon the earth” Revelation 16:2.

And so it is not hard to see the message which this constellation presents. In the summer it begins to slowly tip. But in winter it does fully appear to pour out its contents upon the Earth.

Then this unbelieving world could all joke and mock “the silly and absurd notion” that Satan is a very active and powerful force controlling the peoples of this world, by laughingly saying…“The Devil made me do it! The Devil made me do it!“

SATAN, “THE GOD OF THIS WORLD”

2nd Corinthians 4:4

But the horrifying fact is, the Devil does indeed cause the vast percentage of the world’s inhabitants to do a great amount of things!

And this above verse from Ephesians 2:2, 3 reveals that Satan is indeed… “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

And let’s face it! To admit that the entire world’s inhabitants are filled with this evil spirit, that now works in them, is more than anybody is willing to accept, much less even admit!

SATAN, THE GREAT PUPPET-MASTER!

In the April 22 devotional (click here), the Devil, being called, “the god of this world” in 2nd Corinthians 4:4, was put forth as an evil puppet-master, controlling and orchestrating so much of the goings on in this world.

Oh yes, God is ultimately in control, and only permits Satan to work within the parameters which Bible prophecy lays out, concerning his workings of deception and evil. And Satan must get permission before he can do anything.

WORLDLY ROLE-MODELS?

But today’s devotional will attempt to home-in on the world, and who is really making things happen. After all, there is a real effort to put the blame on mere humans for what is happening around the world.

Take for example the destruction of the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001.

Oh yes, we all know that terrorists did it. But many conspiracy theories abound, concerning that tragic event, as to just who was behind it, working in the shadows to make it happen. Some even blame the US government; others blame the Illuminati.  

.

But the Bible has something to say on just who is behind the wars and man-made calamities of this world.

.

“SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES”

Listen…“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

Satan, “the god of this world” loves to erase himself out of visibility. But make no mistake! This evil ruler is not just sitting idly by, merely watching the goings on all around him. No, just the opposite! Satan and his vast army of unseen spirit-beings (and humans) are working around the clock, carefully orchestrating the events in the world, according to his masterplan.

Oh yes, as already stated, God is ultimately in control, and only allows Satan to work within the parameters which the Lord has laid down for him…“Surely the wrath of man shall praise Thee: the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain.” Psalm 76:10

Make no mistake! God is ultimately in control of man, but also over what Satan can and cannot do!

SATAN, THE TRUE ‘MOVER-AND-SHAKER’ OF THIS WORLD!

But it is to this evil arch-deceiver’s advantage to create the illusion that humans are master-minding all the current events around the world.

.

And so, he raises up various clandestine organizations and causes us to believe that a small group of men are behind such catastrophes as the 911 attacks.

.

And Satan remains hidden in the shadows. And humans get all the credit, and Satan gets none of the blame!

.

But no, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the dark spiritual forces at work behind the scenes who are the actual “movers-and-shakers”.

Well, if God should withdraw His powers from humans and Satan did too, we would be dismayed to discover just how inept and bumbling we humans actually are!

The only reason that the world is making all its discoveries and seemingly successful achievements is because the true orchestrators of this world are the higher unseen spiritual powers of both Heaven and Hell (“Hell” in the sense of the death and darkness of this world), working behind the scenes and in the shadows making it all happen!

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY”

Well, the very Good (but rather scary) News is that this world has finally come down to its great climactic finale. The final scenes are just now beginning to unfold. This “experiment in sin” has almost reached its finality.

And all who hear Heaven’s call can jump ship, so to speak, and get on-board the winning side.

And this Gospel ship is soon to set sail, away from this dying planet, taking us to the Promised Land of Milk and Honey in which we will be forever happy and forever young!

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

.

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Revelation 12:3 

.

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.

.

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

When God created man and animals, on the 6th day of Creation, He had a further plan. Yes, there was one more day to be created…the 7th Day. And unlike all the animals created on the 6th Day, God brought mankind forward into His 7th Day Sabbath Rest.

Listen…”And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.” Genesis 2:2, 3

Yes, mankind was invited into God’s finished Creation, rising above the beasts of the earth and into a godly Sabbath Rest with The Creator Himself!

COATS OF SKINS FOR FALLEN MANKIND

But as we all know, mankind fell from grace. No longer did mankind enjoy resting in God’s finished works. And “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21

Now it’s true that those animal skins symbolized the future covering sacrifice of Christ, God’s eternal Son.

But perhaps, those skins symbolized something more. Maybe, just maybe they also symbolized Man’s reversion back to the 6th day of creation, when both man and beast were both created.

ANIMALISTIC BEHAVIOR

And on and on, throughout the Scriptures, God compares unsaved Mankind to various animals. And so, it’s no wonder that God has named His curse on mankind, “the Mark of the Beast” (Revelation 16:2 & 19:20)

.

And if we really think about it, our behavior is animal-like in so many ways!

.

For example, don’t we so often growl at a rude or fumbling cashier?

.

And don’t many people flock together at their favorite local watering-hole?

.

And like a wild coyote, don’t we “flawless” drivers sometimes grind our teeth and yap a hateful squeal at, “That Idiot!”?

.

And don’t many fathers bark out orders at their children?

.

And don’t young teens become very territorial in their school relationships?

.

And don’t they quite often drive out certain unwanted individuals from “the pack”?

.

And what about all the savage, senseless killings in today’s society? Like wild beasts, they kill!

.

And don’t we so often fight over material possessions like a bunch of seagulls fighting over a morsel of food?

.

And many thieves sneak up on their victims to steal, just like vampire bats who nightly sneak up on their victims to steal their blood!

.

And just like so many animals, many hardened businesspeople will grind their competition to hopefully drive them out of business.

.

And many married couples often “fight like cats and dogs”.

.

And like a trampling herd, many ambitious employees will “step on the backs of others” to get that promotion.

.

And like talking parrots, so many political junkies will “parrot” the very same demeaning insults they hear on their favorite daily talk show. And many Bible teachers often parrot the false doctrines which they hear other Bible teachers parrot.

.

And like a herd of wild baboons, large mobs will violently bully others into tacit submission. And like a herd of elephants, they will mercilessly “trample” their opponents, and heartlessly bludgeon anyone who gets in their way!

.

And like the double-tongued serpent, many politicians will speak out of both sides of their mouth!

.

And like the Black Widow spider, many adulteresses will catch and ensnare their victims.

.

And like the mere wild beasts of the field, so many will fornicate with just about anyone and everyone they can seduce! And then move on to their next victim!

.

And like the changing colors of a chameleon, many will hypocritically change to a more advantageous position when convenient.

.

Well, this little exercise could go on and on, all day long. Because, no matter where we look in the animal/insect world, God has created them to remind us of our sinful behaviors.

GOOD NEWS

But in spite of this humbling and distasteful exercise, we have the option to reach out to the One who always behaved as the noble Being He was! Yes, and that majestic One walked the earth in self-sacrificing love, in search of repentant lost sinners: we lost sinners who behave so often like mere beasts of the field!

.

And though He was the most noble and majestic Being to ever walk the face of the earth, He nevertheless humbled Himself to become a lowly lamb, only to be sacrificed for others!

.

And unlike animals He willingly allowed us to hang Him upon that cruel Roman Cross, to bring us back into that 7th Day Sabbath Rest which we abandoned so long ago, back in the Garden! And even though we were like a pack of cruel dogs, as we ruthlessly nailed Him to that wooden Cross, He nevertheless looked down in love at us and prayed…“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” Luke 23:34

.

And those who do turn from this animalist world, and return to God’s everlasting Rest, can once again be purified back into the noble beings we were originally created to be!

You see, even the church community became mired in America’s great prosperity, which eventually begat the various prosperity gospels, thus fulfilling the prophecy…

“Two things have I required of THEE;

Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD?

or lest I be poor, and steal,

and take the name of my God in vain.”

This above warning from Proverbs, cautions God’s people to be satisfied with their daily needs. It warns against either extreme: “neither poverty nor riches”.

And through the Dark Ages mankind suffered centuries of hardship, wantonness, and scarcity. In contrast, today’s world has increasingly become the age of opulence, decadence, immorality, and lawlessness: a society without the favor of God, destined to fail, doomed to fall!

And the church was deluded by this false benevolence from this cuttlefish imposter, America, posing as our friend! (“…the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Proverbs 27:6)

And even in many pulpits, the Church had been lulled to sleep by Satan’s false, “ministers of righteousness” 2nd Corinthians 11:15.

They deceived us, saying, “We’ll all be raptured out of the world before the really bad stuff begins to happen!”

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION GROUP…

Look eastward in the early summer through fall. Find the Cassiopeia Constellation. Cassiopeia is the Mount of Blessing. In this sketch, it is the farthest mountain to the left. In the sky, it is the northernmost of these three mountains when facing eastward. It somewhat resembles a pyramid, as do the other two.

Then find the second pyramid to its right (south).

Then go a little further south to the next third pyramid. The third snow-cap is the Destroying Mountain Constellation.

These three pyramids are the snow-capped portion of these three mountains in this sketch. (of course, you won’t see the snow-caps in the sky. They are just an embellishment in this sketch to present a concept-EDITOR).

THE VALLEY OF DECISION CONSTELLATION GROUP.

They appear in mid-summer in the eastern skies in pre-dawn hours. These are made of Cassiopeia (mount on left), and various stars from the Andromeda Constellation (valley) and  Pegasus (Mount of Cursing (middle mount) and the “Destroying Mountain” (right)), and Pisces (“The Broad Way to Hell”). The galaxy which appears to be climbing the Mountain of Blessing is the Andromeda Galaxy.

This nation originally arose, “up out of the earth”, in the wilderness of North America: an entirely new nation founded, by God’s mercy, as a safe-haven of refuge for those escaping the long siege by the tyrannical church-state beast system dictatorship during the Dark Ages of Europe.

And God gave this fledgling nation a constitution based on the principle of liberty of conscience and freedom of political/religious speech, as well as freedom to own property and make other personal choices.

2nd BEAST ARISES OUT OF THE EARTH

But nations rise and nations eventually fall. And America left herself open to secularists moving in and slowly taking control, not only of the government, but also of the entire culture!

And out of the blessed beginnings of this liberty-of-conscience society, Satan and his evil armies moved in and began to morph this former Christianity-based society into a secular, even an atheistic society.

This was the fulfillment of what the Bible foretold concerning the Revelation 13 “False Prophet”, the 2nd Beast which:

1. Arose “from out of the earth” (by means of vast opulence derived from the manufacturing of natural resources along with earthy lusts)

2. Having two horns as a Lamb (“the political party of so-called ‘compassion'” & “the political party of so-called ‘morality'”)

3. But this beast power, “spake as a dragon” (speaking lies, censorship, and oppression through today’s major media Goliaths)

Yes, tragically, this once great nation has now been transformed by “the god of this world”, Lucifer, into the False Prophet of Revelation 13.

“AND HE SPAKE AS A DRAGON”

But today’s devotional will spotlight on one dreadful aspect of this False Prophet: “Its ability to appear as a lamblike beast, and yet speak as a dragon”.

Oh yes, Satan has been in control of the major media for a long time, speaking as a dragon.

.

And how has he spoken through the media Goliaths as a dragon?

.

Well, just think of all the programs which teach devilish doctrines! Evolution, atheism, prosperity-driven gospels, false sciences, hedonism, and such-like philosophies.

.

But in addition to these, just think about all the radio/television/Internet dramas which promote sexual depravity, greed, violence, revenge, hatred, pride, lust, dishonesty, indifference.

.

And lastly, the various radio and Internet ministries are speaking as a dragon by pushing many false doctrines and encouraging a world-loving prosperity gospel, filled with comedy in the pulpits, and intolerance against those Christians who disagree with those false church-doctrines of the mainstream “orthodoxy”.

But Satan is no dummy as many mistakenly suppose! No, just the opposite! This master of deception knows well that he must provide a thin veneer of false goodness, to mask the overt wickedness of the mass-media. Hence, he has enshrouded these evils in an outward cloak of humanitarianism and counterfeit compassion. In other words, like the cuttlefish disguises itself by morphing into its surroundings, so too, Satan likewise is able to change his appearance into, “an angel of light”. (see 2nd Corinthians 11:15)

And so, all Satan’s wickedness being broadcast 24/7/365 is constantly being interrupted by some “benign” 60-second humanitarian advertisement!

And let’s face it! Political correctness gives many or most people enough self-righteousness to make us feel good about our otherwise godlessly selfish lives.

A LIE REPEATED OFTEN

Joseph Goebbels, Propaganda Minister for Adolph Hitler once said, “If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it. If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.”

Yes, via the media giants, Satan is now able to indoctrinate the world (and the church-world) into his fallen image and character!

.

And isn’t it also true that there is now a whole lot of demonizing going on! Yes, in these last moments of time, Satan has stepped up his dragon-like rhetoric, now branding politically incorrect people as “Nazis”, “Fascists”, and/or “systemically racist”! And this has been very effective in dividing this nation, and instilling violent hatred against one-another!

And using the major media as willing accomplices, the public now gets a full plate of these derogatory names (along with their daily world-indoctrination) being repeatedly chanted on a 24/7/365 basis to the point that these false accusations against their political adversaries eventually begin to take root in the minds of the unsaved multitudes.

Yes, these modern-day ideology-warriors in both politics, and also in the media, instinctively know that George Goebbels was correct in his assertion that “a lie repeated often enough, it becomes truth”.

SATAN, THE ACTUAL SOURCE OF ALL THIS BRAINWASHING

Well, even though many would like to, we simply cannot put all the blame on politicians, spokespeople, voters, nor even on the various media Goliaths. No, the true source of all the current brainwashing and demonizing is “the god of this world”, Satan! (see 2nd Corinthians 4:4)

And with the ability to speak “as a dragon”, this False Prophet, Satan can now fully brainwash and indoctrinate the various societies much, much more easily than in former times!

And any man, woman, and child who is not wearing the armor of Christ is fair game for the Enemy of Souls, not only to inhabit their bodies, but to marshal them into his vast army of “soldiers for Satan” in his warfare against Heaven, and against the Church-Elect: The Church-Faithful! (See Ephesians 2:2 for reference of inhabiting their bodies with an antichrist spirit).

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Revelation 12:3

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.

.

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

A certain friend of this website had to ride his bike down a busy street (very close to a grade school) to get to Walmart.

.

And this busy street had no sidewalks, forcing all the young people and even little children to walk to one side or the other on this narrow street.

.

It really seemed crazy that the county had never put sidewalks on this busy suburban street, especially since many children used it to go to and return home from the nearby school.

.

And this website friend thought to himself, “It’s probably going to take some kid getting hit before the county gets around to putting in a sidewalk!”

Now, whether or not this website friend ever secretly wished that such a wake-up call would ever happen, he could not say for sure.

“You were riding on the wrong sidewalk!”

.

Well, several years later, this same web-friend was struck by a car as he was crossing the shopping center exit on a very busy street (a different street). The web-friend (and his mangled bike were both pulled out from beneath the vehicle, and he was transported via ambulance to the hospital.)

.

But while being treated at the hospital, a police officer came into the treatment room. And much to the web-friend’s surprise, the officer apologetically handed him a citation, because “You were riding on the wrong sidewalk. You should have been riding on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street” (The driver told this officer that he stopped at the stop-sign).”

“No Sidewalk! Not Guilty!”

.

A month or so later, while in court, the web-friend explained to the judge that he couldn’t ride on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street, “You see, Your Honor, much like so many other streets in this town, there is no sidewalk on the opposite side of the street on this, the busiest street in town!”

Well, the Judge proclaimed, “Not guilty!”

“THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

Please tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose. (Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

Do you see an angry look? His right eye-brow is raised as if he is judging.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn.

PHARISEEISM: THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE

.

But these two devotionals are focusing on the second face, the wolf-like beast.

If you will notice, this creature appears to have somewhat of a judgmental facial expression. Yes, one of his eyebrows is raised, causing him to appear as if he is looking down at the world with a judgmental eye.

.

This face represents a proud Pharisee. This is because the Pharisees were a class of very moral spiritual leaders. And the Pharisees looked down on others with a judgmental eye (much like this wolf-like Moon beast).

.

OUR FAVORITE PASTIME!

.

Just what do you think is the greatest and most loved pastime in this world? Is it basketball? Baseball? Football? Soccer? Tennis?

.

Well, when we get right down to it, we might say that the greatest and most beloved of all pastimes in this world is “judging others”!

.

After all, if one could actually take account of his or her daily thoughts it might be discovered that more time is spent in judgmental criticizing of others than we would even imagine or care to believe!

.

Quite often, we are not even consciously aware that we are judging others. It comes so naturally to us; it is as easy as breathing! We just do it! As we work, as we walk, as we converse with others, we are constantly judging, “accusing…excusing”, criticizing, and condemning others in our thoughts, and at times, even in our words! (See Romans 2:15 for “accusing…excusing” reference)

LIVING IN A PROUD, FINGER-POINTING WORLD

.

And certainly, the mass media promotes judging of others! If one could honestly analyze the television or radio, judging others is a constant underlying theme. Take for example, talk shows. Judging the behavior of others is mostly the daily mental diet which these pharisean programs feed their audience! “Oh that horrible politician!” Or, “Oh, that dishonest businessman!” Or, “Just look at that filthy-looking person!”

.

These are so often the kinds of thoughts which run through our hearts and minds as we go about our day, whether we are aware of it or not.

.

SATAN STEALS OUR PERFECT PEACE

.

One great problem with listening to Satan’s whisperings, is that this is how this “Accuser of our brethren” gains access into our hearts and minds (see Revelation 12:10). And once we allow him access, he often begins to torment us with all sorts of “evil surmisings” about the motives of others. (1st Timothy 6:4) 

.

We must remember the Wise Man’s advice…“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:24-27

.

Yes, to guard the avenues to the soul, not allowing Satan any access, is our first and foremost duty!

.

.

GOD IS THE ONLY RIGHTEOUS JUDGE!

.

But the sad and fearful reality is, to point the accusing finger at another living soul is to place ourselves upon God’s Judgment Throne against that erring person…“There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?” James 4:12

.

But as our signature verse for today points out… “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Matthew 7:1, 2

.

Yes, God is the Searcher of hearts. And if we have been elected to be His royal priesthood, then we know that He will be sifting and purifying us from all our unjust judging. And when we engage in our proud finger-pointing at others, we must realize that there are three fingers pointing back at us…from Heaven!

SLIP-SLIDING IN OUR OWN MUDDY WAYS!

.

And so, if you or I do not wish to take the long road to Heaven, we need to replace our critical arrogance with a meek and lowly Spirit, grasping what Paul finally realized…“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1st Timothy 1:15

.

Yes, we need to take this same attitude: “I am the chief of sinners”. And God will assist us in this process, allowing us to we are just as guilty as others!

.

And just as Peter (in Luke 22:31) had to be “sifted as wheat” because of his foolish pride, so too will God allow us to walk through the purifying fires of tribulation: that our self-righteous pride will be purged away and replaced by a humble and meek and lowly Spirit.

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY!”

Proverbs 25:25

But the Good News is, that this is still the day of Salvation! And we can use our remaining time here spending many hours contemplating God’s Word, in hopes of allowing Him to regain His rightful place on the throne of our heart.

.

And who knows? Maybe by aggressively and prayerfully pursuing His heart-cleansing Word, we can spare ourselves a lot of needless and painful and discouraging hours slip-sliding in our own muddy ways, all because we foolishly judged others!

“THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

.

Please tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose? (Obviously, the lower sketch is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

.

Do you see an angry look? His right eyebrow is raised as if he is judging.

.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn.

.

Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad look of shock and awe (click here to see and read about); this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn. As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below. He is very moral, you see.

THE PHARISEES…

.

“Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.” Proverbs 21:24

.

Yes, this wolf-like beast-face in the Moon, is what the Bible calls a proud Pharisee. They were the morality crowd. They were the finger pointers. They were the scorners. They didn’t realize that their own pride was even more reprehensible to God than the drunkenness, immorality, or sexual perversions of the unsaved of the world.

Alexander Hislop, a minister of the Gospel back in the mid-nineteenth century, made a compelling case in his renowned (and much maligned & despised) book, The Two Babylons. And that case was concerning the Church of Rome being an extension of ancient Babylon.

Hislop went step-by-step showing that the various customs, practices, doctrines, and holidays of that Romish religion were actually originated in ancient Babylon.

SUNDAY SACREDNESS?

.

Now, today’s devotional is concerned with just one of those ancient doctrines, Sunday sacredness.

.

Yes, in today’s Christian community, the doctrine of Sunday sacredness has received almost universal acceptance. This day was once known as The Sunday Sabbath.

.

But gradually, since about the mid-twentieth Century, it began to be called The Lord’s Day. This is a reference to Revelation 1 opening remarks in which John the Revelator says…“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega…” Revelation 1:10, 11

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:24

.

Of course, nowhere in this passage from Revelation 1:10, 11, nor anywhere else in the Bible, does it ever call for a weekly worship on first day of the week. But Church theologians presumed that Sunday is The Lord’s Day, based on a number of other Bible passages.

.

And yet, the Bible says much to the contrary…“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

.

Yes, today, whichever day of the week, “this is the day” happens to be, is The Lord’s Day! And every day of the week, “we will rejoice and be glad in it!” And every day is a good day to worship the Lord!

.

And while it’s true that the Lord was resurrected on the 1st day of the week, this does not give license for mere humans to concoct an entirely new Sabbath, nor to institute a new church-sanctified day of gathering to worship.

“Come unto Me…and ye shall find rest unto your souls!”

(see Matthew 11:28-30)

Now, is there anything wrong with worshiping on Sunday? Absolutely not! We can worship on any day of the week, but hopefully we’ll worship God on all seven days!

.

Truly, the New Testament “rest that remaineth unto the people of God”, which the Lord Jesus offers to all “weary and heavy laden” persons, is the true New Testament Sabbath! (Hebrews 4:9 & Matthew 11:28-30).

.

It is a 24/7/365 spiritual rest unto our souls!
